Any Navy/Coast Guard Treepers that can elaborate on the different missions and resources available between the two entities? Seems some overlap, but I am generally uninformed.
Many people do not even know what the archaic word “boarder” means (someone who rents a room in someone’s house. It can also be a student who lives and studies away from home at a boarding school) and yet it is a word that gets used frequently these days.
Microsoft’s auto-obfuscate feature automatically replaces the word “border” with the word “boarder” without notice.
An other thing microsoft likes to automatically change is “there” to “their” and vice-versa. Frequently microsoft software throws in words to complete phrases which are not appropriate with no warning as well. When I was typing this up., the software kept adding “me” when I would type “to” resulting in the phrase “to me”, which resulted in confusing sentences.
It is really sad that a technology company uses their power for such evil childish attacks. This is intentional, not a programming error.

No ballots should go through the USPS ever again. Eliminate this dept as a vehicle for votes. States need to eliminate mail in balloting completely. There should be one day voting, in person, and done by the end of that day. No early ballots, no mail in ballots, no late ballots. Increase the number of polling stations if need be, but get rid of mail in balloting.
I agree and disagree. There are plenty of US service members who vote in their state of record, people who travel, elderly, very rural, etc.
However, there is clearly massive fraud through the usps. The USPS is already able to track and deliver for signature only.
The postal service should require tracked delivery that requires signature and an ID by the voting individual, who is present at the time of ballot delivery.
There should then be a way for an individual to track that their ballot was returned to the county and recorded as being counted in voter logs.
Ballots sent out, but not signed for, become public record for all to see so that undelivered ballots cannot be magically be returned or counted.

The post-9/11 wars have exacted a staggering toll. Brown University’s Costs of War Project estimates the U.S. has spent $8 trillion—38% of 2020’s GDP—on conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Syria, equating to $24,000 per citizen.
Future interest on this debt could add $2.2 trillion to the national debt by 2050, burdening future generations. Human losses are equally dire: 7,000 service members and 8,000 contractors killed, 55,000 injured, and 940,000 total deaths from direct violence, with 3.6 million more dying indirectly in war zones.
Beyond numbers, the mental health crisis is profound. Veterans and active-duty personnel from these conflicts have died by suicide at four times the rate of combat losses—over 28,000 since 2001, according to 2022 VA data – mainly driven by post-traumatic stress disorder and repeated deployments.
Adding to the exhausting cost of conflict, caring for these veterans will cost $2.2-$2.5 trillion by 2050. These financial and human costs prove the wars’ unsustainability; constrained resources and public concerns require the U.S. to reassess its global security approach.
The mental and physical health costs will not be accurately assessed, IMO, without looking at the numbers and kinds of vaccines that were required for every deployment (Gulf War Syndrome, for instance) and exposures to chemicals in the field, such as agent orange in the Viet Nam era.

Retired Magistrate here: Yes, as you know , my brother, a Vietnam Vet, is one of them who is suffering; in his case ALS. It is a miracle he is still alive.
At one time he could say a few words; now I am happy with a grunt which lets me know that he understands what I am saying. Seeing my brother, John, go through all this is just heartbreaking. He loves his country and is a big Trump supporter. War is Hell.
Husband of a friend was in Thailand during the Viet Nam war. He suffered with cancer for 20 years, it started in his mouth.
Maybe RFK,Jr can take his health initiatives, much further if we put some pressure on him?

The use of agent orange and its effects on humans, wildlife and the environment where it was used was criminal.
My brother was a helicopter repair man in Nam. When he came home he was diagnosed with a blood disorder. Anytime he became sick it was a long and difficult recovery. His son and grandson have also been tested for this disorder and have it but not to the extent that my brother had it.
He went into assisted living (dementia) before covid and died 2 months after the lock down. One of the reasons for his death on the death certificate was ‘adult failure to thrive’. As my SIL visited him daily and I made weekly trips to his location, I can’t imagine what he thought when we no longer visited. He had great distain when his memory was better for the VA–he received no help or assistance of any kind.
How many vets where left to die because they refused the “jab”….?

In the beginning, non small cell lung carcinomas were only found in women who did not smoke. But they did tend the fires in home stoves. And do voluminous laundries of textiles in boiling pots of water over built wood fires using naptha soap, lye and blueing dyes. They also worked in textile factories and sewing rooms.
Then came filters (and all the myriad of chemicals were glommed onto smoking tobacco) on and in cigarettes and men also began developing non small cell lung carcinomas. So, when Agent Orange came into view (my husband had cigarettes provided to his meal rations in Vietnam) many who had never smoked lit up for the first time under duress and stress of war). Then there came the presumptive diagnosis that declared any carcinomas in the respiratory system would be automatically compensated for.
Imagine my absolute incredulity that a VA practitioner declared that Agent Orange carcinomas were different entirely than the non small cell carcinoma my husband incurred. One of his jobs in Vietnam was tending the camp wood burning stoves. He got his 100% compensation when he became unemployable after having half of one lung removed and suffering from scarring and cysts in the upper lungs and developing COPD. The government was responsible.

Those burn pits in the ME caused irreparable damage to many of our Service Members.
My son came down with lung cancer at 26 from the burn pit smoke. All trash went into it (including a rabid dog), diesel was poured over it, and a match was tossed in. He pulled 12-hour shifts in the watchtower breathing the smoke. During chemo, there was a 24-yr-old young man in chemo with lung cancer, same story.
He’s had 1 round of chemo, 2 of radiation (the second where the oncologist had him sign a waiver due to the excessive amount of radiation needed to stop the cancer) and still has lesions visible on x-rays, though it seems to be not growing.
He’s on wife #4, this one seems to be a good woman, they’re raising his son (by a druggie deadbeat, youthful mistake that he owns up to), he owns his house, has a good blue-collar job, has finally gotten his life together, still has problems with PTSD and leftover TBI from an IED.
I’m angry at the politicians whose sons never seem to be in the military. I have 6 relatives over 3 generations who served.

The Houthis stopped all attacks on shipping in the Red Sea exactly as they promised…..when a ceasefire went into effect for Gaza. They stopped completely.
Until Israel put into place a blockade of all humanitarian aid to Gaza on March 1.
The Houthis said that they would resume attacks on Red Sea shipping if the blockade wasn’t lifted. They had attacked NO SHIPS. They warned. They did nothing, though, giving Israel a chance to open up humanitarian aid.
Then President Trump decided to begin bombing Yemen. Many more air strikes. Then the Houthis said that all US ships would not be allowed in the Red Sea. And they attacked our aircraft carrier. But we caused this. We didn’t have to bomb them, but it is an escalation to a war with Iran.
That is the purpose. Israel wants war with Iran and I’m afraid they are feeding President Trump information to cause that to happen.
America First is not war with Iran. Billions of tax dollars and who knows maybe American lives at stake.

This is NOT about Israel. It is about global commerce and international waters. There are maritime laws that cover these waters and there is a coalition of countries that patrol them and keep them safe. The US is one of them along with the UK, France and Australia (to name the main ones).

It is possible in some people for their signature to change as dementia progresses. A hand writing investigator can identify the onset of dementia and alzheimer’s by the subtle changes in a person signature. Another reason for an autopen being used could have been to hide the progress of FJB’s mental decline.
An early actual signature compared to one a year later, two years later, three years later and then four years later could have been the tell all of FJB’s competency and when it reached the point of no return.
