According to leaked media reports [CBS HERE] President Trump is going to unveil a private sector launch of $500 billion to create data processing centers for a national Artificial Intelligence (AI) network. The network will be known as “Stargate.”
SoftBank Chief Executive Officer Masayoshi Son, OpenAI head Sam Altman and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison are expected to be at the White House for the announcement.
The initial launch will consist of $100 billion for the first Stargate (AI processing center) in Texas. Other projects in other states will come online in the future.

OpenAI, Softbank and Oracle are planning a joint venture called Stargate, according to multiple people familiar with the deal.

You might try getting two or three hens. I have 13 and I average 10 eggs a day . I have to give them away to family or I’ll be swimming in eggs. Aside from the initial chick purchase and waters/feeder devices (cheap), I buy a 50lb bag of feed every 2 months. It’s $11. They consume all my kitchen scraps and make great compost. And they don’t make a sound except for the rooster, which isn’t needed.

I have over 25 years in HIT. The systems that would be used for AI rely for the most part on systems applications that utilize Oracle.
Cognizant (aka CTS) is a major player in this space. It is an Indian owned and ran company (headquarters in NJ). It also owns ths software applications that 70 percent of US health insurance companies use. This company is the number 1 or 2 in volume of H1-B’s in th U.S.

Since all those movies are beginning to show up in our reality, I think I might need to watch the Terminator movies for training tips on how to fight this nightmare.
Watch the tv show ‘Person of Interest’. It starts out with one AI being used by the government and ends with two AI’s fighting each other.
Best idea: Learn about digital privacy and implement those practices NOW. The dems have a 50/50 chance of winning the presidency next.
Now that I have vented my Luddite cynicism, I suppose the way to look at it is this:
They are going to build this whether we like it or not. So we might as well get them to build it here. We will then have at least some chance of controlling its use and fitting it into our system of individual liberty and God given rights. Standing outside the first Ford plant as it is being built yelling “horses forever” ain’t gonna work. 47 can incentivize them to keep in mind that their product is intended to serve people, not the other way around.

I could envision a Tower of Babel type event or maybe the final gig with Trumpets blaring. I would prefer the latter but it’s not my call 🙂 It seems we’re getting pretty big for our britches and one can check out the recipe book to see what that leads to. Right now I’m just thankful for God’s goodness. Still time for all to partake but I wouldn’t wait around.
Is this the beginning of the end for us in terms of being free from digital servitude? Is this the beginning of a national digital identification system being put in place? Well the infrastructure for digitization is being permanently put in place. May God help us all.

I sound like a Luddite, but in my opinion, “Computer Tech” hasn’t made mankind much happier or better off, for all it’s loud cheering and commercial promotion. From my perspective of decades, AI won’t be the cure-all, wonder-thing that it’s trumpeted to be. Heard it all before. I’ve said for years: “It doesn’t matter what “new game” Mankind invents – we’re still stuck with the same old players.” The Internet was supposed to improve EVERYTHING. We can see all and know all 24-7, but no one is really happier for it, we’re generally just hurried and sleepless. “Social Media” was supposed to be a brave new world, but it’s abused by great many to the point where they’re half-crazy with envy or bullying or attention deficit disorder. Guess I’m old, but I recall people generally being more happy in the 70s and early 80s before they knew everything and anything that was happening at that second around the globe.
I’m realistic and you can’t ever put the toothpaste back in the tube, but I don’t expect mankind to be any better with this new AI game than they were with the previous “new games”. I hope I’m wrong and I know we have to match or exceed the Chinese as a tech necessity, but I hope we’ve learned and grown a little with the previous “Big Tech”.
I see it as just another boondoggle, get-rich quick scheme.
