Secretary of State Marco Rubio was again asked about the USAID review pause and the likely impact to the matrix of NGO’s and financial dependents, including the families of DC politicians, if funding is not quickly restarted. WATCH:
WASHINGTON DC – […] Some of these anticipated layoffs have already begun. According to an email obtained by POLITICO, early last week development group Credence Management Solutions sent formal emails to contractors in its global health bureau laying off around 400 employees.
The CEO of DT Global, one of the world’s leading development contractors, reportedly told employees last week that 2,000 to 3,000 positions would likely be eliminated in the sector the first week of February. Both Credence Management Solutions and DT Global did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A director at a leading USAID contractor who spoke with POLITICO said that more than two-thirds of their company would be furloughed by the end of the week, describing the future of the sector as “bleak at best.”
“This is starting to look like an industry crash,” a different person in the aid sector said.
In addition to companies facing crisis, individuals who work in foreign aid in Washington say the job market is about to be oversaturated with thousands of newly unemployed people with no clear path forward. One person who spoke with POLITICO had been due to begin a job in the foreign aid space but had their offer rescinded because the job no longer exists. (read more)
Glenn Greenwald and Mike Benz discuss USAID in theoretical principle and real-world practice.
Greenwald asks, ‘why do these USAID officials seem so entitled’?
The answer to the tone of the officials goes back to the past 20-years of a mindset that has permeated U.S. government.
After the Patriot Act was created in October 2001, DHS was created to monitor American behavior; the TSA was then created to scan American travelers, and the FBI was enhanced with resources to conduct surveillance despite Fourth Amendment protections within our Constitution. All of this was done under the larger dynamic of preserving the “continuity of government.”
Instead of the U.S. Govt protecting U.S. citizens from foreign threats, the Patriot Act changed the mission of government to protect itself from potential citizen threats.
By the time the 2016 election arrived, We the People had already been defined by the Patriot Act as a threat to government.
If we the people did not select the right kind of candidate, approved by the continuity system, then our selection would be rejected by all of the operators of that administrative system. Following the outcome of the 2016 election, that’s what happened. The system activated to repel the threat President Trump represented. Worse yet, supporters of the threat were defined, isolated, marginalized, attacked, deplatformed and removed from every system they could control.
Every move by the U.S. federal government, from 2016 to now, has been contrast against the backdrop of a newer awakening and more visible understanding of how that Patriot Act inflection point changed our relationship with government.
We the People are the threat, and those who control the DC power centers that determine the continuity of government will not accept any modification or diminishment of their mission.
This sentiment of being more important is how the DC operatives justify their conduct in very real terms, including through application of law.
This outlook is also why the people who operate these systems are very visible with their conduct and do not have any reservations about showing their omnipotent mindset.
From their perspective, they are doing what they do, running government how they run government, maintaining the continuity the system was designed to protect. We The People are what they consider futile and irrelevant voices, and ironically when we speak against them, we are attacking “their democracy.”
This is the same mindset that weaponized liberty and freedom. Remember the examples from COVID? During COVID your demand for freedom was considered a threat. Your unwavering support of liberty made you “selfish” in the eyes of those who believe they control society.
If you did not wear a mask you were putting people at risk, the larger society and government in general was being challenged.
If you did not take the “vaccine”, you were putting the nation at danger.
In essence your liberty was defined as selfish, and our freedom was considered a “threat” to the order of government.
In a way you were threatening the “continuity of government” through your non-compliance.
That’s the mindset we are now up against.

Sorry, but the federal government was never intended to be a jobs program.
Never too late to figure out how to make an honest living.
I thought about that exact thing when I read,
“addition to companies facing crisis, individuals who work in foreign aid in Washington say the job market is about to be oversaturated with thousands of newly unemployed people with no clear path”
What exactly are the qualifications they will be putting on their resumes.
*Gaming the system
*Creating organizational flow charts so money can’t be traced
*Writing grants to make them sound “humanitarian”
*Screwing over taxpayers
and on and on their duplicity goes.
m
Well…up until now…..the job qualifications they had….basically corruption and screwing the American people…….were the perfect qualifications to work where they were…in the government! Because that’s what the government has been doing for a very long time…screwing the American people and totally involved in corruption.
So…..they can still find work……it won’t be protected work like it was when they worked for the enemy within…the government….they will be on the outside now….and looked at as the criminal they have always been….especially once they are employed by some criminal enterprise somewhere outside of the crime syndicate known as the government!
Alas, not with a “Gender Studies” or “Ethnic Studies”, or a “Women’s Studies” four year degree. But a lot of restaurants seem to be hiring.
Especially now as the economy is about to come roaring back.
More people working means more people eating out and more waitresses, waiters and bus boys needed.
amen
All they need!
A pair of work gloves.
Hat to keep the sun off ones head.
Levi’s for kneeling in the dirt.
Go to a farm to harvest fruits and veggies.
Jobs are plentiful.
De nada.
Government is a self-feeding parasite (via the barrel of a gun). Of course it was intended to be a jobs program.
If there are not investigations, indictments and convictions of what many believe is possibly massive fraud and money laundering, then this is all for not and will be rebooted in 4 years under another brand.
Americans are waking up and can see the fraud……….
Now it is time for Pam, Kash, Tulsi, Bessent, Ratcliffe and Rubio to act and bring forward into the sunlight these possible crimes and crooks.
USAID = RICO
Musk must expose the fraud and corruption – President Trump must make them pay the price.
Did not worry when things got catastrophic for the auto industry in Detroit. The gutting of the American steel industry. Farmers losing their land to double taxation of death tax. Only people this is going to be catastrophic for are a bunch of do nothing blood sucking leaches at best. Worst it will gut the F out of some serious traitors that needed to go.
These people have been poisoning their own well for financial gain and the hijacking of a nation and her wealth. Their income has been theft of the most egregious nature.
Not one of these MF really a gave a damn about the collateral damage they caused. I hate it for their children but it has to be done.
What about our children?
Well if your children are part of political famiy, TF’n Bad.
I think Intense meant, flip it, we are supposed to have a heart for their families after watching our own get squashed by Govt. and the haters. They never gave it a thought, but then do sociopaths have the ability to empathize?
What about all the J6ers’ children?
They can learn to code.
Funny thing is when you fly into DC at night, there are lights on as far as you can see. The lights are kept on by rapid, intense burning of our tax dollars. Of the top five wealthiest counties in the US, three of them surround DC. They do not produce anything.
DC is supposed to provide a service, the limitations of which are enshrined in our Constitution. However DC has grown far beyond the bounds in its founding document, like a lawn which is wildly overgrown. If you’ve ever mowed your lawn and found funding for trans comic books in Peru, you might live in DC.
“These people have been poisoning their own well for financial gain and the hijacking of a nation and her wealth.”
This is just a small drop in the amount of taxpayer money funding things that the taxpayers should never have funded in the 1st place.
The people who work for these programs are all sucking down taxpayer money to fund their own lifestyles and causes.
Oh! They did something alright. Paved the way for millions of undereducated, sick, ineligible aliens to enter our country to become a huge burden on the citizens who did not approve this invasion. The absolute ludicrousness is the NGOs made lots of money burdening and betraying their own country.
RAV reporting Trump offering a buyout to the entire CIA workforce. This would make perfect sense since USAID is the drive-thru window of the restaurant.
I think the CIA was created by Executive Order. Of anyone in the government, they are the ones that could just disappear in an instant.
As far as I can tell, there are no good CIA people. I was watching Judge Napolitano on youtube and the CIA guys were wonderful when discussing Ukraine. But when the topic went to Israel, they go full stark raving mad and accuse Israel of genocide and war crimes, etc. Psychos one and all.
National Security Act of 1947 created the C.I.A.
Passed in October, 1947.
Only four months after the Roswell N.M. incident.
🎶 Things That Make You Go Hmmmm 🎵
Nice try.
Missed something there Sally. “Wonderful when discussing (the cia war) in Ukraine” care to elaborate?
Sally is perhaps a USAid schill?
Has the fast rate of growth of the national debt clock slowed down at all, yet?
hmmm…
Easier said, than done.
( showing rising national debt that amounts to approximately $120,000 bill if each person equally contributed to zero out the debt for a moment. Yet, without balanced income and spending – the debt would continue to accumulate – creating another bill to pay…and another… )
Can doge help?
( the dems are o.k. with unaccounted for spending ? )
Maybe someone will ask them why?
hmmm…It’s been decades.
People know.
National debt clock:
https://www.usdebtclock.org/
this is glorious. about 1.6 million more to go
We may be looking at “suicide Sunday” coming up here shortly.
I certainly hope so.
Count me in.
Think 1929 and Black Friday……..
With so many thousands working in Washington DC, obviously very little foreign aid ever left Washington!
Those politicians protesting the most, obviously received the most foreign aid!
Hopefully thousands more USAID employees working in overseas US embassies, will becoming home unemployed!
Almost a $Billion to Ilhan Omar’s Somalia!
How is a here(U.S.) two minutes person voted into federal office over a long time citizen?
If he fires enough beltway bandits, NOVA will depopulate to where it no longer dominates Virginia elections and we will revert to red state.
Yes please
It will be again a lovely place.
I don’t feel a single bit of sympathy for these people.

I don’t like reporting secondhand info, so take this with a grain of salt. I repeat: take this story of rich liberal panic with a grain of salt.
A liberal friend of mine has a very liberal friend—let’s call him Marko. Everybody loves him. He’s rich, always relaxed, has a ton of friends, never gets stressed. One of those guys who somehow never works but lives like a prince.
I described him to Grok to get his image and it’s fairly close except Marko has a touch of artistic or European flair.
To continue… we all assumed Marko was independently wealthy. Turns out… he wasn’t.
Now, Marko is in full meltdown mode. I mean terrified, panicking like his life is over. This guy—who’s always been the picture of joy—is freaking out so badly his friends are worried he’ll have a heart attack.
Why?
Apparently, Marko’s cushy life was funded by government grants. For what? Was he managing a USAID diversity grant to fund LGBTQ+ artists in the Congo that @DOGE
just shut down? Who knows. Who cares. What I do know is that Marko does something with the government and nobody has ever seen Marko do anything that looks like work.
And here’s the kicker.
I live in a very liberal, very elite neighborhood. There are plenty of old-money trust fund types here. And yeah, they live stress-free lives, but most of them have at some point lost everything and had to claw their way back.
•Some lost fortunes in the Bernie Madoff collapse.
•Some were wiped out in 2008 and had to commute to Manhattan to claw themselves back doing something.
•Some burned through cash on failed startups before finally making it big.
That’s America—we churn through elites. Some rise, some fall, and when the old money collapses, it makes room for the new. This isn’t Europe.
So, Marko’s friends are trying to calm him down: “Don’t worry, Marko! We’ve all been there! You’ll rebuild! You’ll be okay”
But Marko isn’t listening. Because his fall isn’t gradual. It’s sudden.
See, old money collapses over time. Predictable. Manageable. But Marko? He had no skills. No confidence in his ability to earn.
Real elites plan for the fall—they stash away gold, art, Bitcoin, or something.
Marko? He was living paycheck to paycheck off the government grift. He never in a million years thought the money would stop flowing.
And maybe—I don’t know for sure—maybe his grift wasn’t legal. Maybe his benefactor in government is about to throw him under the bus for a plea deal.
I don’t know. I don’t care.
And please take this with a grain of salt. I’m drawing a lot of hypotheticals from a very short conversation that I was eager to disengage from because Marko’s troubles are not a concern of mine. And the very few times I’ve even seen Marko, I didn’t get a warm impression (maybe he sniffed out that I’m a Republican? IDK).
All I know is that Marko is in full-blown panic because for the first time in his life, he might have to get a real job and struggle to make a normal mortgage payment like the rest of us.
“Poor Marko,” they say.
My response? “I don’t care, Margaret.”
All that said… I do wonder how many other people like Marko are in full and absolute panic right now?
I don’t care, Margaret, is fast becoming a MAGA mantra.
As good as FJB!
This immediatelyreminded me of the good old days of SNL with “Jane, you ignorant $lut!”
I thought that same thought yesterday! When SNL had talent!
I’ve already taken it!
From GWTW, “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
Grifting is a skill..lol
I really don’t give a rat’s behind about the multitude of terminated government employees plus their like ilk populating Wash., D.C. and the surrounding areas. It’s just retribution for them gleefully carrying out the policies of the deep state that has used US taxpayer monies to purposefully destroyed the lives and livelihoods of tens of millions of US citizens because of their belief in and adherence to the Constitution, the rule of law and our Constitutional Republic.
I wonder if companies like Blackrock will begin to snap up residential properties in Virginia at a huge discount. There will be a bunch of people who suddenly won’t be able to afford their mortgages. Someone will pick up those properties for a song.
The politicians and their familes can fgo SUCK a fat one. We don’t give a damn about them and theirs.
I promise to care for them exactly as much as they cared for me which is a whole lot uglier than not at all.

Raskin yelling “We don’t have an unelected fourth branch of government called Elon Musk!”😂
97% of USAID political contributions go to democraps!
My biggest problem with the dims is that they are such duplicitous, deceitful, hypocritical, mendacious, treacherous thugs. Other than that, they are fine people. The best word that I know to describe what is happening to them right now is “Schadenfreude”.

Scott Adams
@ScottAdamsSays
Given what we have learned about USAID so far, anyone in Congress who supports keeping it intact is unambiguously corrupt.
We rarely have this type of clarity.
Democrats control USAID and benefit from its funding. Their base won’t mind watching their leaders marinate in that corruption.
But if a Republican joins Democrats in voting to keep USAID alive, it’s probably a one-way trip to jail or retirement.
Learn to code leftists! The thought of blue haired scolds, feminized cucks, rainbow jihadists, diversity hires, and entitled ivy league nepo-babies losing their cushy tax-payer funded sinecures at NGOs everywhere is by far the best thing to happen yet this year.
Communists love a breadline, and these assholes are going to get to practice what they preach.
A word of caution with the rejoicing. There are people downstream – very avid MAGA people. Who will be without jobs very soon. Yes, a lot of bad things have been done but a lot of innocent people are in the crosshairs.
Doesn’t matter. Even a MAGA can’t keep a job if it is built on this fraud. But good people can bounce back. A good foundation is everything.
War is hell. Even a war against the deep state. Innocents are bound to get hurt. It’s unavoidable.
My wife is an ESL teacher, we are fine with her losing her job. Maybe she will move back to the classroom maybe not., She also does not belong to the union. Sometimes you need to take one for the team, think grandkids and your adult children.
Your one upvote was mine. The rejoicing will end when DOGE runs out of federal employees, federal buildings, federal anything, to investigate and turns its attention to the private sector.
Whole lot of people here seem to have forgotten Maxine Waters proudly toting Obama’s database. That didn’t magically disappear.
Thank you Fionnagh. As I said, a lot of bad things were done in the name of the American people. Good things were also done in the name of the American people. The left would always rejoice and brag whenever their activities led to other people losing jobs or getting canceled or having their businesses destroyed. I am sorry but I am not participating. I know way too many people who are about to be destroyed.
I want to see accountability but unless the economy turns around real fast a lot of suffering is on the menu. I will not be rejoicing at the downstream effect. I answer to God and God alone. I do not participate in group think.
Jobs in the agriculture area are plentiful. Free healthy sunshine!! Best shape I was ever! Working the farm!
Swamp creatures used the USAID for ‘Money Laundering’.
USAID ‘Money Laundering’ allowed criminals to steal
TaxPayer money while hiding identity and information.
My son was laid off just before Christmas. He sat around meaning about it for zero days. By mid-January, he had a consulting gig for 2 mos paying $40 K plus housing. They offered him a perm job, which he declined because it is based in the DC metroplex.
They can always learn to code
A tertiary effect may be to loosen the leftist / Democrat hold on northern Virginia. (houses, condos & apartments don’t come cheap near DC). If the Shock & Awe campaign against federal “workers” is successful enough it may even break their hold on northern Virginia.
Compliance is NOT A VIRTUE.
What’s that age old saying, ‘Let them eat dirt’. HA HA HA HA HA
Good ridance to the lying, thieving, murdering bastards and their families
The leeches in DC and all their cronies worldwide are screaming as they are being removed from a weakened host. I am not un-caring to the plight of others around the world. I am very much opposed to the use of US taxpayer funds being used overseas when we are drowning in debt.
Every one of the Congress critters and Senate members are liable for this mess which exploded starting in 2008. Vote them all out as soon as you can.
One subject bills passed and oversight on expenditures. If you don’t pass an audit, the budget gets cut 50% and all top management is fired w/o government pensions.
“This is starting to look like an industry crash,” a different person in the aid sector said.”
This is considered an industry?
Bologna, it’s a whole bunch of people nursing on the public boob.
These people are spending the public’s money for things the Federal Government has no business doing, IMO.
Goodness! Rubio gave a crystal clear answer. Bravo for him! This is the best public performance he has had in a while. Rubio is Da Man..
He doesn’t answer to the donors anymore, now he answers to THE BOSS!
Use the empty buildings as Veterans homes.
My apologies for ever underestimating Rubio. He’s done an excellent job on his first trip. I look to see him strip State of its leftist operatives upon his return.
Many of the contracts issued were paid, but no services were rendered. For instance there were contracts for building hospitals, but none were built. Not only should we cut future funding, we should claw back funds/sue for fraud and organization that did not perform their contract.
These folks need to learn to code.
Winning feels so good!
Washington DC need a recession. A deep and long recession. Hopefully, this is just the beginning. The Sunlight will show an absolute disgusting amount of tax payer funded expenditures in complete opposition of the best interests of the United States, and in complete lockstep with the radical leftist communists. They have no problem spending other people’s money and get downright nasty when you stop allowing them to spend other people’s money. Time to go get a real job.
The greatest sitcom of all time is the British series Yes, Prime Minister. An earlier series ran named Yes, Minister. Then the main character was returned to a new show in which he becomes Prime Minister.
Watch the show. It should be required in every civics curriculum. It explains with great humor what really happens in government.
Please, watch the show. Binge watch the whole series. It is what we are experiencing now.
MAGA
I hope the second they enter USAID on their job application it’s is dropped in the basket with the used feminine products.
Unemployment should be the least of their worries. People who authorized these budget line items should go to jail.
I almost feel sorry for these people. They are NOT going to make it in the private sector. Doing the job of three government workers and having to get done in a month what would normally take them a year or more in government work is not going to be easy for them.
