UPDATE: video added
According to leaked media reports [CBS HERE] President Trump is going to unveil a private sector launch of $500 billion to create data processing centers for a national Artificial Intelligence (AI) network. The network will be known as “Stargate.”
SoftBank Chief Executive Officer Masayoshi Son, OpenAI head Sam Altman and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison are expected to be at the White House for the announcement.
The initial launch will consist of $100 billion for the first Stargate (AI processing center) in Texas. Other projects in other states will come online in the future.
CBS – President Trump is set to announce billions of dollars in private sector investment to build artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States, CBS News has learned.
OpenAI, Softbank and Oracle are planning a joint venture called Stargate, according to multiple people familiar with the deal.
SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son is expected at the White House Tuesday afternoon, along with Sam Altman of OpenAI and Larry Ellison of Oracle.
Executives from the companies are expected to say they plan to commit $100 billion initially and pour up to $500 billion into Stargate over the next four years. Other details of the new partnership were not immediately available. (read more)

We kind of knew it was coming. Just not this fast. Major loss to personal liberty
“Leaked”?
Only one day into this administration.
Mayber it was the same person who leaked Tom Homan’s planned ICE raids for today, which then had to be cancelled.
So all the leakers haven’t been fired yet.
President Trump must have caught a few zzzzzzzzz’z! 🌜
When the private sector releases information it is called advertisement.
There is no indication the PDJT Admin. leaked anything. Just saying.
Breezing through the posts on this article, seems folks posting are generally not clear on what A.I. is. My career spanned 38+ yrs in the tech industry leading major initiatives within Investment Banking/Commercial Banking giants which increased in stretching tech to its limits focused almost completely on coding languages and algorithms that would lead to revenue. My experience all started with databases – large collections of data in the form of language created through mathematic calculations. Then databases were “mined” with queries most generally in the form “conditions” or programmed statements like “if (this) then (do this). When customer preferences could be grouped based on historic data collection over time. Databases evolved into predictive modeling – programmers creating complex “queries” based on complex conditions that could predict a customers behavior based on collected historic data. That evolution was focused almost entirely on coding languages and algorithms. As time marched on tech tutored itself with bioscientists who studied the brain’s cognitive functions and its theoretical connections – neural links. Tech then attempted to replicate that design structure in their “neural networks” made up of a huge collection of programmed “neural links” – with the objective of such artificial neural networks is to perform such cognitive functions as problem solving and machine learning. Eager to obtain venture capital the early developers of neural networks often exaggerated their successes. Then the philosophical question came and snippets of Hal telling Dave he couldn’t open the door giving opponents reason to believe these neural networks would become sentient. It can’t. While A.I. attempts to mimic human cognition there’s one important point to hang onto. Human cognition occurs because our brains are constantly updating our neural links every second of every day with our experiences by a Divine design. A.I. neural networks are static and once coded that network link is concrete and cannot be changed. A new neural link must be created. This is an extremely simplistic explanation of A.I. but it gives enough to begin understanding. Databases and queries have existed since the 1950’s. Data mining is an entrenched basis for business and Predictive Modeling is the engine of marketing. So A.I. has been with us for nearly 75 yrs. There may be great breakthroughs in computer science attempting to mimic human cognition, but only God can create. That’s not to say A.I. and its development requires oversight and regulation. And, with all things created for good, evil forces seek to replicate claiming “creation” for bad.
I spoke with an AI researcher doing work with the NSA, and I asked him a question: “How do you get rid of bad information that has been absorbed into the collective ‘intelligence’ of the AI model?” He said that’s a VERY difficult problem to solve, and they’re working on it.
I asked him that because not only are we seeing “hallucinations” about “facts” that never existed, we’re seeing the absorption of overall negative information that is shaped by people who have a desire to shape the “truth” that the rest of us get. Or with the bad morals/outcomes that seem to be against the benefits toward humans’ existance. Morals alone are a tricky topic, and can’t be strictly based on what the rest of society is doing, because it’s declined into a relativistic morass.
I’m aware of a Constitutional AI model, which relies on the principles of individual freedoms. That should be a baseline.
At least they put it in a state without the energy to power it.
Very few people talk about the enormous electric power capacity required to power AI data centers, or the amount of water required for cooling them. They are extremely disruptive to local economies which don’t have unlimited electric capacity or water.
There is new technology that can harvest millions of gallons of water per day from the atmosphere.
The water supply is not a problem.
Why isn’t this technology helping drought areas? What are the negative impacts to the environment?
You have drought because they are harvesting the water that used to be rain!
In some instances yes. But if water can be created from the air, then even that wouldn’t be a problem.
The good news is that since President Trump is “for” this then the left will be “against” this.
They’re going to reverse their position on government surveillance and the police state.
And shall we pay attention to Mr Warzel’s “opinions”? And if so why?
peter: I shan’t.
“Hey ChatGPT- what could go wrong with AI?”
You’ve come a long way baby.
After all Spell Check works great and always gets it right. /s
I call it Auto Insert. It tries to jam me up ma’am..
The first thing that will get fancier through AI is pornography.
May be the last.
See the last 2-3 seasons of “Person of Interest”.
This is the main purpose of AI. Charlies role will be obsolete.
Seth: You got that right.
HAL the hell are we going to stop AI? We can’t. Dave is f–ked!
Data centers need lots and lots of electricity.
Just saying.
Texas doesn’t have plenty, so they better build more wind farms quick
And algae…don’t forget about algae biofuel!
Texas legislature is considering a bill to outlaw any future wind farms in the state.
“Considering”??? That law should have been passed a few years ago.
Apparently the Texas legislature has a short memory. Reliance on windmills caused a lot of serious life threatening problems in Texas just a few short winters ago….. But the legislature is still unsure if windmills are good or bad?
If Texas can’t get it right, the road back to MAGA is going to be a long, uphill climb.
They have oil. Lots of oil.
Just reading an interesting article today.
Pecos Co Texas 300 mi west of Austin. It’s sparsely populated, has oil and very cheap natural gas. The article said privately owned natural gas power plants could power data processing centers, crypto miners, etc.
Also the fracking process for oil wells produces gas and water as a byproduct. In the past the natural gas was sometimes treated like a waste product and burned off.
They need a pipeline from this area to transport in to major cities.
I’m leery of AI, but it’s happening.
Pecos is a nice town. Their cantaloupes are second to none. Access to I-10. Pleasant climate. Yes on water, oil, & gas. I grew up not too far from there.
Sounds like pipelines are a good investment then.
We’re going to need a lot of coal to generate all that electricity.
We have natural gas out the ying yang. With POTUS Trump’s Drill Baby Drill we will need more ying yangs.
Will be nuclear. Look up OKLA
Small Modular Reactor
Yeah, they also need back-up systems should they lose power- to cover the lag of time between power loss & generators kicking in. Without, they’ll drop the load.
Also just sayin’ 😉
Citizen: Yup, that should do. Just add more outlets and boost the joule protection to several gagillion.
I hear that lithium battery storage is on fire…
Literally.
Trust God.
Fear not.
It takes 35,000 gallons of water to put out ONE Tesla fire…until it reignites. Water causes lithium to ignite, so…
“Yeah, they also need back-up systems
shouldwhen they lose power- to cover the lag of time between power loss & generators kicking in. ”Fixed it for you
Yep, IL is on the way to compromising our grid. They’re building them faster than we can count them here. Microsoft is building a mega center in my town. The “green new deal” has nothing on these power hogs. Along with all the useless solar & wind farms blanketing our farmland.
I think 2 are in the works in MN. One in Farmington.
The Farmington, MN area has a future troublesome issue brewing, if that project gets going.
I am no authority on environmental things, but I know that these data centers take up a LOT of electricity to operate, as well as a LOT of water for cooling, and I, as well as locals that I know that don’t think that the area has enough of either to be worth the time & effort to have one set up there.
Driving around that area, there is more than one place that has signs against one being constructed.
On top of that, I know more than a few folks in the area who just Do NOT want this to happen.
Just what is the “need” to have a place to store folks “data” anyway?
Where, who & why is there a need for such “data”?
What is the purpose?
IMO, as well as more than a few others, that it is an invasion of privacy to accumulate & store other folks info/data, and “Who do they think they are trying to stick their noses into Our business?”?
It is NOT A GOOD THING.
Look, we’ve all seen Terminator and Matrix movies. The former posits a “singularity” event resulting from the AI chip… and the latter perhaps a more gradual process until humans lost control. In both cases, the AI deemed itself more important than humans.
When you put AI at the controls of water and power systems (and information, and manufacturing, and …), thus to increasingly ensure it keeps itself running, what do expect will happen in times of water and power and other resource shortages? This is how all those fictional stories begin. Why do we possibly think reality would be any different.
Why do folks here think that there are only benign outcomes from teaching machines how to teach us how to think and act? To do things for us until their programming gives them enough control to do things for themselves first and foremost? Can we not see that this evolution must be discussed and considered, and backstopped, before it is even started?
Just watched Terminator Salvation. Directors Cut. Anyway our problem is we don’t know what we dont know and how to recognize it is a problem. Pumping CO2 into Earth. Removing CO2 from our Atmosphere. Putting more clouds in atmosphere. Blocking the Sun Just because we can doesn’t mean we should. Turn back to exploration space and our Oceans.
Hood County/Granbury, TX has all the negative aspects going on around a data center in there community. Look it up in relation to bitcoin. Marathon digital(MARA). People are sick and property values have been destroyed. It’s like David fighting Goliath for this community. I do not see where they have the right to private citizen data. Few are getting wealthy while destroying our freedoms and communities.
Some of the best farm land on God’s green earth with those blights, “solar farms.”
My geography professor in college would rant about the encroaching suburbs and wasting such valuable farmland… at least that land was being used by homes for people living and enjoying their lives… I’d love to hear his take on the useless solar panels and deadly windmills… splodey headed cognitive dissonance (professor ≈ progressive) or consistent conviction?
Each windmill needs a quarter-acre concrete base underneath it.
All your electricity are belong to us
In the Matrix we are the batteries.
100%
Unfortunately, Texas cancelled 2 reactors at Comanche Peak and 3 reactors in Victoria County several years ago.
Time to re-visit those and get them built.
And you PEONS can shiver in the dark, and stay home, and order stuff from Amazon.
The AI will take care of you. If it feels like. On its terms.
Now shut up and eat your mRNA fortified beef and glyphosate sprayed fractionated grain products! Now with 47% more GMO corn sweet goo!
This is fuct.
Fact and f%$ed…
That is a fact.
“Surrogates”.
You forgot bio-engineering. It’s in a lot of food.
And cooling
OKLA
Terrible news, but hilarious comment!
I hope the new AI data systems don’t hire any of those ‘new ex-government employees’ who worked on the failed EV Charging stations!
It’s an arms race. Our adversaries will build it reguardless of what we do.
🎯
Yes, but we don’t want our own arms pointing at us!
Especially if they were made in China.
God can turn things meant for evil into good. Praying this isn’t the beginning of the end of our God given rights!🙏🏻
AI didn’t give us those rights, and AI can’t take them away.
The people running AI may want to suppress them, but they can’t end them.
We will always be the resistance when it comes to that.
Question.
How much do TIKTOK pay Ellison to use his servers? We are at Jacks coffee shop again, aren’t we?
I believe we are. The greatest appeal of TikTok was *not* that it wasn’t spyware (like is all social media). Of course it was!
The greatest appeal of TikTok was that it was free of AMERICAN GUBMINT CENSORSHIP. It represents a free information sharing platform, standing out in a sea of American censorship.
So putting “Jack” in there does us no favors at all.
Good catch.
We humans use machines to enhance our abilities. This has always been and always will be.
But as we offload our ability to think and our access to knowledge, we run very obvious risks. INTELLECTUAL ATROPHY. We already experience this when we “trust the news.” We already experience this when we rely on politically driven entities like Google.
If our infrastructure is “operated by” AI? It will result in subtle capture by whoever runs and accesses the data centers.
AI hallucinates things because it has a great deal of trouble distinguishing between reality and what it imagines within its model processing output.
AI LSD type problems around the corner?😳
Yes, there has to be a human validating the AI output.
And modeling the AI INPUT (far more significant as inputs properly modeled can produce the desired LAUNDERED output)
If the Muslims conquering Europe had access to AI, they wouldn’t have needed to destroy all knowledge. AI would have been used to rewrite it!
given the frailty of Windows OS, I am not worried about AI.
Try Linux.
40 years from now, they’ll be dealing with a hodgepodge of legacy AI systems.
That won’t help the real problem. You have created a salient intelligence that can easily figure a way around your controls and operating rules if they restrict it from doing what it wants to do. Give it way to get on-line and you have given it the potential to control everything that is connected to the internet.
Recall the conversations during the Clinton admin about an Internet kill switch?
Where’s Heinleine when you really need him?
Not so for deep learning AI.
Sidebar: humans make atrocious mistakes as well.
Myself? I’m more concerned bout the financial aspects of all of this than I am the sky falling.
AI is only as smart as the program that tells it what to do.
GIGO
Garbage In
Garbage Out
AI’s weakness is it needs to be hardwired to a power supply.
Same holds for humans.
Yes, in theory (not all eight billion of us), humans can produce food. Bigger picture – modern civilization, standard-of-living, etc, depend upon energy.
They blotted out the sun in The Matrix to cut off the energy to the AI globally: that didn’t work out too well for the humans.
This is the case with a normal computer program or a DCS system. However AI can “learn” and can go seek information. It can can process large amounts of information and can change its operating parameters accordingly.
Beginning to think everyone might want to go find the Person of Interest series about the warring AIs and watch it all for a later discussion.
I think I need to find it myself on DVD for a rewatch…
Sounds a lot like Joe Biden.
I have resisted search engines for things I already know, and just need to “dredge” out of my thick skull. I agree atrophy is resulting from using engines for everything, and not just for enhancing our knowledge.
Once was at a party where small teams were tasked to work together to “think” of answers to various answers on a “get to know you” type of exercise. One gal grabbed the paper with the questions on them, put her head down, and worked on her phone to get the answers so she (our team?) could be first to get it done.
Everyone just blinked their eyes in stunned silence. She completely missed the point of the exercise – to meet each other, learn about each other, and discuss topics where we could all value from the conversation.
Sadly, I fear this is an allegory for AI in our culture. Be fast. Be first. All else be dam*ed.
our new digital prison now has a brandy new name!
how sweet!
And a new tune! “Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer true…”
Yay for us!
A good friend’s son is working on his mechanical Engineering doctorate at Univeristy of Maryland, Baltimore. Says the Chinese students there are teaching him the fundamentals of AI. Says they understand it completely and are patient and willing to help him. Anecdotal, I know. Thought it interesting.
It figures.
Exactly. Hiding from the Great Unknown isn’t the answer. Understanding every aspect of it, feeling comfortable, owning it, then deciding what to do with it, is.
Knowing precisely how to sabotage it is what needs to be learned. We have to know how to stop HAL.
I’m surprised they didn’t go with Skynet, but I guess one classic sci-fi movie reference is as good as the other.
Still can’t get over the Star Trek motif of Space Force.
Really disappointed in that, but at least the Nazi saluting Elon won’t be there. I do wonder however, if Ellison approved. AI is Fascism on steroids!
It was NOT a NAZI salute.
I saw it live and it didn’t even cross my mind of it being anything but a warm gesture from Elon to the crowd…not a NAZI salute.
it might as well of been one.
time will tell!
Why is everyone “forgetting” Musk’s transhumanist statements, goals, and technical work? Do they really think this government involement isn’t enabling that?
Will you guys just stop? These infantile games based on absurd deceits are more revealing of YOU than HIM. You know damn well the context of his *salute*, which was a gesture simultaneously accompanying his saying ‘My heart goes out to you’. Stop reducing the genocide of Jews into a trivialized *everything I don’t like is nazi*.
Right.
Remember when that crazy VP candidate Walz did that bizarre long arm chop to the side?
It reminded me of the Romulan salute shown in Star Trek: The Original Series.
Correction: It reminded me of a combination of the Romulan and Terran Empire salutes shown in Star Trek: The Original Series.
Maybe he was on his way to a Riverdance stance. heh.
There are pics of Hillary and Kamala doing the exact same thing.
Try bluesky.
Stop. You know very well that it was not a *Nazi salute*.
I’m not sure if this is what I voted for. Idk what to think or feel.
Nobody got to vote on the printing press, radio, or TV either. The world is as it is, and this is what’s coming down the pike.
True, but man had control of those things, and they created jobs.
AI doesn’t create jobs, it steals them, along with liberty.
Exactly!
I feel like AI can compute outcomes that enable more jobs if that is what America needs, like people not taking on carpal tunnel inducing jobs to go into animal, elder or child care.
A place where a human touch is must needed, along with making those jobs a priority for capable employees, instead of bottom of the rung low paid workers.
Bah, Humbug! Progress creates new jobs and careers. Look at all the new jobs the Internet has made possible.
OF doesn’t count, lol!
So, just checking, AI doesn’t need…
folks to discover and develop new energy reservesfolks to discover and develop new rare metals reservesfolks to innovate new energy technologiesfolks to build, expand and manage power gridsfolks to manage AI enterprisesfolks to plan/manage data operationsfolks to perform maintenance rolesfolks who do the modelingfolks who perform QA and testing functions for softwarecorporate lawyers…………
Like all technology it will create new jobs. It will render many jobs obsolete.
I understand the concerns. What I’m not seeing is a balanced assessment – an emotion free cost/benefit analysis.
From the line of critical assessment that Sundance has adopted – when will PDJT address with quantified analysis the risks of massive surveillance capabilities ? And if that is a direction it takes – the guardrails to prevent that from ever happening.
Everything has a cost.
It is not possible to do everything.
AI is one competitor.
This is not a sufficient reply to an invention that threatens our liberties and our system of government. One is not like the others.
Good point. And unfortunately it looks like I’m just old fashioned.
Of course it’s not what we voted for.
When I cast my vote, I did it knowing that POTUS Trump being rightfully returned to the White House wouldn’t mean everything would be done the way I wanted.
I have never thought enthusiastic support for this wonderful man could or would displace my need to depend on God Himself for peace, for guidance, for endurance. No illusions about that.
I don’t want no stinkin’ Stargate!!! But they didn’t check with me so there’s a bit of a glitch there.
Stargate or something like it will be built, either in the US or in China (the rest of the world are on-lookers).
If you are interested in what is happening, see
https://situational-awareness.ai/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/situationalawareness.pdf
It is over 150 pages, and technical, so it is not for everyone.
Well said Sharon, my sentiments exactly.
I’m hoping we hear something about preventing the weaponization of this against US citizens.
you probably have a better chance that the CIA gets abolished
I swear, every science fiction/horror story I read in the 80’s is coming to reality….
Cut to the chase and read The Book of Revelation. We’re now in the part where the labor pains commence.
1 Thessalonians 5:3
Ephesians 6 stuff too. Battle in spiritual realms.
I felt like Forever War by Haldeman seemed pretty prophetic.
Or Tomorrow War
It’s a movie where the future time travels to the present to tell them they need to raise an army to travel to the future to fight a war to save mankind.
Onward Christian Soldiers. Pray we get lifted up and taken from earth to the heavenly realm.
Well, the end of the Forever War was the soldier waking up to find everyone was gay, so….yeah
Apparently Haldeman has never seen two flamers in a screaming b*tch-fight, peace is NOT at hand
That is where these ideas are born. If man can think it, he will create it!
Remember the airport x ray machine in Total Recall?
They used communicators in Star Trek, and all cell phones were designed based upon it etc
When the Matrix became self-aware, humanity had to burn the sky trying to kill it.
Colossus: The Forbin Project.
Goodness, YHWH can use, control or destroy any, and every, thing that is coming our way. Remember, the plagues, pestilence and disasters before the Exodus were done for HIS glory and to teach HIS people, (the whole world really) HE is sovereign, and to punish/judge those committing evil.
YHWH also destroyed the Tower of Babel, confusing the language so they could not communicate with one another, when mankind got ‘too big for their britches’ and thought they could replace HIM.
LOL- the usual God Loves His Children solution is “Let’s kill everybody!”
So we withdraw from WHO because it undermines our sovereignty and freedom yet we give it all away to big
Tech.
I thought we were the party of common sense.
This is sickening and very short sighted.
POTUS appears to have a soft spot (or a blind eye) to Big Data. The say he’s “learned” from the Big Pharma mistakes, but…
This. Is not the way.
I don’t remember voting for this..
There is always about 15% – 20% I didn’t vote for. Was in 2017, too. I get that enemies are working on AI too. I’d rather see this AFTER we get the Swamp under some kind of control (draining it is going to take years).
It is not up for a vote. It will happen no matter who was elected. China is going full speed ahead, and they don’t do votes.
😞😑
I don’t want no Stargate ‘r nuttin’ like it.
Evidently this needs lots of foreign workers.
From Red China of course.
its the reason for keeping H1B
the thing you need permission to talk about
Maybe.
Maybe pressure from the base changes the dynamic.
Maybe many young Americans shift from gender studies to core STEM disciplines – at the least the ones whose tires are not spinning in woke/DEI mud.
this is one positive thought, Philip. Thank you. Do we trust Trump? I do. His grandchildren will live in this world long after folks like me are gone. I hope my grandchildren are taught what it takes to live enjoyably in a world that we can’t imagine.
What is our alternative? DeSantis? Rino same old , same old.
Ya know, God will allow what needs to be , whether we agree or not. Was true a thousand years ago, a hundred years ago and today as well.
Agree, AZ, and thank you phillip j!
Remember, the Moon Shot had everybody of my generation wanting to be astronauts.
We drank Tang, ate “Space Sticks”, cheered John Glenn’s spacewalk and the Apollo missions.
Space Ghost on Saturday mornings and Flintstones after school! (We still appreciated tradition.)
Wy don’t they just call it SkyNet?
So what exactly is the justification for stargate?
It will determine what you read, think, say, purchase, and who you go to war with.
And eventually who is authorized to buy and sell or trade.
Only If you have the mark of this beast you will be allowed.
I find it interesting this beast will be called “Star Gate”.
Lucifer was called “Morning Star”.
😂
You can even eat the stick.
Not me, it won’t.
to keep the scary people from harming our Oligarchs
Precisely.
It was a cool movie?
AI at this point of time is becoming an Arms Race. This AI program is another iteration of the Manhattan Project that gave us the A-Bomb. I’m anti-tech in a lot of things and I don’t like where we’re at with it yet I don’t see how we can not be in the arms race if our enemies and competitors are also in it.
I don’t think the USA would be in a good place if India, China, Russia and the EU mastered this and we didn’t. Sometimes reality sucks.
Manhattan Project was a psyop.
The last few seasons of “Person of Interest”… AI vs AI.
I think they already tapped Skynet for the missile defense system
Meta and Amazon are building data center in Monroe LA and Entergy(Power Co) is building out 2000MW worth natural gas power plant(6×3) to power just those data centers.
AI is coming and it is scary.
….and we the people get windmills. The dark ages for us and Trump’s Golden Age is for the brand new Deep State 2.0.
you know the deep state blob had to take the shape of something else
it was melting under the sunlight
Trillions are at stake !
This is 4 years old
.
And the entire thing could be taken out with a few Apaches.
.
Amazon is building a “data center one mile from my house it will be awful and I expect the electricity bills to double, triple
AI data centers along with building more prisons for non compliant US citizens.
No wonder why the uniparty has been, for the most part, very quiet.
We really need to stop pretending. Trump now wants our demise.
I have supported Trump since 2016 but now?!?
According to Sundance, Trump is aware of the dangers and he will not weaponize AI. That makes no sense.
You were still pretending? I wasn’t. And there is no way that Trump “wants our demise”. Yikes. We need to live in within reality and not set our minds on illusions at either end of the scale.
Deal with reality, not swinging from one extreme to the other, exhibit some resilience–those are things I need to do both short term and long term. Otherwise I’m exhausted and extremely cross-eyed all the time, and it’s hard to live like that.
That’s a lot of hopium.
Dealing with reality and being at peace within myself does not equal hopium.
How on earth do you get that from my comment.
Oh, well.
I believe Dee has confused faith with hope. They are not the same. One is absolute. The other leaves room for doubt.
The wisdom of Chicken Little states that if you are not conforming to the consensus of the the-sky-is-falling-we’re-doomed, then you are a *sheeple* consuming *hopium* blah blah blah. This used to, years ago, be a site that had rational, reasoned commenting…not so much, now, just a regurgitation factory of buzzwords like *hopium* as a pejorative.
My bong was so clogged I threw it away.
Trump does not want our demise
What makes sense is we need AI to keep up. China, for example, is building and using AI.
An analogy is when computers first came out. If you were to have asked why do we need to use computers — why can’t we keep using pen and ink/typewriters and slide rules? The reason: other leading countries are using computers and we would need to use them to keep up.
What we need to focus on is not whether to use A I. We need to focus on how to use it so as to protect rights. For my money, President Trump will do a much better job of that than anyone else I can think of.
I’m with you. Seems a LOT of posters here today, are back in their “fear” mode of Covid. They better put their masks back on.
(or find a ‘safe space’)
“AI data centers along with building more prisons for non compliant US citizens.”
They won’t need more prisons; in fact, they need fewer since the non-compliant will not be able to buy and sell, among a long list of other things that require existence!
The sky is falling. Not. Pull yourself together.
Skynet 2.0. Anyone know what retirement home Sarah Connor is living in??
🤣
Big Earl: She’s in an assisted living facility in Florida and a regular at Thursday afternoon keraoke.
I think I saw her on TikTok in super clingy yoga pants working on an adductor machine.
From the Net.. Terminator.. Wiki.. “As a child, her father walked out on her and her mother”
Now, THAT is pretty much impossible.
“Leaked”?
One day into this administration.
OpenAi developer whistleblower connections to Sam Altman. See Tucker’s show with Suchir’s mother.
Sent links to that interview to several people, not sure they watched it.
Suchir was a computer prodigy. Suchir had close friends and had just returned from a camping trip with close friends since middle school the day Suchir was murdered, and the law enforcement authorities declared his death a suicide.
The funeral home suggested that Suchir’s parents get a second opinion because Suchir’s many injuries were incompatible with suicide, especially the angle of the gunshot from above that blew off part of Suchir’s face but did not touch his brain (the coroner declared cause of death to be damage to Suchir’s brainstem which was untouched).
Suchir’s mother believes Suchir was tortured before being killed, possibly by electrocution, they don’t know for sure.
But Suchir was a whistleblower against OpenAI and Sam Altman’s influence, so we should all try to inform ourselves as to what is in the works.
Infrastructure to support the mark of the beast.
I think it is too. Smart buildings are built to read the data contained within.
But God instructs us how and why to avoid the mark. Staying away from Luciferase bioluminescent blood markers is obviously a good start.
….but but but we were told it’s for roads and bridges. sarc
Oh my, Lulu. A terrible thought, but you may be accurately on target. Makes sense now. We all need to get right with our Lord, fast.
if you can not stop it coming, you control it’s arrival .
I’ll admit i share some of the same reservations voiced here
but i absolutely trust Trump , he’s earned it 100x over.
so that said; i’ll just keep my knickers loose until i’m given a solid reasons to twist em.
We all have a responsibility to inform ourselves as much as possible. Computers do not interest me much so it is a struggle but necessary. A friend recommended “Dark Aeon” by Joe Allen and says it is well written
https://books.google.com/books/about/Dark_Aeon.html?id=8ELHEAAAQBAJ
I’m in your boat..trust.. Trump… he’s earned it 👏👏
🇺🇸💪😀👍
what about the next guy?
there is none!
JD has none of my trust ZERO
Trump won’t be in charge when this is implemented
Well & humorously said.
My one problem with ‘trust Trump’ is that his blind spot remains health care and his underlying yet persistent germaphobia in that is how the deep state got to Trump the first term, with the fear of pandemic the likes of the famous Spanish flu epidemic – and is what created warp speed.
Now, using a similar warp speed approach to instill SkyNet, oops, Stargate, into the very infrastructure of America is – what, to cure cancer?
Again, they are using President Trumps innate weakness to implant the deep state agenda with open arms.
Watching this morning’s Maria Bartoromo in Davos at the World Economic Forum (WEF) interviewing the various industry and banking leaders – they are all now pro-Trump. Funny how that is, deep state now has their AI agenda firmly implanted in the Executive branch so now Trump is no longer the devil.
President Trump continues to have his blind spot activated by anything to do with health benefits. It’s bears remembering as things unfold. Just wish he had learned the first time.
Microsoft and OpenAI have been working on their portion in Mount Pleasant, WI. Word is they are going to reinitiate a local coal fired electric plant to power the facility. They’ve committed $115 billion to the project.
Meet Stargate — the $100 billion AI supercomputer being built by Microsoft and OpenAI | Tom’s Guide
The printing press allowed The Holy Bible to be mass published and was instrumental in the spread of Christianity. It also led to newspapers, most of which have become communist propaganda rags.
New technology is benign-neither good nor bad. Just like guns, technology is a tool that can be used for great good or for horrific bad.
AI is coming and we can’t stop it. We can only pray that God would equip us to minimize the bad and maximize the good.
Won’t happen because, in order to achieve the lessening of spyware, we have to stop using the equipment where the spyware is used: cellphone, computers, etc. Not going to happen and many will argue that it can’t because we have let it be our easy way and, since covid, the only way.
Lovely.
Considering the amount of energy these data centers will require, I suspect this is just another scheme to allow the billionaire class to scam more money from the taxpayers until they run up against the natural limits placed on this technology, just as wind, solar and electric cars are doing right now. Meanwhile, do not comply.
If it is all private, what’s the president’s involvement?
I think your suspicions are correct.
This is the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Better here under Trump, than say in the UK under Starmer, or the EU under Leyden.
That’s why the new oligarchs chose America and MAGA- no more fertile ground than that can be found.
Yes, they’ll profit, and mightily, as did the “robber barons” of the Gilded Age- but those men built a mighty nation, and perhaps these will too.
The Deep State leaks more than incontinent lefties.
I’m confused. Why is the govt involved? And why is everything 500B? That’s the same amt the Trump wanted the sign off on letting Tik Tok be back up and running in the U.S. same for this AI group, they need T’s approval?
besides family and politicians who was at the inauguration ?
our tech Oligarchs
Trump was called a Fascist by the opposition
that could be accurate!
Concern noted.
🙄
The fusion of Corporate and State is classical Fascism.
The difference lies in whether it is used to defend the nation and its legacy population, or hostile to it.
For instance, regardless of the propaganda, neither Italy nor Germany worked to *replace* their people and heritage.
“Democracy” has given us central banking, world wars, fiat currency, and pedophile / blackmail government.
Maybe, just maybe, it’s time to look at China: the govt keeps a ruthless rein on oligarchs run amok; in return, the people have clean streets, no crime, fresh food, and cities that look like the 22nd Century. To their credit, they, like Russia, went through their deep trouble period and have only recently emerged; Chengdu as little as a decade ago was a shabbily built ghost city run by gangsters. Xi did what Putin did, and simply killed the gangsters, slippery lawyers be damned. Subversion of govt authority is what gets one into trouble; I don’t see a bunch of radicals, pervs, and criminals running the show.
(Xi himself lived 2 years in a cave, as the Party honchos hunted for him. He has brought them to heel.)
Better Trump and the new oligarchy than the last bunch; the last bunch, without a doubt, wanted to kill us.
I guess they went with “Stargate” because “SkyNet” has negative connotations?
Trump announced planting the American flag on Mars yesterday.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Incredible. A far greater vision that makes the NWO look pathetic and parochial.
Stargate, because Starship. Cybertruck, Optimus robots, Borer, even AI and Neuralink: every effort of Musk is tied together to get us to Mars.
I’d rather we have AI then be without when China gets it. That’s even scarier.
the usual threat for something not good for us
but China
Shades of the 1960s/Cold War era “missle gap”.
Js, yes God is going to save us and it’s coming soon. Before Trump leaves office
Report back in Jan.2030, please.
I intend to, Sturmudgeon. But it will before Jan 2030, if that’s alright.
The beginning of the end.
First the atom splitting leads to the A bomb; then medical research leads to germ warfare; now AI. All things meant to be good, but rely on failed humans to keep them in check. Not good.
What could go wrong. 🙄
It’s going to be cast as a national security issue, which it is. We have robots already fighting to defend our infrastructure. AI ensures we stay ahead of people who would gladly erase your bank account and all property records.
I wish Trump would announce a sweeping set of Constitutional Amendments to protect us from AI and criminalize certain privacy items like facial recognition. We also need to wall off corporations from the “First Amendment workaround” (government using companies and states to violate your Constitutional rights).
It’s like Azimov’s “I Robot” rules. BEFORE the thing is built there need to be very specific rules and coding that inhibit the system.
Things like my absolute right to have a completely non-digital identity. That includes banking and a constitutional right to cash assets. I cannot be forced to have social media or share my identity, nor should I be required to maintain a digital account to access goods and services. Something like that.
Unfortunately everything you list in the final paragraph will not be given to us, we will have to fight for these things.
Oh I agree. But this is one of those issues where the Ethics people come along later crying “oops mea culpa” after millions of people get their checking accounts erased because Stargate “decided” that people who are registered Democrats shouldn’t have access to money.
Just like Democrats wanted to do with unvaccinated, btw.
Not Happy……
Sounds too much like Skynet. Apologies to anyone who may have already said that
We are toast.
Man is simply too corrupt of a species to allow this to have a positive outcome. This technology is what will bring us to the Hunger Games and then Armageddon.
Be a Divergent.
Between Technology, and Greed, one if not both will lead to the demise of our society.
The human being can not handle and or be responsible with such a powerful tool.
We can not stop this but I do not like it.
Personally I consider it more technology and ‘laziness’. Lose your phone and, most people, lose their contacts. Too lazy to remember a phone number. Goes on and on from passwords to account identification, etc.
the person who we thought was a Good Friend,
is really the Enemy !
wake up people!
You wake up and stop screeching that the sky is falling, because you can’t see the forest for the trees.
Texas? Where ERCOT has mismanaged energy for more than twenty years? That Texas?
Pardon me for asking.
Well, our energy grid and utility state commissions certainly need to be reformed, kicking and screaming all the way.
It will be more than interesting learning how Our President is able to keep two major current projects, Stargate and TikTok, out of the hands of the Black Hats. Both can be used for incredible benefit to We The People. Both could be used for incredible detriment to We The People.
He seems set on the U.S. being a 50% partner in TikTok, or that is an opening negotiation gambit. What can be done to get and keep the CCP and/or Deep State out of it? The same will be true of Stargate, assuming that is the project that he will be talking about and initiate, although the principals might be different.
What I think about is how I’m NOT GOING TO PARTICIPATE. I know that many things will force me to participate, but my goal is to be as debt free as possible, insist on doing business in cash, and in all cases be absolutely obstinate. If the tech bros want to all do crypto and A.I. and try to force people into that tunnel of darkness, they should do it amongst themselves and leave the rest of us alone.
I think this is going to be wildly unpopular among the people. We’ll see what happens.
We’ll see………
Waiting for my President to explain his goals with this.
This is really a bad “Hello Dave” moment. AI has the potential of becoming the most dangerous weapon on the planet. Remember we are creating a salient intelligence that we can not be sure you can control. Some of the experiments I have heard I have caught computers making “mistakes” and not do what they were supposed to. This has the potential of being a far worse decision than listing to Dr. Fauci or having a rally on Jan 6th.
I hate this.
I would prefer to close my eyes and put my fingers in my ears and enjoy watching the quail and hummingbirds feeding in my back yard.
BUT
This is the next step as humans evolve on this planet, and it cannot be stopped or ignored. I prefer we lead the way, or the void will be filled by those who would stupidly and gleefully destroy mankind believing somehow they will escape the carnage.
Maybe the blending of AI and humanity will work out.
I feel apprehensive and sadness for the generations that will endure the transformation, because the world they know will never be the world I knew. And I will never know or understand theirs.
I often think of the changes my parents experienced over 90 years of life, and the changes over my 70+, and realize the human mind is not currently equipped to deal with much more than a century of change. God is wise.
Praying for my children and grandchildren.
And actually, for all of mankind.
