British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is holding a Ukraine summit in London today with EU leaders, following two phone calls with President Trump.
According to the outline Starmer proposed on BBC News, following the disastrous Zelenskyy meeting in the White House, the British PM called President Trump and also Emmanuel Macron. According to his statements, Starmer told Trump he would work with Macron +2 unidentified countries (a “coalition of the willing”), to organize an EU security force for a Ukraine ceasefire; then the group will require Trump to provide a U.S. troop “backstop” as an insurance policy.
Starmer completely ignores the NATO provocations against Russia that preceded the military operation by Vladimir Putin, instead blaming only the aggression of Putin for the expansion of NATO in Europe. Interview Below:

Starmer is meeting with EU leaders today, presumably to initiate a discussion of an EU security force that would form the peacekeeping group to secure a ceasefire. However, Starmer consistently says the U.S. backstop is needed to protect the EU forces in the event the ceasefire doesn’t hold.

Here is my take on the Zelensky drama in the White House yesterday, consistent with 1) what Sundance has been telling us about the line that Trump has to walk, and 2) Susan Rice’s observation that the meeting was a set up with the way Vance triggered Zelensky.
Trump is trying to bring peace to Ukraine in a way that doesn’t highlight who his real adversary is – the cabal of Western neocons and intelligence agencies, led by US State-CIA, that expanded NATO to Russia’s doorstep and through subsequent machinations that included the color revolution and shelling of civilian areas in eastern Ukraine, deliberately provoked Russia in an attempt to weaken and destabilize it. Publicly acknowledging this reality would trigger a huge anti-American backlash on the world stage. In yesterday’s meeting, Trump was making Zelensky (not an admirable figure in any way, the corrupt puppet of the Western neocons) the bad guy instead.

Objectively, there is no reason the EU, Ukraine, and Russia may not have normal, friendly relations and normal trade. Except a group of leaders have profited personally from destroying peace among the group. Resentments, hostility and prejudice are an addiction, and the bums have learned to foment these sentiments.
Now it is for us to keep the spigots closed, that enabled years of confrontation in Europe. We must firmly resist any return to the status quo ante. No US troops to Ukraine should be forthcoming.
