The notoriously political Judge Juan Merchan sentenced President-elect Donald Trump Friday morning for his ridiculous ‘hush money’ conviction in Manhattan. The Lawfare effort was entirely to position President Trump as the first convicted felon in the White House. That’s it. That’s the sum of motive and intent. To create a narrative.
That’s what lawfare is all about, creating public perceptions and using the judicial system to advance political goals. Few people care about the issues and the entire case is likely to be thrown out on a host of appeal reasonings.

During this whole charade of a criminal trial — notwithstanding the “host” of reasons it will be overturned on appeal — not once did I ever hear the prosecution or the court explain how the “hush money” payments SHOULD HAVE BEEN designated on Trump’s financial records and/or tax returns.
He put them down as “legal expenses” or “legal fees” or something similar. What was he supposed to say instead? And what accounting law required him to do so?
Finally, who exactly was tricked or misled by the notations that were in fact used, and to what detriment?

btw, everybody and their brother acknowledged these types of payments are perfectly legal and deductible as expenses. So wtf?

Keep in mind that the “booking” of the expenses was just insertions into a computer software program and not the company’s tax return or year-end financial statement. And the insertions were made after the 2016 election so they could not have had any effect on the 2016 elections.

Unconditional Discharge in this instance, as was stated, is for a speaking point to name a person a Convicted Felon.
There can be an appeal, and it will be reversed due to malalignment and malignancy of the case and the grievous twisting of the law to bring this case. So, for a short time, the talking point of “Convicted Felon” will stand and will be FOREVER referred to in ALL future media presentations, even after the appeal overturns the case.
Yet, in the rush to get this talking point out, the missteps will be the noose that allows a real criminal court to go after the perpetrators of this miscarriage of justice. The shiny object holds a steel trap, whose jaws are very strong, underneath that will allow for true criminal proceedings to brought against the conspirators and engagers of this case.
Have no doubt that they will be rewarded 1000 fold for what they have wrought, and in doing what they have done, they, being the criminal elements in this case, all the way from the investigators to the judges and all parties involved, shall taste the teeth of the lion.
