The second presidential debate of the 2024 election year, but the first debate between President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris takes place tonight in Philadelphia, hosted by ABC News at 9:00pm ET.
The entire corporate media system has been assisting the Kamala Harris campaign to establish a preferential narrative while simultaneously covering Harris’s exit from all prior positions. Harris has been prepping with the Obama team, and she is expected to play the race and gender card as much as possible.

Trump was in the spin room quoting numbers from somewhere all > 70% in his favor. He repeated them in his discussion with Hannity. Notice the admins in Fox didn’t quote them spontaneously. Trump is counteracting the controlled opposition of Fox.

Honestly, Trump is not the best debater because he’s not a politician. Then there’s the moderator bias.
That being said non politically focused people base debate assessments on the first 20 to 30 minutes, how likeable they find the candidate, and the party they identify with whether they watch politics or not.
Trump could be perceived as the winner by many viewers due to Kamala’s unlikeable traits and the moderators looking like bullies. Don’t be surprised if Trump does better out of this than you think.

Given the attention span challenges of many viewers, I just wish what Trump said in his closing he also had said in his opening, like good church preachers do in a sermon. Still, if Trump’s goal was to hammer home on the open border, failed economy, and the threat of WW3 due to incompetent foreign policy, he achieved that. He didn’t win on style points but he did win on substance points. I hope the independent voters are smart enough to see this.
Its fascinating to notice how many people STILL use outdated and no longer useful criteria for scoring current year debates.
It reminds me of warriors armed with bows and arrows trying to defeat adversaries armed with guns and cannons.

I think all these debate polls (Trump winning them) are more about the pulse of the nation on who they support….not who won the debate.
I think the debate, itself, as far as how they came across was a wash.
The substance (Trump won) was only material if you were already knowledgeable on the issues.
The debates purpose == testing and energizing “the nations pulse”.
Strongest Pulse == most support == won the debate
The ONLY winning that matters is winning enuf THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE Votes to become POTUS.
