Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spins a tale of Automaker Stellantis temporarily shutting down auto plants in Canada and Mexico as an outcome of President Trump’s tariffs. Unfortunately, the gaslighting by Carney might work on less intellectual SnowMexicans, but it fails here.
Stellantis, an EU centered auto company who sell Dodge, Ram (made in Mexico) and Dodge, Durango (made in Canada), have been in a deepening crisis for over a year as a result of poor brand management, poor development and weak North American sales. In short, their cars and trucks are not selling, that’s why the CEO quit in December, and they fired and replaced the North American leadership team. It has nothing to do with Trump’s auto tariffs against Mexico and Canada.
That said, Mark Carney used the Stellantis plant closing (Windsor) as cover to announce that Canada would match the auto-tariffs with a 25% countervailing duty against all U.S. made cars and trucks. [Prompted]
This approach only raises the ceiling for the U.S. tariffs against Canada. Quite frankly, I’m not sure why President Trump would continue to play this game with Carney and should (for the sake of simplicity) just cancel all trade with Canada and begin an immediate embargo and border blockade.
Tell the Carney clown to stay at home, shut it all down and let the Canadians live as a sovereign nation under the rule and regulation of the EU while they continue to destroy their energy resources and import foreign workers. It’s silly to keep entertaining Canada as if they really matter.
If it wasn’t for the national security threat they could represent on our border, Canada would likely get little policy attention from any administration. The Trudeau/Carney’s of the world are just annoying now. Sorry Canada, but this Carney guy is even worse than the last Prime Minister. They won’t even say “USMCA” because it’s Trump or something. So, Carney says “CUSMA” 😂🤣😂 Childish, silly and so typically leftist. Too funny!

Canadians are good people but unfortunately, they are led by idiots.
I agree, Canadians throw off your Leftist Masters, …. understand we were in your position, when we made the mistake of electing Obama and then Biden. Wake up Canadians and stand with MAGA … and Make Canada Great Again! 🙂
I think it might be the plan to wake the people of Canada up.
You have to realize that Americans were quite lucky to have a candidate as formidable and exceptional as Trump, able to overcome criminal political indictments and election fraud – other nations are not as lucky, and the same tricks that kept the Tea Party suppressed, and which robbed Trump of his second consecutive term, unfortunately work in these other countries. It may be time for us to come to the realization that the formerly Western “democracies” may not be quite so democratic after all.
We did not elect Biden!!!
@_johnnymaga
The “experts” told us that tariffs would be passed on the consumers as massive taxes.
Ford just announced employee pricing to all U.S. customers for the next few months.
Trump was right again. Americans are not bearing the brunt of these tariffs.
The idea that Americans would bear the brunt of the tariffs was never logical and it is a disgrace that the Republican Party did not attack it more.
If a car from China suddenly becomes more expensive, the US consumer will simply shift to whichever nation is next cheapest. There are hundreds of countries to choose from.
Of course in the aggregate, prices will rise. They simply must in order to provide a middle-class lifestyle. But if Trump is successful in launching a renaissance of high-value jobs in America, then WAGES will also rise, and that is the part that the treasonous, boot-licking shills for China won’t mention, because ultimately a price for a product is meaningless if a wage is high enough to handle it.
What about people on a fixed income such as social security, etc.?
The impact on that demographic needs to be considered. Might that be related to some administration mentions of tax-free social security?
Everyone is on a fixed income. Salaries/wages don’t change because prices changed. That should have been clear during bidenflation.
We all buy what we can afford to buy not necessarily what we want.
Those are the real questions. Do I need it or want it? Can I afford it or not?
Exactly.
Not true. Those younger and still in the work force have the ability to work additional hours, etc.
we old people are literally stuck. We saved, invested in z401’s, because employing longer have real retirement programs
And I’m too old to work. I retired at 71 as a nurse. I’m tired, and I’m tired of my money disappearing .
ENOUGH!!!
Using President Trump’s last term as a guide, when the other nations devalue their currencies to try and dull the effect of US tarrifs, the US imports deflation, increasing the value of savings and increasing your purchasing power. So, the retired will benefit as will the employed.
Not to mention his plan to remove taxes on social security.
All money that I already earned and paid taxes on – now being double-dipped by the swamp.
PDJT sees this problem clearly.
PJDT sees this Criminality clearly.
If you are “tired” at 71, you have not been taking good care of your ‘self’. I worked in healthcare, and practically every nurse I worked with, smoked.
Which same should be taught and LEARNED in grade school, but more logically in THE HOME. “keeping up with the Jones'” is economic suicide.
I think there is a very good chance that President Trump and team will make a positive difference for the middle class. We’ve been under the gun too long.
He already did in his first term.
This is part two.
Explain
Probably Stellantis related.
Sassy is a troll here.
I understand what you are saying, but the term “fixed income” can really be applied to anyone paid an annual salary & is not on commission .
Would you saddle future generations with globalist tyranny and jeopardize national security for the sake of cheaper goods from China?
So….what Americans benefited for more than 30 years of killing American jobs and sending them to China and Mexico?
That very valid point seems to be overlooked by many.
If tax rates are lowered and taxable wage thresholds raised, and, no tax on social security (as was the case 40 years ago) then retirees in particular will see relief.
With the POS RINO Sellout TDS Traitors we have, who needs enemies?
Everyone’s canoe is taking on water ma’am..
For now. The long game is underway and a rising tide will lift all canoes. 🇺🇸 😉
Aye. I’ve been on crisis footing for several years now and The Creator Has Seen me Through sure enough. I have definitely learned to manage my expectations.
There was a discussion on Tues OT that might interest you:

Ask yourself, where did all the supposed funds go to? Look no further than what DOGE has uncovered regarding the spending activities of the Biden adminstration and other Democrat endeavors as to who pillaged US taxpayer dollars. Plus don’t forget the millions who are fradulent recipients of Social Security and Medicare funding that is now being rectified. It took four years of Democrat actions and policies to erase the economic boom created under DJT’s first term and it’s going to take more than three months to correct it.
Well, it is part of a package, and the administration knows that. Which is why “no taxes on SS” is part of the economic plan. And also consider that SS recipients, in addition to the just mentioned, will still get their regular COLA’s. We just need the congress to wean itself away from the interests of the globalist grifters who’ve infested that body for too long and advance the President’s economic plan.
J
Agree J, But a whole slew of retirees pay no taxes because they don’t have the higher income.
Whatever this Admin does to eliminate the onerous ‘filling out of tax forms’… I’m for it!
AS I and my wife are 80, and 79, we worked, I from the age of 10, she from the same caring for her father who died soon after. The Social Security program has been bled by both sides of the isle, in ways. While I retired as a Military correlative analyst, I am in general comfortable with the Presidents obvious planning prior to the election.
Congress must stay out of the Funding Process, while tariffs gain more traction, along with the other weight loss programs going on.
The best thing anyone can do in this tumultuous period, is gain some positive ability to help others, as WE must succeed in 2026.
There are two rules in operation: The Social-ism push requires Emotion words, and then violence. The Constitutional position typically is: see the problem, work out a possible solution,, use the solution, let the solution go to work and then go home.
Social-ism requires the continuing “Revolution” ( dysfunctionally termed progress ) so, they push a non-solution solution with glowing words, and when it stalls, double down, call for more funding for a now obvious
failure. This is repeated. Logic, must begin to use this process, in language to rebut the emotional not logical words.
For example: the use of Liberal to sell themselves – There aren’t any alive now in the main. Philanthropic Foundations have been corrupted for years. Alger hiss( Communist ) was Director of the Carnegie Foundation.
For example: Use illiberal, as they use your sweat earned money against you at every turn. So they are illiberal,
for none of the money they provide is there’s. For the Socialist, language is code for the Revolution, wherever it is needed.
The word conservative is divisive in the language, liberal the positive. There is no definition for Social Justice,
“it’s for the Children” is a famous one used continuously. Control and then money –
Democracy is another, being a daily recent insertion, seen everywhere today, when that is like saying Ford is actually a Chevrolet – WE are a Representative Republic — just look for this daily. The reason for the word Democracy in language is to promote Democrats to the unwary, and students in the beginning. Forget the fact
that every liberal Arts college is simply that. An illiberal institution, and the major are junk yards – Why I suggest is anyone with a “College Participation Certificate” evaluate their learning on this basis: Since Social-ism was being aught in at least 150 major Colleges by 1935, what percentage of Social-ism were you inculcated in as the percentage of Social-ism in College education rose year after year. The factual evidence is clear in media today.
Great post, Thanks. btw, “none of the money they provide is there’s” (theirs)
Tax free social security, the COLA being realistically calculated to increase SS payments, commesurate with the true increase in the cost of living, and no property tax for those over 65…
.my wife is on s.s. and everytime she gets the COLA they raise the cost of her plan B and health care supplement almost exactly the same amount of the cola.so her monthly check pretty much stays the same.
Consider dripping sick care and focus on nutrition. nutrition is hard work and easy to fall off of the band wagon, but today’s medical services are not to be trusted at all. Keep your immune system healthy, keep your body’s acidity hostile to cancer and get outside as often as you can. accidents happen and that sort of thing (breaks, cuts, scrapes) are all that medical services can be trusted for… for anything that looks like illness, all drugs are treatments now and none are cures.
Then the COLA will be meaningful again.
I’m getting older and older too. I don’t bounce the way I used to. I don’t recover the way I used to. I compensate by being a little more careful, a little more accepting of consequences and a lot more aware of what my body is telling me. (ignoring pain and other symptoms is no longer useful when you don’t heal as well as you once did)
Yep!
Yep.
I have to the question, whatever happened to those who are retired and their families?
Don’t remember all that hand wringing when those of us on fixed incomes got hammered by gas prices, energy prices, insurance prices, and food prices. Most imports are not daily necessities. Most of us do not need a new car or the latest fashion from Bangladesh.
As a Senion on a fixed income I wonder if we’ll survive when “prices will rise”…inflation has already been difficult.
I understand, but this is not necessarily “inflation” per se – but a one-time rise in the cost of goods.
That being said, I fully understand your concern as a senior. I would just say this: if the present situation continues, the currency would be depreciated irregardless and your current SS income would be further destroyed. The ONLY solution to preserving the value of your SS is to stop the depreciation of the US Dollar, which means stopping the borrowing, and the only way that is possible is by increasing revenues enough, which is only possible by stopping the wealth from leaving the nation via trade deficits, which means by default bringing manufacturing home.
After the re-adjustment period, if Trump is successful and is able to stop the borrowing, the depreciation of your current SS should at the very least stop. If he is able to drastically drop the cost of goods through expanded energy supply and elimination of onerous regulations, prices should further drop and possibly even lead to deflation, INCREASING the value of your SS Dollar.
The other thing that occurs when a nation makes things, as in actually manufactures them, is that productivity increases tend to be reflected in further prices decreases for the public, meaning further deflation. I understand the current switch from a slave labor wage to an American wage “may” be an adjustment, but it is the only option that even has a chance at saving the US Dollar, the US Treasury, and by extension your Social Security. But I do feel your pain. *hugs*
During President Trump’s first term, his tariffs against China forced the ChiComs to devalue their currency to protect their economy. We imported deflation from China.
I’m very optimistic about the future for all demographics in America.
Well, maybe not the UniParty demographic.
regardless… lol
Right!!!
When your Country, through its policies, reduces the purchasing value of its currency, everyone is presented with that ‘difficulty’.
Buying a Dodge Ram pickup, with a few goodies, runs well over 55K and up in Canada. Any Jeep is that and more, and they are not all that great in regards to dependability. Ive had friend’s buy a few in the last several years. Nothing but problems.
Then they wonder why no one is buying them.
Buying any truck in Canada, doesn’t matter which model, sets you back a pretty dollar…I drive a 13 year old GMC Sierra, loaded, with a short box. Been really good to me, no major issues, but the body is rusting pretty bad now. Cheap metal, cheap paint. Its pretty brutal.
I only paid 29,000 brand new, 1 year out of stock. Bought in January, they really wanted to get rid of the 1 year old trucks. That model was 45K plus 2 months prior. Tells you all you need to know about markup.
Carney is a WEF clown.
All us Snexicans can do, is pray the librats dont win again.
If they do, well, we are toasted. Not sure what else to say. This country is a mess. Due to weak effeminate WEF bootlickers.
C’est la vie…..
Followed by, c’est la guerre
Hang in there bro! “Snexican” is pure genius! 🤣🤣
I bought a new Dodge 1500 Quad cab in 2003. In Northern Minnesota it took 10 years for it to be completely rusted out. Nursed it to 240,000 miles. Paid $35,000 back then. Since then i bought an old 1990 Dodge W250 that had 42,000 original miles from Lostine, Or. No rust so not driving it in the winter. Bought a 99 GMC Jimmy for a winter beater. It also came from out west with no rust.
I’m close to retirement and looking at newer trucks again. Chevrolets have junk transmissions. Ford are hard to find in a V8. No ecoboost crap for me. So Dodge is a viable option that i wouldn’t drive in the winter. Still running that Hemi and seem to be more reliable than the others. I’m hoping the prices come down a lot.
I’m not convinced that President Trump is going to allow Canada to be taken.
The “experts” are shills for the multinational corporations and globalist banksters. They’ve been screwing Main Street for decades.
Anybody know what the “employee pricing” reality is?
Since 2010 the Durango has been made in Detroit. The new electric Charger is made in Windsor, and may be a factor in shutting down that plant for awhile-demand.
Probably, since some companies went all in on the EV madness which never panned out. This was due to the Green New DEal or Inflation Reduction Act, misnomer for sure.
Nobody wants to rely on EV’s when it’s 10 below zero outside, or gets salt water combustion from flooding near the FL coastline. They should never have been mandated to auto companies and forced on the public. Choice is the name of the game and people will buy what makes sense to them.
They can keep em! Chargers should have 1000hp Hemi “Helliphant” engines or nothing at all!
Remember this one?
The E- Charger is not selling well. The ICE version is not available yet.
Shutting down the plant was an inventory based decision, not tariff based.

Trump aimed for lower long term yields , big saving on interest payments , organic economic stimulus, he got it.
Lower USD, make US goods more attractive , he did it.
Lower deficits , he is getting it !
will implement tax cuts to stimulate more because all other policies create enough room for stimulation
Important thing is, there is a fine line between inflation and stagflation. We will briefly enter stagflation and there will be panic. but it wont take more than a quarter or two
I posted this earlier in another thread. Synced with ya. 👍
PDJT has some brilliant people working with him. Scott Bessent is definitely in the top 1% of his cabinet/advisor roles. There will be some disruption over the next several months and even over the next several years.
A World War II trade disadvantage and lack of seasoned business savvy US trade rep’s AND Presidents over the course of that time span cannot be undone instantaneously. There will be bumps and canyons in the road ahead.
PDJT is the only guy who has demonstrated the business/genius acumen to steer the US in the right direction and make the necessary adjustments, so We the People can experience this Golden Age of MAGA/MAHA/MAWA.
😁🤣 PDJT may have the absolute possibility of seeing a 3rd term! Watching the liberal heads 🤯. 💪🏼😁😂😂
I don’t have several years
I already lost tons in 2008, 2012
Sorry but this is BS
If you are talking the stock market, that is your choice. It didn’t take several years to make back what I lost in 2000, 2008, and 2012.
Their post doesn’t make any sense. The only way something like that happens is when people make emotional trading decisions (ie. shifting all their investments to cash). It has been proven over and over again to never time the market. Dollar cost average and hold course. If you look at a long-term chart of the S&P, these fluctuations are mere blips. Stay in low cost index funds, and you’ll trend with the market.
Well it did me and my choice was to invest in
My companies 403b, as their retirement programs disappeared, like 75% of other businesses.
I couldn’t invest aggressively after losing so much x2, so I couldn’t make it back
Good for you but many of us are screwed
This does not make any sense. Sorry.
It makes total sense. Got to have money to make money
Not to be rude, but it isn’t all about you. So many selfish people who think the status quo must remain, because god forbid they endure any type of hardship. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good. I read about so many people on a “fixed income,” which is a nice way of saving they didn’t save a dime for their later years. You cannot rely solely on social security.
Sorry, it is all about me right now.
I worked all my life, saved, saved, yeah made a few mistakes, but the economy beat us up pretty good too.
My husband is ill but still working
G at 73. When does he get to enjoy life?
Your post sounds very entitled, and I don’t see you taking any personal responsibility. The sooner you stop blaming everyone else for your difficulties, the faster you can work to improve your situation. My best advice to you is to reduce expenses, increase income, and downsize if you’re in a larger home. It sounds like your financial challenges have been an issue well before President Trump entered the picture. I’ve learned very quickly that the world doesn’t revolve around myself or anyone else. We’re responsible for our own situation.
Entitled?
I should end up in a flip house, take o e for the team
Get a Covid shot so granny doesn’t die
Do you hear yourself?
Your rude and extremely disrespectful
Sensible advice, Chris. She is not listening.
I am 76 1/2 and still working – sometimes 60 hours a week. I am happy and very proud of this and that is enjoying life!
Good for you. I had breast cancer , late stage that destroyed my ability to keep working past 71
And because of the treatment my immune system was compromised and I got pneumonia, which was so severe it turned into AFib and I was taken to the ER at 3 in the morning, converted in the hospital. Was inpatient in the bospital hospital for a week.
It took several months to feel semi good.
The first question my floor nurse asked me was , “ do you want to be resuscitated if you code”…
Wasn’t a great way to start a professional relationship
I’ve exercised all
My like, swim, bike , Pickelball, played soccer on 3 teams at the same time, for 12 years form 39-51
Eat pretty good
But you never know
I am posting this because , although I’m glad that one can be 76 amd still working and loving it, I think that was posted as, “im better than you”
Your not…
Are you stating that a man of 73 has not learned any way to “enjoy life” during that period of time? The key here, is to enjoy “LIFE.” Suggestion: take a step outside, look up at the sky, the trees, breathe deeply, and give thanks that you do not live in some of the real hellholes of the World. btw, throw out your TV, and take up reading.
You have not been hurting the last three years?
We lost in those downturns too but have since made it all back and more. The market fluctuates all the time. Watch and see. Pres. Trump warned on several occasions that initially it will be a bumpy road after the tariffs but to be patient a bit and stick with his policies. Of course the enemy will try and say the sky is falling every time there’s a blip of a down cycle in the markets. In reality, there is always something challenging for the markets to react to and they do.
Not sure why you didn’t recover from those earlier dips but most people who didn’t sell out on everything have been rewarded quite well. The markets were at high valuation and probably need a correction anyway.
Maybe it’s time for everyone invested to look at buying some solid stocks that are lower in price right now but only if you can for your situation, research thoroughly before doing so. It’s up to you and no financial advice is coming from me to your personal situation. Just commenting in general about buying on dips in the market. Not right for everyone of course.
There just might be opportunity though for investment gains going forward.
I don’t have any extra to buy on the dip
Geez
As an 80 year old Banker and Military Analyst ( in stuff ). You lost in another planet orbit – Obama, is a flat Communist, and followers in congress, ( social -ists, are not far behind.) Learn the difference between “emotion” and “Logic” in political lexicon. Being for the group, is Social-ism while being for the individual is Republican-ism. The Founding Documents were rules for stable & moral society. Social-ism – not at all.
Being Military, I am in oath to the Founding Documents, not Party. That being noted, losses you suffered came from Social-ism ( Medical ), ( education ) Federal Reserve tightening ( a decision ) etc.
While at 80 & change time is short, the regaining what the bad decisions have cost us, is imperative.
Possibly
In all seriousness, I have been thinking about following some of the congress critters in their trades.
I’ll do you one better. Buy low cost index funds (ie. one that tracks the S&P ideally). Long-term, you will do better than any of the Congress critters. You’ll also save money by not using a financial “advisor.” I put advisor in quotes, because most are not fiduciaries. They’re good at selling you products with high fees/commissions.
Right, but they have the insider timing.. you’ll only k le about Nazi nans choices after the facts
Give it a few weeks before total panic.
2008.
2012.
You could sell now, hold the cash, wait for the market to begin to climb as your purchase signal.
People have wondered why Buffet sold so many holdings and is sitting on $$illion in cash….he knew one way or the other this was coming and he prepared for it.
Many others are also sitting patiently waiting.
Some founding fathers lost their fortunes and others their lives. I think we can handle it.
“lack of seasoned business savvy US trade rep’s”
May I suggest US Politicians had plenty of trade reps with savvy. They wanted to profit from making stuff in Foreign Countries and with “Free Trade” swamping the airwaves. Killing American jobs, families and communities mattered not at all as “Foundations”, “NPRs” made US Politicians and Globalist Corporations profited from the dying of America.
I suspect it’ll be like egg prices. A temporary disruption as supply chains adjust.
The thing that’ll shock people is that suddenly all those Chinese products on Amazon are either going to jump in price or go away entirely.
I won’t miss them. So tired of seeing these ripoff products at the top of the search results. I like how they often copy the color scheme of a well-known brand within the niche to try to deceive potential buyers.
The absolute worst was trying to pass off a chainsaw with a Stihl bar attached to the Chinese manufacture powerhead as a “Stihl” saw. Colors matched but the reliability and quality wasn’t close.
If you’ll pardon the “old saw” expression…….if it’s too cheap then something is way wrong.
I started my Stihl first pull after setting 5 months. You can’t beat that quality.
There is a blank in the product info listing for country of origin, but it is rarely filled in.
Often they fudge by saying
Manufactured in …
Manufactured for …
Assembled in the USA with imported parts
They always try to make it look like it’s made here … but they won’t say exactly.
My favorite is “designed in USA”. OK, good for your autoCAD. How many slaves in China did it take to build it?
Carney has to appear to be DOING SOMETHING at this moment in time.
Let us not forget they have a national election at the end of this month.
A real debate on the geo-political situation in the world, and the part they
(Canadians) wish to play, is beyond their political class.
Their “elites” better start thinking in an “elite” way before time runs out,
or they may find themselves self-exiling to the UK and EU as they are recycled and replaced by the Hegemon.
What will Grassley’s Uniparty promoting action against Trump’s tariffs?
Just read on Gateway Pundit.
The establishment fights back, they didn’t hear us in Nov.
Dee,
“The establishment fights back,” Is that like ‘The Empire Strikes Back’? It didn’t work out too well for the Empire.
The Good Guys will win this fight also. Let’s go Rebel MAGA!
It’s just posturing. The Senate passed a resolution. It’s unlikely the House would bring it up, and much less likely to survive a veto.
Shame on Rand Paul. You’d think by now the Libertarians would have figured out that the best way to achieve truly free trade is to stop being suckers and put up reciprocal tariffs. They also haven’t figured out a solution to Chinese slave labor.
That’s how you get to zero tariffs for most products…take away the market advantage of having them.
Nothing, it’s a resolution, never to see the light of day as legislation. Purely theatrics to give the Propaganda Parrot Media something to squawk about.
“No one likes a carny!”
…but my $25,000 annual ski trips to Whistler, Sundance!
Go ski in Colorado..same liberal idiots
Not al of us here in Colorado are liberal idiots.
Many of our ski resorts are in conservative rural areas, they support cnservative family values.
I understood her to mean the the people who ski there, yes most are liberal idiots, please do not jump to judgement so quickly.
Well, even better for Deployed Too Long! 😊
Utah. A friend returning from Whistler told me he realized there is never any reason to fly over Utah to ski anywhere else.
Utah has the best snow. 500+ inches at Alta this year. Plus conservative values.
Grand Targhee in Alta Wyoming has deeper snow..
bradk77: Great snow and conservative values, except for whoever stole my skis at Brighton Resort, in early February (and the snow was dumping that weekend).
Stealing skis or boards is begging for a karmic avalanche so the ravens pick your eye sockets out before the cougars give your corpse a once over come springtime..
Romney
Country
Will be cheaper!
Carney is not really our prime minister – he was hand chosen by Trudope and was “elected” by the Liberal party – not by Canadians. He even kept all the old cabinet ministers. He needs to be elected and is now trying to convince us that he is not Trudope 2.0. But he is really far far worse. A WEF favorite and an anti oil and gas man. His stand against fossil fuels is well documented and his scrapping of the hated carbon tax was just kibuki theatre – he just lowered the rate to zero until after the election. I takes an act of parliament to kill that tax – not a signed fake pm executive order. What a fraud. It’s just like your own ordeal with Sleepy Joe and Kama lama ding dong – this will take a bit of time. Many, many Canadians are still your good neighbors with many common interests and values. Pray for us.
Praying. Amen 🙏🏽
If you guys don’t “MAGA” that guy, I’ll be sad. I just don’t think Canadians have had their Mitt Romney phase yet. That point at which you realize both parties are in on the grift.
Some countries in Europe have…and those candidates are being thrown in prison. So you all have a ways to go yet.
We have not forgotten the Canadians of the freedom convoy or the ones who stood next to us in past battles. I wept when they destroyed the livlihoods and hope of the Canadians with their facist power moves. You have a beautiful country and many wonderful people.
I pray the canadians find their strength once again and fight for their heritage and homeland.
What happens when the degenerate cancer of the liberal big cities prevails…
Thank you. Yes, we were the first ones to stand up to the Covid scamdemic. We do party in -25 celcius. We have a history of being very fierce soldiers. But, those days are in our past. We have been taken to the cleaners by the Globalists aided and abetted by the progressives here. Our country was kidnapped and we have to fight to get it back. It is depressing but I must have hope.
My mothers’ family are Taylors originally from Wales. She ended up in Alberta Canada and was always a staunch Conservative.
Maybe we are related!!!
Canadian here. I love America and always have. I tell deluded Lefties that China is our threat not the US. TBH, this is all about hating on Trump.
Hoping for a Conservative tsunami. There is evidence for it. Polls are misleading on purpose.
Carney is an evil godless clown.
Funny but analytical, Will.
Thank you for this William W.
It is not a good idea to tar everyone in Canda with the same brush.
Reality is just not like that.
Leftists use polls to shape public opinion, not gauge it.
I pray for all the good Canadian citizens that you all realize what you will be getting with electing this socialist EU and WEF clone. Time to really stand up for your values, freedom and country. You can do it if you enough of you work together. Good luck and stay awake and aware and unafraid to act. American people do not hate or wish ill on the Canadian people.
If it hasn’t already been made clear, the people of Canada and the U.S. have more in common with each other than they’ll ever have with their leaders, as a rule, Trump being the notable exception. A great people, both.
J
We are praying for you. I have always liked Canadians and especially after you all gave us hope with the courage of the Canadian truckers protest.
What a disgusting little man! He’d rather have fentanyl kill Americans than do the decent thing.
He’s not concerned with illegal alien squatters killing Americans either.
We could always send it back. The fentanyl, I mean.
If they both want to go to 25%, why not just match each other at 0?
” Quite frankly, I’m not sure why President Trump would continue to play this game with Carney and should (for the sake of simplicity) just cancel all trade with Canada and begin an immediate embargo and border blockade.“
That just might be going a little bit overboard as it would amount to little short of an act of war, if not an act of war itself, and would likely lead to another impeachment, among other things. Therefore, I vote no, which is a vote for Trump.
You do realize that a sovereign nation has absolutely ZERO obligation to purchase products from another nation, right? Do you even hear yourself, man?
True but I recall quite a lot of consternation last year that Canada was getting way too cozy with China. You want the Chinese leasing military bases in BC?
Don’t think those Commie WEF’ers haven’t considered it.
Trudeau allowed the PLA (CCP) to do winter-snow training in Canada.
That’s what it was…thanks.
Thought China already had a military base with soldiers in Western CA somewhere…..on the basis they protect whatever projects they have built…or something.
You’re conflating a blockade with an embargo.
The former is an act of war as it is interference with all trade with a polity rather then the latter is very much more limited in scope to trade originating in one country.
“rather then”…. Wrong. ‘thAn’ has a totally different meaning than ‘thEn’. “rather than the latter, WHICH is very much more limited…” We Scots were “larned” in better schools.
I agree, that’s overboard. Let the process work itself out. Sooner or later he’s going to have to admit to CANADIANS that their tariffs on US products are causing the impasse. If their tariffs were zero, ours would be, too.
Doug Ford, Ontario PM, has already conceded that they might need to lower or eliminate tariffs for Trump to do the same.
Let the process work. It’s been a day.
They were only asked to stop the fentanyl and border jumpers.
Well, it’s both, I think. Tariffs due to fentanyl and illegals, but also reciprocal tariffs on some products as part of the broader tariff strategy. I think USMCA has some built in exceptions.
Act of war? Wait, what?
“Marx Carnage” could eff up a cup of coffee.
He looks and sounds like he puts way too much soy milk in his coffee, which is definitely an eff up. Black coffee matters!
The Marx Carnage reminds me of Obama!
Black Proper Cold Brew Matters!
Keir Carnage.
I’m 100% pro trade embargo ! Growing up in Key West I vividly remember the stank of the snow Mexicans ! Especially the French speaking ones. Obnoxious no tipping A holes ! I never bought into the our great neighbor bs.
There are decent Canadians I’d smoke brisket with any ol day of the week. However, the French speakers and their Eurotrash tendencies aren’t very easy to get along with, on purpose it seems. Serving most Europeans food and liquor is a financial challenge.
I have many family members in the southern Arizona desert.
Many Canadians spend winters down there and they are wonderful people.
They are mostly from BC, a few from Alberta.
There must be a difference between the Canadians on the East Coast and those in the West.
Arizona here. Many Canadians winter here. The people from Alberta and Saskatchewan are great!
Really? I came keep a brisket burning long enough to smoke it.
Carney makes Adam Schiff look like a genius.
The US employs 1000’s of Canadians, they cross the Windsor, Detroit, border daily.
Should we be allowing Canadians to work in Michigan, I don’t think so!
Professional politicians out themselves as fake when they think doing a Trump impression will win support.
I hated Trump at first. What won me over is that he’s right and he’s actually genuine.
I miss “good old TV” but when you look back at old TV shows, you realize no one actually talks or acts like that in real life. For example, no one accepts “he said something about his uncle” as an answer on its own… real people respond “what exactly did he say about his uncle??” TV people act like this is normal. And once you see it, you keep finding more examples of fake and bad acting.
JD Vance copied Pence rhetoric saying we are in “peacetime” when we are not. Every politician knows we are in wartime and that it gives the president and the military extra powers. And yes… the CIA is included in having those extra wartime powers.
The Korean war is in armistice — it hasn’t ended and that’s where ‘they’ need to keep it.
Every politician knows we are not in peacetime. Pence is a liar and Vance (with his fake names) is a mimick.
Perhaps we should.
For a ‘small ‘ tribute, of course.
This guy is Joe Bidumb 2.0… Our neighbors to the north will suffer the 4 years of Hell like us, then a Canadian PDJT will appear
Go to 75%. FAFO.
Countries are not people. Countries are governments. Government are not people. Governments use people.
Don’t wish harm on people because of their government. That’s what the FAFO clowns need to learn. We don’t need Canada’s people to suffer when all we (and they) need is for their government to prove they need to be replaced.
Trump understands this which is why he extends his hand to the People of Canada by offering them statehood. Their government needs to hurt but not the regular people.
The government (and the political parties) are not the country.
Is it possible that Canada’s electoral system is corrupt?
What a shock if that were true!
🤣
It is at least as corrupt as our own. Just the right amount of brain washing and gear mongering combined with real rigging among the hard left controlled regions (because the voters there know the left in power actually helps the people) and you get just the right illusion of democracy.
That’s why Trump was able to win. He is really good at persuasion. He is able to overcome the brain washing and fear morning on the right but unable to affect the systemic capture of the left. Canada isn’t all that different. Remember the trucker strike. The public supported the trucker rebellion.
I fully expected Carney to click his heels together at the end and heil EU, hand raised as straight as possible!
Ram trucks are the only brand that makes money for Stellantis. Ram literally props up the entire company.
Throw Jeep in there too, electric Wranglers notwithstanding. Many experts are predicting that by the end of the year, Chrysler will cease to exist.
Kinda surprising they didn’t “Bud light” themselves already in a way… would anyone have been surprised if they did?
I don’t know if I expected the Dow to drop as bad as it is
I’m old , it’s destroyed my savings, retirement
You sold all your stocks?
Sassy is a troll on this board. Ignore it.
It will come back, just hang in there. Don’t look at your portfolio.
Anyone who is invested in the stock market should have known what would happen. It has been talked about for weeks
Ever hear of diversify?
Now is the time to buy the “low” as all of the markets will rebound just like they did Trump’s first term…
Be patient, grasshopper…
Fire your broker. The Dow was at 37,000 this time last year. You’re still up 8% YoY.
If you’re old and riding the stock market and not diversified in stable income generating funds, you need to change that.
At some point all of us shift from higher risk stocks to lower risk bonds, cash, and metals. I’m 55 and that shift starts for me this year. Fewer growth stocks more stable funds that have lower returns but don’t swing with the Dow. Little by little we’ll shift over to more stable funds.
I’m closing in on 60 but in catch-up mode due to working in an industry with no 401k for awhile. I’ll be changing slowly at 60. Hopefully things will be better then.
We’ve been focused on paying off the house and kids in college, so my 401K contributions have been nonexistent in recent years. So I’ll be playing a little catch up, too. But, I guess if we get the house paid off that is a chunk of money we don’t need in retirement, so there’s that.
Been screwed in the stock market twice now. 2003 was the last blow and i fired my financial advisor. Turned most into real estate. and a bunch of elbow grease. Expecting a small pension from Teamsters which i just became vested in. Can’t wait to retire
Things should turn around by fall. I’m holding tight.
Geez, maybe you should change your financial advisor – I’m a geezer and I’m doing just fine in the market!
The DOW is up over 100% in the last five years. It has lost 7% in the last month.
That still means that any investment from five years ago has nearly doubled.
If your “savings” were “destroyed”, you didn’t have a portfolio that was balanced or indexed to the DOW. Which, most likely means that either of the two are the truth:
1 – You are a really bad investor. This is not PDJT or anyone else’s fault. It’s yours.
2 – OR…. You are a troll.
I am only a few years from retirement and far from rich. Am I happy to see my investments lose some value? Of course not. But, the stock market goes up and down all the time. I’ve seen many big adjustments downward throughout the years for various reasons.
So far, what has happened doesn’t even come close to something that I view as “destroying my savings, retirement”. Not even close.
I’ll take option #2 for a $1000 Alex!
We stopped swinging for the fences years ago. Somewhere around 55-ish we rebalanced to seek walks and bunt singles. Boring and safe returns – even in a “down” market. A trusted and prudent financial advisor (who listens) will park your funds into conservative, steady-eddy equities with a mixture of dividend bearing stocks, eft’s, bonds and money market cash.
The Dow dropping 4% destroyed all your savings and retirement?
What happened to the other 96%?

FULL CEREMONY: Mark Carney sworn in as Canada’s new prime minister – YouTube
Mark Carney is the Canadian version of Harry Reid.
This Carney guy is worse than Zelensky. Last month, he threatened to shut down all Canadian electricity that is purchesed by a few northern US states. I believe the same day or the next day, he called PDJT and they worked something out where Carney backed completely off of that electricity threat.
Then, a few days ago, Carney said he planned to inflict as much pain on American citizens as possible. Last night, he told CNBC that he’d gladly reduce all tariffs to zero if PDJT did the same. Isn’t that what PDJT has been asking them to do? It’s like he wants to be seen as the one extending the olive branch or something, even though he’s been a total jackass.
You’re conflating him with Henry Ford.
👏 👏 👍 😀
Doug Ford, Ontario PM.
Anyway, he was better on the Honeymooners.
🙂
While the discussion of tariffs is newer, liken this to a cargo ship in high seas, the load shifts to the port ( left side of the ship ), endangering stability. Well, this happened about 1900 for this current history. Ever since, this cargo ship has been in danger of
sinking, but the Captain and Radioman are drunk, in the Capt. cabin. The crew, in the last few periods, decided to get drunk as well, and the ship nears floundering — The Coast Guard arrives on scene, makes coffee, wakes up the crew and begins to shift the cargo back to the Keel-line or mid-ships. Some of the crew remain bellegerantly drunk, while some who would rather not drown, slowly, with injuries, gain the upper hand. As to the Captain, denial abounds in the log book, the radioman pleads the 5th.
The cargo, makes it safely to the customer, and the idea, of making the cargo, as we did in History becomes fashionable, all citizens gain some freedom from tax enslavement, the Capt. and Radioman are well, that will be the “and the rest of the story.
We are the arbiter of this house, one can even stay at home, on the couch, and make sure your Rep. understands that one company is making rope- and it will need testing now and then.
Fight people, call them, schools, Rep. & Senators stop buying Marx-ist Company products. Learn the difference between liberal & illiberal, Conservative and Constitutional Conservative in Marx-ism speak. None of tithe are hard to accomplish,

Correct as far as Agriculture and Manufactured goods are concerned.
But. Canada exported 67.5 Terawatt hours (67.5 Billion kWh) of electricity to NY, ND, MA, etc., in 2023. There is zero chance of replacing that generation power by any means within the continental US. The excess generation doesn’t exist and neither do the transmission lines or substations.
Doesn’t affect me, as I don’t live in those areas. However, it could cause a great disruption if Canada shut off that power export.
Just sayin. That’s enough power to serve 4.5 Million homes for a year.
Assuming your figures are accurate, what would be the loss of income to Canada? And what would happen with all the excess generation? Do you think the government would use it to help average Canadians with their utility bills? I don’t. It’s not in their nature.
About 10 Billion USD per year.
No, CA would not lower their citizens electric bills.
Since the CA generation is Hydro, they’d let the waters flow downstream without generation.
If China can build one coal power plant a week imagine what America know how can do?
China builds coal plants via Govt edict. There are zero environmental impact studies, zero CO2 studies, zero sustainability studies. They build what the Govt wants.
America is captive to an Administrative State and a Judicial State. America is helpless.
It can take 10 years to get a Permit for a coal or nuclear generator. 20 years for a hydro plant, if a site is available.
America can only do what the Administrative State allows her to do. Even then, a Judge in any district, can stop it.
The exports come mainly from Quebec and to a lesser degree Manitoba, both of which have long-term contracts that they intend to honor. The “cut them off” noise comes from blowhard Ontario Premier Doug Ford, whose provincial power utility has a power-sharing grid setup with American electric utilities in NY state and the Midwest. He doesn’t have anything substantial to cut off.
Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney Flip-Flops After Anti-U.S. Rhetoric — Now Calls America “Our Most Important Security Ally”
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/04/canadas-prime-minister-mark-carney-flip-flops-after/
Overspending like we have done for decades has now finally caught up with us to the tune of 37 trillions dollars in debt causing massive inflation. This is similar to drinking alcohol. Early on it feels great so we keep drinking to keep feeling good. Once the alcohol wears off the hang over ensues. We are at the hangover stage.
I’ve been monitoring Canadian media all day and nobody, anywhere talks about debt. Canadians need to realize that if our ship sinks, they go along for the ride with us to the bottom.
That “over spending” was politicians lining their pockets, their friends, family, ngo’s, fraud and waste that DOGE has uncovered. This RICO crime spree has been going on for decades. The SOB’S come to DC to steal as much of our hard earned tax dollars as possible.
Lock these thieving bastards up and implement ways to track every penny spent and we could balance the budget and eliminate the income tax.
Until Pam Blondie and playboy Patel get off their incompetent ass and start arresting and prosecuting these thieves nothing is going to change.
I’m seeing nothing different now than I saw in Biteme’s DOJ.
Trump has literally as well as figuratively broken their brains.
“Quite frankly, I’m not sure why President Trump would continue to play this game with Carney and should (for the sake of simplicity) just cancel all trade with Canada and begin an immediate embargo and border blockade.”
That was my initial thought along with Mexico on day one. See how well Canada and Mexico do fending on their own. The USA should annex the Baja Peninsula as well British Columbia to cover the debt that they have received in USAID and other bailout subsidies.
Many seem to missing the actual threat PDT is dealing with when playing with the Snow Mexicans. Its not just financial. Canada is run by globalist eunuchs and their military such as it is might as well guard Canada’s border with Alaska. CHINA’s influence in Canada and the threat CHINA and the Mexican drug cartels represent to the US’s northern border and other direct threats by China are what PDT is dealing with.
Only thing i can think of coming out of canada that i use is lumber and that comes from an American owned mill, so wont be a big deal, and id it goes up, it goes up, the canadians are a buncha cheapscates anyway so F em
Oligarch mouthpiece Mark Carney depends on the ignorance of the electorate to sell his patented poison. There’s an antidote for that: factual, informative HISTORY. Here’s 3 hours worth of historical fact that blows a lot of “accepted truth” out of the water. I’m watching it all…a little at a time. Above all else, it highlights the enforced criminal ignorance of modern public school education.
https://matthewehret.substack.com/p/trumps-tariffs-and-treason-an-essential
Infective and effeminate , he brings a small firecracker, a tired ladyfinger to a gun fight .
He’s playing the fool. We don’t really need Canada, let it go back to what it was without us.
We have people that are hungry for the jobs manufacturing will be bringing back to America. Many companies have already signed on for the transition.
“Canada Matters” because of the North American Trade Zone championed by one-wordlers including Dr. Evil and Fat Dracula’s wife Heidi Cruz Managing Director of Goldman Sachs.
We must pretend that that vast frozen wilderness north of us is of material consequence to the USA (truthfully and actually the NWO)
We should have made Canada part of the USA decades ago.
While I’m angering the Statists I may as well continue- No FBI and No FED. They are unarguably a net negative to the good and honorable people in the USA.
If eggs and other groceries will return to normal prices, that will be a “raise”! If a person is on a fixed income – i.e., Social Security – wouldn’t cheaper groceries constitute an improvement? If you are on a tight budget endeavoring to work your way through college without any student loans, won’t cheaper eggs be a big help?
What I would love to see is a return to the USA a resurgence of the textile industry – clothing, bedding, upholstery, draperies – and the mighty and beautiful furniture industry, not an Allen wrench in sight!
I have been to the IKEA stores and they were fun to visit (back in the early 1990’s) and have lunch there (some kind of “typical” Swedish menu) – that was reminiscent of the way the really great department stores were, where they had a nice lunch room or tea room and every place had a specialty, like crepes. You might spend most of a good part of a day, picking out your first good China and silver – or ordering furniture for various rooms – it was exhausting – you could go have lunch.
But the thing about the IKEA stores, besides feeling somewhat claustrophobic, was that it all boiled down to a brilliant idea to be able to “flat pack” every darn thing to be shipped to our consumers in the USA – and where exactly was all this “flat packing” done?
No biscuits, joinery beauty that was so awesome, mortise and tenon, seamless, beautifully crafted on the inside and outside like “traditional” American and English furniture.
IKEA is not like the beautiful teak Danish pieces your Mom and Grandma found at Dansk back in the 1950’s along with the beautiful serving trays, cheese boards and salad bowls. Sure, cutesy Swedish names for various pieces to give you that Scandinavian vibe as you wrestle with assembling all of it with an Allen wrench. Did you really save any money? Probably IKEA spent more money on marketing and devising those cutesy names for the catalog than they even spent on finishing.
In the old days, you might be so lucky to have a beautiful little hutch or gate-leg table from your grandmother to help start off your own first home. How could you assemble with an Allen wrench a gate-leg table flat-packed in China and it would be just sticks of wood that never saw a lathe.
The real bummer too is probably the Allen wrenches were not even made in America from American steel! Bring back Allen wrenches too, if they have been made elsewhere . . . we may still need them for recycling them for manhole covers . . . maybe not manhole covers, those need to be well-made too (note to self, find out how much of what we need for infrastructure is still made in the USA).
I have been reading the play by Friedrich Schiller about “William Tell” on which Rossini based his opera (where we hear the famous overture). The play version I am reading is something I found to read on my Kindle, an English translation. My Mom instilled in me a love for reading plays, from her “Theater Guild” book and others. This translation is not exactly a Theater Guild version but I am getting a lot from it. The part about the history about how the people came to the alps from the north. How a beloved friend was blinded in punishment by the Austrians. At the time of the story, the people in these three cantons (Uri, Switz and Unterwalden) were coping with the Austrians who had gained control of their beloved land. There were some men working on a castle for some Austrian bigwig and it involved the construction of a fearful dungeon and a means for lowering prisoners down into that dungeon. They saw that they were actually building the place that would become THEIR prison ultimately.
Hopefully we as a nation have been able to right our course in time, to save our way of life and make America great again, not being under the thumb of any other nation or group . . . thanking dear God for Donald Trump being willing to take on the job he is doing!

When they tell you Trump is a threat to “their Democracy,” they’re not lying.
When they tell you Trump is a threat to “their Economy,” they’re not lying.
The thing is, their economy has never been OUR economy.

Slime-Minister Carney, he’s small potatoes.
A BANKER, a globalist one, wants to be the next leader of that country. You can not make this stuff up folks. Even if you tried.
There is speculation that Carney holds leverage over PDJT as outlined here:
Carney’s ex-company Brookfield has deep financial ties with the Trump family:
https://www.junonews.com/p/carneys-ex-company-brookfield-has
…AND here: Does Mark Carney have SECRET LEVERAGE on Trump?
Would love to see Sundance’s reaction.
There is NOTHING in PDJT’s past that anyone, particularly a pipsqueak like Carney, has on him. PDJT is the most investigated man to ever live. Every possible piece of manipulated “evidence” against him has been exposed. Don’t fall for any “secret” on President Trump.
Stellantis and Mopar have opened warehouses / plants in the Hudson Valley this past year.
Ford announced employee discounts on vehicles today BUT did not include the F-250 trucks. They left out the most important truck for farmers, ranchers, tradesman, business owners, etc. The vehicle many people would like but are priced out of. Something needs to give.
Us, too!
For those who’ve never seen it…unless you’re like me and have watched and shared it many times and can watch over and over again because it’s just so freakin’ fabulous….and EVERGREEN
If no tariffs are good, then why are there no no tariffs countries?
While we’re on the subject of cheesy imports, If you look hard enough you will find American made products almost 100% of the time. True, they cost 2 to 4 times as much but it might keep an American job for one more hour.
I started buying American made years ago to get ready for this day. The expense is almost unbearable but the quality is almost unbeatable.
God Bless America
God Bless PDJT.
When the quality is right an item pays for itself over and over until the cost-per-use approaches zero.
I have an Eddie Bauer denim jacket I bought 40 years ago. Worn at the seams but still solid. I wear it for yard work and walks.
Carney is an ass clown for sure! I heard he was “friends” with Ep$&&n?
Sacre bleu!
