British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is holding a Ukraine summit in London today with EU leaders, following two phone calls with President Trump.
According to the outline Starmer proposed on BBC News, following the disastrous Zelenskyy meeting in the White House, the British PM called President Trump and also Emmanuel Macron. According to his statements, Starmer told Trump he would work with Macron +2 unidentified countries (a “coalition of the willing”), to organize an EU security force for a Ukraine ceasefire; then the group will require Trump to provide a U.S. troop “backstop” as an insurance policy.
Starmer completely ignores the NATO provocations against Russia that preceded the military operation by Vladimir Putin, instead blaming only the aggression of Putin for the expansion of NATO in Europe. Interview Below:

Starmer is meeting with EU leaders today, presumably to initiate a discussion of an EU security force that would form the peacekeeping group to secure a ceasefire. However, Starmer consistently says the U.S. backstop is needed to protect the EU forces in the event the ceasefire doesn’t hold.

The Russians have been publicly crystal clear since Day 1 what their twin strategic goals have been: deNazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
Russian expeditionary forces moved into Ukraine three days after that cokehead Zelensky announced that Ukraine would look into obtaining nuclear weapons, no doubt at the behest of his globalist masters. I do not believe he would ever have said that unprompted. He is an actor managed offstage. Thus, there WILL be deNazification and demilitarization. No Russian government is going to tolerate a hostile state armed with nuclear weapons 5-minutes flight time from their primary civilizational centers (Moscow and St. Petersburg), especially when it is a fake democracy administered by Ukrainians but actually ruled remotely by deeply hostile groups in Europe and the US. (1)
However, I do not think that is the largest issue for Zelensky’s handlers, at this stage where complete military collapse is not only inevitable but possibly imminent. Yes, they have an ethnoreligious hatred of Russians, but they are more concerned with preserving title to financial investments than simply killing a few more Russians in a failed war effort.
The crux of all this diplomatic dance, and the suffering and death of Ukrainians fighting a hopeless rearguard action against vastly more numerous, equipped, trained, and experienced Russians is to buy time to convince the Russians to agree to respect, under whatever legal system Ukrainians end up being ruled by when the war ends, globalist titles to resources stolen from Russians (in eastern Ukraine) and Ukrainians (in western Ukraine) during the looting that began in 1991 and accelerated in 2014. Russians have suffered around 110k dead and been forced to kill perhaps more than a million of their Slavic brothers in a war that neither Ukrainians nor Russians wanted. While Pres. Putin is as steely-eyed realpolitik fellow as has ever been, Blackrock and fellow travelers and their minions inside European governments simply do not have any levers to make Russians compromise an iota on their essential demands, deNazification and demilitarization.
While the Russians in the spirit of realpolitik might bargain over property rights, they would only do so if it supported their primary strategic objective of making safe their people in their land. How is any deal with globalists worth the paper it is printed on? They have shown themselves to be utterly amoral monsters. Men attacking you with whom one cannot come to a diplomatic agreement with a reasonable assurance that they will then stop attacking you, are men that have to be put into the ground, simple as.
I think Pres. Trump knows this, hence all the orchestrated attention on the resources and getting some for America. It’s mostly if not all hot air, but it focuses public attention on the primary reason that the war, ALREADY LOST, has not ended yet in a diplomatic agreement: the disposition of the loot.

A few years ago we Swedes got to hear that our defence forces would not be able to protect our national borders for more than two weeks, if we did not get aid from NATO or someone else.
Yes, we have spent more of our GDP on building up our defence forces the last couple of years, but as everyone who has a modicum of intelligence understands this takes time. But today our PM (the Conservative party, but they have called themselves Moderates the last 55 years, so….) said after the meeting with Starmer:
“Yes, under certain circumstances, Sweden can offer Ukraine security guarantees….”. Who is he fooling? Of course Sweden cannot offer anyone any guarantees. But the “special circumstances” was a US backstop.
In the beginning of last century, we had a Swedish author of adventure stories, who wrote a book called the The Finances of the Grand Duke about the (imaginary) Grand Dukedom of Menorca. Its finances were in dire straits, and there was no money left to service the national debt. He wrote: “At the end of the seventeenth century, the Grand Duchy was as near to ruin as a state can be (and never should be), and in their distress we find the rulers resorting to the most diverse methods of easing a desperate situation – methods that undeniably offend us somewhat.” What were those methods? One of the Grand Duke’s predecessors sold a generation of the island’s youth as mercenaries to the Barbary pirates!
The old rulers of Menorca could at least blame their hopeless financial position. Our present leading politicians in Sweden have nothing to blame apart from their limited intelligence and great vanity.
As a non-Swede I would rather you use defense forces and police to deal with internal threats – unless the dire reports I’ve read about “immigrants” are untrue.
