The flaw in that logic is in thinking “the senators” want a peaceful, non-AIPAC, resolution to the “Iran problem”.

I don’t see Russia being able to assist with Iran until Ukraine is resolved. This is the tight spot Trump is in where he wants to avoid war with Iran but also needs Russia to assist with the Iranian enrichment conundrum. That requires Russia to come interns in Ukraine.
But you have the NeoCons who want war with Iran and who are using Ukraine to keep Russia from settling peace terms. The attacks against Russia have the hallmarks of a Mossad operation. I frankly do not believe that Ukraine was clever enough to pull off such an attack in Russia without assistance from an elite intelligence agency whether it was CIA (doubtful), MI6 (strong possibility) or Mossad.
Of course nothing precludes a combo of intel agencies from working together on such an attack either! Israel directly stands to benefit if the Russian are not able to help bring Iran to a nuclear deal. The UK would know the movements and whereabouts of the Russian strategic bombers as well as the USA. Mossad perhaps provided the technical capabilities with the drones and comms (think beeper attacks) as well as logistics within Russia.

I agree with most of it. The exception is with President Trump creating an America First / Nationalist movement. The movement was here before President Trump came onto the scene. What President Trump did with his resources and dynamic personality was to give it a de facto leader and a global voice.

Historically, and my existence is a relatively brief seven decades, my read on contemporaries is that it is what it is and I’m going to live for myself without regard to any greater moral or spiritual imperative.
Being at odds with that creates social friction and consequences like isolation. I’ve experienced that personally. It first found me when rubbing elbows with the confessional crowd that lived a largely hypocritical life and absolved themselves weekly of their ‘imperfections’.
We’re all sinners so live it up. Take as much advantage as possible. Morals are fungible.
If adopted widely, it becomes a culture in decline. Institutionalizing it, amorality or immorality, into the power structure is in my opinion dangerous to the very health of the population.
I go back to Sundance’s recent article about visiting Washington and my ‘walls and fences’ test comparing it to Moscow. Readers can go back and view movies of Washington from decades in the past, even difficult times, and compare to now. Why the walls and fences now? Signs of the times.
Reflecting on the post caused me to put on the recent prep for their Victory Day in Moscow, mostly to look at the people and buildings and fences and walls and cops. Reminded me of tanks in the streets in D.C. for JFK’s inaugural parade.
I’ve lived just outside of DC for 60+ years. There are literally no walls and fences up, and most things are easily accessible. DC has never looked more beautiful.

The warmongers must be beside themself. They never have had a President that cannot be manipulated.

For decades, since the mullahs took over Iran they have attacked the US repeatedly directly and through proxies(hostage crisis, 200 marines in Lebanon, etc.) and we never did anything serious about it. Although I expect a deal can be made I have zero faith it will stop their attacks and nuclear weapons quest and zero belief that they won’t use the weapons as blackmail or in fact. Their history and driving ideology is clear so it is foolish to expect them to change. Wishing and hoping is futile and delusional.
Same US Senators who have not only dyed their skin in the blood of many Nations, but who have lusted after war, in particular with Russia & Iran, for a very, very long time…

Putin knows that nothing has change. The President is not in charge.
Putin actually spoke about it. He said Clinton was personally not opposed to letting Russia join NATO, then his advisors/handlers chimed in and he said ‘no can’t do.’
Couple of important between the lines message in my opinion. Putin is going to get his ‘pound of flesh’ and President Trump isn’t going to try to interfere. Second, they can be allies, if certain situations are addressed.
