“This was no small thing, to restore a republic after it had fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may have been that our task was impossible. Yet, if we did not try then how would we know it could not be done? And if we did not try, it most certainly would not be done. The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, would have been lost.”
“But I tell you this: We did not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we made with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from this day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.”

I live in California.
I continuously donate to Samaritan’s Purse for the flood victims in the Carolinas.
I won’ t donate a damned dime for the fire victims in California. These fires were 100% preventable. They were caused by the incompetent Democrat politicians in this state. They need to be sued and fired.
This was so agregious. It is difficult to believe it wasn’t deliberate.
Preach it Lorrie!
Wow. Well I live in western NC and now I feel better knowing that CA fire victims get just a tad more than we did. How many more days until this boob is gone?
TRUTH BOMBS… !!
Over 2 HOURS WORTH….. Shellenberger a national treasure…….
I kinda drifted away from him after the unbelievable “homeless in california” videos and San Fransicko….
bc of the explosion of new independent outlets and sources vying for my screen time and 💲💲💲 in the interim…..
Well….. I mussa got lost……..
I just subscribed over at public.news
WITHOUT HESITATION.
Why would a heavily charred area of Palisades coastal highway be blackened and the rest of the stretch of highway look untouched with all homes along the coast burned & destroyed? Just asking.

Military Evaluations Describe Prospective Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth as ‘Incredibly Talented, Battle-Proven Leader’

I am Tired of Space Lasers and Blue Trashcans!
Over the past week, I have been checking on friends in the LA area who are near the fires. Thank God, they are all ok and some have evacuated. To a person, they have all pointed to the outrageous state and local irresponsibility that got them to where they were. We all know that this catastrophe was a combination of volatile weather conditions and an utterly irresponsible system of state government and city government.
California has had a “supermajority” of Democrats for most of the period from 2012 to the present. At the current time, Democrats hold 93 of 120 seats in the California Legislature. That’s 93 Democrats to 27 Republicans. With a continuing line of Democrat governors, this supermajority results in an essentially one-party state. This means that the most extreme or ridiculous ideas of the Democrat party can be realized in state law with virtually no pushback. This is why there is no ability to stop fentanyl dealers or protect children from the trans onslaught in the schools. A supermajority means idealogues can take control. Even the more moderate Democrats find this situation frustrating (as you can see from The Epoch Times’ excellent video series California Insider.)
In the past, even without a supermajority, the California Assembly was controlled by powerful Democrats (like Willy Brown) who served their own egos at the expense of the citizens. A Republican governor could balance some of that out, but the Speaker always had to get his due. This is one reason why common-sense projects (like water storage) became struggles (at best) or near impossible (at worst). Aided and abetted by a powerful environmental lobby, the Assembly allowed infrastructure to decay without adequate replacement or improvement.
In this context, let’s look at everything that created the current catastrophe of this week’s fires:
1. A historically fire prone area
2. Projects to create water storage facilities and update current structures consistently and ruthlessly blocked by environmental NGOs and lawfare
3. A new generation of politicians running the state and major cities who are more concerned with virtue-signaling and shallow power plays than creating infrastructure
4. A “supermajority” of a single political party (Democrats) which allows the most extreme ideas to go unchecked and voices of reason (in both parties) to be drowned out.
5. A lack of proper forestry and maintenance at the state level resulting in a state full of dry, combustible brush.
6. A population that has become inured to some of the most volatile habitat in the world, resulting in an abundance of non-native plants close to buildings and private homes, with a lack of necessary clearing for fire purposes.
7. Very little rainfall in Southern California, leaving dry brush as instant tinder
8. Bad municipal management in Los Angeles, which has been going on for decades.
9. A weather forecast with extreme winds in a dry year – a predictable condition for fires – greeted with total inaction by this municipal government.
10. An insurance industry that has been controlled by a state board since the 1990s and which has been leaving the state over the past decade. State Farm was not the first insurance company to cancel or deny fire or earthquake coverage. Some health insurance companies have also left because their businesses could not survive in California.
With conditions like these, you don’t need extraordinary theories of space lasers to explain what happened. You can start a hugely destructive fire with one dedicated arsonist, one campfire accident, one firework gone astray, one cigarette that gets discarded in dry brush. Add an inattentive, poorly managed government with its focus on vanity issues and you have a conflagration.
The conspiracy – if there is one – doesn’t have to leave the realm of poorly managed government, a crumbling infrastructure, and a blithely inattentive public. Yes, the public bears some blame.
The immediate blame goes to those who wanted pretty lawns and planted trees, flowers, bushes and grass that need a lot of water and are not native to the area. That stuff goes right up in flames, especially when there hasn’t been a lot of rain. Many homeowners do not leave enough open space around their property, which would slow down the spread of the fire by denying it fuel. Also, certain plants like “ice plant” can slow down the spread of fire. I knew a guy who went through the San Diego fires in 2003, and his house was saved by that danged ice plant. The two houses around him went up in flames.
Blame also goes to residents who did not pay attention to the insurance company issues around them. Insurers have been leaving California for some time. Here is one good video about that:
It may seem to be unfair to blame the victim, but here is the deal: if you’re going to buy a home in a desert climate, in or near a fire zone that is also prone to earthquakes, you HAVE to pay attention to insurance and the government policies that affect your home’s safety. If I were State Farm and knew that Newsom was getting rid of a major dam without a thought to the water needs of the homeowners, I would figure that my risks had just gone way beyond the ability to maintain a viable business. Insurance is a gamble on risk. If the risk is increased to the point where no gamble makes sense, you can’t justify creating or maintaining policies.
If you’re an LA homeowner, you ALWAYS have to be minding the store. You can’t ignore state policies or vote the same destructive people in again and again because they parade around the same sacred cows. To be a responsible homeowner means to hold your government’s feet to the fire.
Southern California is a hell of a risky place to own a property. But it’s also one of the most beautiful. You fall in love with the place, and even when you know you have to leave, it’s really wrenching. After decades in SoCal, I am now on the East Coast. Last Monday, I was shoveling snow and cursing the state of Virginia for being cold. My old co-worker thought it would be funny to send texts of himself in San Diego walking the dog on the beach. I cursed him, too.
But watching these fires, I know we made the right decision to move. Living in Southern California is like dating a fashion model. Lord, she’s gorgeous, but you’ve got to keep an eye out wherever you go, and eventually the money runs out. And if her friend is Gavin Newsom, you’ll end up with a fistful of hair gel as you walk out the door.
Now this here^^^^^ is the truth of the matter. Deal with it Californians.
F.C.
As long as California elections are unfair and lack any integrity, democrats will rule.
Yup. That all started with “Motor Voter” back in the 1990s. Everyone applying for a driver’s license got a voter registration form. They said they were going to check for citizenship, but that went by the wayside early on. Then, there was the permanent vote-by-mail laws which made it much easier to fake ballots. Whenever the Republicans would try to address the issue, the Democrats would yell “racism” and that shut everyone down.
I moved to Orange County from the Midwest in 1992. It is a beautiful part of the US. I don’t want to give up and walk away. This is a conservative state whose elections have been manipulated and stolen from us by our criminal state government for decades.
I’m hopeful that our VSGPDJT and his righteousness will spread and help to cure our very sick state. Perhaps the infernos north of me will shake the electorate to its senses.
A lot depends on what you have at stake. If you can stick it out and fight, do it. Orange County is a good place to stage a turnover from. I hope Trump saves California, but I’m not holding my breath.
It is not up to Donald Trump to save you. You have to save yourselves. And this means coming out of your comfort zone to get involved and make sure the democrats don’t cheat. Get involved in the local election board and volunteer at the polls. No one is going to save you. Which is why California is an absolute mess.
Why does the Mayor of Los Angeles need to fly to Africa to attend the inauguration of the President of Ghana at taxpayer’s expense?
.
Allegedly, Biden asked her to, because “Africa relations” was her thing when she was a Congresser.
.
outhouse counsel: When she was a CA Congresscritter, Bass made trips to Ghana. You can bet her trips had nothing to do with the needs of America or her constituents.
.
I’m certain they didn’t. I was merely responding to Joe’s question.
.
She needs to repay every single cent. She had no business leaving the country.
California had the perfect opportunity to recall Gavin Newsom a few years ago? They couldn’t find the time to get to the polls and get rid of him. Sorry but not sorry. You reap what you sow.

Shocking but very good for President Trump! Maybe a “YES” vote on Tulsi and RFK2?
hmmmmm . . . I’d like to believe Fetterman is not so bad . . . but we’ve been played so many times . . .
remember when Rubio was a “Tea Party” candidate? Same for Joni Ernst. They can spoil fast, like rotten eggs.
Rudy Guiliani got the same sham trial in Atlanta that President Trump got in New York City!
An absolute disgusting disgrace! Ruby Freeman was committing election fraud and even confessed saying “I did it to stop Trump!”
What’s with the advertising Kash? Getting cold feet?
JD Vance thinks that Wray and Garland arrested their own paid J6 operatives and have them rotting in a DC Prison? Nobody is that gullible!
”JD Vance Fires Back at Critics After His Comments on J6 Pardons Spark Controversy”
Excerpts:
“First of all, I donated to the J6 political prisoner fund and got ROASTED for it during my senate race,” Vance wrote on X. “I’ve been defending these guys for years. “
“Second, there were federal informants in the crowd. Do they get a pardon? I don’t think so,” Vance continued. “The president saying he’ll look at each case (and me saying the same) is not some walkback.”
“I assure you, we care about people unjustly locked up. Yes, that includes people provoked and it includes people who got a garbage trial

JD wouldn’t this include everybody…
“that includes people provoked and it includes people who got a garbage trial.”
troll ?
Yep! What ya gonna do about it? 😉
Prayers up for PDJT, his family, his staff, his nominees, all Americans attending the inauguration, and for the GOP House & Senate to support MAGA and PDJT.
Why are these still be pushed on the public???
