Marco Rubio is stone cold focused (perf). JD Vance is personable and pragmatic. Zelenskyy is deferring and at the very end the Ukrainian officials exhibit the attitude they are known for within Eastern Europe. All over Europe Ukranian govt officials are seen driving exotic cars, arriving in multi-million-dollar yachts, staying at the most expensive hotels, shopping at exclusive stores, buying jewelry and watches. They Ukraine military and govt officials are generally living a life of stunning opulence and overwhelming indulgence. When you travel there, people simply nod toward the visibility of it and say, “Ukraine.” It’s an open joke, and they are hated.
Generally speaking, the government officials from Ukraine are considered vile, vulgar, rude and cruel by the ‘simple people’ who see them. And trust me, it is impossible to miss their arrogance. I never had an opinion about them until I witnessed it myself. The vibe they give off is foul.

Not easy to do when you first start. I was in my 40’s when I started doing international travel 2x per month (Asia one time, Europe the other) and it take a toll on you. I can only speculate, but I’ve been in shit situations in the military where I witnessed corruption, was standing there but to leave gave them a pass, to stay risk my own valor. Perhaps, he’s been an honest man trapped in a den of vipers and Trump pulled him forward and empowered him to make things right? It’s an oddly optimistic take on my part but, I’m trying something new.
I’m hoping for the same with Gabbard and Bondi. Perhaps if Trump is unable to transform those that serve him, he can at least convince them that it’s in their best interest stay on the straight and narrow while he’s calling the shots.

To Mike’s point re long ago, also long ago western part of Ukraine was Poland – more accurately Poland and Lithuania, IIRC the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania. Catherine the Great worked with Austria & Prussia to partition Poland three times, reducing boundaries to just a few miles around Warsaw. 139 years later, when Ottomans were defeated in WW1, Poland got some land back…that is a helluva culture. Also when Prussia and Austro- Hungarian empires brought down.
And also under Catherine the Great, Russia acquired Crimea by defeating the Ottomans. So…Ukraine, what is it really? I just hope we get out of there forever. But having rights to resources surely means that we will always have a presence.
