It was always going to be thus. However, some who do not carry the mental fortitude to withstand the TRUTH, will proclaim they are witnessing some pre-scripted game of chess or something, where the Trump -v- Musk battle is coordinated. It is not.
President Trump delivers some further consideration about Elon Musk from his perspective.
Musk responds by accusing President Trump of being in the “Epstein files” and later calls for his impeachment and replacement with JD Vance.
If you are a long(ish) time reader of CTH, what we are witnessing is exactly what we said we would see unfold. And it is really good to see it happening now. I was not looking forward to this battle as the 2026 midterms came around, and I am thankful to our loving God for delivering it now.
The Musk, Thiel, Sacks, Andreeson et al operation cannot succeed without: (A) a distracted President Trump not seeing their schemes; and (B) without JD Vance, who they positioned for installation of their interests.
Watch JD Vance in this dynamic through the prism that Vance is on team “Tech Bros.” That will be a big tell.
Remember, ultimately the goal is for the removal of President Trump no matter what that takes; and yes, the billionaire tech bros are willing to use their financial resources to upend the 2026 midterm election in order to achieve their larger objective, control retention over policy.
Do not allow yourself time for dark imaginings, just see things through the clarity of knowing their agenda.
Not a good look for Musk. For Trump, it’s pretty much more of the same, just from a new angle. Musk strikes me as being very self-centered, in a childish sort of way.
If anyone ever wondered if Elon was “on the spectrum” this tempest-in-a-teapot should make that clear. I treasure them both for their eccentricities and for their gifts, and for the remarkable contributions they bring to modern life.
Talent does what it can. Genius does what it must.
Both are doing what they must. That will continue. Both have bigger things to do of greater consequence that any rift between them could create.

My guess is that whatever needs Elon hoped his relationship with DJT would fill:

I’m seeing a little stylistic similarity.
The Elon you’re seeing now is the Elon the man has always been. When he’s…holding it together…you get incredible space launches and virtuoso rocket maneuvers, and even a Big Balls finding budget ending graft that’s been bleeding the country dry for decades. When he loses it, you get tantrums and Epstein files and threats to help impeach the president.
Musk did the country a great service, I would never try to take away from that. And for a time, he really did look up to Trump in an almost fatherly way. But I don’t think Musk ever got used to being told ‘No’ and being the purported richest man in the world hasn’t made him more disposed to hearing it. His acting out now is childish and if he keeps it up, it’s going to come across as unhinged. Don’t be surprised if we witness some semblance of contrition at some point, he’s that mercurial.
On a side note, Massie hitching his wagon to Musk turns out to be a genius move benefitting the America First movement. We may finally not have Thomas Massie to kick around anymore, and good riddance.

For myself, I’d never kick Elon while he’s having a bad moment, so I agree with you there, our responses to him need to be measured. But the lashing out and childishness can’t be ignored or tolerated, not from an adult. Some people never learn boundaries and in his relationship with Trump, Elon had to learn hard boundaries. That can be a difficult lesson for a rich person surrounded by people trying to ingratiate themselves because of his wealth.
Pray for Elon. No one is beyond the reach of God’s grace and frankly, politics is so polarizing at times that it’s easier to circle the wagons than think rationally. The God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills is not impressed one whit with Elon’s wealth but he does love the man. A measured response here to Musk’s provocations of the moment could pay dividends in the end, in many ways.

Genius and popularity are often disparate states of being. Elon found a mix that worked in modern society. Apparently over 100,000 humans find his mix palatable enough to deal with it on a daily basis as employees. That’s pretty impressive.
As a comparison, PDJT has roughly 20% of that employee army. He has his own unique personality too and similar mix of genius and popularity even if with different focus. Elon is about the age of most of my friend’s kids. PDJT is nearly 80. It is what it is. Change is inevitable.
