I do not like this Canadian Prime Minister even a little bit; however, Mark Carney getting elected to run Canada would be the greatest benefit to MAGAnomics in the United States. The insufferable doofus is completely enthralled with the views, perspectives and ideologies of globalism.
Prime Minister Carney’s “conservative” opponent, Pierre Marcel Poilievre, is a softer, gentler, and more effeminate version of former U.S. Presidential candidate Mitt Romney: he growls through his cashmere. In short, Canada is screwed.
All of that said, the normal thinking Canadians need to get through a Romney to get to a Trump; so, perhaps it’s better if Canada just increases the speed of the downward economic slope by installing Carney.
Somewhere around 80% of Canadians have no concept of how their economy is functioning {GO DEEP}. Most Canadians seem to think they have some form of capitalistic system in operation and tweeking the knobs will fix things; it won’t.
So, from an American political perspective, having Mark Carney carry out his policies and watching the system therein collapse, might break the borg-mindset. It will be massively painful for Canadians when their currency hits around 0.25¢ to the US dollar. However, that currency collapse will ¹more than eliminate any Trump tariff impact.
Prime Minister Carney outlined yesterday how he will increase the industrial carbon tax in order to align with U.K and EU trade partners on the issue of climate change. Taxing carbon, he says, is the key to unlocking excellent trade agreements with other ‘global trade partners’ who can then fill the void created by disconnecting Canada from the USA economy.
No, really, he said that. Carney believes it with all his heart. These economic comments come on the heels of Mark Carney telling French President Emmanuel Macron –in public– that Canada was the most European of countries outside the EU. WATCH THIS (prompted):
¹Here’s how it will happen. CAD = Canadian Dollar, USD = U.S Dollar
President Trump hits Canada with an approximately 50% tariff. Let’s say an import widget from Canada costs the purchaser/importer $100 CAD + 50% tariff, now $150 CAD.
$1 CAD = 0.70¢ USD
Without U.S. tariff, it costs $70 USD to purchase the $100 CAD widget.
With the U.S tariff it would take $105 USD to purchase $150 Canadian widget
However, due to economic policy, Canada’s dependence on the USA market and the tariff battle, the Canadian currency drops around 30%. $1 CAD now equals 0.50¢ USD
With currency drop it now costs $50 USD to purchase the original $100 Canadian widget. $75 USD with tariff.
BEFORE: $70 USD without U.S. tariff, or AFTER: $75 USD with 50% U.S. tariff. A net change of $5.
But wait, back to Mark Carney’s plan. As stated in his tariff policy, the prime minister will take income from the Canadian side of the tariff equation (countervailing duties) to subsidize the impacted export sector. Just like China and the EU did in ’17, ’18 and ’19, the Canadian government plans to offset the difference to the U.S. consumer by subsidizing the exporter with import tariff income. All of this is done to retain access to USA consumers.
The final outcome, the U.S. purchaser is back to the original price of $70, only now that same outcome is evident with an invisible $50 tariff.
This is what China tried to do. This is what the EU tried to do. This is what Canada is now planning to do to retain access to the U.S. market while they look for alternatives.
But wait, it gets better….
….. As the Canadian financial sector evaluates the likely drop in the CAD currency, they seek safe harbor investment to retain the value of their money. The reciprocal tariffs are hitting every currency. The Canadian finance sector purchases dollar and dollar-backed assets to retain their value. This approach increases the value of the U.S dollar.
D’oh Canada!
In the final irony of this entire situation, the G7 is again scheduled to be held in Canada.
The picture below is from the last time the G7 was held in Canada.
History rhymes and a loving God creates the natural balance of things.

I really do have fondness for Canada & Canadians. I wish America could continue to support them in the manner they’re accustomed to.
Unfortunately, their Woke Far Left Radical Environmentalism is going to inflict much economic pain on Canada.
Furthermore, the USA is $36 Trillion in debt – PLUS the estimated amount of unfunded future U.S. mandates, including Social Security and Medicare, is a staggering $175.3 trillion.
The USA can no longer afford to pay to prop up Canada’s Leftist ideologically driven agenda. It’s time for them, the UK & the EU to return to fiscally conservative economic reality & END THIS BANKRUPTING UNSUSTAINABLE, WASTEFUL, UNPRODUCTIVE BULL💩💩💩💩!
“I wish America could continue to support them in the manner they’re accustomed to.”
No. Don’t care who is in charge of Canada, but never again should we ever be giving them what they are accustomed to. We have people in our own country that need support even more.
Yes. Veterans. My bronze star husband got so mucked up.
Many of my Winterpeg relatives also have homes in the Dallas area. Some are American citizens that married Canadians and get retirement in 2 countries.
My neighborhood in Arizona is full of Canadians that own their houses here.
They are smug and superior and anti-Trump. Very “global”. Only a few I’ve met from Alberta are real down to earth people.
There are also a number of Canadian banks down here. PNC and Harris, I believe are Canadian.
I think TD Bank is Canadian…
That would be this TD bank –
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c153d14vqwyo
Largest fine in history for money laundering with drug cartels!
“They are smug and superior…”
They may act smug and superior, but they will get a lesson on how to tamp that down a bit, very soon.
Friends don’t get friends drunk and then take them out back in the parking lot, roll them and steal their wallets.
I like Canadians, too. I like Europeans. Maybe 15 years ago, I dreamed that I might be able to afford to see Europe on the back of a BMW motorcycle. I can probably afford that now (not sure if my wife would go along). Now, I don’t want to. I don’t want to head into a war zone with corrupt governments, corrupt police, Muslim citizens who resent me being there or being alive, and in particular, I won’t do it unarmed.
Canada was also once on my bucket list, and don’t ya know it, now I only live 2 hours from the border. The best part of Canada is easily within reach. Any desire I had to see Canada in person dulled significantly, with their COVID policies, and how THEIR corrupt government treated their own patriotic citizens and truckers. Today? Well, if they hate me and my country (per recent polls) and blame me for Trump, I’m more than willing to hate them back and let them stew alone in a quagmire of their own making.
The Canadian Marxists are correct. Canada is not, and never will be, America. Americans somehow, someway, not matter how upside down our own world has become, found the stones to elect Trump twice. Americans lined up on Christian morality, the US Constitution and all important Bill of Rights, free enterprise, and basic honesty. I don’t Canadians, for all their promise and virtues, can ever find what it takes, to do what America is now trying to do. To #1, recognize the Communist insurgency within our own midst, and #2, to do what it takes, in the Marxist words, “by any means necessary”, to turn it back. The difference between America’s leftists and “MAGA”/patriot citizens? We PREFER using the Constitution and law for it’s proper purpose first, and are willing to use violence and force of arms as a last resort. America’s leftist have no similar moral restrictions.
Canadians? I think that they’d be too polite to show the Marxists the door, i.e. the door to stand down or exit the country, or the exit to hell. American’s just don’t give a d*mn, either way.
I don’t know OldSalt, I once sat down and had coffee with some Canadians in Honolulu. They were trying to bring their intolerance to Hawaii. Hawaiians are not as straight laced as all that. They are all about partying and dancing…for a price, of course. Canadians just don’t have to same definitions and language for freedom as we here in the USA.
There a woman who has a doll blog who is a Canadian. She somehow thinks her opinion on American politics matter to those who visit her blog. One post she issued after President Trump was re-elected was her dolls mourning at a cemetery that Trump won. Any Canadian who sticks their snobby noses like this into our politics deserves everything that comes their way.
That woman may show all of us the mentality of the average Canadian.
Her dolls mourn at a cemetery? Whoa, that is a serious mental health issue right there.
As they say in the NBA when an aggrieved party is on the free-throw line: “And one.”
History is most fascinating with a front row seat. watch gold and silver my friends.
Leftist ideologies are unsustainable. Period. The more entrenched they get, the steeper the dive. They will leach off of the largest host until the host is left in a decomposing pile of rot.
Canada, EU, Britain, all fall into this category. We must protect our country from their insatiable parasitic appetite.
Next, we have states that are doing the same thing. California being the poster child.
“They will leach off of the largest host until the host is left in a decomposing pile of rot.”
Funny how entire countries can be just as narcicistic as individuals.
All about them and what they get, and when they’re done leaching off their host — and have almost sucked them dry — move on to their next victim.
I just don’t have too much fondness for Canadians.
Once when I was crossing the border into Canada they stopped me and went through my car up one side and down the other simply because I always carry a sleeping bag on the backseat. I guess the border guards thought I was running away from home or something. I simply got out a book and read while they fiddled around.
Additionally, they couldn’t understand why I would go to Canada to get my aspirin. After a couple of hours they let me go but still looked suspicious.
So if I get caught in a mudslide or avalanche I can stay warm and/or sleep until help comes. Also, Canadian aspirin has a little codeine and that ain’t legal in USA. It ain’t legal for me to bring it back to the USA either so I quit that little trick. My husband once bought Cuban cigars when we were in Canada and put them in my luggage because I look so honest. He was right, they didn’t check my suitcase.
It could even get better …. Canada is now on a path headed toward an EU membership application.
When they do float the idea to the EU, President Trump needs to remind Canada that does not relive them of the Trade Pact they signed with the US and they may get it twice with US Tariffs, once with the North American Trade Pact as well as what the EU is suffering. The president would also put the EU on notice that Canada would NOT be in play as means to enter the US Markets because of an EU membership … should Canada decide to exercise the Exit Clause from their North American Agreement … the tariffs would be easily tailored to fix that plan.
Also, my apologies … I had thought the Financial Masters of Canada were headed towards hiring a Banker PM to change their direction of attack on President Trump as well as foster more support inside the US from Banker buddies, for help vs President Trump’s policies. If this guy is an example of the banker PM they plan install … my comment is withdrawn.
Canada is almost totally Australianized. It is already hooked into Europe because it is a member of the British Commonwealth already.
Wrong on both counts. There are no trade advantages for any country in the Commonwealth (although there used to be 20%) because Britain dumped everyone to enter the old European Common Market. And two, you must have missed the UK vote to leave the EU a few years back?
Australia went through the pain of becoming a “free market” many many years ago. The “Commonwealth” is mainly odd ceremonial leftovers and friendships now, like the Commonwealth Games. The anti Australian bashing that takes place on here from time to time is unfortunate and ignorant.
A Goldman Sachs banker is Goldman Sachs first, and banker a distant second. The former is the poster child company of the globalists and WEF.
So you want Canada to follow the EU? They are on a path of cultural suicide and you want us to follow that same path?
No, we must reject the radical left, we must reject the EU and we must reject Mark Carney and all the liberals to end this insanity.
That violates the Monroe Doctrine, which Rubio is strictly enforcing. Not going to happen.
I believe Our Very Stable Brilliant President Trump is going to turn this World inside out, upside down, and turn it around. It’s like Clint Eastwood said in The Unforgiven, “All right, I’m coming out… Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I’m not only gonna kill him, but I’m gonna kill his wife, all his friends, and burn his damn house down.”
I predict an underhanded, that is, a maneuver outside of any trade agreement or treaties amongst the EU and China to prop up Canada’s economy against ours. And, this help will be given in such a way that Canada will surreptitiously surrender its sovereignty to the EU and, in particular, China. The ordinary Canadian will learn of the cost well after the fact of the surrender.
Trump saw that the western countries plus China were binding together in an unstated but ironclad unification to achieve the globalists’ objective of a one world government which operates outside any constitution or framework which absolutely guarantees human rights. In other words, the globalist government conditionally grants individual rights in a de facto tentative or provisional manner. The government is absolute always.
Trump saw this and he has been wrecking their dream since beginning his term. If Canada was to join the USA then it must be under the authority, spirit, and rules of the Constitution which, amongst many things, absolutely protects individual rights. The globalists consider this an anathema.
Canada must be annexed by force of arms; its Crown loyalists liquidated in the process.
No royal subjects on our border.
If you did that Canada would be about 100% Chinese, Indian, First Nation and French.
A classic example of the cure being worse than the disease!
Presently, all Canadians are royal subjects.
Those who will fight on behalf of the King of England must be liquidated in a revolutionary war.
The resulting Canadian Republic can surely be pluralistic and include all races.
This talk of liquidation is just stupid.
That will never happen as it opposes, amongst other reasons, the spirit of the Constitution. We do not want prisoners of war as fellow citizens. That is absurd in a cursory contemplation.
The question is do they want to join us and this is decided in a national referendum.
The globalists deindustrialized Canada. The globalists reduced them to a state of servitude. So, a question presents itself as this : To whom do you serve? The EU/China dictators or do you join the USA as equals?
Or, do you claw back your sovereignty from globalists and build up your industries and economy?
The ball is in their court and, in this point of history, they do not have much time.
Hey Canada, you’re not dealing with Biden anymore! Get woke, go broke! Either get with this mover/shaker Trump or go crawl under that rock! UK/EU is faltering!
Agree completely. It is only by the grace of God that Trump, instead of Biden or Kamala, is in charge.
Thank God for his mercy.
The theory about CAD to USD is nice, until you start believing the other reporting that is most Canadian families live within 100 dollars of insolvability.
Combined with the fact that Canada today is mainly a service economy, selling services to eachother and importing a majority of tangible goods from the US and abroad.
That means tarrifs mean on the medium to long term there will be no Canada left as every Canadian family will be bankrupt and living in the street.
Of course the politicians wont care about any of it, they get their money at the printing press.
I do not think the average American family has much leeway either on DEBT but that is a topic for another thread.
Then maybe the Canadian people will vote for politicians who are rational and want to deal with America on a level playing field. These tariffs work on multiple fronts.
Typically Canadians look to vote for and are succeptible to freebees like:
universal healthcare,
universal dental benefits,
UBI universal basic income. <=+ WEF alert
Freebies are the bread and butter for “liberals” pretending to give away freebies.
I say airquotes because the liberals in Canada have not much to do anymore with liberalism.
Todays liberalism is nice until you run out of other’s people money to spend.
The other parties?
The NDP – which is supposed to be a “workers party” – was happily slapping down on the trucker protest as well. So its far past being a worker party… Just rubber stamping liberal policies and propping up Trudeau liberal gov.
They are one and the same party today.
The conservatives are a bit better, but they seem to be mainly waiting with an opinion until the dust settled (for example: polievre never had a meeting with the trucker protest) Not sure if that makes for good leadership
The only politician who spoke out during that time was Maxine Bernier, a former conservative party member.
But his party is being made as popular as the AfD in Germany.
Canada has interesting choinces ahead. Probably for Canadians to move to a different country and then pick the country they want to best live in 😀
I immigrated to the US from Australia on a New Zealand passport. At the time the NZ $ was 0.42c. It eventually went to 0.39c. That’s why I immigrated to the US from Australia. Lived at Bondi Beach for 3 years. So what SD says is highly probable. I’ve seen it happen before. That was in the 90’s.
A Kiwi living at Bondi for three years doesn’t make you an Australian.
It gets better. More than 60 countries have pegged their currency to the US dollar, so the Canadian dollar will slip against them all. Our neighbors to the north are in for a rude surprise when they head off on holiday to Bermuda or the Bahamas, Barbados …
Mark your calendar: The 51st G7 summit will be held from 15 to 17 June 2025 in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada. Kananaskis previously hosted the 28th G8 summit.
Will be most ironic if Trump arranges for Russia to rejoin upcoming summit in Canada as G8. (Russia suspended from G8 in 2014 for annexing Crimea.)
Oilberta home of rednecks and ranches.
When they raised oil taxes early 80s the drillers flocked to Denver
Anyone have any good ETFs that short the Canadian dollar? 2 or 3x preferred.
ProShares Triple Canuck Bear (TCB).
Just kidding, sorry.
Unless you plan to sell quickly don’t buy leveraged ETFs, they lose to much value due to the daily rebalancing and volatility decay .
NEW Canadian breakthrough to save the world!
I remember reading a several years ago the reason why Carney became BOE director was that he worked in cahoots with the Brits and French to bail them out of the massive bank derivative collapse they were both facing. What he did was pledge the pension funds of Canada to get a loan to pay off the Brits and French debt.
I don’t have a link, only this small blurb I saved if anyone is interested in digging further:
It’s part of those horribly constructed derivative chains…In 2010 they glued all the central banks together through one of the smaller german exchanges tied to a swiss twink. Unfortunately France and England(*) had to front the capital to back the options, so they did the most retarded thing possible.
They over leveraged their entire pension (both public and private) and insurance industries to the tune of 500% based on the recapitalization of Greece and putting the screws to the other European countries in trouble. Unfortunately the fatal flaw in the plan is France hasn’t been particularly good at managing budgets, ever. And England hasn’t had any money since Henry the 8th. Given this information. Guess which country’s collateral; pensions and savings accounts were used? Starts with a C ends with an eh? (* and by proxy the Canadian government also kind of signed on with the shit show, why do people think Carney…a Canuck…is sitting and running the BOE? Take a wild guess how badly designed the shit show is?)
If anyone in Canada, England or France just felt their stomach drop out and got worried. You are 5 years too late. They’ve already spent it all. It’s why all the pension funds in all three countries are announcing horrible shortfalls in the hundreds of billions. They can’t hide it anymore with the underlying math of a 110 year ponzi scheme collapsing now that they’ve spent nearly every penny in the Canadian pension system (both public and private). The Canadian banks however are staying Mum on the situation and avoiding the conversation until they have no choice or a bunch of deals they are working on will fall apart. Until that happens, they are going to pretend that there is money in the RRSP system…until it’s obvious what’s happened.
Also this: Please, someone, anyone, keep him from returning to Canada. Canada used to have Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) like the US. They were called Income Trusts. Same thing. Anyway, before becoming head of the Bank of Canada, (while as a ‘mere’ civil servant, albeit with the Goldman pedigree, so he was probably being groomed anyway) he came up with the plan to get rid of the Income Trusts.
Harper was PM at the time. He had campaigned on a promise to not touch the Income Trusts. But the Canadian banks were losing customers away from their unspectacular yield products. Harper was going to have to renege on that promise. Carney’s plan took hold, the Income Trusts were unwound, kicking millions of Canadian seniors in the groin. It wasn’t a reward, of course, but after the Income Trusts were unwound he got the job as Governor of the Bank of Canada.
A lot to digest! Thank You!
The hoarded wealth of the so called royal families must be confiscated and redistributed as reparations for the colonialism and slavery that created the vast hoardings; after which all royal bloodlines must be ended permanently.
No King but Christ.
Calling for the death of people in the name of Christ is hardly Christian. Britain outlawed slavery years before the US.
The Carney barker.
Step right up folks, get your carbon credits here.
Canada’s latest Dudley Do-Right.

Or a lumberjack…
Hate to see our northern friends have to go through the same kind of failed admins we did to get to Trump. But, like Sundance said, this is perhaps a necessary sort of ‘acceleration’ mode to get to a real recovery quicker perhaps.
A Trump in Canada isn’t possible though . If the political parties in the USA chose their leaders like the parties do in Canada Trump never would have got the Republican nomination.
It’s even worse. The leaders of Canadian political parties have to personally approve every candidate who runs under the party banner, so nobody who is a true risk to the party establishment can get their foot in the door in the first place, or if they actually get in, can be cut off at the knees in an instant with no recourse.
I believe we have that same political party stranglehold here in the US also.
Americans have a primary mechanism where the people can push a candidate into a race even without the approval of the party establishment. There is no equivalent in Canada. Even if you win a Canadian party’s nomination race for a riding, the party leader can revoke your candidacy at any time for any reason.
The risk: they go through the pain it takes to get to a Canadian Trump and then, on the way, get irreversibly mixed up with a Canadian Mussolini or worse.
Not a good situation for us on the other side of the longest border in the world.
Canadians are very nationalist/patriotic and they have always been jealous of/resented their Southern neighbor. This will be used against them by their left wing politicians and any suffering they endure due to left wing policies will be blamed on the U.S. making them even more willing to elect left wing politicians that will play on their love of Canada over the U.S. This is not going to be pretty.
Deleted.
As a Canadian I agree, it’s really getting ugly over here via the anti-Trump hysteria. I’m afraid they are riling up the leftwing nuts to such an extreme that something ugly might happen.
I did a quick look at Canada’s Export Trade numbers:
76% of their exports go to the US or $595B, this by far the only place where Canada has a SURPLUS in Trade that floats nearly ALL of Canada’s export economy’s actual surplus.
3% go to China Inc. where Canada runs a large deficit in trade.
1.2% go to Mexico where Canada runs a moderate deficit in trade.
2.2% go to Japan where there is a very slight surplus.
2.6% go the UK with a very slight surplus.
15% go to the rest of the global economy with national shares each under 1%, with mixed balances in trade.
If Canada goes the Green New Deal Carbon Tax route … they immediately cut all chances of making up any losses from cuts in US trade with anybody belonging to BRICS … as well as any other nation that pulled out of the Paris Accords.
The EU does not have the capacity to absorb even a small share of the lost US Trade.
Australia and New Zealand, while under socialist governments already have trade issues with China Inc. and even the Socialists there see the Green New Deal as not such a good idea … especially with those socialist governments are under pressure from nationalist leaning voters.
Even US Financial Puppet Masters have PUBLICLY backed off ESG and are attempting to work more subtle approaches.
They already run surpluses with Japan, Mexico and other smaller economies, which would be unlikely to desire increasing their deficits with Canada.
If Canada does go the EU membership route, what does Canada actually bring to the EU other than more attention from President Trump’s tariff considerations and the possibility of the Canadian Dollar further devaluing the Euro??
Bottom line … the Global Financial Economic environment does not match up with the direction the current crop of Banker PM’s the Financial Masters of Canada are seeking to install. It will be interesting see what happens when the light bulb goes off in the brains of the Canadian Financial Masters.
“If Canada goes the Green New Deal Carbon Tax route … they immediately cut all chances of making up any losses from cuts in US trade with anybody belonging to BRICS … as well as any other nation that pulled out of the Paris Accords.“
It is not stupidity. It is how the globalists fund their agenda. It is who and what they are.
George Soros has no government, no people, no army. The globalists are parasites that invade a host.
Who “they” are is hard to pin down. But “they” can’t allow the money, earned by others to stop flowing any more than a tick can stop sucking on blood.
Their parasitic behavior is what keeps them alive. They can’t have a healthy, law abiding nation state because the trillions in scams that pay to keep their trillions flowing would come to an end.
It costs a lot of money buy governments and keep the structures in place to steal from the citizens.
They could care less if we become poor. It just makes us easier to control.
“It will be interesting see what happens when the light bulb goes off in the brains of the Canadian Financial Masters.”
First assumption – they will even recognize the light bulb went off.
Second assumption – they have enough guts to admit it went off and speak about it
There is not one person brave enough to admit it to themselves, let alone speak it with any conviction to the others. These people are so entrenched in their rightness, they will not allow anything that would jeopardize that position.
That light bulb moment will be ended with a reflexive pull of the chain.
Her they GO! Right down the same sewer again. If you think soi boi justie was something wait till this dunderhead geta a good grip on Canada!
Unelected, installed Carney promised he would repeal the CONSUMER Carbon Tax which has crushed Canadians.
And as his first official act, he dragged the media in with all their cameras and signed the paper repealing it.
The problem is that such a proclamation has to be registered with the government…something called “Orders in Council”…and to date it seems no one can find where it has been so listed.
How about that…
But Net Zero Man, being a deep green worshipper of Gaia and a WEF globalist, was obviously going to primp and preen on this issue while simply shifting the economy crushing tax upward.
Repealed?
Simply repositioned where it will of course cascade right back to where it started.
His word or handshake is worth squat, which I am certain President Trump understands and which will figure into his dealings with this shape shifting liar.
Hell will freeze over before Carney either calls an election (0% chance) or is required to hold one.
You deserve so much better, Canadian brothers and sisters. God be with you 🙏🏻
Canadians need to realize that if they want the benefits of global warming, everybody has to contribute. God knows the Snow Mexicans need an extended growing season to combat national hunger.
Trying to convince the globalist of this real fact is like cracking an egg with a feather.its almost like the demonic left has no wisdom they’re just stupid all the time.
Demonic influence blinds people to truth.
They simply can’t see it unless the scales fall from their eyes.
That requires the mercy of God, in whom these blind fools do not believe.
These economic comments come on the heels of Mark Carney telling French President Emmanuel Macron –in public– that Canada was the most European of countries outside the EU.
Yes, to join the EU, a country must align its laws and policies with the EU’s environmental acquis, including climate change legislation, and demonstrate the ability to effectively implement and enforce them.
To become a full member, Canada would need to adopt all the supranational laws that have been passed since the creation of the EU, in 1957. There are a lot of them, and very few possibilities to carve out exceptions.
Six days ago…..Brussels is ‘honored’ Canadians want to join the EU — but says it won’t happen (Politico)
He’s trying to get Canada into the EU, but in order to do that, Canada has to jump through a lot of hoops, one of which will be having to rewrite Canada’s Constitution.
On some issues, decisions from the European Court of Justice would supersede those of the Supreme Court. In effect, joining the EU would require a complete overhaul of our institutional, policy, and regulatory landscape.
Watch, next in line will be getting rid of Alberta’s ability to secede from Canada. That window is closing fast. But the fix is already in. The Canadians are already screwed because Mr. Cashmere will be pushing for the same things that Mr. Banker is pushing for.
New Zealand is the most European country outside the EU which until Brexit Britain was a part. Of the British Commonwealth new world countries, NZ is about 75% British, 25% American, Australia is about 50% British, 50% American, Canada is about 25% British, 75% American in cultural nuance. And they all seem about 99% anti American.
Wrong on all assertions.
So it is anathema for Canada to become a state, but ok to join the EU. This is state narcissism. The government of Canada must survive but hand the sovereignty of its citizens to another entity. This is the fatal flaw of the EU, and why that continent is headed nowhere good.
Thank you SD. Love it “History rhymes and a loving God creates the natural balance of things”
Went to a yard sale in St. Paul last summer and bought a bag full of Canadian coins for $10. When we got home and I counted those coins and saw I bought $85 worth of Canadian money for $10.
Carney’s going to make all Canadian currency worthless.
According to what Sundance said when he visited Europe if Canada is in the EU then we can enter Canada and have unmonitored travel within the EU (without being scrutinized by any government)?
Interesting note: we went on a Canadian Rockies Tour … from Calgary to Banff.
Beautiful and great Tour … highly recommended … after taking a similar tour of the US Parks and Rockies … of course which we did.
The tour passed many of the windmill farms (2 x each on the way out and back) on the open plains of Western Canada and they all had 1-thing in common … the windmills were NOT SPINNING. Even the Green Weenie Canadian Tour guide was at a loss for words and he even had pointed out some of the “maintenance issues” with their China Inc. supplied devices. The guide also noted, there were issues connecting the wind farms to the grid because of COST and projected COST to consumers once connected to pay off the construction and actual transmission costs.
The whole purpose of Carney increasing Canadian tariffs is to generate an excuse to create a mechanism to replace the loss of money currently being paid to THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT from the unfair tariffs previously paid by the Americans.
They are not stupid and fully understand what Sundance has explained to us.
“The prime minister will take income FROM THE CANADIAN SIDE of the tariff equation (countervailing duties) to subsidize the impacted export sector. Just like China and the EU did in ’17, ’18 and ’19, “
They don’t care that the Canadian people are getting screwed by this subsidy.
They want money from the new tariffs because it is money that goes to the government and can be used to further their globalist agenda by redistributing the subsidies as they see fit.
If they do “fully understand” what Sundance has explained … there will be NO NEW money from Tariffs and possible drain on government finances to subsidize the exports.
Geee … guess where any money lost due to subsidizing exports will come from … maybe increase in VAT or other fees??
The way I read what Sundance said is that the money will come from the Canadian side of the tariffs.
People are looking at this as if it just makes everything even and no extra money is generated that can be laundered.
But Carney, not the Canadian manufacturers, is getting money that comes from the Canadian side of the tariffs and then Carney will have a big pot of money to redistribute the subsidies.
If anyone believes The Big Pot Of Momey will ALL be redistributed where they say it is going, well then they are naive.
There is no point in the tariffs war other than for the Canadian GOVERNMENR to continue to collect money that they can redistribute as they wish.
Why else bother with what everyone else is seeing as a “foolish” tariff war?
Everyone laughed and thought the democrats were stupid to fund transgender mice experiments or green new scams.
They weren’t stupid. They were money laundering to further their globalist agenda.
there is ONE candidate in Canada who is not horrible…

Mark Carney will be the destruction of Canada, you think people are suffering now, wait until this man is in charge.
Any conservative that wants this man in power can no longer call themselves a conservative you are a communist liberal.
This is one of the biggest reasons why the EU turned down Canada’s request to join the EU:
BMW posts 37% drop in annual net profit, warns of ‘subdued’ Chinese demand
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/14/bmw-bmw-full-year-results-2024.html
BMW is a cornerstone of the German economy, particularly within the automotive industry, contributing significantly to exports, employment, and brand value
Ouch! That’s gonna leave a mark. The EU can’t afford to take on the Canadian welfare state.
The deep state is real and he’s proof.
A note about the G7 membership, with respect to the upcoming conference:
China Inc. is an observer and represents BRICS as well as Russia (who was expelled)
US
Canada
Japan
EU and EU member nations (all on the same membership card)
Note to President Trump: have Russia reinstated at least as an observer, preferably as a member.
Cannot recommend enough this podcast between Canadians Jordan Peterson and Jim Balsillie, retired co-founder and co-CEO of Research in Motion, known predominantly for the BlackBerry.
They go through how (in Balsillie’s understanding) Canada was thriving under conservative-libertarian “hands off” economic leadership, but did not respond when the developed world transitioned into an information economy. As a result of refusing to play the new game (from physical assets to virtual assets) smartly, Canada went from first to last in several meaningful categories.
This offers a perspective I’ve found expressed nowhere in the Lower 48. It’s informative, and certainly intriguing.
He is the walking, talking, living, breathing argument AGAINST Canada becoming the 51st state.
You are nice to your doofus cousin who lives down the street, family after all. You include him in all the family get-togethers, watch out for him, make it clear to bullies that he’s your cousin so lay off him, heck you might even slip him a Benjamin from time to time. But you DON’T bring him into the family meetings at which you decide how to invest Grandma’s estate. No family vote for doofus.
US purchaser pays the same, but US gov is collecting $50 Tarriff.
True. But …..
And this is important to understand:
The CANADIAN GOVERMENT will benefit at the expense of the Canadian citizen because….
Sundance: “ The prime minister will take income FROM THE CANADIAN SIDE of the tariff equation (countervailing duties) to subsidize the impacted export sector.”
The Canadian government, through all of these machinations, will now end up getting the money from the Canadian citizens to redistribute as “subsidies”” however they see fit.
It is clever money laundering.
It makes sense when you understand they don’t care their citizens are getting screwed any more than our government cared that we were getting screwed by all of the theft DOGE exposed.
From the Loonie to the Euro. Can’t make this stuff up.
Canada can hire half the population to dig holes in the morning and the other half to fill them in the afternoon. They will then be carbon taxed to pay for the Green trading schemes between Canada and the EU. Good times for all.
History has shown that no country can tax themselves into success and profitability. This will be the beginning of the end of Canada as we know it. The EU and UK are in no condition to support themselves or the continent they live within, and Canada expects support from the other side of the pond.
GOOD LUCK A’
Canada, like the UK, is GONE! they’ve gone into the land of marxist globalism to “F” over their own people and destroy the country. It’s amazing to watch. Stupid is as stupid does. LO! they want to tax carbon because????
I wonder what Alberta thinks of carbon tax.

Pierre Poilievre rightly points out that there is nothing wrong with meeting other foreign leaders, but we need results.
Listen to his example.

Pres. Trump explained all this (or tried to) in one of his first interviews post-inauguration. When the pig squeals they will change their behavior (devalue their own currency) and one of their prime motivators is to avoid collateral damage in other markets they have. Win, and then win again.
Thank you, Sundance!
I am not sure I buy in to this. I don’t follow international trade enough to know what will actually happen, but I don’t think this adds up to what Canada is actually doing. I haven’t figured out why this clown got placed in the premiership and I had decided it wouldn’t matter much because they will have to have an actual election this year. Carney is obviously a Communist Globalist, and I figured Canadians would discover that in time to save their Country from it’s stupid leaders, again.
But now I am not so sure most of them will care because Trump has pissed them off enough with his big mouth to make them act very stupidly for a while. Trump should have learned how Canadians felt about his “51st State” BS in January from the 4 Nations Hockey Tournament that the NHL played back in February.
Then Yay Trump. Keep doing it please Mr genius President.
Well, your views are the result of sucking at the big teat of fake news.
It was actually Trudeau who came up with the idea. Trump just parroted what Trudeau said.
In Trudeau’s talks with Trump, Trump said, hey, we need to do something about this trade imbalance, and Trudeau’s response was, well, if you do that, Canada will cease to exist as a country. Then Trump said, well, then you should consider becoming a state of the US.
This Chicken Little schtick of permanent victimhood is getting kind of nauseating.
It seems like the Canadian leadership’s strategy is to crash the stock market because they think it will make President Trump fold!
Maybe Carney is trying to set up a bidding war between Trump and Blackrock to acquire Canada. The problem with that sentence is… is it a joke, or not?
For sure, we are in a period where both power and money have shifting their focus to acquiring physical assets, I assume in anticipation of a great, economic reset. The biggest players have moved away from the so-called Green Economy, so whatever play Carney is making, I can’t believe he’s doing so in ignorance of Davos and Larry Fink.
Aptly named…Fink
Well stated SD.
Hilarious!
Sundance, when referring to Carney, please start putting “elected” in quotation marks. His rise to PM was as democratic as Harris being selected to run for President.
Sundance, if I may ask, what happenes to EXK Endevour Silver Mining stock price, which has mines primarily in Canada, Mexico and a little in US?
Adding new taxes suppresses a country’s economy and does not create wealth except for those running the carbon exchange. Carney is taking advantage of the tariff crises, not wasting it.
Canada has endless natural resources. Pierre P. is smart enough to realize that the key to unlocking canada’s potential is to dig and drill. whether he is romney or not re social welfare stuff (most canadians alas are) , just the dig/drill will suffice.
the q is whether carney is smart enough to call an election immediately to take advantage of the momentum from being anti trump or will wait till the fall. if he does so, pierre p will destroy him–by then canadians will realize what an idiot carney is
Trump is right to bankrupt these morons. Should raise the tariffs by 100 percent and immediately sanction their banks.
I was going to write something ‘smart & sophisticated,’ and then I decided–ah, scroo it!
Pass the Winnamins and Cheetos!!
MAGA 👊👊❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
Not smooth sailing ahead in the economy for either country.

The American economy is a grandly equipped ocean worthy ship, while the Canadian economy is a Chinese junk.
Let Carney wreck Canada, and pray for our Canadian friends to rebuild better afterward.
The Unsinkable Titanic Economy of endless Deficits. Ok. I believe you.
