IIRC, the first prosecutor in the Martin case refused to prosecute because he thought it was a clear case of self-defense.
Then Trayvon’s stepfather started agitating with the FL NAACP, Crump and other race hustlers came in, and Obama weighed in with his “If I had a son, he’d look just like Trayvon.”
So Bondi buckled to the pressure and sent the case to another prosecutor for a “second look.” Unfortunately, it was sent to Angela Corey.
Rick Scott buckled first under the media pressure. In fact, Scott folded like a cheap suit and had Bondi appoint a Special Prosecutor after the County DA and Sheriff said Zimmerman was innocent!
I think it would have been hard for either Scott or Bondi to stand up to President Lightbringer back then, with the media also baying for the blood of the “White Hispanic,” and Trayvon’s mother displaying the picture of the cutesy, out-of-date middle school Trayvon, instead of the high school football player.

To use a military analogy, Trump may have the men, and the fire-support, but he’s still attacking a Mount Suribachi-like network of mutually supporting DS emplacements. Frontal attacks might look impressive, but they often become counter-productive, risking operational failure. A swiftly nominated loyal AG is perhaps far more valuable to the plan than a long-drawn out battle with no guarantee of success for an AG who might unintentionally become an Achilles Heel.
I have a feeling that whilst the DS was readying itself for a frontal attack the real danger it faces is for now concealed, but creeping up on its flanks. How interesting is it that when Trump picked Sessions during his first term the response was universally positive, but when Trump picked Bondi now the response is universally negative? Sessions was awful! His recusal caused a cascade of misery fir Trump, everyone associated with Trump, and all of us.

Bondi cannot be a better choice if the confirmation process was the concern. It is a given that her litigation history will be picked apart. Chances are most senators would balk at confirming someone with her history – almost sent an innocent man to prison. So zero chances of confirmation – incompetence. It is impossible that PDJT does not see this. Perhaps the reaction to this nominee will help identify more of the corrupt?
