Everyone fill their gas tanks as the Iranians will likely close down the Strait of Hormuz. Oil will then go to $300 a barrel. The nuclear sites may have been taken out but it has been reported by trusted sources that Iran has many thousands of conventional missiles.

I just spoke to my Iranian friend who is our hairdresser and a dear dear sweet woman. She was given in marriage to her first cousin at the age of 15 and she fled Iran.
Her husband, now late husband, was a pilot with Iranian air force. They’d never would have let him leave there. He died there. His mother, her aunt, stole my friends property and her husband squandered her wealth.
She told me any association with Israel is punishable by death.
She can’t speak to her family, the internet has been turned off there. She does not know how her family is doing but where they live is about 5 hours from the bombed area.
The Iranian people are praying for regime change. Please God make it so and give them back their freedom.
My friend is a Christian… which too is punishable by death.

Well, that’s done. Like Sundance posted earlier, only two western leaders really matter right now: Trump and Putin. Since Iran is an ally of Russia, how will Putin react? I still suspect that Putin would prefer a secular Iran, but some kind of reaction is still expected.
I saw on X a video of Puttin saying (& I paraphrase) that nearly 2 million Russian Jews lived in Israel and he considered it part of Russia. I was surprised. I can’t find it, but did anyone else see it?
If he said that, then it might imply that Russia isn’t looking to leap to Iran’s defense. He did tell the Ayatollah that Iran is on their own against the US. It looks like the Ayatollah didn’t listen.

If those who oppose these strikes, now that they’ve happened, are still in opposition, then it would be interesting to read your thoughts on the alternative, if you support the President. Because once the President began promising dire consequences if Iran refused to negotiate away its nuclear program, the die was cast.
Let’s not misunderstand the situation. There is no scenario under which the President was going allow negotiations to end with Iran still enriching uranium. This was not going to be Obama JCPOA 2.0. The only question to be answered for the President was how quickly Iran would end its misguided quest for nuclear enrichment. THAT was the time to oppose the President, if you’re of such a mind, because Trump was not going to back down – it’s not the man we elected, you knew that. That was the time to press the President to allow the Iranians to do what they wanted while we took the position of innocent bystanders, secure in our position half a world away, at least until Iran finally developed the intercontinental ability that they were also pursuing.
The Middle East despises weakness – it’s red meat for those to whom force is the answer. Trump is not a pacifist – he never was. He hates war and that’s what drives his determination to make America so strong that no country can threaten it. But the other part of that strength is the demonstrated willingness to back up your threats. Trump threatened what would happen if Iran did not give up the pipe dream of becoming a nuclear power, at least under radical Islamists. He promised what would happen if they used the negotiation process to string the U.S. along while they continued enriching up to the point of a fait accompli. The time to press the President on this issue was before he made a promise of consequences.

If those who oppose these strikes, now that they’ve happened, are still in opposition, then it would be interesting to read your thoughts on the alternative, if you support the President. Because once the President began promising dire consequences if Iran refused to negotiate away its nuclear program, the die was cast.
Let’s not misunderstand the situation. There is no scenario under which the President was going allow negotiations to end with Iran still enriching uranium. This was not going to be Obama JCPOA 2.0. The only question to be answered for the President was how quickly Iran would end its misguided quest for nuclear enrichment. THAT was the time to oppose the President, if you’re of such a mind, because Trump was not going to back down – it’s not the man we elected, you knew that. That was the time to press the President to allow the Iranians to do what they wanted while we took the position of innocent bystanders, secure in our position half a world away, at least until Iran finally developed the intercontinental ability that they were also pursuing.
The Middle East despises weakness – it’s red meat for those to whom force is the answer. Trump is not a pacifist – he never was. He hates war and that’s what drives his determination to make America so strong that no country can threaten it. But the other part of that strength is the demonstrated willingness to back up your threats. Trump threatened what would happen if Iran did not give up the pipe dream of becoming a nuclear power, at least under radical Islamists. He promised what would happen if they used the negotiation process to string the U.S. along while they continued enriching up to the point of a fait accompli. The time to press the President on this issue was before he made a promise of consequences.
