President Trump and EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen have apparently come to terms around the broad outlines of a U.S-EU trade agreement.
The EU will commit to purchasing $750 billion in energy products. The EU will commit to investing $600+ billion in direct U.S. industries. The EU will commit to purchasing their NATO military hardware from the USA ($500+ billion likely). The EU will open up all markets to USA products without tariffs. The EU and U.S. will both carry a 15% auto tariff for imports. WATCH:
.
I’m all about the broad outline described in the video above, but I also want to see the details. If what President Trump said about all EU markets being open is accurate, it sounds like the Marshall Plan is over
Canada will not be happy; Europe gets a deal – Canada gets a cold shoulder.
Also, with U.K, Japan, ASEAN and EU trade agreements complete, President Trump is likely to begin focusing on the USMCA (Canada and Mexico) sooner than later. Two bilateral trade agreements will likely replace the USMCA.

Winning!!!
Only if EU holds up their side of the deal. I suspect there are myriad sneaky ways in which the EU can cause the price of U.S. goods inside the EU to be higher than EU goods thus discouraging purchase by Europeans. I also suspect PDJT knows this and has somehow factored that into the agreement or established some monitoring scheme to catch any such price inflationary pressures on U.S. goods imported into the EU.
Yep they just need to survive the next 3 years until dominion can vote us a new President into office.
I can only imagine the cat herding that will be required to get all of the EU countries to agree to this. Not sure how the rules work but I think any one EU nation can kill this deal if they want to.
As for the “Snow Mexicans”, they are used to being left out in the cold. Shouldn’t be a problem for them right?
The EU buying energy products from the US should also leave Russia a bit out in the cold too. Is the $750billion annual?
Cuz we are not selling them windmills and solar panels.
Energy products is a broad category. Nordstream pipelines were destroyed to force purchase of US LNG; the cost is suicidal for European industry – Russian sources of NG are sensible economically. The US has always relied on refined petroleum products, not crude, for export and support of the dollar.
According to prior articles at CTH, the oil coming from the Permian is too sweet for the majority of our refineries. Therefore we export it.
To where, I’m unsure.
I just watched her presser. The energy agreement is $250 million per year for 3 years. She mentioned buying American LNG and nuclear power and getting off Russian energy that comes in through the back door.
Make that $250 billion per year. Billion with a B….
Year 2, 3, and 4, $250 Billion per.
“Not sure how the rules work but I think any one EU nation can kill this deal if they want to.”
The rules do not serve the best interests of any one, or all of the member nations. The rules are designed to only serve the best interests of the collective in Brussels.
France will want to. Bet on it.
Just another theater performance; this bird won’t fly.
If true that only one EU country can kill this deal, then one of the details I hope President Trump has forced von der Leyen to accept is that all those countries accept the deal immediately – as in before August 1st. Because if the deal is killed and the only practical effect of what happened today is to delay implementation of his threatened tariffs, then Trump will need to implement even higher tariffs to go into effect immediately upon that first EU country saying No.
Eh?
MAGA Trade comes into focus. MAGA around the world leaves D’s/DS/DC/GOPe/RINOs watching helplessly and neutered. Bring on 2026!
It is a good look on them.
Even the lyrics come out of both sides of the mouth
O Canada – Wikipedia https://share.google/sRd0Vuyb8Z4J4MEOX
MAGA Fabulous.. however, talk is cheap and money buys whiskey… show me the money, Ursula!
in any deal with the EU,
i’d advise we get the check up front – and make sure it clears –
before anything goes out the door from here!
Yes, a single country can in theory kill the deal, but then they’re going to have to explain to the others why they’re all going to pay the 30% tariff rate. The EU had fluffed itself up and passed $100 billion in counter tariffs, but the US was always going to have the whip hand in negotiations.
IIRC, Trump said it would be 35% in the pre-meeting Presser!
So if one or two countries bail would several (e.g. Poland) move to engage a bilateral deal? Could it be the beginning of the end of the EU?
Can we keep the Maple Leaf as the official state flag of the 51st state?
Better have a good supply of body bags when you try.
Meow.
Do we even have State flags in the USA? I was born and raised here and the only flags I’ve ever recognized is the American flag, POW/MIA, don’t tread on me and Trump. State nicknames are different though.
Here you go:
50 states of America — their flags.
Of course…
When it comes to trade deals, Trump is like the oil in your salad dressing. You can shake it and shake it until all the ingredients are mixed up but a few minutes later the oil always rises to the top!
Be ready with the hammer because Europe’s record of following through on commitments is not the best of late
Negatrons excepted, this will be YUUUGE, for the US economy. Trump has stated, “The EU will agree to the following:”
For all the boo birds who really believe Ursula the sea witch, has made that verbal agreement only to shrug her shoulders and say, “sorry no deal, country (X) won’t go along.” Well that would make President Trump look pretty silly. That will not bode well for the EU and Ursula will be one sorry bitch for pulling a stunt like that.
Trump holds all the cards no matter the game . He has every Trump card and a full Royal flush. You boo birds and negatrons need to practice both faith and action.
I guess Marcon and Merz are her Flotsam and Jetsam.
and if the dems get power in ’26 and ’28, all of this gets reversed
And if a frog had wings it wouldn’t have to hop.
I am not so sure democrats would be willing to give up all that money coming in. Biden didn’t rescind the Trump tariffs from his first term.
Will Canadians finally be able to figure out who their friends are? They’re stuck with their leadership until the next election so they’ve got some time to watch the world go by [them].
Trump is your friend if you can get your leaders to work with him rationally. If Canadian leadership will fight truly for the benefit of its citizens, POTUS will make sure your deal is fair.
The guy works harder on a weekend than most do in a month of weekdays.
With this deal watch for the fed to lower rates. The certainty of tariff rates going forward with EU, JP and others will provide Powell et al with the face saving excuse to lower rates.
I am very happy to see these deals happening. But, what about the profits that go to foreign companies opening factories in the U.S.? Those profits go overseas, they don’t stay here. Not good.
Who cares about the profits if there are good jobs created where the wages, corporate taxes, personal income taxes, sales tax stay here? Also think about the jobs and domestic materials purchased to build the facilities. Not to mention the secondary and tertiary business growth, and job creation, to support the new factory .
I would also remark that a “significant %” (10 to 25%) of the profits will be kept here, in our banks, to reinvest in the business if it is successful.
This is Yuge!
What a day to be alive and see this man, putting him right up there with the first President, Washington, as the Best President Ever!
The first President set the standard for what to expect in our Chief Executive officer; President Trump is setting the standard for the next 250 years as an example on how to represent our nation.
🚨 DEMOCRATS: “tRuMp Is On VaCaTiOn”
Trump just worked out a TRILLION DOLLAR trade deal with Europe IN BETWEEN HOLES in Scotland
If THAT’S what a Trump “Vacation” looks like, he should take MORE of them!
Hmm, maybe Canada will have to start transshipping it’s good via 3rd countries in the future, to avoid the USA’s tarriff’s.
Interesting turn-around from the prior status quo, of Canada making out like thieves by playing China off the USA’s market, transshipping Chinese goods to the USA.
I’m kinda done with the “Canada is America’s friend” 80 year meme. Canada is as she acts, and she hasn’t acted as “America’s friend” for decades. Canada is already, a failed pseudo Marxist state, without the authoritarian socialism aspect completed.
I feel for Canadian citizens, though. I was once a native Californian socialists’ serf myself. But, I had the good sense to leave that “workers paradise” for the free state of Idaho (free, if we can still keep it that way – “socialism, Inc.” is now springing up in every government and utility office in Idaho, too).
The main friction in EU–US trade isn’t just tariffs but non-tariff barriers that act as hidden restrictions. European regulations often require U.S. companies to meet complex, sometimes extraterritorial standards just to sell products.
I look forward to seeing how those are dealt with within the agreement.
This is welcome news, however, the only sad part about this deal is that if it goes through, as is — that trans-Atlantic sentiment will only get worse. Especially with future presidents. I say this because of the NATO arms deal that is in place. We don’t have good weaponry, and this will only encourage our horrendous defense industry to continue to produce over-priced cr*p.
Other than that, this looks promising.
Energy purchases in Trump year 2, 3, 4, $250 Billion per year.
$750 Billion, total.
Meanwhile somewhere in Canada, the Canadian PM begins to think what 35% tariffs will mean to his country a bit late as he thought the EU would save him.
Here’s what I think about our VSGPDJT and this EU deal.
If Canada wants to prosper they need to be closely aligned with the USA. Their current leadership with their adversarial approach to the USA is incompetent and incredibly foolish.
My impression is that for all the nice, they simply have to feel morally superior to the US.
Was there a deal, officially or otherwise, on laundry products ?? Just asking because it sounds like our President took von der Lyin’ to the cleaners….
Trump handshake pictures are always the best hand shake pictures.
I think Ursula may have a sense of humor. Pretty sure she said this deal is YUGE!
Yes, but with the Marshall Plan we ended Europe’s military traditions…and left them sitting ducks for the Replacement Plan.
In short, we de-Nazified Europe – this is a world war on white nationalism and ancestry.
There is no rush to make a deal with Canada. Stuff the 35% on them for the rest of the year, with a possibility to negotiate (maybe) by end of 2026.
Alberta / Saskatchewan will likely separate and boom in trade as part of the United States.
