The aircraft carrier USS George Washington is finally underway to its new homeport in Japan, following six arduous years in a Virginia shipyard that included reports of difficult living conditions and a cluster of suicides among the crew.

The Constitution requires Congress to approve a declaration of war. However, after WWII (the last war declaration) there have only been resolutions and approval of budgets to send of military. Now the guidance comes from the War Powers Act.
According to Wikipedia, “On at least 125 occasions, the president has acted without prior express military authorization from Congress.” And that has been going on for at least 120+ years. It is not just recently.

At one time I placed that poem here, dear friend. I know it well but am glad to repost so all will see it.
I came to the conclusion long ago….precisely on my return to this country after two decades away…we have become too big. The seat of power in DC is too far removed from those it rules, not governs. My view is that accountability for their corrupt self enriching actions (lobbyists and insider trading) grows in direct proportion to their physical distance from those who elected them. Put another way… out of sight, out of mind…with no need to look at the people one “represents” in the eye, face to face, on a daily basis.
All empires perish. History is littered with great powers which have ended for various reasons, not least of which are moral decay and societal collapse. We have arrived.
I believe the time is fast approaching, if it hasn’t already arrived (and I could make a very good case for it) that the only way any of this once great Republic maintains any semblance of what it was designed to be is devolution.
The designed and executed plan by nefarious actors to divide this nation has been successful. In short (because it’s Monday, and I am not operating on all cylinders yet) a regrouping needs to occur. How that would be achieved would not be easy or quick. But I believe if people could bring themselves to admit that this nation as founded has run its course and has been usurped by those who want it destroyed who will never allow their power to be wrested from their hands, this idea would have legs.
Come November 5-December, which is how long I think it will take for us to know if President Trump is victorious, we will know if we are closer to the edge of the precipice. We aren’t that far from it now, hanging on by our fingernails.

Yes, entities working for U.S. government figured out many decades ago how to artificially create and manipulate hurricanes (very low pressure CCW rotating vortex systems) for both good and evil purposes. They can now use a range of tools, from dropping dry ice into the hurricane to using high power/ high frequency (microwave) directed energy to heat up the atmosphere / ionosphere over top of and/or adjacent to the storm’s rotational center.
