The group is once again facing the indefatigable pragmaticism of President Trump. Ukraine peacekeeping security is a European issue that should be solved by European peacekeepers, not Americans.
Every member of the EU/NATO assembly, at varying degrees of self-embarrassment, admits publicly now that none of them want to participate in securing Ukraine without U.S. military troops leading the effort. It’s almost ridiculous how entrenched they appear to be on this issue. Does NATO/EU not have any confidence in their own military ability?
CEASEFIRE- In order for the larger conflict to be resolved, there first needs to be a ceasefire – a cessation of hostilities. President Trump and President Putin have discussed this exact point. President Trump has also engaged President Zelenskyy on this issue; however, Zelenskyy is far less willing to end the physical hostility.
The strange assumption that looms in the background, the visibility of something you can see on the face of Trump when he talks about it, is that Zelenskyy fears the ceasefire more than he fears losing thousands more Ukrainians in the bloodshed. This is a current dynamic that needs increased scrutiny, because right now not enough people are noticing. Zelenskyy really seems to fear a ceasefire.

In fact, Marco Rubio stunningly shared that public goal of President Trump in his initial remarks after meeting his counterpart, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

From my own researches I get the idea that WWI came about because 1) Europeans has been at peace (in Europe at least) too long and were a bit bored, 2) they had a bunch of mutual support treaties that justified them going to war, and 3) European addiction to land grabs. Austria-Hungry wanted it’s former satellite states back, France wanted the Alsas-Loraine region back and Germany wanted ‘breathing room’ in eastern Europe.
The short, easy war they all envisioned turned out to be anything but.

I think I may know. Every “drama” must have its antagonist. In order to manipulate the populace, they have to have a great “enemy” to be the scary boogie in the closet, the “fear factor.” That way, they control the people. Fear literally obliterates reason with constant production of norepinephrine in the body. The IC relies on that lack of reasoning ability to hide their actions.

Actually its more mutual respect than friendship and China needs to added to the relationship. ALL a peace keeping “trip wire force” is a few mobile troops in Jeeps and few wheeled armored vehicles painted Blue and White … supported by sensors and surveillance drones as well as some satellite coverage. There is no needs for a massive force to act as observers and trip wire. No US Troops are needed for this part … in fact, NATO members; Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark have provided rather efficient, capable and “even handed” observation and trip wire forces in the past, which even Russia had no problems approving in the past … and those nations even have full Company Teams and Battalions set aside for these types of UN Missions (plus no acclimation will be needed for the troops nor equipment).
The tricky part is the credible deterrent force in being … should Russia decide on some UNPROVOKED action … and making sure the Ukrainians understand if they violate the treaty they better brush up on their Russian.
This is the part that requires the EU members of NATO to step up to the plate, which means paying the price to REACTIVATE all the stuff they mothballed while the US Guarded them.

The defense of the Donbas and (escapes me ???) were central to Russia’s Special Military Operation.
Russia has not claimed that territory, but rather sought to defend their right to exist as Rus(sian) peoples.
The issue is not settled. Either they may choose to become part of Russia or autonomous regions.
The Donbas is a territory made up of the Donetsk Oblast and the Luhansk Oblast.
Those two Oblasts are Russian.
Russia will also have the Kherson, the Zaporizhzhia, the Kharkiv, and the Odesa Oblasts, maybe more before it’s over.

I have always suspected that it was the USA, the US State Department, and USAID that talked Ukraine and Europe into starting a war with Russia and now Trump is going to let them hang on that. This will destroy the brotherhood of the WEC with the American government and cause great resentment. Win, win, win.
What worries me is that our president is almost certainly being lied to and kept in the dark by the intel community. As an example he is pursuing a rare earth agreement with Ukraine, the problem is that all the rare earth in Ukraine is in the newly Russian annexed east. There is no chance of Russia giving any of it up. President Trump is also claiming that Russia is suffering huge casualties. The truth according to those counting the new graves from satellite photos shows that about 1.2 to 1.5 million Ukrainian military members have been killed to approximately 190,000 Russians. As of today the war has already been won by Russia. Nothing the west can do can change the obvious outcome. The US needs to simply walk away from Ukraine. The US also needs to investigate people like Victoria Nuland and her people who started the war in the first place.
Your concern is a valid one, but I don’t think Pres. Trump is actually relying on any of our intel agencies for anything at this point. I expect that he is listening to their info, but has his own people doing parallel analysis for the critical stuff.

Also, what’s the end game strategy for the Nazis? Fight to the death?
Ukraine had been in a civil war with the Nazis in the Donetsk region before Russia invaded. The region is generally pro-Russian. So, with Putin’s “empire” ambitions, Ukraine’s ongoing government corruption, and a contingent of wild-eyed, militant Nazis, it is a quagmire to resolve. It will certainly test Trump’s dealmaking, but he has momentum now and he’ll get it done.
The Malaysian Air Lines plane that crashed down in the sunflowers – perhaps I am wrong but I thought there was some speculation that the Ukrainians shot down that plane, thinking that Putin was on it – it was shot down perhaps in the same way that the TWA 800 flight was shot down.
