Former USAID Administrator Samantha Power, the architect of the “Responsibility to Protect” doctrine (R2P) traveled to CBS HQ in New York for a late-night television appearance with Stephen Colbert. The purpose of Power’s appearance was to defend the institutional interests of her former agency, as USAID comes under scrutiny for ridiculous spending and manipulation of foreign and domestic politics.
Mrs. Power does her very best Sally Stuthers impersonation as she claims the only purpose of USAID is to facilitate charity and life-saving public health in “underserved nations” around the world. Colbert never asked her, if true – then why spend time in healthy Hungary and well-fed Europe? I digress.
Similarly, if the mission of USAID is as Mrs. Power described, then why was she never describing that ‘humanitarian relief’ type of activity in all of her self-promotion videos that she distributed during her travel. I am going to post a short example below the Colbert video so you can watch it, listen to what Power says in her own words about her objective, and then contrast that against the USAID mission as she proclaims on Late Night television.

In that short video, Samantha Power, the U.S. State Dept (USAID) and CIA, are essentially admitting to running a political influence operation in Hungary, seeding the groundwork for another color revolution. They were not trying to hide it at the time. However, with newly awakened Americans now looking at the revelations from within the USAID review, suddenly the mission changes to feeding starving children in Africa.
This USAID cover story to make the CIA control opaque was always the element people struggled to see.

I remember, years ago, reading an article that said, Samantha Power, of USAID, had been traveling overseas in one of those third-world countries. Her entourage had all been riding in a line of black SUVs.
It said the local villagers had been standing along the road to watch them pass through at a rapid speed. A child was hit by one of the SUVs, but the caravan didn’t bother to stop.

At one point Sam glances back and forth not looking at the host for so long that the camera cuts away from Sam to Steve.
Certainly rehearsed.
The audience response is prompted, too. The audience isn’t very enthusiastic in this clip, but prompted nonetheless.
If anyone’s ever been in a studio you know there is a sign which will read APPLAUSE that lights up and flashes to cue the audience.
My guess is that Sam’s appearance was partly for damage control, partly to garner sympathy, partly to brainwash the susceptible, and also to signal out a red alert to the comrades.

All that popped up was an appearance Sam made on Madcow’s show about 5 years ago.

I am doing my best on X to mention Samantha Powers and Victoria Nulands every time a Senator pops up and chimes in about US-A-I-D. Not aid. We need to make sure it is pronounced and annunciated correctly: A-I-D, spell it out US A I D, not aid. It’s important because that is one of the ways they try to mislead.

She lied about something so quickly proven wrong.
Another Senator, another woman, and a Democrat, of course, said Elon only went after USA-I-D because the OIG was investigating Musk and his Starlink system. Another lie…yes, there’s an investigation; it revolves around Starlink, but it has nothing to do with Elon. Rather, it revolves around, and you can’t make this crap up-, the contractual relationship between USAID and Ukraine and the possible misuse and appropriation of Starlink by both groups per the contract. Again, all one has to do is navigate the OIG website and know where to look.
