Need some help here. Is the pardon for the January 6th committee and staff inclusive of Mary McCord? I seem to recall that Bennie hired her as an attorney. Is the pardon only for the work of the committee? Mary has many other jobs where she engaged in criminal activity that were not part of the J6 committee. It is my view that there is no blanket or preemptive pardon. Pardons are for crimes that one has been convicted. This is unconstitutional. Ford’s precedent does not trump the Constitution.
Agree and if you recall NO ONE challenged “preemptive” pardons of either Carter’s blanket pardon’s for draft dodgers who had not been charged or Ford’s “veil of protection” for Nixon. These are not precidents, they are unchallenged illegal pardons not worth the paper written on.
