Interesting, thanks. I read yesterday (X tweet posted on patriots.win, can’t locate it right now) that smart meters were to blame. I recall that, back in the dark years of the Obozo regime, when CA Power pushed for retrofitting all homes with these smart meters. The post I read said the meters had lithium ion batteries and when the batteries were exposed to fire and then caught fire, they went from 140° to 9000° in seconds. Since they’re connected to the copper wiring in the homes and copper is very conductive, the battery essentially sends fire throughout the entire home via the wiring. So the home burns from the inside out and that’s why trees just a few feet away don’t burn.
Now add in EVs parked in garages and their charging stations and it is definitely a recipe for disaster.

If you apply a heat of 9000 degrees to the end of a copper wire, it will melt off without “sending fire throughout the home”.

That being said…IF… Greenland became part of the US there are many ways that could be legally set-up beside s statehood, i.e: Commonwealth (think Philippine Islands pre-1946 or Puerto Rico) , Territory (like US states before statehood), Trustee (like many Pacific islands) or State. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. The anti-Electoral college folks will really have fit if it’s a state because a population of 57K does not even qualify them for a seat in the House but Greenland would get 2 votes. … which requires 500K/seat. Oh and another interesting fact … they actually have an indigenous population GROWTH of 0.26% which is greater than most US States.
All sorts of fun stuff to ponder as President Trump negotiates…due to Greenland’s impact on mineral access and security implications to the US.

The incoming first lady told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” that she is more confident now she understands “the rules” and “process” of being in the White House — and that she will help her husband as they “have a lot to do to put the country back in shape.”
“The first time was challenging, we didn’t have much of the information. The information was withheld from us by the previous administration,” she said of Trump’s predecessor before his first term, President Barack Obama.
Even with all of the problems Melania did a great job the first time.
She made very few mis-steps in all that she did.
I am looking orward to Trumps presidency for a lot of reasons and Melania is one of them.

For the record, many addicts can do that. I had it happen to me with a young neighbor I was trying to help. I’m pretty good at picking up when someone isn’t being honest with me, but in one instance, she lied to my face so convincingly that it stunned me later. And it was because she wanted/needed to get a fix.
A mutual friend who had a similar background but kicked the habit confirmed it, saying, “That’s who we are. it is just the cheapest and most readily available; (usually available in a prudent society SMDH).

In 1968, my local school had two little girls from Czechoslovakia…they and their families escaped…both little girls learn English the hard way…total immersion, no language benefits etc…by the end of the school year, they spoke and understood a lot of English. AS students, we helped them a lot, too.
Yup, immersion is the only way to acquire a language.
We are living in a defacto dual language society.

Growing up near the Mexican border we had quite a few children of legal immigrants in our school.
There was not billingual programs back then.
The only help these kids got was from the teacher who would spend about a half an hour twice a week with them.
We would be given “quiet work” and left to work on our own while the teacher took the Mexican kids to a table in the back of the room and gave them a bit of extra help.
It only took those students about six weeks to become fairly fluent.
On course their parents were a whole differnt type of person and were all for America and everything in it.
Now we are just here to suck money out anyway they can.
