♦ Minnesota, South Dakota and Virginia began early voting on September 20. ♦ Vermont started tallying on September 21. ♦ Illinois opened polling locations on September 26. ♦ California, Montana and Nebraska joined on October 7. ♦ Indiana, New Mexico, Ohio and Wyoming begin early voting on October 8, and ♦ Arizona on October 9. ♦ Tennessee began October 16. ♦ North Carolina was the first battleground state to offer early voting, October 17. ♦ Louisiana began today, October 18th.
For residents in those states and others who have begun voting, let us begin our ground reporting on precinct level activity.
What is happening in your neighborhood, town, hamlet, village, county or city? How are the polls in your area?
Ground reports have a record of accuracy.

We voted by absentee ballot yesterday. As my wife just had knee replacement surgery (on 10/8), there was no way she’d be able to stand in line. We requested absentee ballots, and yesterday, I delivered them to the Cabarrus County Board of Elections.
My LORD! The line for early voting was long enough to where we they needed people to stop and direct traffic, for parking their vehicles. One of the volunteers brought me through to the office, where I had log my own ballot in as well as my wife’s ballot. It took about 15 minutes for me to pass them on, but that line was about 1-1/2 hours long.
This is my last election in the. Old North State: I’ve lived here since October 1967 and now, we’re moving away, across state lines, to a historic, but small, dying mill town to experience less traffic, friendlier neighbors and a slower pace of life. The house renovation isn’t finished yet and the surgery set us further behind our original schedule. We’re very hopeful that President Trump will serve 4 more years and really believe either he’ll move it toward its origins or it will fracture abd there won’t be an America any longer, as we know it.
Best of luck to ya’ll in your new endeavor. I hope your wife is feeling better soon!
BTW, I’m registered as an Independent. I pulled the plug on the Republican Party after getting stellar POTUS candidates such as John McCain (whose platform was exactly the same as that of Barry Soetero)
and Mitt Romney, who after giving Barry a drubbing in the first debate chose not to prosecute his campaign against Barry (and was rewarded with a Senate seat in Utah as a consolation prize). After those 2 clowns, Independent looked like the place to be
McCain was my senator in AZ. He turned out to be a worthless pos for the state and the country. And his personal life didn’t elevate him to sainthood for sure. And Romney? Same. But rethink registering Republican – I stayed with it just to be able to vote in primaries. That is where the MAGA revolution of the party started.
WA state allows voter registrations up to Nov. 5. This year’s ballot does not have the tear-off stub you could use to track your ballot.
“…sickly generation…” True, selfish DINKS (double income no children) types, but don’t forget the generations of Americans killed by abortion.
So, how do you track your ballot? How do you know it arrived at its intended destination? I guess I just don’t have that much trust in a vote-by-mail system. (Apparently, my daughter and son-in-law do because they are registered voters in Washington).
We lost electrical power at 6:00 PM last evening during a significant forecast wind storm. It remained out for 3-4 hours w/ no updates so I checked only to be told by the power company via text message (cellular still worked) that: “YOUR POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED” … ????
But the power had not been restored. I then managed to connect to a “real person” and asked “when do you think it might be back on? … has anyone had a chance to troubleshoot this area yet … ??”
Of course, I got the expected “we don’t know … there’s lots of power outages … we have limited crews” … i.e., all the usual suspects in the form of boiler-plate power company answers. But I’m used to that — it even kinda’ reminded me of being back in my ol’ Navy days … SNAFU.
So I jokingly said: “I’ll bet if my name were DONALD J. TRUMP the power would be back on ASAP !!”
The nice lady laughed. Disclaimer: I’m closing in on 8 decades of semi-useful consciousness and this once great State of my boyhood has devolved into a hard-blue dumping ground for assorted leftist human flotsam and jetsam from around the Country and the world — so I said “Thank you for checking” and we hung up.
Three to four minutes later — that’s 3-4 minutes — THE POWER CAME BACK ON (!!!) — and has remained on as of this morning …
Who says there’s not “power” (no pun intended) in a name … ???
I hope I am not repeating myself as I think I posted something but maybe on a Presidential thread a couple of days ago. I got my internet back yesterday so I want to participate in this thread.
Western NC, town of Weaverville. A zoo on Thursday. I did not go to vote but friend did. Huge turnout primarily Democrats. Waited in line for one and a half hours. While waiting a young woman came out from voting and shouted very loudly, “A vote for Trump is a vote for the death of America”. A man in the line shouted back, “STFU” but said it in full.
She finally got in to vote and when she went to put her ballot into the scanner it jammed. She was told to put it in a wood box with a lock and they would count this later. I called BS when she told me. She called the Board of Elections and they told her it happened because it was overloaded and she could check if her ballot was counted on line AFTER the election. So, there goes one vote for Trump into the trash.
I do not want to vote at that site but all of the early voting sites are in Dem areas except one. My regular voting site is conservative. I really want to vote early this year but I will wait until things die down. Yesterday was the same; I drove by and cars everywhere.
Lots of voting activity at the county center where we went yesterday to pay property taxes and vote. Parking lot full. We didn’t have to wait to start the process but it was crowded once we started to vote. This was on the first cold rainy day of the season. Our county is hugely Republican. It’s early voting in Arizona.
Early voting in Iowa began on Oct. 16th. We live in Johnson County and had to go to the County admin. Offices in downtown Iowa City. We got there about 11:00 AM and had to wait in line about 30 minutes to vote. Iowa City, being a Universty town, is quite liberal in its makeup. The
I don’t know how to post images, but a friend sent me this from Lara Trump and it says:
Breaking: In an unprecedented development, North Carolina Republicans have taken the lead in early voting.
Democrats led the in person early vote in 2020 and 2022.
Republicans: 34.94%
Democrats: 34.84%
Sundance:
If you can get Catherine Engelbrecht’s attention, residents in GA Assisted Living facilities need help requesting & submitting absentee ballots. A friend made me aware how difficult it is for elders to handle the process. In these facilities, scanners/printers are not easily accessible by residents. The elders may now NOT reside in their registered county. Absentee ballots must be requested by 10/25/2024. Here is a link to the process:
https://georgia.gov/vote-absentee-ballot
I will post this on True The Vote & VoterGA, too. Hopeful you have access to Catherine & perhaps she can organize an action team. It may be a common problem in many states … especially battleground states.
Here in CA we only have mail in voting. And yes, when you get a DL you need to tick a box to attest you are a citizen and you get a ballot. Spoke to my State Senator whom I am friends with and the knows all who get a DL have their names submitted to SoS and entered on the rolls. Illegal immigration is why this is a one party state.
dropped our ballots to voting center drop box.
only hope for CA is when the middle class Hispancic block say “enough”. Yes, there are many conservative middle class Hispanics.
I submitted my absentee ballot to North Carolina. As soon as I mailed it I got a text saying that the postal service had received it. One week later got another text saying it was received and counted. They thanked me for voting. I thanked them for tracking and counting my ballot. Voted straight GOP.
The only way Dems can win now is to massively cheat.
Lord foil their plans. Please protect and keep our President, Donald Trump.
Been hoping that the Mossad hacks our voting machines to favor Trump and offset the hacking our enemies will do in favor of Harris.
One can hope.
Scott Pressler was reporting from Beaver County PA the 17th..voters were dropping off absentee ballots..he said mostly R voters!! Trump is having a rally in Latrobe PA tonight and will be at the Pittsburgh Steeler Game tomorrow..the city is packed!!!
I haven’t seen any political yard signs in my area of Pierce County (WA) for either side. However in my neighborhood, flying the American flag at one’s home is a patriotic sign for Trump; which means eight of the fourteen homes on my street are voting Trump (4 Trump votes in my household). Alas, it doesn’t really matter what we do in WA for federal positions, Seattle/King County will overwhelm all the rest of us as they have done since our first national election as a state in 1890. Over the last two decades traditional red counties have gone purple (toss up) or blue due to “liberal creep” as more libs spill out of the paradise that is Seattle/King County and into the surrounding counties (Snohomish, Kitsap, Pierce, Thurston, Whatcom, etc.); even Spokane has forsaken its historical redness. A snowball in Hell now has a better chance of survival than a Republican winning an election in WA.
Don’t overlook the role that schools are playing in the bluing of our country. Until and unless we solve that problem we’re going to keep seeing that increase.
GA: Doug Collins is interview and says early voting is very encouraging for PT particularly in low propensity voters, the ones they can’t track because they don’t consistently vote.
Be nice if Trump would give Doug a job.
Yes. He’s a good man. I’m glad he had a presence at the rally and then on fox. He’s loyal to PT.
NC posts example ballots for printing at the election website if you search the name of anyone
https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/
Also daily results are being posted at
https://dl.ncsbe.gov/?prefix=Press/2024%20General/NC%20Absentee%20Stats%20for%202024%20General/
I have heard the line for early voting was long the first day in NC and that there was a steady stream all day today.
Also it is strange at the election site, the Democrats were campaigning generally, but Republicans in general were not there advocating for their candidates. For the Republicansonly 2 candidates for Commissioner were there and they were to advocate for themselves.
checking in from largely Republican county in SW Ohio. Early voting has been over the top with over 1000/day. The Republican HQ folks say they’ve never seen anything like it. Voted early before 11 am and not much of a wait but later in the day is a zoo. There are 4 volunteers handing out voting cards during early voting hours. County commissioner said it’s critical to get them in the hands of voters they will likely vote R all the way down the ticket.
I went to do early voting in Iowa this morning. I have to go back later. The wait was easily 90 minutes. I live in a Republican stronghold. I’ve never even seen a line at early voting around here before. This was absolutlely bananas.
Early voting started here on Oct 5th. Through Thursday 8% had voted. The numbers are updated every day.
Voted here last Wednesday in Indiana, Dearborn County. I asked the poll worker if early voting was up from last time and she relied yes by about 500 hundred people. Indiana has daily voting everyday up until the day before the election. Dearborn County is very red so no issue here on who they will choose.
Miami County Kansas (30,000 residents) had 400 a day for the first two days of early voting.
I am a member of the Absentee Ballot Board in my county — a socialist county in northern Minnesota.
Lots of ballots submitted already. Lots of ballots.
And, even though the Never Trumper — Tom Emmer — is in charge of President Trump’s campaign here in Minnesota (the deepest deep state of the GOP is here), and he’s made it impossible for the average citizen to get a Trump yard sign, there are Trump yard signs up here more than 2016 or 2020. That says A LOT about what people are thinking when they are fearless in putting up yard signs knowing their crazy pervert neighbors will target them.
The arrow on the upper right corner of Minnesota that sticks out over Lake Superior is called the Arrowhead. It generally votes (cheats) the same way Mpls/St. Paul votes, and it is where some of the worst cheats have happened in recent years.
Watch the Arrowhead to see how things go in Minnesota.
Resist!!
I live in Duval County (Jacksonville) FL.
In a HUGE STEP BACKWARDS, they’ve gone to using ES&S touchscreen machines that them print a “ballot.”
Even if you check the printout for accuracy, the tabulator reads the barcode that is also on the printout. No way for a human to check that.
Then God only knows what nefarious algorithms may be at play in the tabulators.
So I’ll still vote, but with zero confidence in the integrity of the system.
All I can tell you is that the Gov.’s office assured me that the tab. machines from 4 years ago (2020) have been outlawed. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. God Save the Republic !
The barcode is supposed to be there for redundancy and to ensure that filled-in ovals are not mis-read, etc. It’s too bad we can’t trust the systems these days, because what you describe *should be* the gold standard for voting these days, providing fault-tolerant, hard-copy ballots, which can survive an accurate recount (no chads or hand-filled ballots).
My absentee ballot has been accepted according to the ballot tracker for my county in Virginia.
GO Trump/Vance!
GO Hung Cao!
SFL – FL early voting starts on 10/26. Will cast my vote on the first day in person. My neighbor is a life long democrat. She told me she will be voting for Trump. She has 3 kids. Her words -“even shopping at Aldi’s and Walmart, I have no money in my pocket. I had money in my pocket when Trump was President.” Very few political yard signs, but saw one Harris/Walz sign and a couple of Trump flags flying on flag poles.
Just a note for sundance’s next update – as of today, October 19th – whoops, the midnight hour just hit, so yesterday – Massachusetts also started early voting.
It continues every day (not just business days) now until ending on November 1st.
I’ll repeat this on the prez thread for today in case it’s missed here. I’m guessing the initial early voting thread will be pumped back up a couple of times…

Landowner built this because his smaller sign kept getting trashed and vandalized.

I submitted my mom’s absentee ballot at the county clerk’s office on Friday. The security/guards at the clerk’s office door told me “You have to mail the absentee ballot, they will not accept it in there.” (The envelope is pre-paid postage, fyi.) In any event, I told them to go ahead and scan my belongings and wand me to get into the building and I then proceeded into the clerk’s office, expecting to fight them on the hand-submission. (I already had a completed state affadavit form in-hand that is required to do the drop off). To my surprise, they didn’t bat an eye when I presented the ballot and affadavit… and I was out the door in 60 seconds. I passed this information on to the guards at the door as I left, and they gave me a cold stare before saying “We just tell people what they tell us…”. Sounds eerily familiar… Do your own reserach, and don’t let anyone force you to use the USPS if you don’t want to. (I just had an IRS payment check go “missing” for six weeks in the mail, so what do you think they’d do with a conspicuously marked ballot?)
Texas early voting starts Monday the 21st. Husband and I plan to be there bright and early.
Here it is October 20th, and I still have not received my Ballot! (I’m in California.). Now, I have to track the damned thing down…what a hassle!
I’m a bit late to the party on this one but thought I’d pass along what a neighbor told me yesterday evening, Sunday, October 20.
I live in the suburb clustered around the first exit on I-70 west of Indianapolis International Airport. The eastern half of this, Hendricks, county is Indianapolis suburbs, the rest rural. I mean, it goes from suburban to rural in about 100 yards further west down the Old National Highway which is about 1/2 mile south of me. Bang– you’re in the country.
My across the street neighbor is a CA refugee who can wax poetic or polemic on the sorry state of CA as long as you’ll let her. She’s also a poll worker. Early voting in IN began Tuesday 10/8 and runs through Monday 11/4. My neighbor helps man the site at the county office extension building. They open at 8am and close at 5pm (there’s no lunch break as I recall). She told me yesterday that last week, there were people queued up when they opened the doors and people came continuously throughout the day; no lunch break for any of the workers all week.
In ’20, the county voted 61 – 36 for Trump. Our congressional district hasn’t sent a democrat to DC since … wait for it … 1930. I asked her if she thought any of those folks were voting for Cackles. She said, ‘There’s always a few dumbasses no mater where you go.’ 🙂
Just got back from early voting in Conroe Texas. The crowds were wrapped around the main library and not a parking space to be found in the lot. Hundreds of people standing in line too deep to get the vote on the first day. A great sign in this conservative county.
