Perhaps this was already known, but it was a new detail to me.
The U.S. Secret Service gave congressional investigators a briefing on the Trump assassination attempt by Ryan Routh at Trump National in Florida. According to Florida Representative Mike Waltz, who is a member of the committee investigating, apparently the U.S. Secret Service agent walked up on Routh from the fence line and saw the barrel of the SKS rifle. The proactive shots fired by the agent were from within 10 feet of Ryan Routh.

Mike Waltz repeats how the FBI are keeping all of the pertinent details surrounding the assassination attempt concealed from the investigating committee under the auspices of an ongoing investigation. Waltz is calling for transparency in both the Pennsylvania attempt and the Florida attempt; however, despite the USSS providing information, anything from the FBI is not being shared.
The detail of a single USSS agent, accidentally discovering Ryan Routh on the fence line further emphasizes just how fortunate we are that this assassination attempt was foiled. It appears the agent just coincidentally walked up on Routh’s position during a standard security sweep, and immediately fired shots after seeing the barrel of the gun. Yikes!
The presence of God’s intervention is in these types of details.
Okay, either the agent was an extremely bad shot or it is a setup to make it look as though the secret service is doing it’s job.
Which brings another question, if the agent is so bad at aiming and shooting, that he could miss a large target from only 10 feet, why on earth is he in the secret service?

Was it a poor shot? Or was it some agent trying to shoot to wound or warning shots? (never authorized. If agents fire they are supposed to shoot to STOP the threat.) Or did this agent fire off a “starting gun” to wake up napping Routh so he could get away?

I’m closing in on 8 decades and have spent a lifetime around firearms –starting from a early age and continuing into adulthood from professional requirements, competition, collecting, personal protection, and just ’cause … and only two conclusions come to my mind when you miss at 10′ …

That spot in the bushes is supposed to be a very well-known location where media photographers hang out to get pictures of Trump on the golf course.
A grown man in a long-sleeved pink shirt hiding in the bushes…what kind of bushes planted would be so dense? And if so dense, how could the grown man maneuver around inside of them?

RobIn PA clearly is an expert who realizes at 10 feet its a miracle to hit someone with a rubber band. Remember all those water gun fights at ten feet where you missed at hit something a mile away. All those experts with their pew-pews never experienced the rigors Rob has in gender studies class. Imagine the horrors of trying to hit a moving target at ten feet. Why I asked my six year old about this while at the state fair and he showed me the teddy bear he had bagged.

The interview I saw was that a woman saw the perp running to his vehicle.
So, she pulled up behind him (blocking his exit) and took photos of his car/license plate.
After she pulled out of his way, she sent the images to law enforcement.
Then, the high-speed chase to catch Routh. The lady was taken over to the next county
so that she could id him in a line-up.
Pres. Trump also discussed this during his appearance on Gutfeld last night.
If you are a single woman and see a man run to his parked car, would you block his car’s exit with your own car? Then, after taking more than one photo, would you, as a single woman, move your car out of his way so he could leave the area?

She did not ‘block his exit’. She followed him and when they stopped (wherever) she took pics of his vehicle.

It’s enough to make you wonder if the story is even true…
Was that the witness that photographed the fleeing vehicle so well that the license plate was discernable?
Or did USSS agent snap the photo?

After all, we have seen photos and video of Routh’s arrest.
How did the authorities in pursuit of fleeing Routh get him to stop?

No one trained in shooting is trained to shoot at a gun barrel. And no one who has ever taken firearms training should miss four shots from 10 feet when the bad guy has not even fired..

What was the angle the agent had in relationship to the fence?
Did the agent ATTEMPT to scale the fence and pursue?
How far was the perp from the getaway car?

There are so many holes in this story.
Have we seen a wide photo shot of the shrub and fence area where Routh allegedly was hiding?
How about an aerial drawing of Routh in bushes, Routh’s car, vehicle of woman who blocked Routh’s car long enough to take photos, USSS agent, and location of Trump golf party?
I am curious as to why that drawing has not been created and shown to the public.
She didn’t block his car. She followed him in her car until they stopped (at light or something?) and then took her picks and call the sheriff’s office.
If in fact, the USSS agent was just 10 feet from Routh this means that it wasn’t a “sharp eye” that prevented an assassination attempt but rather dumb luck. At 10 feet away Routh would have been hard to miss considering he was at a spot with a clearing in the foliage. I read that this hidey-hole was popular with the Paparrazi. It is where they took the photos we have seen published of Trump golfing. The Paparazzi would notify the USSS beforehand which means that the USSS knew about this giant hole in the outer ring of the security perimeter but did nothing. Yesterday I saw a statement from a USSS official saying that the security arrangments for Trump at this golf course were the same level of protection as when Trump was President so in other words they admitted they have left Trump vulnerable on that golf course for years because they don’t care if someone takes a shot at him. Finally, if the USSS agent was just 10 feet away from Routh it begs the question why didn’t his gunfire hit Routh? Is he a bad shot?

Could be possible the activity was know prior, to appear and deflect from the first attempt, in this case generating praise when in fact no target was in view, and the agent ( not running the fairway, but next to the brush – missed? this guy had to be known even to the local ladies of the evening – note his behavior on some of these videos, he is not in any fear at all.

Let me get this straight. On July 13 shots were fired a President Trump and missed. Supposedly, SWAT counter fire from 300-400 ft. away killed the gunman. Crime scene sanitized by FBI and SS. Body cremated. Physical evidence destroyed.
This time SS accidentally discovers a sniper from 10 FEET AWAY and MISS the target.
My first reaction was that this second attempt might have been SS setting up a sniper (inside job) and deliberately sabotaging the sniper, thereby attempting to repair a severely damaged SS image. Then later to be followed up by another (real) inside job attempt on Trump.

What did he know? Maybe nothing much. Normal channels gave him a normal task. He might barely or not know his handlers. Was given cash and dates and locations and times, with only brief narrative, maybe even by dead drop. He possessed the low tech required. Done.

Having been on security sweeps overseas, here is how I see it happened.
Routh was setup outside fence line but behind bushes. He saw SS walking the fence line coming around the inner fence line of the course.
He leaves his weapon with the barrel already placed through the fence and takes off prior to SS even coming up on him. SS from 10-15ft away notices the barrel as he’s likely abt to trip over it and fires the 4 shots into the bushes hitting no one.
Routh left everything there because he knew he’d look awfully suspicious walking away with a weapon in the DAY time. Remember he set up at night when no one saw him toting a rifle and plates into the bushes.
The ss agent missed from 10ft. The perp was wearing a pink shirt – not camo. He might as well have worn a traffic orange in the green bushes. Was the miss intentional? If the woman didn’t get his tag he may never have been caught. Why did he not try to conceal himself better? Had to ask
So why is Routh still alive, or isn’t at least wounded? Come on! This whole episode stinks.

Unfortunately, they are desperate, insular, unaccountable, and thus subject to do absolutely anything. So explosion, poison, aircraft failure… these would all be on the table.

Joe Biden said something like Trump needs a bullseye or target on his head then later on he said something like “bullet box” instead of ballot box. The Secret Service has always been ahead of a golfing President, and the man who saw the barrel of Rouch’s gun did exactly what they’re trained to do. Except, I was faulting him for missing when I thought it was a long shot, but now knowing he was only ten feet away and he missed? I understand the nature of seeing a threat, reaction time to get his rifle up and take a shot, but if he didn’t have a sight picture, what was he shooting at? From seeing the barrel he could instinctively judge a body position, and he should have hit it at least once.
Does Secret Service no longer go to the range? I know they do, but with the cries about budget, maybe they’ve been limited in their practice rounds. Do they have a “Kill House”, or other training scenarios where there reactions and actions are judged?
Thankfully, shooting in the direction of Rouch scared him away, but I cannot put my head around him missing.

Further, as a civilian (and a white hetero veteran at that), if I fired at somebody pointing a muzzle at me–and my marksmanship was better than the USSS officer, what would happen to ME?
As long as the fbi is controlling the investigation(s) the real truth will not be known. After all why would they want everyone to know that it’s our very government that’s behind these attempts. IF YOU CONTROL THE INVESTIGATION YOU CONTROL THE OUTCOME.
