The CEO of DT Global, one of the world’s leading development contractors, reportedly told employees last week that 2,000 to 3,000 positions would likely be eliminated in the sector the first week of February. Both Credence Management Solutions and DT Global did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A director at a leading USAID contractor who spoke with POLITICO said that more than two-thirds of their company would be furloughed by the end of the week, describing the future of the sector as “bleak at best.”
“This is starting to look like an industry crash,” a different person in the aid sector said.
In addition to companies facing crisis, individuals who work in foreign aid in Washington say the job market is about to be oversaturated with thousands of newly unemployed people with no clear path forward. The answer to the tone of the officials goes back to the past 20-years of a mindset that has permeated U.S. government.
After the Patriot Act was created in October 2001, DHS was created to monitor American behavior; the TSA was then created to scan American travelers, and the FBI was enhanced with resources to conduct surveillance despite Fourth Amendment protections within our Constitution. All of this was done under the larger dynamic of preserving the “continuity of government.”
Instead of the U.S. Govt protecting U.S. citizens from foreign threats, the Patriot Act changed the mission of government to protect itself from potential citizen threats.
By the time the 2016 election arrived, We the People had already been defined by the Patriot Act as a threat to government.
If we the people did not select the right kind of candidate, approved by the continuity system, then our selection would be rejected by all of the operators of that administrative system. Following the outcome of the 2016 election, that’s what happened. The system activated to repel the threat President Trump represented. Worse yet, supporters of the threat were defined, isolated, marginalized, attacked, deplatformed and removed from every system they could control.
Every move by the U.S. federal government, from 2016 to now, has been contrast against the backdrop of a newer awakening and more visible understanding of how that Patriot Act inflection point changed our relationship with government.
We the People are the threat, and those who control the DC power centers that determine the continuity of government will not accept any modification or diminishment of their mission.
This sentiment of being more important is how the DC operatives justify their conduct in very real terms, including through application of law.
This outlook is also why the people who operate these systems are very visible with their conduct and do not have any reservations about showing their omnipotent mindset.
From their perspective, they are doing what they do, running government how they run government, maintaining the continuity the system was designed to protect. We The People are what they consider futile and irrelevant voices, and ironically when we speak against them, we are attacking “their democracy.”
This is the same mindset that weaponized liberty and freedom. Remember the examples from COVID? During COVID your demand for freedom was considered a threat. Your unwavering support of liberty made you “selfish” in the eyes of those who believe they control society.
If you did not wear a mask you were putting people at risk, the larger society and government in general was being challenged.
If you did not take the “vaccine”, you were putting the nation at danger.
In essence your liberty was defined as selfish, and our freedom was considered a “threat” to the order of government.
In a way you were threatening the “continuity of government” through your non-compliance.
That’s the mindset we are now up against.

I absolutely don’t feel sorry for them! In my experience (ex fed employee, ex fed contractor), people make a LOT of $$ in DC. In fact, they position themselves so the last 3 to 4 years before they retire, they move to a position in DC because it’s such a high paying job, and their retirement is based on the last 3 years salary before they retire.
They live high in that area and see themselves as untouchable. Even the nice ones.

But when someone puts their boot on your neck for years, and you finally get the upper-hand, it’s normal to take some pleasure in the pain being inflicting upon them. It’s totally natural. In the wake of the election of John F Kennedy, the US launched into a number of save the world projects focused on economic development and thwarting hegemony by the Communists and USSR world wide via economic as well as military assistance efforts.
In 1961, Congress passed a FUNDING BILL Mechanism for use as repository for CONGRESSIONALLY AUTHORIZED Funding to cover related projects proposed by the US Executive Branch. It was called the 1961 FOREIGN AID AND ASSISTANCE ACT, an Act to promote the foreign policy, security, and general welfare of the United States by assisting peoples of the world in their efforts toward economic and social development and internal and external security, and for other purposes.
Pursuant to its CONSTITUTIONAL Responsibility and Authority, the US Executive Branch, under President John F Kennedy, created the USAID Organization to IMPLEMENT PROJECTS AND SPEND the Foreign Aid and Assistance funds AUTHORIZED by Congress under the ACT.
Since 1961, the ACT has been “updated and amended” to unfortunately evolve into the piggy bank for abuse it is today. In parallel succeeding Presidential Administrations have either allowed USAID to evolve on it’s own with changes to the 1961 ACT or mandated changes directly…helping spend the money in the piggy bank.

Not just USAID, but those ghouls have relied on executive orders and judge’s opinions for a great many things. They were too stupid to codify any of them, even when they had overwhelming control of the federal government. They had over 50 years for certain, uhm, things.

We can start by building factories that build the precision equipment/machines themselves. Then branch out and make finished products from base materials. Being in close proximity to federal workers, I have been surprised at the level of “entitlement” they express. They had planned to retire from the federal government in 2 to 3 years, and President Trump can stuff his buyout; they are staying for “their” retirement!
Shocking the attitude of entitlement; like it’s “my” job and no one can run me off! In fact, one person flat out said that he’s only got 4 years and they can outlast him.
They also were shocked and hurt at pulling all the DEI junk; all those poor people who lost their jobs, they had homes and plans for their future, etc. Even when I pointed out that the federal government is bankrupt and it wasn’t personal, they didn’t get it.
There are a LOT of people who are clueless about what is really going on.
Why wouldn’t they stay for their pension? I think most workers private sector or public would try to keep their jobs and want to retire when they can afford it.
I don’t like feds, but why would anyone leave if they need a more years of employment?
If you have been working from home with a side job during your federal work hours paid with taxpayer money. I want examples made of each and every one lulu. Those people deserve no pension.

There’s a good side that the media won’t look at because their myopia doesn’t let them look outside the beltway. Particularly within agencies like DoD, the functional impact won’t be as great in the hinterlands where the work is as it will be in the metrocesspools and where the HQs are. Why?

The Uk Times reported last week that an LAF chief sent a classified document to Hezbollah. The LAF‘s Suhil Bahij Gharb, who oversees military intelligence for southern Lebanon, secured the confidential material from a military facility run by the U.S., France and the U.N. interim force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the newspaper reported.
On the day of President Donald Trump’s inauguration, the U.S. State Department posted a fact sheet about USA-LAF cooperation. “Since 2006, U.S. investments of more than $3 billion to the LAF enabled the Lebanese military to be a stabilizing force against regional threats,” noted the document.
A senior Trump administration official told Fox News Digital that “Nothing really has been honored by Hezbollah since 2006″ and “Lebanon has a chance because Israel destroyed Hezbollah’s leadership.” The official added there is a “historic opportunity” with President Aoun. In early January, the Lebanese Parliament elected the commander of the LAF, Joseph Aoun, as president of Lebanon.
