Interim installed Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has confirmed the snap election for Canada is scheduled for April 28, 2025.
Given that Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre generally sealed his fate with criticism of President Trump while aligning himself with a surging patriotic-leftist movement, it is now expected that Mark Carney will win the election.
Politico has an article about the dynamic underway, and the following quotes are noteworthy:
CANADA – […] Trump has even taken credit for turning the Liberals’ fortunes around.
“Before I got involved and totally changed the election — which I don’t care about, probably, it’s our advantage, actually — but the Conservative was leading against, I call him Governor Trudeau. The conservative was leading by 35 points,” he said Friday, while exaggerating the polls.
“I think Canada is a place, like a lot of other places, if you have a good candidate, the candidate is going to work,” Trump said.
[…] Canadians have responded to Trump’s intimidation tactics with an outburst of patriotism. They are canceling spring break plans, buying made-in-Canada products, damaging Teslas and booing “The Star Spangled Banner” at professional sporting events.
Carney’s campaign slogan is “Canada Strong” while Poilievre’s is “Canada First.”
[…] In a recent interview with Fox News, the president was asked about how his recent treatment toward Canada appears to be helping the Liberal party.
“I don’t care,” he said. “I think it’s easier to deal, actually, with a liberal and maybe they’re going to win, but I don’t really care.”
Trump went on to say Poilievre “is stupidly no friend of mine” because of the “negative things” he has said about the president.
Poilievre has tried to frame the comments as proof that Trump is endorsing Carney, while the Conservative leader attempts to revamp his strategy to meet the moment. (read more)
From the perspective of President Trump, the main asset in the arsenal of the Canadian tariffs is “energy.” As a consequence, having a strong “climate change” prime minister up there will mitigate any use of the energy sector and help the strategic North American economic strategy of President Trump.
{GO DEEP}
Boycotts by Canadians are generally welcomed in the U.S. hospitality industry, not coincidentally an industry of great familiarity to President Trump. Canada simply doesn’t have any tariff weapons in their arsenal for countervailing duties.
The latest strategy by the Canadian government is to rent billboards in various red states, trying to convince Americans they need Canada more than they need Donald Trump’s reciprocity tariffs. It is a dubious proposition at best, and a little funny all things considered. But hey, the feels. [Prompted]

It is important to remember that Carney is just going to continue what Trudeau was doing. And Trudeau was deeply unpopular. To that mix, add in their looming problems due to the tariffs.
Better that Carney takes the blame for it. Better that Canadians see just how much of their economy depends on us.
It’s like watching a trust fund baby trash his parents not understanding that daddy can cut off the money whenever he wants.
EXACTLY!!!
No fair!
We don’t get guys in turbans running in OUR Presidential elections
I feel short-changed
It will happen here soon enough
No, no it wont
No, but a guy name Hussein was President less than 10 years after 9/11.
undeniable, john … thx for voicing
Ms. Joly fundamentally misunderstands that Trump represents the voters of the United States. We aren’t going to call our corrupted ‘representatives’.
We are done financially propping up Canada, the EU and the rest of the West.
Canadiens have been living of the hard work of Americans for decades.
Trump is doing our will.
So. You don’t need anything from Canada. So be it.
Remember, buying resources from Canada with the conjured up Federal Reserve Notes requires faith on both sides of the transactions.
And it was American Politicians who sold you out. Not Canada.
How did Drug Lord Mexico become such a powerful manufacturing nation. How did Communist/Maoist China become your biggest “trading” partner?
The U.S. Chamber of Foreign Commerce and Washington DC.
We need Canada to be a friend! We all know we were sold out by our Politicians – but we also know we can’t prop up Canada’s or the EU’s economy, if we sink too. Better hope for better days for us as well as yourselves…
The resentment isn’t toward Canada.
It’s resentment toward globalists inside the United States and outside (including Trudeau and Carney).
The resentment is due to the Rust Belt that extends through at least four states, an area that was once thriving, our industrial base.
To limit the power of the unions, and to exploit cheaper labor, auto manufacturing left for Canada.
They are in Canada to EXPLOIT you, to use you for your labor.
That’s why the Canadian government is devaluing its currency, in service of the big corporations, to keep Canadian labor poor.
It’s not Canada per se. It’s the globalist billionaires who are exploiting all of us.
Trump routinely says that our government is stupid and signed stupid agreements. And that other countries, like China, or Canada, were smart to pillage our country and exfiltrate wealth to finance their government, military, and social welfare programs.
I mean, what country WOULDN’T like to tax Americans?
The whole trade war thing is media spin because Trump is simply stating fact: the current government of the United States is no longer a doormat for other countries to take advantage of.
Sadly, feminized Canadians get all pissy when their BF tells them their access to his credit card is cut off.
Canadian showbirds are still flooding Arizona right now. Their ‘boycott America’ isn’t working…
They can’t afford to live in their own home during the winter, heating their homes is NOT in their budget.
Nonsense. It is Canadian Retirees that go to Florida and Arizona to spend their Pension checks. Tell them to go home. You don’t need them.
Nope not nonsense, I live in Mexico and have come into contact with all kinds of Canadians (snowbirds) over the last decade and almost all have told me the same thing.
They come down for 5 months and 20 some days and go back so they don’t lose their benefits, they can NOT afford to live in their own country for the year.
However, now that Canada is devaluing its dollar, they won’t be able to afford a trip to the United States, so you’ll probably see more visiting Mexico.
The proper response from Canada is to lower its tariffs to zero and form an economic union of some kind with the United States, whether as an “independent” nation, territory, or state.
But the Canadians are so full of propaganda, maybe even more so than Americans . . . that they think in cartoons (most of them).
It’s weird that the Canadians were all post-nation, beyond crude ideas such as patriotism . . . and now they’re waving flags.
It shows how powerful the television is.
I believe you got it backwards, they are going back, it will soon be summer in Ca.
Wondering how they will do if the visa-free entry regime is suspended ?
Rich folks kids are usually insufferable. I worked on enough of their homes to see a few lifetimes worth of terrible behavior and some very interesting family dynamics to say the least.
Indeed and Carney was Castro Jr’s advisor for many years, they are friends as well. This is just a peek into the job Carney would do for us, if God forbid he was elected in April. Pierre P has been in politics his whole adult life. which tells us what he is about. Truly many of us do not care, are not excited about the new PM. we just want Castro OUT, but a PDJT we do not have, how sad, so close our nose and vote. Please our American neighbors pray for us, we need all the help we can get. The Canadian citizens, the majority of us are good, hard working people that love our country the way it was once upon a time, we were proud to be Canadian. Prayers are welcome and needed. Thank you our neighbors to the south, we respect and love you..
Polly Ver is sadly weak and not the incisive fighter Canada needs.
Playing Me Too with the Sad Saps of the Left betrayed you and all sane and just Canadians.
We love our Canadian Treepers, the ones that aren’t Derp State operatives that is.

Hopefully, the fever breaks, soon.
Face the Truth. You need land and resources to Finance the unpayable Debts of your own. $100 Trillion plus.
And, surprise, surprise, looks like the Federal Reserve is lining up to buy (monetize) more Government Debt.
When the Saudis (some claim Israel planned it) knocked down the Twin Towers, and Dubya rushe the Sauds out of the US, it was Canada that welcomed our neighbors to a safe landing.
How soon we forget.
Zzzzz…
What, you mean free healthcare paid by US taxpayers wasn’t enough?
Just how free is free healthcare in a country that is required to pay for its own defense?
Carney is worse than Trudeau.
Very much worse John
The Snap Election makes a lot of sense as Canadians rally around someone they believe will unify them and lead them against the US trade war before any data can spoil this belief.
And when the data arrives the silence will be deafening.
Exactly right. Carney the Communist Clown has to have a very quick, very rigged election (thank you CIA) before Canadians realize what a disaster this guy is.
After Trudeau they should already know how bad liberals are!!! Geez, they froze people’s money for protesting!
Why would anyone vote for that again? Canadians really are stupid!
Not all of us, with all due respect are stupid. We had our eyes wide open during that time, thanks to our brave loving Truckers. I did not see truckers from America do anything close to what ours did, and we are a much smaller country. Much love and respect to our guys and gals who undertook this journey, while Castro our so called PM ran and hid, then invoked the emergency act, like his daddy Pierre did years back when he was the PM of Canada. The apple does not fall far from the tree. Shame on Justine, can’t wait for him to leave once and for all never to be seen or heard from him again. Hasta La Vista dummkopf.
Canadians as a whole are not stupid. I have many Canadian friends and co-workers who, with few exceptions, I love dearly. But there are a lot of ignorant Canadians located in Montreal and Toronto that have no idea how the world really works and are addicted to the good deal that the USA has been giving them for a long time. I can easily see Albert saying, “Forget this!” and petitioning to move from Canada to the USA. And as soon as that happens, Montreal falls because of a lack of transfer payments, and then the whole thing unravels. Yes, the USA and Canada have been “friends” for a long time. But when you notice that your “friend” is laughing at you, not with you, and expecting you to pick up the tab for dinner every night, at some point you wise up and make new friends.
But when that friend is owned by your enemy and you can’t send them away or get away, you need to disrupt their relationship with that enemy; at that point they may well be worthy of embrace.

Your description seems to be exactly what President Trump is doing.
Genius, and so are people like you who see it.
And, he does it all on the sly, or with so many other plates spinning on sticks, that no one truly sees what’s happening until it’s done.
By this I take it that President Trump isn’t going after Greenland or Canada, he is “using” them, albeit verbally, to go after Chyna.
As well as the Crown who is using China.
WEF is a suicide pact for the West on behalf of China.
Run by The City.
In the end, we may fully embrace both those Arctic lands to effect a Sphere of Influence that finally removes the Crown and their ambitious vassals from it entirely.
The effects for all parties, especially those with the potential to become territories, would far eclipse the stunted imaginations that are running their oppositional tantrums at the moment.
A Golden Age, for all, even the reluctant and blind.
Personally I love the Canadians I have known, even those from Quebec 😉, and you are much loved here Donna.
While agreeing that many Canadians aren’t that bright. May I remind you that Joe Biden was installed and you sat back and took sheet for 4 years.
Yawn!
No, you may NOT remind us, we will NOT forget and there will be a reckoning one day.🇺🇲
That’s ridiculous. Have you been reading here for the last 4yrs?
I’m not comfortable saying that “all Canadians are stupid.” It seems to me that a great number of Canadians are looking at their government with eyes wide open and anger in their hearts.
Never underestimate the ability of evil, corrupt politicians and their minions to illegally inflate vote totals in the big cities to a point where the fake votes outnumber the real votes.
I’m certain that this kind of fraud is just as common in Canada as it is here in the USA. The CIA/USAID probably operates in both countries.
Operatives are encouraging animosity to blind both sides to the true stakes, the true aims, and the power of Unity.
That is a consistent pattern of the Derp State writ Global, and can be applied to every conflict they covet.
So kind of them to drop into CTH and cue us into their scheming, n’est-ce pas?
that really does not speak highly of Canadian citizens, that they cannot see this.
Most Americans (including me) were blind to the corruption of our own UniParty Deep State. For many of us, our blindness lasted many decades.
President Trump has “cured” the blindness for many Americans. So has Sundance and the Treeper community.
Insulting Canadians is counterproductive. I voted for Bush 1, Dole, Bush2, mcCain and Romney. I didn’t catch on that they were just the right side on the Uniparty until they went bat quano crazy when Trump came along. I thought/hoped PP was their Trump, but he was just the right side of THEIR Globalist Uniparty. Too bad. They are good people who don’t deserve the gov they have. They need a Canadian Trump.
Yes, yes they do.
I agree in general insults can be counterproductive, though operatives and lunatics always merit mockery.
As always, it is imperative to understand the genuine nature of the conflict, the foundations thereof, and then the motives become clear and the enemies of both sides who would otherwise be friends comes into focus.
Well – isn’t it true that Dominion still has dominion over their fraudulent see-eye-aye-interfered elections?
If still true, I suspect at least a few more Canadian subjects (as sundance terms them) can actually see past the pretending.
They had the trucker revolt after all – the equivalent of our Taxed Enough Already party.
Their problem is figuring out a strategy to break through…
They need to find their own DJT. I pray they do!
Did you see all the CRIME in the US Agency for International Development? Canada’s Liberal Party funds, by stealing taxes, Every Single Media, TV, Radio, and Newspaper.
That smothers any voice of dissent. Exactly the same way your Government Unions and the Democrats stole funds from USAID. That is how reason is silenced.
They are under tyranny. The government seizes assetts if you speak out. It’s what they want for you. It’s all about taking away your freewill. Always has been.
They do not have Sundance explaining it to them. I have no claim to have been any smarter than them without TCTH.
Wouldn’t it be great to see an upset by The Peoples Party (Maxime Bernier)? He is in alignment with Trump.
I had not heard of him – thanks for the info!
Good Ideas. But, barely speaks English. Not electable.
Here is Maxime with viva frei – https://rumble.com/v6r15w2-canadian-election-upcoming-interview-with-peoples-party-of-canada-leader-ma.html
Treepers can judge for themselves if they are inclined.
The truth is that even with a Bernier or Poilievre landslide (magical thinking!) we have no mechanism
to have any permanent positive change is Canada. We might see some temporary improvement on taxation, resource exploration, immigration etc. but the basic flawed set up of the country has no way of being changed.
Basically we are not free citizens living in a country with a written constitution from which self governance flows. Instead we are subjects of the monarch with a mickey mouse constitution inflicted on us by Pierre Trudeau in 1982.
The irony is that the founders of both countries were drawn from the same pool? Yet the prevailing motto of governance in Canada was, Peace, Order and Good Governance (POGG) while Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave epitomises the USA.

I sadly listened to Carney answer a few questions from reporters when he was in Alberta recently. How embarrassing the word salad he was spewing, nothing to do with the questions asked. i don’t know who is worse Carney or Kamala, how pathetic.
Carnala
Marx Carnage.
Here he comes to screw your day!
Furthermore, I consider that the Derp State, writ Global, MUST be destroyed!!
“The latest strategy by the Canadian government is to rent billboards in various red states, trying to convince Americans they need Canada more than they need Donald Trump’s reciprocity tariffs.”
Canadiens, they are nice in Canada.
Canadiens in the US are a bit full of themselves, pay cash for our medical system and are critical of everything our country has to offer. Go home and get ready for an economic implosion of your system.
I can always get my syrup from Vermont.
Dude …. Much the maple syrup in Canadian stores comes from Vernont. The govt killed the maple syrup industry in Canada
What happened to the Canadian Strategic Maple Syrup Reserve?
Lololol.😆
Many of us are ready, and are under no illusions.
The Canada we knew when we emigrated here many decades ago no longer exists.
So be it!
The Covid scam, your 2020 election fraud, and everything in between has only solidified our disgust and for disdain our place of residence.
As coincidence would have it a well heeled friend of mine just returned from a trip to Las Vegas, and stated that will be the last time for who knows how long.
His decision was not out of any animosity to the U.S.A. it is just simply that basic costs were simply too high, particularly as a consequence of our anemic ( and getting sicker by the week.)
Politicians come and go..
As we know is health is wealth.
Cheers to all!
We support Canadians and hope everything works out well for both of our countries!!
Come on down mate while there’s room!

We are fortunate in that we live 5 mins from the border, and have benefited from not wearing “ rose coloured glasses”
Regular jaunts south of “the 49” are a pleasure.

I don’t know much about Pierre Poilievre but from what I read he’s not really much of a “Conservative”.
I gave him credit for being smarter, more politic than that.
Didn’t taste his words before he spit them out.
And so it goes….
I think he’s one of those radical right-wingers that we use to hear about. Like Mitt Romney or something, lol.
Marx/Max Carnage is a European Butler.

Supporting COVID restrictions (against their own voters). Applauding Trudeau’s pet Ukrainian Nazi. Taking their values and opinions from Leftist media (e.g., believing in global warming). Government “help” for government-caused problems.
The Conservative party is conservative the same way John McCain was conservative.
Poilievre is a little better than his party, and I still don’t think Carney (or Carney + Singh (+ Trump)) will win, but it may come down to vote-buying and vote-rigging in the end.
A true Conservative cannot be elected in Canada.
The Bloc Québécois is a federal party that is centred only in Quebec, they are a communist party.
They only care about Quebec, and wish to secede from Canada, ( or simply milk the faux fear ) all Canadian politicians
must defer to Quebec interests.
Decades ago they had vote to secede it lost 51/49 ( it was blatantly fixed) as the globalists could never let Quebec go.
Maybe one day Alberta and Saskatchewan will say Cluck it and leave.
Cheers!
Dekester, as a Canadian do you not think Poilievre distancing himself from President Trump was (i) necessary for him to have a chance to win the now-scheduled election, and (ii) kabuki theater, i.e., he doesn’t believe any of it and is just playing the game?
Oui!
Polly Ver is weak and rightly suspect as a possible pretend conservative ploy equivalent to our Greedy Old Possums.
If he truly thought joining the Me Too hate Trump movement was necessary to overcome the insanity of the Left, he isn’t very bright and doesn’t understand the genuine conservatives’ thirst for a genuine fighter that espouses truth.
Pierre Pollievre has proven to be the most effective Conservative Party leader since Harper. Very strong in debates, handles the massive media bias stacked against him well, and generally has good political instincts. The snap election was always the plan since the cabal that runs my country knows all too well what would happen if the Epstein-adjacent Carney had to perform in the House of Commons and handle media for 6 months. Anyone remember Michael Ignatieff? He also returned from Britain to take up the throne, only to be exposed as badly out-of-touch with Canadians. Not being a politician, Harper baited and trapped Ignatieff. Mark Carney is Ignatieff 2.0.
Had Carney served as PM for 6 months, I’m almost certain he’d lose badly. His woke and green policies are worse than Little Potato’s. In terms of political skills, he’s already shown to be a poser and given enough opportunity Pollievre will eat him for lunch.
The real question in my mind: can Pollievre expose this guy in just 5 weeks? Carney is riding high in grossly exaggerated polls and the media is framing the election as a patriotic exercise to fight Trump. I think Pollievre IS walking that fine line so as to avoid the label the Liberals wish to bestow upon him. All considered, Pollievre has sized up the political reality well and is keeping his powder dry. He has signalled enough to his base to keep them onboard and will likely forgive him the “kabuki” defenses.
This sense of Carney inevitability is greatly exaggerated. The Conservatives have a target-rich candidate to go after, lots of dirt to expose and an historically bad economy to remind voters about.
Possibly, but out here among the British Columbians we chat with…Carney sways the independents.
IMO it’s every man for themselves…there is a definite shift in funds North to South among wealthy Asians and Indians..the well traveled ones have seen “this dance before”
Cheers!
Real Estate values that have pumped the British Columbian economy is imploding, particularly in the massive condominium market.
Prices are still off maybe 5% – 10% but listings are getting stale.
We shall see..
Cheers!
Can he expose Marx Carnage when he has mimed their knee-jerk response to PDJT?
Does he want to expose them, really?
Possibly,
That said as a student of Canadian politics I see nothing but a slide into an abyss for us.
Out here in British Columbia our vote means NOTHING the election is determined in Ontario..period.
British Columbia is California light…it has mild weather and lovely scenery, but successive communist provincial governments has destroyed much of the peoples enthusiasm.
Many are just unaware of it…they blame President Trump 😂
God has his plans…we here should try and stay healthy and out of debt and smile often.
Cheers!
Oh, Canada.
More like oY Canada…
Woe, Canada.
Doh, Canada!
Uh-Oh, Canada
Ewww! Canada
It is unfortunate, for us normal Canadians, that President Trumps remarks, might cause the libs to win, and him saying he doesnt really care who wins, is not helpful, at all.
I truly stand with him and all Conservatives, worldwide.
But I dont know what to say about all this.
If the libs win, we will be under the boot of the Marxist left again. I do not understand how he would throw us all under the bus like this. We need a Conservative, even if it is PP. Anything less, will be disastrous.
I dont get it. Truly I dont. It worry’s all of us who have supported President Trump, that we could be thrown to the globalist criminals,, when all he has to do is say a few words to calm the fence sitters.
As Ive said, Canadians are fiercely patriotic. The right side is, for sure.
Make this make sense.
Quit blaming Trump for your problems. Maybe President Trump is letting other countries correct their own countries without influence from the United States’ President.
It is maybe time for Canadians to start with “who is the lesser of two evils” approach, which we in America, in some respects, still have to do. If you cannot do that, please, practice, “I’m a Canadian-American.”
I think you are mistaken to infer Bob is blaming Trump. Canada has been in a world of hurt for several years and if you were a Canadian perhaps you would have a better understanding of how badly the government has made things and now to find out the government has to deal with tariffs is a huge problem facing ordinary Canadians who are clueless as to the chicanery their own government has been up to.
Bob, essentially you are going to be in a position the US was in just prior to the Obama First Coming in 2008.
This begat the TEA Party which was crushed by the Uniparty.
Essentially, eight years later Trump emerged and the beginning of the Republican Party takeover commenced. This effort is still far from achieved.
I dunno how much shorter your time line might be, but having Trump South of you is a huge plus in your favor.
Over the weekend I saw on the news there was protestors in Detroit along the Detroit River and in Windsor the Snow Mexicans were along the river protesting too (anti Trump). That’s all they got.
So they are going to put up public advertisements in our country in an effort to influence our politics. Will the allow us to do the same?
The Canadian Air Force has 60 jet fighters. I don’t know that they even have any bombers or how many of the fighter jets actually can fly. We provide all of their military security and protection so they can afford to be WOKE!
The Canadians should be grateful for that instead of having an attitude!
Well Canada can always rely on the UK for backup.
You know, the UK which has more admirals than ships and more horses than functioning tanks.
So Canada really doesn’t need the US military.
And the UK rents its ballistic missile nukes from the US … (
They have dog sled fighters and dog sled tanks.
Now those I might have some respect for!
California Joe: Canada flies F-18s. No dedicated bombers, accoring to my quick review of Canadian military aircraft.
It seems the response from our friends up North is not Canada first but rather Canadian Leftism first!
.
That sound perfect to me.
.
Perfect timing for Trump in the future to point out that Canada’s “fuel-energy / industrialization” needle will move from 1/16th of a tank remaining to bone dry.
.
In the mean time I will pray for friends and loved ones in Canada to be spared the difficult economic carnage.
.
Scripture says, “I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his descendants begging bread.” Psalm 37:25
.
I have confidence that this scripture will work itself in the positive for true Canadians who are patriots of the Most High Lord.
.
I have always wondered why there are so few real Christians in Canada. Anybody know why?
How would you know that? Have a link?
Me too! Why?
On a percentage basis, Are there more or less ‘real Christians’ here in the US? We certainly seem to be treated as a small fringe group at times. And by what criteria would one use to count the number of “real Christians” in either Canada or the US?
Read Elizabeth Nickson on Substack. She has written about this a bit and you’ll have to dig to find it on her Substack.
A few months ago I read my first article by Elizabeth. My goodness! She is wonderful and really explains the how and why of things going on in Canada which is so very interesting to me since we try to visit Canada every summer.
She has her own folder now so I can check back and refer if I have to. Really, she is one smart cookie!
Is that Dindu’s cousin, Hindu Nuffin?
Spit out my drink on that one!
Sikh and you shall bind.
Trump’s position is that his duty is to implement policies which are best for Americans. If Canadians chooses to do what is worst for Canadians as a result, that is a Canadian problem and not an American one.
Also note that Politico folds “Telsa vandalism” – which has included firebombing vehicles- into Canada’s “outburst of patriotism.”
Would Politico have described Kristallnacht as “an outburst of German Patriotism” in 1938?
Yes, they probably would have. See the NYT of the day.
Trump’s position is that his duty is to implement policies which are best for Americans.
Trump’s position is that Canada’s duty is to implement policies which are best for Americans.
’bout sums it up.
I like it!
Yup, there is no one Trump can support, PP missed a golden opportunity.
I feel for the canucks that have their heads screwed on correctly. But there is
nothing our Pres can do for you because your conservative bench is so shallow.
All that said, it is easy to sound smug towards our neighbors to the north.
But here again, our GOD has looked upon us with favor, because I hope and pray,
the faithful have sought the LORDS mercy.
We in the US dodged a bullet by the grace of GOD, I pray our friends to the north
find the same path we did within their borders.
Wonderfully said, Doug. Wonderfully said.
We Love Tariffs. These countries have been taking advantage of us for years. Screw Canada and Europe. Like our very excellent President says ” Europe and Canada have no cards”
There are ought to be a travel ban for Canadians who want to use our hospitals, doctors and nurses. Force them to use their socialized healthcare system and watch them squeal. It will be a great advertisement for the failures of socialized medicine.
That seems harsh. What do you care if they come and and pay for their medical care or travel and spend in the USA?
It just helps decrease your taxes by helping to pay the bills for the hospitals and doctors offices.
I’ve never had a tax reduced.
Who’s the dude in the pic on the far right?
Jonathan Pedneault, co-leader of the green 🤢 party
Obama’s Canadian cousin. Jk! 🤣
Canada, look at the bright new shiny object. 🙄
‘We moved from an election where people wanted change to an election that’s really much more about leadership,’ said Darrell Bricker, CEO of Ipsos Public Affairs.
‘The ability of the Conservatives to attack the Liberals has been greatly diminished, because people are focused on the here and now and the near term future, not on what happened over the last 10 years,’ he said by phone.

Voting left to punish PT. Like cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face.
Forget it, Jake. It’s Canada
I remember a statistic quoted here at CTS that 80% of the Canadian population has little understanding of how their economy works. This is a result of where they get their information from – what is called the legacy (Mockingbird) media. “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” FAFO.
Look at that crew… even the Sikh is a Soy Boy… my goodness…
If only more newssites had the integrity and honesty of the Conservative Tree House, North America wouldn’t be in this faux media created mess that it is President Donald J. Trump’s fault that Canada has become an economic disaster. Canadian Liberal MPS were in the driver’s seat in Canada for almost the ten last years. Their accusations that it is President Trump’s fault flies in the face of millions of Truth Seekers who know that DJT not only works to save America, but the entire Western World. From my lonely perch here at Canada Free Press, I thank God for the professional integrity of Sundance’s CTH.
Liberal patriotism, an oxymoron if I ever heard one. What’s patriotic about fundamentally changing your demographics, culture, laws, and selling out your economy to China?
Why would you want a Conservative government when Trump wants the Liberals?
“Boycotts by Canadians are generally welcomed in the U.S. hospitality industry”.
What exactly do you mean by this comment?
Here in Myrtle Beach SC there are hundreds, if not thousands of Canadians that come here every winter. We’ve made a few friends with some of them over the years.
From what they tell us, at least from what they claim, very few will be returning next year.
How does that help the hospitality industry?
Completely counterintuitive.
In previous posts the claim from the hospitality industry is that Canadians, by and large, are poor tippers. This sentiment comes from a service industry heavily reliant on tips.
Presumably, these hotels will fill up with travelers from other parts who give generous gratuities.
I speak from experience here, Canadians are horrible tippers, french Canadians the absolute worst.
Do you know the difference between a canoe and a Canadien?
Occasionally a canoe will tip.
In northern Minnesota, along the north shore of Lake Superior, many of the hotels and restaurants used to give parity pricing to Canadian tourists.
Many of those tourists are still asking for parity pricing — American dollar = Canadian dollar — and any business that gives parity pricing loses a lot of money.
Canadian winters can be a real bitch. The kinds of people who go to SC, FLA, and the like every year are plain & simple avoiding the cold. Snowbirds.
So let’s see how many of those big talkers actually have the balls to spend all of next winter here (I’m Canadian). I suspect the real number turns out to be a lot smaller.
Unless of course the CAD$ has gone into the toilet by next winter and they just plain can’t afford it!
Definitely not true in Hawaii. Canadians are an important contributor to the hospitality industry here in winter. This comes on top of Japanese tourists not bouncing back from Covid. Then the attacks here on STRs which affects tourists from the mainland.
It would be a welcomed response to American ears to hear there’s availability for booking a room, reservations at a restaurant, available flight seats.
Hey Lady from Canada you said that Americans will be impacted by this tariff imposed on Canada, why are you spending billions of dollar to put billboards on the red states? Do you have a brain? You should remember that April 2 is LIBERATION DAY!!!!!! MORE JOBS FOR ALL AMERICANS. COMPANIES ARE FLEEING CANADA AND MOVING HERE IN THE UNITED STATES. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS PRESIDENT TRUMP AND HIS CABINETS.
Let’s see how much socialism that are willing to pay for. Should be interesting in a few years.
Well ain’t she cute?
Canada coming on like a little ankle biting Chihuahua……lots of noise.
Purchase all the billboard and other adverts that you like and name drop Ms Lindsey all day long …..but…..what part of mandate is not understood in the Great White North?
Agree!
I caught the Ms. Lindsey name drop too.
🤣 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️
Well, she is easier on the eyes and ears than Christa Freeasabird.
Carnage has scheduled the election because he thinks he can win.
YES, but also this is all about pre-emption, given the elections were to be called in October.
1- Pre-empt the opposition parties from developing new political lines that reflect the new issues (new political reality).
2- Pre-empt the electorate from feeling new economic realities that Trump can bring, the least being tariffs (he has publicly talked about Canada’s closed banking and financial services sectors).
3- Pre-empt Trump from influencing the Canadian public in other unforseen ways, or developing functional relationships with other Canadian political leaders.
This here ^^^ is why I come to the Tree House.
Rock hits it on the nail head.
They are whining about a possible 25% tariff, but look what they are doing to us! Here are just some of the tariffs that Canada imposes on us.:
Dairy products: Tariffs range from 245% to 298%.
Poultry: A tariff of 238% is applied
Fish: There is a 100% tariff.
Tobacco: Also a 100% tariff.
Consumer goods: A general tariff of 30% is applied.
Lumber: Tariffs are at 20%.
Beware Sad Saps selling Snow Jobs.
“The latest strategy by the Canadian government is to rent billboards in various red states, trying to convince Americans they need Canada more than they need Donald Trump’s reciprocity tariffs. It is a dubious proposition at best, and a little funny all things considered. But hey, the feels.”
For about 6 weeks now, there is a TV advertisement playing in WNY about how awesome the Province of Ontario is and all the good it is for the US.
I saw and noted this as well.
Prolly paid for by USAID. Canada banking is a big time laundromat for the likes of
Killery Roundhouse Cliftonne.
In Minnesota, too.
After years of seeing all the Canadian license plates traveling south to go shopping, it might be fun this summer to head north and get some good deals shopping in Canada.
From the article ”Given that Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre generally sealed his fate with criticism of President Trump while aligning himself with a surging patriotic-leftist movement” This statement is far from true. Mr. Poilievre did NOT criticize President Trump to the extent that Carney and his Liberals have. Neither has he aligned himself with a surging patriotic -leftist movement. Name that movement.
It is the Liberal voter who have been wrapping themselves in the Canadian flag, slamming hateful rhetoric against President Trump, while admonishing all Canadians to ”Buy Canadian.”
The Conservative Party of Canada is RIGHT of center, similar to the Republican Party. The Liberal Party is the LEFT of center, socialist party, which can be equated to the Democrat Party. In fact, the Liberal Party is indistinguishable from the Democrat Party in most of their policies – abortion, DEI, transgenderism, weakened criminal justice system, spending money in foreign nations rather than at home, on-line censorship, attacks on Charter of Freedoms and Rights, a lapdog media which receives government funding and is biased towards the Liberal narrative, etc.
In my perception, this article shows bias towards the Conservative Party and its leader.
The Conservative party is centre-right by CANADIAN standards.
It’s several steps to the left of MAGA Republicans, maybe close to the establishment RINOs, and is right at home dealing with non-insane Democrats, if such creatures exist any longer.
Our NDP are at least as wacko as the Democrat wackos, and the Liberals are just power-hungry; they’ll say & do whatever they have to do to win.
Precisely. Fetterman would be right at home in the Conservative party up there. By American standards, Canada’s political center is well to the left of our own.
Oh Canada! Waiting for that apology…..sadly our Northern ‘friends’ have not been good neighbors. Illegal criminal armies coming at us from all of our borders. Sex slaves, drug dealers, rapists, murderers, child traffiking, fentanyl. It is disgusting.
Let’s do the friend test: Would a friend let this your home?
Answer: No. Not a friend.
A break from Canada would be nice. Make it a couple of years.
And we haven’t even begun the conversation about Mexico and South America…….
Sorry if I missed this bit of Q&A elsewhere in the comments, but does anyone have a clear picture of why Carney has citizenship in three countries (Canada, UK, and Ireland)? He acquired the Brit citizenship after he was governor of the Bank of England so that’s not it. I’m a bit baffled.
Easy to answer, he has no allegence to any one country, which way is the wind blowing today?
Just a discrete display of NWO accoutrements.
Beware the rider upon the dark horse who knows no true allegiance save the devil who prospers him.
Supposedly he has given up his Ireland and UK citizenship. Canadian citizenship didn’t exist until 1947.
But we have plenty of dual citizens here in the US and should fix our problem first before complaining about Canada.
It wasn’t a complaint. I was just curious how it came about.
Maybe Lutnick can sell him a gold card and he can add a US passport.
Let’s sing along!
D’oh! Canada….
They are clueless.
The games people who seek power will play! Characters of a political play…just look at how they present themselves, the faces, the clothes, etc. A circus has come to Canada where all I would want to do is visit and fish their great waters while meeting the fine citizens of Canada everywhere I may travel.
But smooth talkers just love to enter politics, the sophists have come out to play…except Pierre perhaps. (And now you know who I prefer to lead Canada!)
Just like a socialist to spend money on billboards. Messaging is important; reality is not important. Right up until reality bites you.
Wow. Go to Youtube and look at the comments under this video. The ignorance is truly appalling. But then, of course, these people are watching CNN…so to be expected.
I first wondered if Trump’s “51st state” rhetoric was intended to inspire a renewed nationalism in Canada, which would then help the Conservative-Lite Poilievre kick out the Trudeau-Carney globalists.
So has Carney now initiated the Macron response, which worked in France when facing similar public rejection at the polls?
This chess game is proceeding at more levels than I can follow.
I wound not confuse their anti-Americanism with patriotism. There is no “Canada First” movement.
I lived in Toronto for five years, admittedly a long time ago. I got a little tired of having the natives looking down their collective noses at the US, so I did a little research on charitable giving in Canada. What I discovered is that Canadians were among the least charitable people in the world. At the time, they were giving $1 to the Red Cross for every $7 that Americans were giving. I stopped a lot of conversations by point this fact out to them.
From what I have been able to gather, Canadians continue to turn a blind eye to the needs of others. A dose of humility would do them all some good.
Goes right along with Canucks being stingy tippers.
It has been reported that Canada approved 600 million dollars several years ago to install the Australian over the horizon radar to detect missiles from China and Russia. Gov. Trudeau never appropriated the money.
Carney all of a sudden is going to make it happen.
Isn’t it amazing how a little tariff and takeover talk makes some people more focused on defense?
It will probably take more than radar to satisfy President Trump though.
I do not know what to think living on the front here at the USA/canuck border.
I imagine we will be seeing military bases as canada continues to slid down the slippery slope
to Armageddon.
Once it goes too far, we will have to invade, one way or another, to avoid a powerful enemy
sharing the northern border.
This could be our Russia vs nato moment.
In my humble opinion. You don’t truly love your country unless you’re a conservative. A conservative that actually does what they said they would do. Actions are all I look at anymore. The majority of politicians lie, as the smart folks here know already. I am so happy we have the greatest POTUS in history in DJT. By this summer the economy will be undeniably strong and the American Dream will be back like never before. God bless the smartest host and audience here! God bless the USA! FREEEEEDOM!
He’s already getting them to spend in America. Signs lol
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 ..just a sec…🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Canadians are appalled that they will not be allowed to continue economically raping Americans…That’s rich!
ooh, putting up a couple billboards ought to do it. 🤣🤣🤣
What arrogance she displays.Nasty like Trump says
I don’t see people acknowledging this, but seems the ONLY reason that Carney WANTS tariffs (instead of simply facilitating robust free trade)
is because
Wait for it…
Because the GOVERNMENT is losing the American tarriffs and that BIG pot of money is going away from their control.
Now they will devalue their currency and subsidize their manufacturers with the tariffs they collect.
Why? Because the GOVERNMENTwants to control the big pot of money that will come from collecting their tariffs.
They can’t do that if they just stop with the tariffs all together and have free trade.
Otherwise, there is no point in all the machinations they are going through.
Canadian Socialists have no greater friend than Donald Trump.
From less than 20% in the polls, now at 42%, the limousine Liberals are ecstatic Trump has filled their tank with gas.
And “he doesn’t care”. Unintended consequences? Or a secret admirer of fake flattery?
lol, is that supposed to be Obama on the right?
The guy in the turban. Vote for him.
ROFL! Canada is desperate. Notice how none of the CNN or MSNBC interviewers asks the Canadians, “If you’re so against tariffs, why do you have 250% tariffs on various products coming from the USA?”
