Watch JD Vance in this dynamic through the prism that Vance is on team “Tech Bros.” That will be a big tell.
Remember, ultimately the goal is for the removal of President Trump no matter what that takes; and yes, the billionaire tech bros are willing to use their financial resources to upend the 2026 midterm election in order to achieve their larger objective, control retention over policy.

I think a few cabinet heads should gather the already-out-there research which shows detrimental effects of Attempted Intelligence becoming ubiquitous— such as to natural resources (EPA), energy requirements (DOE), use of highways/ air transportation safety issues (DOT) etc. . .
It is not AI that is scary. It is AI plus robotics that is powerful AI by itself is a tool and robotics by itself is a tool. Together they can do much of what humans do for jobs. But just like current software, AI will have bugs that need fixing; and just like other machines, robots will break down and need repair. Because AI is written by people, it will have biases. There needs to be a human in the loop to address machine malfunction, software bugs and bias. The idea of letting this software run the country only sounds good for the bottom line, otherwise, it is one of those phone menus that has no option for the particular function you need performed and no option for human intervention.

I had hoped that Musk would do what is best for the country. He helped Trump get elected, uncovered a lot of fraud inside the government with DOGE (or at least showed how fraud could be uncovered), rescued astronauts from space and seemed to have genuine affection for the Trump family. The Trump family welcomed him in by all appearances.
He overpromised with DOGE, though I believe there is at least 30% of spending that can be removed from the system, more likely 50%, but to promise 1000 billion dollars in savings and deliver 160 billion is falling short. 160 billion is a good start, but it takes more than 130 days to extract serious money from bureaucrats that don’t want you to do so, especially if it means loosing that cushy job. I believe eventually a trillion in fraud can be found, but it will not be as easy as Musk made it sound.
But the torching of what seemed to be a genuine friendship for so little gain seems very short sighted. If he had just gone back to his businesses , turned into a consultant and backed MAGA candidates in the midterms the country would be much better off. I was hoping that he would be a Mench, but I was mistaken.

I will say again, the ones that were egging Elon Musk on, Thomas Massie and Rand Paul, do not get along with others well.
They are divisive and usually the ones squawking about something but not putting in the work to get something that others agree with over the finish line. You have to build consensus. They don’t appear willing or able to do so.

You have to be able to work with others to affect change when you are part of a governing body.

I listened to the speech by Massie someone posted and it is fantastic. I can see why he has such overwhelming support from his constituents. It embodies much of what I believe is American ingenuity and brilliance.
However, I do not know of any legislation he has sponsored that has passed the House.
His support of Ron de Santis never made any sense to me as the connections RDS had are anathema to me.

The story (might be true or not) is the fbi is not the sole arbiter of the classified Epstein material. They have declassified to the extent they can, and it is also being declassified by other agencies with classification authority over it. Sounds plausible to me, but time will tell. I think everyone should just grab a chair and pour a nice drinkie and relax. This is playing like some scripted political theater, although it’s likely not. I will say whatever sparked this was from inside team Trump or the GOP. We saw all the rats and finks that littered Trump’s first term and the idea that he doesn’t have any of those types now in his inner circle is pretty naive.
Musk has always been a weird guy. He and Trump were in a bromance for 8 months and now it’s splitsville, just like that? Nonsense. Someone torpedoed this from the inside, either inside Trump’s team or the GOP. Don’t forget, the GOP was living large on all the fraud DOGE uncovered. You think they weren’t murder-mad at Musk? Do any of you really think all these DOGE cuts are gonna become laws passed by congress? If you do, you must be new to this site and just learning about the GOP.
Last quick point, people have said in several places that Musk has Asperger’s Syndrome. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but if it is, it’s a serious thing and he deserves some space. I think it was the combination of the Trump admin endorsing the large Sam Altman A.I. deal. Elon & Sam really hate each other with a passion. Elon was involved in OpenAI and left when Sam flipped the script from open to profitable. Then they cancel the EV mandate subsidies which are HUGE. Our tax dollars are slashing the cost of a Tesla for the consumer. During Biden every auto-manufacturer embraced EVs. Yet, they were sitting on dealership lots. Nobody was buying them. The range isn’t there yet and the battery tech is still way too dangerous in that it often catches fire. One Tesla driver stopped at an intersection and his Tesla just died instantly. He couldn’t roll down the windows nor open the door (there is a safety system but the driver never read the owners manual). Meanwhile smoke is pouring out of his Tesla. He had to kick out the window to escape. The car was engulfed in flames before he had a chance to try to rescue his golf clubs in the trunk. He called the fire department but by the time they got there, it has practically burned to the ground. The vehicle was maybe a month old.
There is better battery tech that is safe, you can drive a nail through a battery and it won’t burst into flames. But all these better designs are patented and would be extremely expensive to adopt while paying a high royalty.
EV’s have yet to come of age. The other problem is buying a used EV not from a dealer who replaces the battery pack before they sell it. So you buy a used EV and in a few months the battery pack fails. Now what? The battery pack costs more than a new gasoline powered vehicle.
EV’s in China burst into flames far more often as they frequently cut corners on safety. Now imagine one of these EV’s catching fire in an underground garage. It would cook all the vehicles nearby and cause a chain reaction and it’s going to be extremely difficult to extinguish. After an EV accident the vehicle is towed to an outdoor lot. One Tesla caught fire over and over every few days. They had to dig a pit, line it with tarps and fill the pit with water then push the vehicle till it was submerged. In Europe they have a big truck filled with water for this purpose. You have to stop the smoldering chain reaction running through the cells of which there are several thousand cells.
Okay. Now I am wondering: what happens to that Golden Key to the WH given to Musk by the Prez.
JD Vance needs Trump’s endorsement to get the nomination in 2028. Therefore he cannot openly side with Musk against Trump.

Musk is acting like a petulant juvenile throwing a tantrum. Well that behavior was emblematic of DeSantis, his sycophants and the Sea Island globalist donor folk (including Musk).
