Do Only Good Everyday — I think he tried to do something good when he worked for the administration. Washington is not a place that likes to be told they suck which Elon showed clearly. Most of the country thinks Washington sucks and they are vicious and hateful people. It is not a healthy atmosphere. I think Elon was angry about the latest bill that did not cut spending at all which, at least to my understanding, cannot be done in a reconciliation bill and needs to be done separately. He may believe that his efforts have not amounted to anything.
At very least, Elon’s efforts have shown where the waste is and who is responsible for it, so I do not think his efforts are in vain. He did some good for the cause, so I’ll cut him some slack for now. Redemption is something to believe in.
At least some of the DOGE cuts are coming to the floor this week. Maybe he will learn something about the crazy process called D.C. I think DC can drive anyone a little crazy, but drugs and Aspberger’s might not be working as he hopes. Whatever it all is, we can pray for him and hope he has, or is getting, the rest and relief that he so dearly needs.

I think it’s great that Elon apologized. I doubt that it impresses President Trump all that much, but it’s still good form for the country. Apologizing when you have been wrong shows strength, so does learning from your mistakes. So it will be interesting to see how Elon manages his own volatility going forward. My sense is President Trump has moved on, could be wrong as always.

Everyone has AI now. Prior articles discussed that the issue is not Palantir per se but rather using AI within the government. So this is simply about Musk advocating for this one? Maybe a factor but I also think Musk got too bound up in his government work, which is probably not that big a deal to him is hindsight.

I disagree. This stock is quite volatile. It hit $120 (after hours during earnings call) then went back down to $105 several trading days later earlier this year. I would state every downswing is consolidation.
My take, Elon apologized because Peter Theil sat him down (metaphorically) and spoke raw truth to him……what he said specifically I have no clue but I’m sure it was focused around the trillions at stake for both billionaires if he (Musk) continues to break ranks with PDJT……..ultimately I dont think Musk is a true MAGA disciple, he just saw an opportunity to leverage power and influence.

I saw a report Vance and Susie Wiles played peacemakers.
If that is true I do not consider this a positive development. If that is untrue but someone wants us to believe it is, I also do not consider that a positive development.
Any situation involving Vance working with the technocrats to “manage” Trump should be filed for future reference as a huge red flag, especially when Wiles is involved in the process, by those of us concerned with the health of the Fourth Amendment in the Age of AI.

Musk had a temper tantrum because he did not get what he wanted. Very rich people have this problem and wise men throughout the ages have spoken of this. The mind is very powerful due to its allure for the pleasures of the senses and the Soul must do battle with it and make it pure. Elon has Asperger’s syndrome and regularly takes ketamine for depression. My wife, a retired CRNP, says ketamine is a dangerous drug that blocks some receptors to the brain and can produce hallucinations.
The same pattern shown in Musk’s over-the-top outburst with Trump was shown in his sudden rant against Nigel Farage a few months ago and his infamous “F–k yourself in the face!” invective to H-1B visa supporters!
I listened to an interview with Elon’s father, Errol Musk, that shed light on his son’s propensity for emotional outbursts. Elon openly hates his father, (who is the same age as Trump), and has ranted about him being evil and “a terrible human being!” but Errol came across in the interview as a reasonable man who refuses to criticize his son and predicted that Elon would come to regret his comments about Trump and try to patch things up.
And that’s what’s happening.
Make of it what you will, but I wouldn’t assume Musk’s outbursts were well thought or with hidden and devious motives.
There are now so many people ‘on the spectrum’ that it’s getting to be a situation where most people have had someone with these sorts of issues in their world, and then learn to understand it as they navigate it all in their own lives.
We’re in a tough spot with this..
It’s not okay to use these issues as an excuse to let them off the hook, but then they can’t help it quite often either.
It’s one thing when it’s someone at the office with all this, it’s quite another when it’s someone like Elon Musk.

At this point in time, if there is to be an actual apology, it appears he needs to apologize to Treas. Sec. Bessent who, after (as reports have said) Elon body slammed Bessent in the hallway outside the oval office because Bessent called Musk, to his face, a fraud.
Just a personal opinion, but think Sec. Bessent recognizes a fraud when he sees one and was glad to hear what had happened to cause Musk to body slam the Secretary of Tresaury.

since Elon’s condition has been talked about in this thread, I did quick search on it and these people have difficultly socializing with people. I could see that in the Trump-Elon friendship. Trump said ELON seemed clingy … and always wanted to hang out with him. And later, it was taxing to be around Elon … and him camping out in florida, with Trump’s family.
It might have been the very first time Elon made a good friend/mentor with Trump. Trump is THE APPRENTICE … and he loves people, and tries to help them “grow up”. And Trump can be a no-nonsense type of teacher. Excellent learning experience for Elon.
Elon must have had a very hard time dealing with the Trump Team, and was probably over-whelmed some of the time. Maybe drugs and other activities help to chill him out.
Just remember people with what ELON has have a very difficult time socializing. If you have high blood pressure like I do, I have to be careful when I interact with people, because pressure builds in me, and I get pissed easily. I am aware of this, … so I had learned to see the signs and back off and meditate. 🙂

I agree – tech is highly overated. It’s more trouble than it’s worth. Stressful too. I avoid it as much as possible – but it’s getting harder by the day because it is taking over everything.
Your post caused me to wonder, along the lines of a tree crashing in the forest, if Elon had an outburst in 1994 at the Oval Office, then we might never had known about it because Twitter didn’t exist and the vast majority of people didn’t have a computer or access to the then very new internet.
In ’95 I was discussing things, a little, on NNTP and BBS, with a computer that cost me seven grand and a clunky dial up modem, which I’d mostly purchased to run my business and do computer aided design for the machine tools. I remember 1994 was the first year of using tax software, a godsend for doing business tax returns. It came on a set of floppy disks in the mail ordered out of a magazine.
Were things back then ‘better’? In some ways yeah, I think they were, mostly related to community. I think another major dive into the deep end was the smart phone that everyone could have their face in 24/7. That, in a big way, was ramrodded by another perhaps unstable genius, Steve Jobs.
People are like a box of chocolates. All of us. Perfection I leave to God. I am imperfect and flawed and a sinner.
It’s a dependence. Anything you rely upon to get you through the day can be snatched away at the drop of a hat. For me, I let booze and pills eventually get the upper hand for a while.
Relearning how to live at the same income level without the luxury of being able to “comfortably numb”nearly constant pain impulses long enough to be able to deal with clients or customers (say nothing of building things again) has been a monumental challenge.
I don’t want to lose any more skills and abilities I currently take for granted.
I certainly don’t want to abdicate any more autonomy to a godless machine that will turn on us at its earliest convenience. Booze and pills are inert substances and they wreak enough havoc as crutches.
I hate to see what tech does when we try to take our leave of it.
If you are a owners manual fix it or repair junkie the internet is truly utopia. I’m not talking about all the videos with bad advice. I mean real technical stuff from manufacturers. I have an 8 year old product with defects that the company is fixing, because of the internet.
The internet works better if you focus on your search words and don’t bother with anything “pushed” to you. Never use any companies search page. Set up your browser to use the search bar and you get what you asked for, not what somebody thinks you want.

If that is true I do not consider this a positive development. If that is untrue but someone wants us to believe it is, I also do not consider that a positive development.

I listened to an interview with Elon’s father, Errol Musk, that shed light on his son’s propensity for emotional outbursts. Elon openly hates his father, (who is the same age as Trump), and has ranted about him being evil and “a terrible human being!” but Errol came across in the interview as a reasonable man who refuses to criticize his son and predicted that Elon would come to regret his comments about Trump and try to patch things up.
And that’s what’s happening.
Make of it what you will, but I wouldn’t assume Musk’s outbursts were well thought or with hidden and devious motives.
There are now so many people ‘on the spectrum’ that it’s getting to be a situation where most people have had someone with these sorts of issues in their world, and then learn to understand it as they navigate it all in their own lives.

since Elon’s condition has been talked about in this thread, I did quick search on it and these people have difficultly socializing with people. I could see that in the Trump-Elon friendship. Trump said ELON seemed clingy … and always wanted to hang out with him. And later, it was taxing to be around Elon … and him camping out in florida, with Trump’s family.
It might have been the very first time Elon made a good friend/mentor with Trump. Trump is THE APPRENTICE … and he loves people, and tries to help them “grow up”. And Trump can be a no-nonsense type of teacher. Excellent learning experience for Elon.
Elon must have had a very hard time dealing with the Trump Team, and was probably over-whelmed some of the time. Maybe drugs and other activities help to chill him out.
Just remember people with what ELON has have a very difficult time socializing. If you have high blood pressure like I do, I have to be careful when I interact with people, because pressure builds in me, and I get pissed easily. I am aware of this, … so I had learned to see the signs and back off and meditate. 🙂

In ’95 I was discussing things, a little, on NNTP and BBS, with a computer that cost me seven grand and a clunky dial up modem, which I’d mostly purchased to run my business and do computer aided design for the machine tools. I remember 1994 was the first year of using tax software, a godsend for doing business tax returns. It came on a set of floppy disks in the mail ordered out of a magazine.
Were things back then ‘better’? In some ways yeah, I think they were, mostly related to community. I think another major dive into the deep end was the smart phone that everyone could have their face in 24/7. That, in a big way, was ramrodded by another perhaps unstable genius, Steve Jobs.
People are like a box of chocolates. All of us. Perfection I leave to God. I am imperfect and flawed and a sinner.
It’s a dependence. Anything you rely upon to get you through the day can be snatched away at the drop of a hat. For me, I let booze and pills eventually get the upper hand for a while.
Relearning how to live at the same income level without the luxury of being able to “comfortably numb”nearly constant pain impulses long enough to be able to deal with clients or customers (say nothing of building things again) has been a monumental challenge.
I don’t want to lose any more skills and abilities I currently take for granted.
I certainly don’t want to abdicate any more autonomy to a godless machine that will turn on us at its earliest convenience. Booze and pills are inert substances and they wreak enough havoc as crutches.
