Anti-TRUMP “news” source Axios claims that President TRUMP is “torching the coalition” who made him president.
I am not feeling much truth in that. Part of their reasoning is that Operation Epic Fury is viewed as a broken promise about “no more endless wars.”

Also: regime change in Iran is the only remedy for the nuclear issue. Regime change is the necessary outcome of this military intervention. I don’t call it a war for the US, and this recent ceasefire resets the clock so that President Trump doesn’t have to go to Congress for a declaration of war.
It IS a war for Israel, and Israel has affirmed its commitment to regime change in Iran.
This huge surge is quite recent. Bessent’s post is a month old.
Old thinking would say give it time, gas prices will respond to this new change.
New thinking is that Trump and company were aware of old thinking the moment Trump pointed out this was happening.
We shall see if they have already implemented a solution to keep gas prices down. All the other times the old thinking lead to doomer thoughts, Trump used new thinking to avoid the doom.
I am fairly certain shutting down the Strait was in the plans from the beginning. Perhaps Bessent was read in.
Shutting it down does many things at one time. It starves the Iranian regime of money, and starves China of energy. I do hope this operation can wrap up before the midterms.
I think so too. It takes 10 days to steam across the Atlantic. Many weeks to have sufficient time to gather the ships needed to run a blockade.
Also, there is too much history of Iranian negotiating nonsense to not have plans for it.
Basically I think there was a kill phase, and when we run out of targets a blockade phase. And we used ‘negotiations as the transition. Negotiations that only happened after threatening to bomb them back to the stone age by destroying infrastructure. Which they had no intention of doing. We gave them an opportunity to comply. They rejected it. And we began the prepared in advance next phase.

Yes the gas price can hurt consumers but most people don’t mind the pinch if it’s short term. I do have a problem with the jump in grocery prices because I know they won’t go back down after delivery costs do. Whether the admin realizes or not the damage done by Biden and loss of competition due to Covid has made any gains in personal income a loss! Insurance, energy and costs of items, all these items we’ve been hoping will get fixed have been laid to the wayside! Paying the IRS even more this year for those of us who don’t have dependents, aren’t tip driven employees etc..are losing patience!
Giving us great tax cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill is a significant method of solving Biden’s affordability crisis.
Deporting illegals is another. Since Americans are getting those jobs and wages are going up. This is also a result of tariffs that are bringing manufacturing and jobs back to America. But these are slower than massive tax cuts.
But you are right about inflation. We will never see prices rolled back across the board. That would be deflation, which is considered worse even than hyper inflation. Fed could do it easily. But no Fed will ever deflate our money supply.
And, as you point out, businesses are reluctant to lower prices when costs drop after having raised prices when costs skyrocketed. It takes competition for price cutting to restore such prices.
This Iran war is messing up the progress that Trump had made towards cutting prices, but I for one am quite grateful for that progress. Imagine if prices were still Biden High when we had to confront Iran.
One thing I am not sure about is if freeing up the other gulf oil that goes through the straight, coupled with putting Venezuelan oil on the market and maybe letting Russia back in is enough to settle prices down, or do we need to increase production at home?

It is amazing that there is a rise in conversions happening: my old Catholic parish, surrounded now by squalor thanks to decades of DEM policies like forced busing to integrate schools, is reporting an increase in young families attending with children.

In 1814, Napoleon had just been defeated again and the Monarchies of Europe decided it was time to put self-serving safe-guards in place to cement their authority and prevent another upstart from rising as well as counter the “revolutionary” upstarts in France and US. There were at least 2-points during that time that had Russian Armies physically being the dominant force and occupier of everything up to the Rhine River …. they went home on their own accord after hostilities ended. It wasn’t until 1945, that they felt a buffer set of vassal states were needed.

4) That number gives the Gov’t the right to confiscate my wealth;
5) The Gov’t will chase me to the ends of the earth and the end of my time to collect every last $$ it says I owe them;
6) The Gov’t utilizes every tool and technique including advanced technologies to track and monitor my wealth;
7) Yet that same Gov’t doesn’t have the tools or doesn’t want to implement the tools to track where and how that money is spent, so fraud robs me of my wealth;
8) Beyond the fraud, the Gov’t spends my wealth on things that are against my interests and, imo, those of our country.
I hate today. It reminds me that I am but a tax slave to those in our Gov’t. My only rest comes from knowing that my Lord and Savior has better plans for me.

Well he picked the wrong guy, and I hope it saved some other people because maybe he would think twice before trying it again.

Just an observation on this note:
Every time there was a headline that the conflict was getting resolved GASOLINE Prices at the pump wagged up and down by 15-20 cents per gallon … however the cost “at the pump” for fuels that move stuff impacting inflation (i.e. diesel fuel, marine fuel and jet fuel) STAYED HIGH and wagged upward.
It will take 3-6 months for the inflation to level off and begin to drop again after the Conflict is resolved BY DESIGN of the Big Whales opposing the President as they slow roll the drop in costs to fuels that really impact inflation… still being high near or at election time.
How is that even possible? WE GOT to get rid of these damn commies!

A request for federal funding has been scrapped after Iowa Senator Joni Ernst flagged a series of “red flags” surrounding a proposed substance abuse clinic in Minnesota.
The $1.4 million earmark, originally tucked into a congressional spending bill, was intended for a facility that investigators later discovered was physically located inside a Somali-owned restaurant.
According to IRS filings and public documents, the clinic was managed by three individuals who all listed the same residential address. Ernst noted that the setup bore a striking resemblance to previous instances of large-scale fraud in the region, drawing direct parallels to the recent Somali daycare scandal that has rocked Minnesota politics.
“One of our spending bills making its way through Congress was a $1 million earmark from Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota,” Ernst told host Stuart Varney. “This was an earmark that was supposedly going to a substance abuse clinic, which actually happened to be housed in a restaurant. It had tons of red flags.”

Court orders DC judge to end criminal contempt inquiry into Trump officials involved in deportation flights
A divided federal appeals court on Tuesday ordered US District Judge James Boasberg to end his efforts to hold Trump administration officials accountable for flouting his orders in a high-stakes immigration case.
The decision comes nearly a year after Boasberg, the chief judge of the federal trial-level court in Washington, DC, said in a blockbuster ruling that “probable cause exists to find the government in criminal contempt” for defying his orders to temporarily halt the deportation of migrants under a powerful wartime authority invoked by President Donald Trump.
But now, a pair of Trump appointees on the appellate court has decided to fully stamp out Boasberg’s plans, saying in a sharply worded opinion that his contempt probe represented “a clear abuse” of power given that the administration had previously identified then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as the official responsible for deciding to allow the deportations in question to continue.
“The district court proposes to probe high-level Executive Branch deliberations about matters of national security and diplomacy. These proceedings are a clear abuse of discretion,” Judges Neomi Rao and Justin Walker said in the unsigned opinion.
“The district court has launched an intrusive criminal contempt investigation into whether the government acted willfully when it transferred suspected Tren de Aragua members to Salvadoran custody. But the end of this investigation is a legal dead end,” the court said.

3 arrested after Turning Point USA reporter posts video of assault
An anti-ICE protest was taking place at the Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis, and Savannah Hernandez, a reporter for Turning Point USA, was covering the protest.
Hernandez was swarmed by people screaming obscenities, blowing horns and whistles in her ears and repeatedly shoving her to the ground and breaking her glasses.
The Hennepin County Sheriff told NewsNation three people have been arrested.
Paige Ostroushko was arrested for disorderly conduct and her father, Chris Ostroushko, was arrested for obstruction with force. Her boyfriend was also taken into custody.
The sheriff submitted charges to the county attorney, who said the cases were submitted Monday and are now under review for potential charging.
“I’ve never asked for security when conducting point-and-shoot journalism, because I’ve always had some semblance of hope that I still live in a safe country,” Hernandez said on X. “However, after Saturday, TPUSA ensured that I will have new security protocols moving forward due to the violent nature of the left-wing.”
Harmeet Dillon, assistant attorney general of civil rights at the Justice Department, confirmed on X that the FBI has opened an investigation.

My last Substack about the controls used to license childhood vaccines that showed how the “fact checkers” are wrong clearly got under their skin, as it has caused numerous “fact check” inquiries. These folks clearly do not want to be challenged by facts.
For example, here is a notice I got from LinkedIn about an article that detailed the control used in every clinical trial relied upon to license routine childhood vaccines, showing clearly none used a placebo, but yet somehow was found to be “misinformation.”
