The second presidential debate of the 2024 election year, but the first debate between President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris takes place tonight in Philadelphia, hosted by ABC News at 9:00pm ET.
The entire corporate media system has been assisting the Kamala Harris campaign to establish a preferential narrative while simultaneously covering Harris’s exit from all prior positions. Harris has been prepping with the Obama team, and she is expected to play the race and gender card as much as possible.
The debate is being simulcast by multiple media outlets, carried on PBS and broadcast on Newsmax as well as other alternative platforms. A few of those livestream options are presented below.

The “surprised” reactions of many here are likely the result of never having listened to Ms. Harris speak – not that I blame any for that. I have and was not surprised one little bit that she did not play the pinata for PDJT. She is not quite the cackling dimwit airhead that she has been painted to be. Her team focused on personality not policy. PDJT held his own and got in some good shots. All in all a win for PDJT.
I would never in a million years give this Communist pretender the respect of calling her “Ms. Harris.”

I have scrolled thru pages of these remarks and I see many who are pretending, falling into the same trap our President fell into. She used his tactics against him, using lies and insults so he spent time responding instead of using facts to undermine her. Facts like the staggering #’s of abortions used as birth control, and how many of those were blacks. Facts that it IS a state issue, rightfully returned to the states under the Constitution. Facts like the sheer #’s of illegals being allowed by the border czar and the administration she is a part of, contrasted with his administration #’s using existing laws, no new law necessary. Add that the new law would have approved 5000 of certain ethnic illegals through daily! Facts that the administration she is a part of, on their 1st day in office, removed limitations he had put in place to allow the surge of entries at the border. Cite the #’s. There were several missed opportunities to highlight it is the Bidenomics that she is on video celebrating that has caused inflation to be at (XYZ) contrasted against inflation during his administration. Turn that Charlottesville lie back on the moderators to fact check it like they tried to do to him on the Springfield pet story. Speak to the policies he has made public, use the podium to highlight what he is planning to do, the #’s of rallies and interviews he has given, contrasted against hers. So yes, there were missed opportunities to use facts rather than unspecific protests. We know the facts but there were many in the viewing audience who know only the propaganda the msm spews. And we know critical thinking skills are not being used by too many of the indoctrinated. Lastly, don’t be like the left in attacking anyone on here who dares say anything critical of his performance on the debate. Its not helpful and frankly reeks of pretending.
There is legitimate criticism and there is something else.
My only answer to the (rare) legitimate criticism is of course, there were missed opportunities – there always are. But not a single one of the critics has started with acknowledging the 3-versus-1 cage match that this was.
Every one I’ve read has started right off into what PDJT “shoulda” said with no recognition of that simple fact.
Ausonius pointed out the actually non-pretending reality above. This was in no way a legitimate debate.
Therefore all the so-called criticism is ringing hollow with everyone here who recognizes that foundational fact.
And it started ringing especially hollow at many other online outlets last night.
It was frustrating even when he pushed back with the right answers because of the way they got lost in defensiveness and lack of specifics. His attempts at countering complex mainstreamed lies with facts that cannot be proven to the uninformed within the limits of a debate stage were non-strategic moves.

The debate through “our” eyes (those of us on this board who are informed):
Kamala (as expected) lied through her teeth, using scripted pre-prepared lies. Likely was given the debate questions in advance. Her facial theatrics were infuriating and showed how phony she is. ABC showed how biased the mainstream media is.
The debate through “normie” eyes: Lies, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Everything I heard seemed correct, and is consistent with what I see on my regular news outlets. Trump seemed agitated and emotional – especially when I turned off the sound and watched the body language. Maybe he is a threat. Kamala seemed composed and Presidential.
My conclusion (FWIW): Unforced errors on Trump’s part. That she would lie with a straight-face and try to get under his skin was more than predictable, and that the ABC moderators would run interference for her likewise predictable. Trump should have been better prepared with short, concise ripostes for her anticipated lies. That would have caused her to start to lose confidence in her script and get shaken; instead Trump was playing defense most of the time and to the uninitiated likely appeared shaken and unsteady.
How this will affect the campaign results remains to be seen. But last night could have been the proverbial kill-shot for the Kamala campaign; instead she walked away with more wind in her sails (at least for the short term).

Number of registered voters in US in 2022: 161.42
Nielsen figures (which are self-reported and therefore vulnerable to fudging) claim 51 million watched that debate. Even if 100% of those were registered voters which is virtually impossible it would be just 32% of all registered voters in the US and considering that many of those 51 million viewers weren’t registered voters (i.e., household numbers), the number of voting viewers was even less than 32% when 61% had told the survey they were very to somewhat likely to watch.
And I think debate viewer numbers themselves are very likely inflated because people may say they watched because they think it was their duty to do so.
I’d love to find a well done survey (i.e., done as scientifically as possible) that asks whether anyone actually changed who they were voting for after a “debate.” With two candidates as radically different as Trump/Harris, I’d guess that would be near zero.
So, I think many surveys are crap, debate viewer numbers claimed are crap, and the significance of political debates in our dumbed down, attention deficit political idiocracy is WAY overblown. Both sides of the UniParty just WANT to make you think that they are SO important. Same for State of the Union bloviations.
As I warned about prior to the Trump-Biden debate, if Biden did poorly it would allow the Dims and their lapdog media to “suddenly realize” that Biden was senile and swap in the prepositioned PC/woke candidate – minority female – at the last minute to help her with the stealth campaign she’s been running.
Trump should have waited until AFTER Biden was officially nominated to trap him in that spot since the 25th is a far more difficult way to remove Biden than Biden being forced from running and stepping down PLUS the 25th route would have put Harris in the WH which would have made her stealth campaign for 2024 impossible.
SO, THAT debate was highly useful for the Dims.
But what if Trump has a plan to make things appear that way with Kamala for the time being?

Despite it being 3 on 1, and Trump being fact-checked like 7 times while Harris was telling some major whoppers without any fact-checking, I don’t believe Trump lost any supporters last night. And I don’t think Harris lost any of hers either. The only thing about the debate that I am hopeful for is that more of the wafflers/people on the fence come Trump’s way to increase the “too big to rig” numbers. I did see some clips from CNN and CBS post-debate where they were talking to undecided voters and 3 of them said they would vote Trump. I’m not sure what the others in the video said as the clips were cut to only show those 3 people’s comments.

Retired Magistrate here: I have not watched the entire debate yet; just the last two minutes where President Trump made his closing argument/summation. It was excellent.
Just like a jury trial; jurors really remember the closing argument as it sums up the big picture of what the trial was all about. President Trump had the last word and that is what people will remember.
There are close to 3000 comments on this thread and so many are critical of President Trump. Your criticism makes me weary and I wonder about your motives.
Bottom line-there are 5 truthful takeaways from the debate:
1. There’s a month and a half until the election. This debate will be forgotten in a week.
2. The debate moderators were openly Team Kamala. She lied for 90 minutes and never once directly answered a question, but the moderators never challenged her. Rigged 2020 election and rigged 2024 debate.
3. This debate won’t change anyone’s opinion. Stupid people who are Kamala supporters will still support her. America loving patriots will still support Trump.
4. Madam Roundheels did her debate. She will now disappear until November. Start putting her picture on milk cartons right away because she’s already gone into “Missing Mode.” Ignore her “demand” for another debate. She and her team will never let that happen.

I just listened to Trump’s closer and it was very good.

This debate was to help form a decision in the DNC and/or IC. The Biden Trump debate was precisely for that purpose. Biden failed badly and justified in the eyes of the Democrat supporters the necessity to replace him. Kamala is not their first choice. They will decide if she was “sellable” to the Democrat voters or not. But they DO want to replace her but not if it would be dangerous to their interests if they did.
She was set up to fail but she was clearly trained to survive this debate.
This isn’t quite about the voters though… the DNC and IC are deciding things. We all know that. But they had to measure public response to decide how to move forward.
No matter what she does at this point, there is no way the Kackler can be replaced unless they go to some extreme measures if you get my drift.

The only really useful one was when, as they had planned all along, the DNC did their “big reveal” of Biden’s senility when Trump foolishly debated him BEFORE he was officially nominated which would have trapped him as their nominee. Biden being forced to drop out was a far easier route than the 25th which would have put Kamala in the WH and prevented her current stealth campaign. The Trump campaign didn’t make the same mistake twice because they refused a Harris debate until she was nominated.
BTW, the DNC knew in 2019 or even earlier that Biden was already having mental problems, so this was a long planned event that the MINORITY FEMALE was pre-positioned to take PC/woke advantage of after four years of greatly accelerated “wokeness” under Biden.

This is KISS simple, there were no new wars under Trump and people felt they were wealthier. Under Biden it’s been one blunder after another and people feel poorer. Trump did most of what he said he’d do. Kamala is flip flopping like a landed fish. But then she has always sold herself to get where she is, that’s her best attribute.

What they did to him last night was nothing to the way they set him up to be killed. That’s not the way I want to see history written in the future. She was nasty. She was non stop lying. Her grimaces and that nasal way she speaks were cringe inducing.

Harris had a low bar to hurdle and she out performed to our surprise. President Trump came off as repetitive (rally like) instead of looking into the camera and asking if Americans were better off today under Biden/Harris. That would have been a home run, didn’t happen.
President Trump is authentic. He “came off” as he is. Nothing phony about him, and I, for one, find that refreshing.
Harris is a phony and a nasty liar, who seems incapable of expressing an original thought.
I’ll take the authentic one over the polished liar every day of the week.

Not sure what you listened to but in the debate I watched, President Trump did just that.
I listened to the first hour and felt Trump was not in his best form – not focusing on the policy issues, economy, immigration, inflation, etc. and with the help of the mods Harris was avoiding her usual word salads and despite lying was making her points more effectively. I finally couldn’t take seeing Trump lose his footing against that wench so I called it a night. Trump looked and spoke very frustrated.

Great questions/observations. It’s easy to say shoulda, woulda, coulda, after the fact…especially when you’re not the one in the line of fire. President Trump was trying to survive another assassination attempt. Kamala’s performance was relative to Biden’s. It was a pretty low bar for her.
If she showed up and didn’t break out crying like a little girl she would win in the media’s eyes. Not hard for her to beat those expectations. She had a microphone in her earring that has been widely shown online and the questions were written by her DNC handlers and given to ABC. Not hard to answer questions when you already know them.
With all the help she got – from the campaign’s collusion with the ABC, to the possible earpiece, she still didn’t do well.
Beating low expectations is not winning.

What I will posit is a thought I had immediately when I watched the 3 on 1 news fest last night:
This was supposed to be a “Presidential” Debate. Therefore, I expected both Presidential Candidates to “ACT” Presidential. That did not happen, in my arrogant opinion.
Vice President Harris acted just like a young college graduate who just won her first beauty pageant when she walked out on that stage. She was not at all “Presidential” in her demeanor, while President Trump was speaking. She was constantly mocking him, chuckling at him as he spoke, guffawing like a young teenager who was so nervous, that they resorted to hee-hawing all the way through.
My first question, as I witnessed this was:
How would Putin or Xi or any other world leader deal with her during a major discussion if she displays herself in this fashion, which she would because that is WHO SHE IS….
She is a very scary person and other world leaders know that. They also know how to get around her and win at the end of the day.
I would not be surprised if the blob sees to it that we up the game on Russia and throw some nukes their way from Ukraine……………

After ALL the word salads she has said, it’s impossible to believe the person on the stage who actually could string a few thoughts together didn’t have a lot of practice responding to the questions she already was given. Donna Brazil did it to Hillary a far better speaker !
There is no way she could have done that well without the questions.
Even though Kamala looked presentable, she did not come across as authoritative and presidential.
She did not come across as somebody who could lead the country.
I think she came across as a low middle-manager and somebody you really would not want to report to.
And I think that is what will resonate with the American people.

Trump would’ve been better off halfway through the debate if he would’ve said, Show me one accomplishment that she’s done. Show me one state where she won a primary. If she was serious about doing any of these things, she would’ve had her policies posted months ago. If she was serious, she wouldn’t be flip-flopping on every issue. If she was presidential material, it wouldn’t be a three against one debate where your fact, checking my information, but not fact checking or pushing her when she doesn’t even answer your question. The fact is this debate is a complete and utter waste of time. Clearly, she got the questions in advance. She’s never been so articulate in her life, but we know that she hasn’t had one single press conference since this process began. I am talking directly to the American people. I’m talking to all the people who have been screwed over by the liberal DNC policies, you can see through the liberal media’s spin. It’s time to get to work. It’s time to throw these people out of office.

Trump did fine during the debate, considering it was three against one.
He was forceful and factual and called out Hawk Tuah Harris for all the lies she made.
She also had her nasty/ugly face on for the cameras, which alone, should turn off many voters.
Most people made up their minds about the candidates long ago, because most people are very clear about what kind of a nation they wish to live in:
(a) a free Republic governed under the Constitution and its divided government,
– or –
(b) a Marxist communist totalitarian state in which government is mom and dad all rolled into one big blob. Neither are compatible, and neither are persuadable.
I’m most interested in the views of that subset of “undecided” people who will determine the future of our nation … of civilization actually. I saw what I saw last night – it was obvious; most everyone here also saw the same thing. But how is it playing in the living rooms of the “undecideds”? I don’t know, yet. That’s why I read the comments, for these eclectic views, also sometimes for helpful links that measure such things. I want to know what these people are thinking.
The win needs to be a massive tidal wave that flushes all fraud and deceit and illegals and industrial scale ballot manufacturing into the sea – as Trump himself has warned us it needs to be. Those middle of the roaders are crucial to our future.
As far as I’m concerned, I won the debate because I didn’t watch it.
The Prog Left never lacks for amusing contradictions.
They basically act/plan on the generalization that the public has a short term memory and is easily distracted.
But they then seem to believe short term optics like the debate last night can have lasting impacts.
The only thing they got out of last night was avoidance of a Biden like self-immolation.
Bottom line – I will still be voting for Trump as the alternative is a horror show. I think all other Trump supporters are not going to switch to KaBama. Most undecided as of Sept 9 are likely going to vote for KaBama after this debate.
It is clear that KaBama spent the last 2 month rehearsing with the questions & answers that they provided to ABC. Obama did a great job teaching Harris how to say all the magical talking points. The sheep will love all her comments that media will play nonstop for next 55 days. There is no point of her doing any further debates or interviews since there is only downside.
Trump did no preparation and was baited into the defense on every question. I wish he would have talked more about his actual performance as past president & how this is good for all Americans. Too many unforced errors and media clips of him being “unhinged” that will play nonstop until elections. Add in JD Pence and RFK Jr and it is a uphill battle to overcome the massive cheating on Nov 5.
