A pardon can stop a subpoena. A pardon can’t protect them if they lie under oath. And the idea of a preemptive pardon has never been tested by the courts.

I’m not a lawyer but I’ve read that the Supreme Court ruled that acceptance of a pardon is admission of a criminal act. Not sure if my interpretation is entirely correct. Maybe some smart Treeper can set me straight and provide you with some assurance that your statement is valid.
Please correct me if I am in error, but if the recipients of the pardon commit crimes after the granting of same, the pardon does not pertain to that additional crime. So if they lie under oath, they are in legal jeopardy. And they cannot take cover under the 5th amendment because they are immune.

The good thing about him doing this brings the kleig lights on her. Before this, probably not 2 in 100 people knew anything about her. Now many millions know her name and maybe a few will wonder who she is and why would she need a pardon.
