We appear to have reached the point in our devolution when jury trials will now be decided on the basis of politics, not facts. On the basis of feelings, not testimony. On the basis of social media “likes,” not evidence.
Has anyone ever seen the film “12 Angry Men?” I call your attention to this film only to highlight that it was 12 men in the story who were angry, but who ultimately came around to reason. This is not to say that men are perfect – far from it.
I have seen portions of the interviews with the women jurors in the Clancy case, and I can state with confidence that none of them are capable of even the lowest level of reason. And this is probably the biggest reason that we are where we are as a country today.
If 50% of the population (and yes, there are exceptions) are incapable of even the most basic reasoning ability, then this country cannot survive as long as they have decision-making power. And the evidence of this is everywhere, not just in this one case. We need big changes in our society if it is to survive.

I can’t wrap my head around anyone voting not guilty in this case. The woman admits to slaughtering her babies, one by one. She chased the oldest child down who was aware of her intentions – the one person in his life he thought was his protector. I can’t imagine the terror in her little body.
Are we allowed, even martyred, for killing our children no matter their age?
And now the message has been sent; Dare to disagree with this philosophy and we will ruin your life and that of your family.
How many potential jurors will withstand the pressure?
Murder is a SIN punishable by death. Our judicial system is becoming more corrupt and evil by the day, reflecting the thinking of many of it’s inhabitants. An ominous sign of future difficulties.
My life is complex. So why did I put that aside when evaluating the info on this juror? It’s awful having family members willing to lie about you to save their own skins. I’ve had to live with that but I automatically chose to not consider that possibility for this man. He sounded like the only sane fair and balanced person. Good on this self styled journalist for doing the work and grateful that his expose’ ended up here. High level of concern certainly warranted.

Biography: Gordon Gould was an American physicist who is widely credited with the invention of the laser (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation). It was only in 1991, however, after decades of legal battles, that he finally received a series of patents that recognized his contribution to the development of laser technology. He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in the same year.
Gould developed an interest in science and technology at an early age. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and later a master’s degree from Yale University. He began his doctoral studies at Columbia University, where his work would lead to his involvement with lasers.
The critical moment in Gould’s career came in 1957 when, during his doctoral studies at Columbia, he conceptualized the idea of a laser. Gould made detailed notes about his ideas in a notebook which he famously had notarized at a candy store. His concept involved a method to produce a narrow and intense beam of light via the stimulated emission of photons from excited atoms or molecules.
Gould’s journey, however, fraught with legal battles over patent rights. He had not immediately applied for a patent for his laser concept, and other scientists, including Theodore Maiman, Charles Townes, and Arthur Schawlow, also contributed significant research in the field. Maiman successfully built the first working laser in 1960. There was then a protracted legal battle over the patent rights to the laser technology.
Despite the challenges, Gould continued his work in laser technology. Anyone can be a notary, my brother was one, he had a convenience/bookstore/bus station in our little town. (no convicted criminals as I recall)

COMMENTARY FOR 1 CORINTHIANS 10
The great privileges, and yet terrible overthrow of the Israelites in the wilderness. (1-5) Cautions against all idolatrous, and other sinful practices. (6-14) The partaking in idolatry cannot exist with having communion with Christ. (15-22) All we do to be to the glory of God, and without offence to the consciences of others. (23-33)1-5 To dissuade the Corinthians from communion with idolaters, and security in any sinful course, the apostle sets before them the example of the Jewish nation of old. They were, by a miracle, led through the Red Sea, where the pursuing Egyptians were drowned. It was to them a typical baptism. The manna on which they fed was a type of Christ crucified, the Bread which came down from heaven, which whoso eateth shall live for ever. Christ is the Rock on which the Christian church is built; and of the streams that issue therefrom, all believers drink, and are refreshed. It typified the sacred influences of the Holy Spirit, as given to believers through Christ. But let none presume upon their great privileges, or profession of the truth; these will not secure heavenly happiness.
6-14 Carnal desires gain strength by indulgence, therefore should be checked in their first rise. Let us fear the sins of Israel, if we would shun their plagues. And it is but just to fear, that such as tempt Christ, will be left by him in the power of the old serpent. Murmuring against God’s disposals and commands, greatly provokes him. Nothing in Scripture is written in vain; and it is our wisdom and duty to learn from it. Others have fallen, and so may we. The Christian’s security against sin is distrust of himself. God has not promised to keep us from falling, if we do not look to ourselves. To this word of caution, a word of comfort is added. Others have the like burdens, and the like temptations: what they bear up under, and break through, we may also. God is wise as well as faithful, and will make our burdens according to our strength. He knows what we can bear. He will make a way to escape; he will deliver either from the trial itself, or at least the mischief of it. We have full encouragement to flee from sin, and to be faithful to God. We cannot fall by temptation, if we cleave fast to him. Whether the world smiles or frowns, it is an enemy; but believers shall be strengthened to overcome it, with all its terrors and enticements. The fear of the Lord, put into their hearts, will be the great means of safety.
15-22 Did not the joining in the Lord’s supper show a profession of faith in Christ crucified, and of adoring gratitude to him for his salvation ? Christians, by this ordinance, and the faith therein professed, were united as the grains of wheat in one loaf of bread, or as the members in the human body, seeing they were all united to Christ, and had fellowship with him and one another. This is confirmed from the Jewish worship and customs in sacrifice. The apostle applies this to feasting with idolaters. Eating food as part of a heathen sacrifice, was worshipping the idol to whom it was made, and having fellowship or communion with it; just as he who eats the Lord’s supper, is accounted to partake in the Christian sacrifice, or as they who ate the Jewish sacrifices partook of what was offered on their altar. It was denying Christianity; for communion with Christ, and communion with devils, could never be had at once. If Christians venture into places, and join in sacrifices to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life, they will provoke God.
23-33 There were cases wherein Christians might eat what had been offered to idols, without sin. Such as when the flesh was sold in the market as common food, for the priest to whom it had been given. But a Christian must not merely consider what is lawful, but what is expedient, and to edify others. Christianity by no means forbids the common offices of kindness, or allows uncourteous behaviour to any, however they may differ from us in religious sentiments or practices. But this is not to be understood of religious festivals, partaking in idolatrous worship. According to this advice of the apostle, Christians should take care not to use their liberty to the hurt of others, or to their own reproach. In eating and drinking, and in all we do, we should aim at the glory of God, at pleasing and honouring him. This is the great end of all religion, and directs us where express rules are wanting. A holy, peaceable, and benevolent spirit, will disarm the greatest enemies.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Our sweet boy, Lordy. He died 4 years ago at the age of 31. We had him 25 years – i miss him everyday.

Heard something interesting. When scribes, finally stuck on their indicators for what vowels to use, Yahweh was already a name that wasn’t to be said. So instead they put the vowels for Lord. And ignorant people read it as Yehovah. At about the same time J was invented and was being added to various languages such as English and Yehovah changed to Jehovah. Initially it was pronounced the same but in recent times, pronunciations turned to the hard J we have today. But pronunciation has not changed in all languages with Js.
Thus the rule of not saying Yahweh is honored by ignorance, saying Jehovah instead.
But then Hebrew has been a dead language since Babylonian captivity. I sincerely doubt that anybody in 1000 AD knew how it was spoken in the Kingdom of Judah. Nor did they know how it was spoken under Roman rule.

As the link implies, there are many that prefer to use a Greek phrase to describe the number of letters in the Hebrew Name of God instead of actually using the name.
Also, it has an image of how the letters evolved over time. I’m not sure Phoenician would have ever had that name. The alphabet seems to have been started by Semites in the Sinai area and taken up by Phoenicians who were Canaanites. (also Semites) From them it spread to other Canaanites. And Greeks, etc. Hebrew is a language descended from Canaanite. So the concept is right. But Yahweh does not seem to be Canaanite, and seems to come from South of Canaan. (Much debate over this. Bible actually describes Yahweh leaving the mountain in the south and guiding Israel to Canaan. But many put the Bible as being written long afterwards.) So it is not so clear to me that it would ever be used in Phoenician.
