Glenn Greenwald appears for an interview with Tucker Carlson on the topic of the Biden administration directly making a decision as they exit the White House to attack Russia and provoke a direct war between U.S-led NATO and Russia.
Greenwald notes the accurate context of the recent decision to provide, launch, target and direct ATACMS missiles to hit targets inside Russia. This is not the U.S. providing Ukraine with weapons for use. This is the USA using the auspices of Ukraine geography to launch missiles into Russia that can only be launched, directed and targeted by U.S-NATO members.
Ukraine does not have the targeting systems or satellites to use these longer-range ATACM missiles for strikes into Russia. Ukraine is merely the launch geography for the U.S/NATO to launch missiles directly into Russia. President Vladimir Putin specifically said he has clear eyes on what this deployment means. WATCH:

On an ancillary note, having spent three months inside Russia this summer and having the associated contacts therein, the Russian government is currently in the process of shutting down their nation in preparation for what comes next. All of the previous rules and regulations for entry visas are essentially gone. You will not read this anywhere else, but I can assure you Russia is isolating in preparation for war. This is not a good sign at all.
Having spent some time in the weeds this morning, I’m not sure the current trajectory is reversible before President Trump’s inauguration. President Trump is going to face a considerable challenge. Without doubt the Intelligence Community control agents in the Biden administration are monitoring every call and intercepting every contact that President-elect Trump might have in the next 6 weeks, in order to ensure their objectives are accomplished.
This action is coming from the people deep inside the IC and State Dept who are committed to fomenting a serious conflict with Russia and Vladimir Putin as the White House is about to change hands. We previously said to watch out for this lame duck session.
In response to previous discussion about this, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he had ‘clear eyes’ on what long-range missile deployment inside Ukraine really meant. Ukraine does not have the targeting systems or satellites to use long-range missiles for strikes into Russia.
Longer-range missiles have been used by U.S-NATO inside Ukraine. The ATACMS originate from the U.S-NATO and they are deployed with the targeting of U.S-NATO.
Russian President Vladimir Putin clearly stated that if such weapons were used, Russia will not pretend or ignore that this is direct provocative engagement by NATO against Russia. Putin is currently organizing affairs inside Russia prior to his response.

If World War III doesn’t start before Trump’s inauguration, Trump will have a chance to negotiate a settlement. He is such a good negotiator that, if anybody can succeed, he will.

In its fall offensive, Russia has confined its attacks to Ukraine’s eastern provinces and Ukraine’s incursion into Russia. Russia hasn’t even been threatening Ukraine’s near-by Black Sea port (Odesa). So, Russia is not trying to conquer Ukraine.
According to this news story, Russia will settle for a cease-fire-in-place, giving Russia control over Ukraine’s Russian-speaking eastern provinces. It also wants an agreement that Ukraine will not join NATO.
Trump won’t need to negotiate a settlement. Ukraine and Russia need this to stop and once “support for the war” is cut off, so will the war.
But Trump just might strike an agreement with Russia about NATO expansionism in exchange for something that also looks valuable or important to the public. But it will be an agreement with teeth and consequences.
Some suggest:
If US support ends, a white flag pops up, and it’s over.
Russia reasserts control over it’s border state.
NATO can still defend the rest of Europe.
The US and NATO still have plenty of reason to keep the MIC going because they have to replenish and modernize the militaries.
Are such suggestions wrong?

EVERYONE IS AFRAID RUSSIA WANTS TO INVADE EUROPE. NOTHING COULD BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH THAN THAT. Well, if reports are accurate, Russia just launched a devastating ICBM attack on Ukraine which would at first look like “overkill” but the message should be both loud and clear — “We have ICBMs, they work and we have a lot more where that came from.”
I won’t call this a “war.” I have no beef with Russia. I’m calling this a criminal act on a global scale and we know who the guilty parties are — a few by name and a bunch we have yet to learn. The restraint of Putin at this point is incredible. I ask others “if Mexico attacked us with weapons from China, how do you think the US would respond?” The results are as predictable as you would think. Apply that mindset to Putin and you can see just how much measured response he delivers.
I feel really bad for all of the Ukraine people and Russian people who have died in all of this so far. They are “just people” (unless you’re in Azov… then I have to wonder why they aren’t out there “fighting and dying” like the rest) caught up in a much larger political campaign. Like Trump, “I just want people to stop dying!” But I’ll be more precise by saying I want people to stop dying because of the people who are making these things happen.
The Mexico as proxy state waging war on the U.S. because their are Mexican-Americans here that may feel oppressed is the analogy I often use to try to make understand how and why Russia has responded to the U.S. intervention in Ukraine and the coup of their government in 2014 by Obama & Co. (State Dept. & CIA). How would we respond ? With much less restraint to be sure.

Indeed the impact you assign to a hostile Mexico is dwarfed by the impact of a hostile Ukraine. Imagine if the entire South again seceded and Allied itself with a hostile China. Now we’re getting close.
