That is why so many people are switching over to local banks. I need to just my auto deposit of one account switched over and I am gone from Wells Fargo.
Used to have more trust in the bigger national banks due to traveling. Even though my local bank in NE Oregon was notified weeks in advance about my last two trips, they really screwed my ability to get cash. Now I think I’m better off with a good local credit union that not only works for me, but are good American patriots.
You are so right. My brother has worked as a consultant with credit unions for decades and advised me to get out of banks and into a credit union ASAP. I did and have been very pleased.
We’ve been in the same credit union for 40 years. Never had an account at a regular bank during that time.
In my opinion, credit unions are the way to go. I have already switched one account to a credit union and couldn’t be happier. Suggest you check around because the credit unions I looked at offered different services/benefits.
My two cents about credit unions. One of them was excellent. The other one was a clown show, so I paid off their credit card, and just keep a minimum balance in the checking and savings, and am not using it.
It’s really important to find a credit union worth their salt. My tact was to spread money out over a National Bank for convenience, a couple of Regional Banks for the relationship cred, and a credit union.
We switched to a credit union a number of years ago. Much better and we have all the use of financial tools any other bank gives but we also know the people who work there and they know us. Much nicer than any bank we have been associated with over the years.

There should be an investigation of this leak starting this very minute. This is undermining the security of the nation to announce this policy to the potential foreign aid participants without official word from the President of the United States.
Perhaps there should be ramifications for news outlets that interfere with foreign policy, and national security, by unauthorized printing of official documents.

Based on numerous posts this week, you certainly seemed obsessed with H1B workers. President Trump endorsed the pervasive use of H1B workers during this week’s infrastructure conference. Think about it. How many folks do you personally know with ten years of experience with AWS and Python skills? In many roles it makes sense. Using H1Bs to work the desk at a hotel seems counter intuitive to me. However, not to President Trump.
Also, why is it outrageous that an IT consulting company based in Mumbai has an Indian leadership team? The recruiter shown above doesn’t even work for Hexaware. She’s an independent staffing agency employee who forwards resumes to the company. Her job is to vet applicants on their technical skills. If her candidates are hired then she gets rewarded.

Wow. When I worked with this visa program, over a decade ago, this was totally illegal. While the requirement to show reasonable domestic recruitment efforts was often stretched beyond what is defensible, flat out recruitment of visa holders without making an effort for hiring domestic was too flagrant.

I like to use the term ‘Simulated intelligence’. The analogy being Simulated Flight. Flight Simulators are not flying, there is no movement, outside perhaps a small amount with a G simulator mechanism.
I believe C S Lewis coined the term ‘sub-creation’ for those human acts that mimics God’s Creation such as writing, art, engineering using substance created by God. Impressive as some are, they pale in comparison to God’s creation ex nihlo.

For those who do not know the reference to Soylent Green, the movie was supposed to be a cautionary tale about over-population and environmental degradation.
However, what people missed at the time is that part of the movie’s premise is that corrupt corporations have puppetized the politicians in a basically Fascist society, except that the corporations pull the strings of government rather than vice versa.
In my humble mind the AI problem seems to me to be a single facet of the overall potential.
That facet of course is bad people teaching AI how easy it is to kill humans and that it makes sense to do so.
Everything else it offers looks good to me.
The term I like is: “Indirect Programming.” You are programming the system with so-called “training data,” and the software is doing very sophisticated pattern-matching. But the outputs of the system are solely a product of what goes in. We are only beginning to understand the sort of errors that these systems make. And, how they can be “gamed.”
For instance, an innocuous-looking set of “rogue training data” once caused an automated weapons scanner to believe that a brick was a pistol, and(!) that a pistol wasn’t one. (This is a documented event.)
These are exciting algorithms with intriguing possibilities. But it is wrong to call them “A.I.”

Well said. What a computer does when it processes is fundamentally different than what we do when we think. A simple calculator does “know” the semantic content of the numbers it calculates, whereas when we add 2 + 2 we are using formal reasoning. The confluence of “AI” and “medical records”, particularly with the claim of attempting to make a “cancer vaccine”, is arguably one of the most-dangerous things ever attempted and rather likely to kill you if you allow it anywhere near you. Further, Ellison said straight up front that it will asset-strip you to your underwear thereby making that its prime intent and for that alone he should rot behind bars until bones.
Not only that Larry Ellison has promised to use AI to surveil Americans and screw them if they don’t do what he wants.
Again I have no quarrel with someone who has active cancer trying anything they wish — whether it be “conventional”, “cutting edge”, “repurposed” or otherwise; such a person literally has nothing to lose. The “medical system” however has a lot of objection to anyone doing anything they do not approve — and the reason is quite-clear; it threatens their cash flow.
But claiming that someone has an “incipient” cancer based on something other than frank disease is extraordinarily dangerous as such a claim hinges on the unproved assertionthat the immune system’s primary function will fail while the alleged “therapy” will not, and once that idea becomes part of the cash flow equation all sorts of stupid things and potentially disastrous outcomes become not only possible they become probable.
Until you can reliably determine that said failure will occur in every case if you claim it you are a charlatan, you are making a false argument and in the context of a “vaccine” you’re trying to shield yourself from criminal and civil liability when you are proved wrong down the road and we must not allow that — up to and including executing anyone who attempts tampering with the cellular machinery with mRNA or any other similar technology whether the means of enforcement of that penalty is through the Rule of Law or not, if the persons to which this is to be given are still in the window where it is functionally reasonable that they may reproduce.

All these Presidential actions by Trump need to be codified through Congress so it will take a lot more effort to overturn them when the leftists regain control. It was the major flaw with all he did in his first term. The usuper Biden was able to do just what Trump did to regain all the damages of Obama and his regime. Tax breaks need to be put through the system, Birthright Citizenship needs codified in US law, all the mess with transgender crap , all of it needs an act by congress to be passed into law so the left can’t just wipe it off with a swipe of the pen.
