Sometimes I have to ‘wrestle’ with Brave (on my Win 10 system)to make it work for me.
It seems to slow or block access to emails & political websites even with a VPN, unless I:
1) reboot my pc
2) run cCleaner
3) turn off the ‘prevent fingerprinting’ security button.
4) do all above.
I suggest also bringing Win7 Task Mgr, because it more easily shows what’s running in the background.
To this point, I question whether ‘Microsoft Text Application’ is just a benign process, or does it track activity/usage also.

Tried to block them, have run several scans, and cannot delete them – and No, it is not my internet service provider doing this, it is something now embedded into this site, whether its some type of ad that has been accepted in order to help defray costs or not, very annoying;
even have my computer guy scheduled to come in and run a diagnostic just incase it’s a hidden program embedded when visiting this site and see if he can remove it – but he’s booked up for 2 weeks! Very annoyed that news video on the right margin of the site. It is hosted by some outfit called Connetix and even did a search to see how to block that ad hosting site, and still can’t get rid of it.

If you’re on your phone, or you don’t have some kind of adblocker (Brave browser has it innately) then yeah, the ads suck, but I’m not sure SD has any control over that (probably not). Use an adblocker on your PC but as far as your smartphone goes I’m not sure there are options available.

I am wondering when the Board of Directors of the corporation known as the Episcopal Church of America is going to have a serious meeting on their revenue generation. Now that the NGO business of bringing in illegal immigrants is going to no longer a source of revenue, will the Church reexamine their relationship with parishioners that they have been neglecting?
I recommend first of all that all higher-ups in the Church be required to read Dale Carnegie’s “How To Win Friends and Influence People” and then complete quizzes on their understanding of it. It also hosts 3 schools and some really lovely gardens.
I don’t know the full history of how the Episcopal Church acquired that VERY primo spot, or whose money built the Cathedral.
Suspicious minds would wonder whether it was somehow yet another continued British tentacle on the US, but who knows.
What I do know is that about ten years ago, they did a lot of excavation and put in an underground parking lot, on the left front facing the main doors.

In point of fact, St. Patrick’s is much, much closer to the White House and Capitol Hill – but somehow the Episcopalians don’t draw the same “sectarian” angst as using a Catholic church.
FWIW, the fact that the Carter funeral was held in the Episcopalian National Cathedral was very odd, because he actually belonged to First Baptist of Washington DC, from which an Easter Service was broadcast when he was President – and it also holds a very large number of people.
Something off, about that choice of venue for the Carter funeral. It does smell faintly of blurring the lines between church and state — and that should have been anathema to any good Baptist.

I live near DC. The local-to-me historic church was once an Episcopal church. About 20 years ago, the pastor and his followers refused to let the acting female bishop (Dixon) inside the building. I think this current bishop (Budde) reached an agreement with the congregation. They bought the property, but are no longer affiliated with the Episcopal church.
It’s sad, really. The last prayer of Jesus with his disciples at the Last Supper (John 17) is all about unity. When you see how many divisions of Christianity there are, you wonder how we’re doing on that unity.

I was having a conversation with a fellow Treeper and we briefly discussed the university studies on handwashing…and it is an activity a lot of Americans need to become ‘reacquainted’ with. Intensely.
All y’all long term Treepers know how I advocate for washing ones hands. Often. Many citizens don’t…nor do they cover their cough or sneeze. While engaging in healthy living strategies, (enough sleep, drink water, proper diet etc…)..here is a quote on handwashing, out of the article and they also advocate the other strategies I have long endorsed:

To be clear: Biden wasn’t trying to control the flood of migrants with the CBP One (TM) App. He just wanted to pretend the Mexican border was (slightly) under control by letting people enter the United States without giving themselves up in encounters along it that journalists might see and report.
Also to be clear, almost none of these people qualify for asylum in the traditional sense – that is, that they fear imprisonment or worse in their home countries because of their ethnicity or religion. Genocide is rare on the ground these days, fortunately.

Thank you for the explanation on the small video in the sidebar; which I cannot remove or get it to stop. I have a problem with moving things while on the internet, flashing lights, that type of thing so, since knowing it is of the Treehouse will simply tape a piece of cardboard over it so that the flashes as it changes and moves pictures and words won’t instigate an underlying issue.
The other things I’ve been able to eliminate, but when clicking on that video to see if I could find a way to eliminate it my Malwarebytes bells and whistles all when into high gear so assumed it was malware. Not to worry – when I installed the Malwarebytes privacy guard to stop all pop-ups, it actually blocked my ability to access the email accounts and had to eliminate that program so figure, this may just be another one of those issues that Malwarebytes will eventually figure out.
Hope that there are lots of proceeds from the little sidebar movie. Almost that time to make another donation; appreciating again the explanation.

Don’t know if this will solve your specific issues, but since I started using uBlock Origin (very important you get THAT version of the extension) in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, so many similar problems I had on multiple sites have disappeared. I don’t see what you’re seeing on CTH. Also, I removed AdBlock Plus after switching. Certainly can’t hurt to try, as you can always disable or remove it.
