Senator Tom Cotton appears on the CNN show State of The Union with Dana Bash. Apparently, the joint U.S. State Dept./CNN production team in control of setting election year objectives have decided to resuscitate the “Russia, Russia, Russia” election conspiracy.
After an initial question about Liz and Dick Cheney endorsing Kamala Harris, CNN host Dana Bash then spent the next several minutes questioning Tom Cotton about reports that Russia is funding various alternative information podcasters and pundits.
Perhaps by now everyone should know the Russian government laugh at how the U.S. media push the ridiculous accusations about Russian interference. The Russians know how to snark toward the U.S. government as controlled by Democrats. This insufferable election interference narrative gives the Moscow gremlins a lot of smiles, as they look upon the proverbial western media selling a story that to them is quite funny.
Senator Cotton does a good job refuting the claims by CNN; however, it is worthwhile remembering that outside of the USA the majority of the world look upon CNN as the “state news” distribution for Washington DC. What the MSM is trying to stifle is any mention of the FAILED BIDEN-HARRIS POLICIES, including illegal migrants and illegal migrant crime, inflation, increasing violent crime, rising deficits. By claiming these are the subjects that the MSM is claiming the Russians want discussed, the inference is they are all “Russian Disinformation,” like HUNTER BIDEN’S laptop. To counter:
A more interesting response to this whole thing covers the possibility that Putin actually did arrange for this, just like he supposedly arranged for the Cozy Bear and Fancy Bear intrusions into the DNC’s cardboard network 2015 and 2016:
It is pretty hard to get people to shut up about inflation and migrant criminal behavior when ordinary people go to the grocery store and the gas station all the time, and we are getting frequent reports of migrants raping and murdering young American girls and sometimes insulting their remains by dumping them somewhere. So, what was Putin’s reason for spending millions of dollars to induce people to discuss these things which they were already discussing AT NO COST TO PUTIN? There are clues in the alleged “hacks” of the DNC.
The Cozy Bear hack started in the spring of 2015 after Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy for President and a few weeks later she fell under DOJ/FBI investigation for classified documents as attachments to emails on her unsecured/under secured email system. The FBI allegedly discovered that Cozy Bear was inside the DNC network, but failed to take any strong measures despite the 2014 intelligence report about Russian plans to interfere in Western nations’ elections was made public. The election intelligence was obtained by John Brennan just as the news of the alleged CIA hack of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, during the CIA Torture Investigation, landed Brennan in a big scandal the media could not ignore. Ali Watkins was the first to report about the allegations about Russia’s planned election interference being discovered in 2014.

Despite the knowledge that Russia was planning to interfere in our elections, the FBI took a hands off approach to the Cozy Bear hack of the DNC, relying on the security consultant hired by the DNC to find Cozy Bear’s malware on the DNC network. No evidence of Cozy Bear’s presence was found in 2015, which gave the Russian SVR or FSB a virtual year to prance around in the flimsy DNC network, including sitting on the DNC phone system on a daily basis.
In 2016, the Russian GRU’s Fancy Bear showed up inside the DNC network. Why Putin needed two of his intel agencies in there, when Cozy Bear already had all the control anyone could want without being caught to the Russians’ knowledge, has never been explained. What is most interesting is that, as former DNC Chair Donna Brazile described Fancy Bear’s arrival in the DNC network as being like a “bull in a China shop,” almost like GRU wanted everyone to know they were in the network. The DNC finally hired a security firm, CrowdStrike, to go inside the network and see what was going on. That was when Cozy Bear’s malware was finally found, but the DNC would not allow CrowdStrike to remove the Internet connection during the period the emails were stolen. The excuse for ordering the STAND DOWN by CrowdStrike was that there were more primaries scheduled, and the DNC executives didn’t mind Russians in their network until the primaries were over. Believe it or not.
The argument that can be made here is that Putin, if he ordered GRU to hack the DNC, was to let the DNC know they were hacked since Cozy Bear already got the intel Putin was after months before. Now, the reality of Russian hacks could be spun in a way that would REALLY be the manipulation of the election, or just sow more discord among Americans as a result of the Russian activity becoming public, as one campaign would get accused of being Putin’s favored candidate’s campaign.
So, here we are in 2024, and Putin did something else stupid that was easily detected and cast suspicion on one campaign as opposed to the other. Putin is again accused of helping Donald Trump and some supporters of his on the Internet are being accused of helping Putin.
Funny, but Putin didn’t come up in 2020 with the exception of our own Intelligence Community claiming the Hunter Biden laptop story was “Russian Disinformation.” It turned out that Anthony Blinken asked some of the IC people, like Mike Morrell, to make the claim that the laptop was more of Putin’s work. Putin was entirely AWOL from “interfering” in the 2020 election, which was described as the “fairest and most secure election ever,” shortly after Biden won. WHY? Rather, what we should be asking is whether or not Putin was EVER involved in such things, or whether our own IC arranged ALL of them, or at least TWO of them, the Fancy Bear “hack” and the Hunter Biden laptop.
Another possibility is that there are times when Moscow and DC actually cooperate on some level or other. After all, the only thing all of these incidents have in common is TRUMP IS THE ONE WHO HAS HIS CAMPAIGN DAMAGED by any of them. It is always the DEMOCRATS who receive the advantage from all of them.

Cotton should have probably brought up the fact that Dana’s former husband was one of the intelligence operatives who lied about the Hunter laptop. Jeremy Bash, Panetta‘s former chief of staff-turned-MSNBC security analyst, was appointed by Biden on August 29, 2022 to a prestigious gig on the Intelligence Advisory Board.
