It is alarming how President Trump is calling for ceasefire talks while the U.S. government is simultaneously providing Ukraine with either fighter jets or M9 Reaper Drones to fly against Russia.
The stunning image captured in Arizona shows a Ukrainian Antonoff 225 the biggest transport plane, operated by Ukrainian transport company, being loaded with either M9 Reaper Drones (see picture below) or F-16/35 fighter jets.
In the background left (red tractor flatbed) you can see either an M9 Reaper drone or U.S. fighter ready for transport (white wrapped). Toward the rear of the Antonoff cargo plane you can see another (black tractor flatbed). Both aerial war assets are being loaded into the Antonoff 225 transport, and there are likely more not visible in the picture.

Some users on Twitter have said the cargo looks more like F-16 or F-35 fighter jets; that’s entirely possible. However, when you look closely at the profile and the component parts visible near the forklift it seems more likely to be M9 Reaper Drone component parts (look closely) and see below for comparative assembled imagery.

They are a fighter fuselage. They don’t match the Reaper silhouette. Not sure why they are sending unassembled aircraft, as it’s more normal for fighter aircraft already operational and ready for combat to be ferried over the ocean with support from airborne tankers.
Saw this in person back in 1979 while going temporary duty to Guam and the KC-135 I was taking to Hawaii was ferrying two fighters there.

those are definitely not F-16’s. Too angular to be F-16’s. They look like the F-35, not a drone. (Husband was an F-18 guy & then worked at Lockheed on the F-35 program. and for lots of other reasons: Ukraine military has no pedigree or relevant training in them…it would take not just years to get up to speed training to create effectiveness, but it would also be considered a poor judgement for US military to give that kind of know how to a country that isn’t exactly known for being very careful about opsec. (everything can be sold in UKR and in a war, everything does get sold/traded).
the other reason is that these platforms are better suited in a geo political setting as NATO assets in a defensive/surveillance posture. Destination Poland pretty much hints at that aim…to add assets to Poland as a detergent for spillover from the UKR and Russian theater of operations. The reaper “can” be made to surveill a far larger area at great distance. but it really needs support aircraft specifically the T-soar packaged 16 platform to make it effective and avoid detection. some of this is open source ..other items cannot be discussed.
This war is like all others…no matter who the president is in the White House. There are many agreements that were likely made in hard blood before President Trump took office. It would be highly unusual not to honor some of them. We only get to see the political rhetoric and the gestures of peace talks through economic sanctions and tariffss. but even those are not completely effective when you consider for a moment the reality is that frankly there is nothing the west can do to Russia in that respect it hasn’t already exhausted. This is not to suggest that we return to a war machine again, but to put some reality back into the discussion. at the end of the day, this President has two options …continue on a peace negotiating strategy, but also giving in to some of the nato demands/contracts that were sewn in by the former regimes under joe malarkey. or he can just say eff it and walk away and leave everyone else holding the bag. And as much as everyone seems to believe the latter strategy is the best, it isn’t realistic. Why?

what President Trump must do in order to represent the economic national security of the US, and also our oil trading partners, is to have a trade treaty established with Russia to broker this peace. it literally means he will have to engage Russia oil and start contracts. russia got a “taste” of what actual first world level power really is when the sanctions happened. They began increasing sales of oil and gas to China and broke all former records of profit margins. Some might laugh at “only” 55 Billion dollars in sales in one year, but this would be essentially 200 percent over sales from the prior year to NON-EU customers. This happened because China and Russia coordinated the construction of a massive oil pipeline across a vast and incredibly diverse terra into china proper from the Urals.
To suggest Russia will fold cards to the demands of this Administration is laughable. It has experienced record margin profits that allow it to continue to prosper and thrive AND China is willing to bank roll that same industry as well. In return, Russia will get all the military and tech it needs from China to support this war, but more importantly to advance it’s status as a proper first world order nation. Russia has never had the one thing it needed to become a true first world power: an energy industry established as a global market maker. (yes, this “NEW” definition, eliminates quite a few countries that presume to be, or we are told that are first world powers…just having a strong military, a good ag industry and some nukes does not make you first world power. It’s energy that is the cinch pin. And Russia has that in spades. It just needs a way to transport it to some of the more profitable regions…China, while a great client is a very costly client…thousands of miles of pipeline has it’s costs!

on average the cost of pulling oil out of the ground in Saudi Arabia ranges between 2 and 10 dollars (USD).
Venezuela does it at between 5 and 12.
Canada and the US can’t seem to make it happen until about 30-50 bucks…
Russia is able to do it at 7-12.
in terms of total output, Russia is posed to be competitive with venezuela in terms of size of potential total resources that remain untapped. But the difference is that almost ALL of Russian oil and natural gas can be extracted from a region that happens to be land mass attached to nearly every major energy market in the north hemisphere, excepts for the US and NA. Venezuela could not compete for the simple reasons that transporting via vessel traffic is very expensive, subject to disruptions because well, it’s venezuela, a very corrupt country, completely overrun by pirates and criminals …probably more corrupt that Mexico by US standards.
so yes, it does not matter what President of the US is “in office”. Russia has standing. They declared that standing the moment they used military operations to take land and control Ukraine. The double down by dealing with China during “sanctions”, that have not been effective because they are stupid sanctions….

I will state with some certainty, that there are no Reapers currently being stored at the boneyard.
Reapers are state of the art UAVs and the chances of any being stored at Davis Monthan are slim to none.
Others have already posted pictures of F-16s and there’s a better than good chance that’s what we are seeing.
Generally, boneyard aircraft are flown there, then major components (engines, avionics modules, instrumentation, hydraulic and pneumatic parts) are stripped from them to fulfill supply chain shortages. But, that doesn’t mean a certain number have been preserved complete for those “just in case” situations.
I’m just having a hard time understanding why they would send boneyard fuselages when they could just ferry operational aircraft to Poland out of Ramstein or some other European airbase we occupy.

But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t tickle Ukrainian soldiers to observe a scooter assault. “You’re f****** kidding me,” one Ukrainian trooper mused (in a video translated by WarTranslated) as he watched a drone feed depicting Russians scooting toward the front line on their two-wheeled, rechargeable vehicles.
There’s no evidence these particular scooter troops came to a bad end. But plenty of the two-wheel peers have died violently trying and failing to cross the mine-seeded, artillery-pocked, drone-patrolled front line in western Russia and eastern and southern Ukraine.

This shipment apparently started at TUS (Tucson – Davis-Monthan AFB). That’s where “The Boneyard” is and where we store “old” F-16’s along w/ hundreds of other retired, cashiered, or obsolete aircraft — mostly former US military and most of them headed for the cutting torch. I’ve seen many of the aircraft I used to “ride to the sound of the guns” sitting there, baking in the hot AZ sun while awaiting their final disposition.
For a former military pilot … it’s sad to see your “old friends” go that way …
