I thought this was a bad move today. I agree they shouldn’t be in his administration. I agree that they weren’t loyal and shouldn’t be trusted a second time just because they came back and tried to make nice. But I don’t agree with humiliating them in victory. When there’s a strategic reason, such as taking down an opponent in a competition, I can accept it. But the election is past and there’s no strategic reason to embarrass them when you might find some use for them someday. To make a public declaration is to guarantee that they’ll work against you publicly and privately. Just makes no strategic sense to me.

I still say Sen. John Kennedy. I’ve seen a lot of detractors here, but I’ve watched his career for decades up close.
He’s judicious, and honest to a fault. He’s got plenty of cattle in his hat.
To me, he represents the idea of the Founders as the epitome of the “cooling” Senate “saucer” – to cool passions. I think he would be a reliable, wise, stable force for the country.

So, there seems to be those who believe President Trump does not understand the high level risks involved at this very moment. They believe that he is just too stupid to make his personal security and his family’s security decisions because the Secret Service is there for him and them.

Abigail, I’m not there and don’t know. It certainly seems to me that President Trump SHOULD be taking major steps toward protecting himself and his family, but I don’t KNOW that he is. I certainly HOPE so.

There’s a live cam across the water focus on Mar-A-Lago. USSS has added robotic dog that hops along the seawall, one of those tall police (?) type scanners and a ton on LEO cars parked on the grass. This was a scan of part of the perimeter. Military boat on the water.
It didn’t seem there was extra security when the second attempt was foiled. It was Secret Service that spotted the guy, and even that was after he was missed by earlier checks. And the trees should have been an intense focal point in my untrained opinion.
Since I don’t trust USSS personnel to be fully trained and 100% loyal, I too hope there is much more security with increased intensity, skill and awareness.
