I was there today. It was awesome. A little controversy about the size of the venue and the mayor’s involvement in not approving a larger venue such as the Enmart Arena where Kamala Harris was a few weeks ago. The venue only held 2500 people even though directly downstairs was one that held over 9000. Thousands of people that stood in line for hours could not get in. Savannah is a very blue town but you wouldn’t know it for the thousands that showed up to support President Trump. He has a great plan to rebuilt our country.

Johnson, the carpetbagger mayor of Savannah, is buds with Andrew Cuomo, who flew all the way to Savannah to celebrate his first win in a big slobber fest photo op. Johnson is originally from New York. IIRC, in the last mayoral race there were approximately only 16k votes cast despite Savannah having a population of 147k. Johnson got 12k. That’s how unpopular he is down here. Savannah is not really blue. I think the black folks are not cooperating with the threats and intimidation that was implemented in the last election in 2020.
Johnson is definitely in on the game. The racial demographics for the City of Savannah are 51% black to 36% white. Chatham County is 49% white to 40% black. The city itself is controlled by Johnson and his crew. It was the people of the county and surrounding counties that showed up by the thousands, majority white. There were very few black people in those lines. I know black men are supporting President Trump in big numbers. Just look on Tik tok. But I think they are intimidated to show any sign of support in the city.

Lest anyone think the gusher of federal spending ended with the Covid pandemic, a new analysis from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) demonstrates otherwise. The analysis shows the true motivation behind the supposedly ‘temporary’ programs the Biden administration and Democrats enacted in 2021-2022: to expand the welfare state even further.
As a result of these efforts, CBO believes that spending on Obamacare subsidies will more than double over the coming decade. It’s the latest data point showing why the increased subsidies Democrats passed in 2021-2022 should be allowed to expire at the end of next year rather than be made permanent, as Democrats prefer.
Skyrocketing subsidy spending
For the years after the effects of those expanded tax credits dissipate, greater expected enrollment is partly due to other factors such as changes in CBO’s economic and demographic forecasts, including the immigration surge that began in 2021.
To put it into plain English, the administrative reasons behind the higher enrollment boil down to three factors. First, the Biden administration’s failure to patrol the southern border is leading more individuals to qualify for subsidies. Second, regulatory actions of questionable legality — including changes to subsidy eligibility for families and a recent change extending subsidies to DACA recipients, which several Republican attorneys general have challenged in court — have expanded the number of individuals eligible for subsidies.
Third, administrative changes to the sign-up process are encouraging enrollment and outright fraud. Individuals now have every reason to sign up for “free” coverage because the Biden administration has loosened verification requirements and because even if individuals get caught, they may not have to pay much, if any, of the subsidies they received back to the government.
