Pavel Durov and his brother Nikolai are genuinely brilliant tech programmers, mathematicians and entrepreneurs. The Durov brothers founded the Telegram communication app in 2013. Telegram now has 950 million active users who can send messages, photos and videos, take part in chats for groups of up to 200,000 people and broadcast to unlimited audiences.
Telegram is the preferred messaging and communication app for those concerned with privacy. In my own travels, plans and purposeful interactions, I use Telegram frequently. It is the best communication tool available, and the tech interface is brilliant. However, various government agencies hate Telegram because of the privacy it provides.
Pavel and Nikolai Durov are originally Russian; their app was created and tested deep inside the surveillance state. The Russian government could not compromise it, and Pavel’s unwavering perspective on private communication has been thoroughly tested in subsequent years. Telegram is a success because Pavel Durov has proven he is trustworthy.
Pavel Durov was just arrested by the French government for refusing to compromise on the user privacy of his app.
ReclaimTheNet – […] Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of the encrypted messaging app Telegram, was arrested this Saturday evening, according to French media.
The incident occurred at Le Bourget Airport just as Durov, accompanied by a bodyguard and a woman, disembarked from his private jet. Durov, who holds dual Franco-Russian citizenship and is 39 years old, had just arrived from Azerbaijan.
The arrest was executed by members of the GTA (Gendarmerie of Air Transport), acting on a French search warrant. This warrant, issued by the OFMIN of the national directorate of the French judicial police, was based on allegations that Telegram’s operational policies — specifically its lack of censorship and lack of cooperation with law enforcement’s censorship demands, along with features such as disposable phone numbers and cryptocurrency transactions — indirectly support illicit activities.
Emphasis below, mine!
[…] The arrest of Durov marks a major escalation in the global debate over the balance between privacy and security, and could have profound implications across multiple dimensions:
Legal Precedent: This incident could set a legal precedent for how nations handle the regulation of encrypted communication platforms. If Durov is prosecuted for the actions of users on his platform, it might lead to increased pressure on other tech companies to monitor and control user behavior, potentially compromising the commitment to user privacy.
Government Surveillance and Privacy: The case highlights the tension between government surveillance and individual privacy rights. Governments may use this incident as a justification to demand greater access to encrypted communications, arguing that it’s necessary for national security and law enforcement. This could lead to broader legal and regulatory changes that erode privacy protections in digital spaces. (read more)
In the wake of the attempted assassination of President Trump, we have already seen the professionals in DC start the process to outlaw private communication apps like Telegram. {See Here} The Intelligence Community would like to remove the ability of Americans to communicate privately without the government intercepts.
The BASELINE – The Durov brothers are exceptionally gifted. In reference to the principle of freedom and liberty that guides Pavel, he has my respect, and I understand his value system with great clarity. Pavel Durov recognized very early, much earlier than most, that information would be fulcrum challenge, and without private communication the value of information is always eroded. Privacy is critical in order for accurate information to flow. That is the value of Telegram.
Durov controls Telegram. Durov is the owner and proprietor of Telegram. Durov talks openly about the *touches* from U.S. intelligence and government officials toward him and his communication platform. He is very open about the contacts by FBI and various intel officials, and notes those conversations were always unnerving.
Elon Musk controls Twitter. Elon Musk was talking about the importance of user privacy and security at the exact same time he was secretly complying with the DOJ to give the metadata of all Donald Trump supporters from his platform. These things do not reconcile, and I refuse to pretend the conflict between Musk’s words and his actions doesn’t exist. When he first bought the platform, Elon Musk promised that Direct Messages (DM’s) on Twitter would be encrypted. After the first few stories about DHS controlling Twitter content, ie “the Twitter Files”, Musk never followed through.
“This situation [with Pavel Durov] is a litmus test for the future of digital privacy, encryption, and the role of tech companies in moderating content and cooperating with law enforcement. The global implications of how this case is handled are significant, potentially affecting not only the tech industry but also the privacy rights of individuals worldwide.”

You and I both have the password, to access an email. I write and save IN DRAFT, never actually sending it, a message.
You read and delete.
Secure comms, at your finger tips, as the message never actually goes over the internet.
and, could be 50 people, all able to access the same email address.
The fallacy in this method is the assumption that both ‘you and I’ have unbreakable secure channels to the email server – that cannot be intercepted, recorded, and thus eventually decoded. It also ignores the fact that if the info is on the email provider’s server – it can also be compromised (either with their cooperation, or without).
Truly secure communications are incredibly difficult – because there is no such thing (at least yet) as an unbreakable encryption algorithm. Hard to break? Yes. But even the most difficult will succumb eventually – given enough time to analyze both the traffic and the content. This is an uncomfortable truth. At best, we can make it so difficult to ‘break’ that the cost is too high to spend on all but the most dangerous threats.
The whole ‘secure communications’ problem is akin to the old adage that ‘Two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead.’.

Distressing.

Seems to me I watched an interview between Pavel and Tucker early this year. He was a very interesting person. He owns very few personal possessions. Doesn’t own a house/home or vehicle. I think it was more like he can leave with a suitcase.

Just his private jet.
“The lives of others” should be required watching.

Apparently, the leftists in Hollywood learned nothing from this film. I take that back. They learned how to do the dastardly things the film cautioned against.
¡Spoiler Alert!
I am reminded of the animated feature “Watership Down” in 1978. The premonition of the field of blood and rabbit death scarred my mind as a 4 year-old.

So, if you own some sort of an establishment or business (say like a coffee shop, “Cheers”, etc.) that people visit to gather and share conversation, ideas, fellowship, etc. and you don’t monitor, record, restrict, or censor their conversations, and you don’t cooperate with law enforcement censorship demands, isn’t that indirectly supporting illicit activities? And notice that they don’t say “illegal” activities! I hope there’s a special place in hell for these government people.

This is exactly what happened to the software development company Inslaw in 1986 in a scandal that has become known as the Inslaw affair.
For years, the Inslaw affair has captivated those who have examined every detail of the case or followed the mysterious fate of investigative journalist Danny Casolaro, who met his tragic end shortly after investigating its depths.”
Is there a list anywhere of all the journalists who have died under suspicious circumstances?
In preliminary searches about the late Michael Hastings I found many references to other deceased journalists, most of whom I’d never heard of before.

I don’t know of any such list but the name Phil Haney, a former DHS whistleblower, who was found dead in a commuter lot in CA. Rumor has it he was working on a new book, wore a thumb drive on a chain around his neck, that had all his government secrets. He was engaged to be married, and the CA cops and Feds tried to say he committed suicide. The handwriting on the suicide note found in his RV, does not match Phil’s handwriting.

This incident will quickly define who our friends and enemies are. Who stands up for and willing to fight for Durov and who is silent or passive and do nothing.
US is behind Durov’s arrest – senior Russian officialThe arrest of the Telegram founder in France is the direct result of Washington’s sanctions, Ekaterina Mizulina has said
The US ordered the French authorities to arrest Telegram founder Pavel Durov as part of its sanctions framework, Ekaterina Mizulina, the head of Russia’s Safe Internet League and a member of the Civic Chamber, has claimed.
Now carry that thought out to its inevitable conclusion.
If the US government is ordering other nations to arrest who they tell them to and they are complying – then quid pro quo results in the US government arresting whoever those nations tell them to. (for example, the UK…for having the nerve to be honest about politicians)

Censorship or international digital dirtybusiness. Organized crime has gone high tech, dark web’s out there.
The globalists are getting ever more worried. Their One World project is slipping away from them. They will become increasingly more dangerous as their end gets nearer. We must continue to be vigilant and prepared. They are zealots and will stop at nothing to hold on to their dream.

I’m a little late to this, but for good reason — I’ve just safely departed from Europe.
France has threatened Rumble, and now they have crossed a red line by arresting Telegram’s CEO, Pavel Durov, reportedly for not censoring speech.
Rumble will not stand for this behavior and will use every legal means available to fight for freedom of expression, a universal human right. We are currently fighting in the courts of France, and we hope for Pavel Durov’s immediate release.
Quick recap starting in the second half of the twentieth century, according to some:
America started declining with the massive shift precipitated by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which started replacing meritocracy with forced identity class quotas in all areas.
The Chinese seized the opportunity to outwork us for below-market rates and lure profit-oriented industry away, the hollowing out of US industry took off in the 1980s and is irreversible now as China is the new dominant global industrial supply chain engine. This is the underpinnings of the US decline that “must be managed”.
The Patriot Act started us down the path toward surveillance/police state totalitarianism, and it seems 9/11 was part of the Plan. (See ae911truth.org) Some suggest that this was a pivot executed as part of “managing the decline”.
Internet/tech wove us into a complete surveillance/control panopticon.
And now, some suggest that while the rising globalist censorship and propaganda are indeed serious threats to liberty, they are also just one of multiple insidious tectonics in motion driven by the US government as part of the “managing the decline”, including ballooning debt, economic crushing of middle and working classes by inflation, gradual decimation of energy and transportation infrastructure based on anthropogenic CO2 climate falsehoods, destruction of education and everything else by DIE, simultaneously weakening the military and pushing for major war which cannot be won without strong industry, and blighting the populace with bio-pharma poisons.
One may start to wonder if the “alarm theater”, including things like the Durov arrest, is amplified to keep everyone so alarm-overloaded and anxious that the tectonics continue to their apparent end-state goal without interference.
Continuing the view of the rising globalist censorship/propaganda controls as part of an overall program to manage the decline of the US /West toward a totalitarian end state:
Have you noticed a substantial increase in destitute people in your area?
Along with other signs of serious overall societal degradation?
Look around.
The Patriot Act of 2001 was preceded by the The Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996.
I am a broken record here. I concede being too singularly focused on this event.
The Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995(Prologue combo of Ruby Ridge & Waco) is the nexus point of our recent history. The Clinton Whitewater papers were in the Murrah Building. Any Clinton dirt leads to the Bush family and Mena, AK/Iran-Contra Affair.
The Bush family & the Clintons have been working together this whole time.
Some observers suggest that the apparent political corruption involving figures like Clintons, is a form of Limited Hangout veiling the much greater tectonics in motion.
Further suggesting that while events before and after 9/11 have played a part in the US movement toward a totalitarian surveillance/police state, 9/11 was the major pivot toward bringing such a state upon the US.
And that the assertions of ae911truth.org reveal something very important to understand about this pivotal event in the march toward such a state.
Consider the recent flurry of censorship moves against Durov and others in this larger context. There is in fact apparently a much greater global movement toward a de facto global totalitarian system, and the US is very much a part of this.
Robert Malone touches on part of it here:
https://www.malone.news/p/rf-kennedy-jr-and-political-realignment
The Uniparty is pushing to
“…restructure both the federal government and the global network of US power and alliances to align and transition into a globalized socialist/corporatist governance structure. “
They beat Walz to it?
copy pasting this from a well regarded tech site/comments:
“If a communication is end-to-end encrypted, the platform has no ability to moderate the content. If a post is public, then moderation is possible, but difficult to do. Which is it?”
again, what I am suggesting is that telegram may NOT BE AS SECURE AS IT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED.
the only OTHER explanation is that someone within the bowels of telegram itself has been coerced to provide some inside knowledge that criminal activity has been going on or willfully permitted/complicity, but then that also raises the issue at the core of this : is it truly end to end encryption or isn’t it. For if it is truly end to end encryption even insiders would not have access to the communications…not even know where to find it.
see the problem?
Some have suggested (without evidence, but through hypothesis from deduction), that there is some OTHER legal issue here…perhaps that telegram is engaged or has knowingly allowed some kind of criminal activity not necessary developed from end to end encryption but rather providing access to known criminal orgs…like drug cartels, or perhaps even gasp…Russian orgs and assets who might be using the telegram app to conduct business or perhaps even war related communications. KNOWING what they are discussing by decryphering end to end may not even be the key legal violation, rather that telegram has provided its “services” to those who might be “on the list” so to speak.
will wait for the indictment and read out. provided the “French authorities” are willing to provide one publicly. ole DOJ isn’t the only agency that ‘does not discuss ongoing investigations, doncha know!
God Bless America
france can take a step back and literally eff their own face.
.
Just an aside: there is no “end-to-end encryption” where the devices on which a message is sent or received can see it before it’s encrypted. By the end of this year, probably all major mobile devices.
True encryption security requires that a message be encrypted in an off-line device before it is uploaded and transmitted, and then not un-encrypted until only trusted recipients first download it to another off-line device.
.
that is a very important point. to expand. the moment I use my voice or the screen or mouse to ENTER a message, that part IS NOT ENCRYPTED. it is trafficked to an encryption process, but there is for brief moment when the message itself, the communication is not encrypted. this is where root level, or kernel level malware becomes an issue. or even a backdoor to the encryption tpm is whatever process or processor or software is being used. During THAT moment, one cannot reliably assume that some man in the middle hack is operating to salt the packets or to undermine otherwise the encryption process.
another issues that is not all devices are made equal. some only perform RSA level 128 bit encryption which “might” appear to be very good deep encryption but it really isn’t. It is hard to decrypt but there are methods. the point is that 512 bit encryption does exist and its magnitudes of order more difficult to hack…but the reality is that most processors and software does not use that level of encryption.
furthermore, we have to assume that quantum processors are being used in real time by the NSA and all of the IC contractor shops.
there is also another point that most people do not understand. I call it the porsche in the parking lot problem. a Porsche stands out. it is unique and easily recognizable as very different than any other auto. So is deep encryption. the overhead in each packet is proportionally large compared relative to LESSOR encryption or none at all. This means that you don’t necessary needs to KNOW if something is encrypted, you simply need to filter for very large overhead in packets. this creates a not uncommon paradoxically problem for security …it stands out like Porsche in a parking lot.
God Bless America
There are problems with your Porsche analogy – if something is encrypted it isn’t possible to distinguish the overhead from the content. Something could simply be one of many packets transmitting a video or a picture or any number of other large items. Then there is the fact that packets over the internet are limited in size to begin with. If the encrypted packet is a short text message, it will still fall below the size of a majority of the packets travelling across the internet, particularly with the prevalence of streaming video services, be they broadcast and movies or sites like youtube and rumble, or the multitude of audio streaming services which send the largest possible size packets to begin with.
Nor is encrypted traffic some unusual event – almost all traffic on the internet today is sent as encrypted including audio, videos, programs, and most website traffic due to the use of https.
Bingo:
“True encryption security requires that a message be encrypted in an off-line device before it is uploaded and transmitted, and then not un-encrypted until only trusted recipients first download it to another off-line device.”
It became known years ago that the FIB planted hidden code on smartphones to capture data before it was encrypted and transmitted. So things like Tor and VPNs (and Telegram) can be completely bypassed by the spooks.
And Google frequently modifies Android and other low level code on phones without user knowledge. Likewise, Microsoft frequently modifies Windows and other code on Windows computers with no user knowledge of the change details. Do you think it is possible your devices can be easily compromised by spook code inserted by these mechanisms?
There is no privacy. Once we understand that, the question becomes: What is Telegram, really?
Continuing, the question “what is Telegram, really?”, if it is circumvented by spook code on user devices:
From
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/russia-calls-detained-telegram-founder-political-prisoner-demands-france-provide
comes
‘… interesting angle…
One little-known feature of this war is that the Ukrainian military largely communicates via Signal and the Russian military via Telegram.
— Yaroslav Trofimov (@yarotrof) August 24, 2024’
Which means:
Either the Russian devices are not vulnerable to US spook code insertion to exfiltrate data before it is encrypted and transmitted via Telegram;
Or:
All major powers+globalists are in fact working together behind the veil, sharing data and intel.
The many signs of a world moving toward a “multi-polar global governance” including the US, imply the latter.
In addition to the reality that OC conveyed, remember that most telegram channels are NOT encrypted or restricted and anyone can see their contents. It doesn’t require some nefarious backdoor or compromised employee to view them.
It also doesn’t require visibility into communications to apply (un)common sense and accept that some percentage of ANY secure method of communication will be used for criminal activity – be it actual crimes or those actions labeled as crimes by psychopathic officials in governments (such as the current UK cretins).
You give the government enough power and the cream of the tyrannical crop rises to the top.

Leading up to August 24, Vavilova was actively sharing photos on social media from Durov’s private jet and the various locations they visited together. This adds to evidence that we are all being played, this is all theater, and in fact we have no privacy – Telegram and the other encrypted platforms offered to the masses are compromised by the Controllers including the US spooks and kept operating as a means of surveillance and for other reasons.
Here, with this Durov drama, it would seem that “other reasons” include generating responses to add to Big Brother’s profiling.
As soon as it became known he was travelling with a female, the likelihood that it involved a honeypot type situation was fairly high. The picture of the screen in the plane makes it fairly likely IMO. There isn’t a good reason for it.
Why men (and women) continue to fall for infiltration tactics is beyond me, especially in today’s world – more so when one allows their emotions to override their logical mind.
There however remains the distinct possibility that its all a cover story and Pavol is using it to facilitate discussions…(sorry, an interview with Tucker doesn’t provide true insight into his real convictions or strengths thereof)

Did Musk buy Twitter to centralize speech so that it could be monitored? Gather all the dissenters under one roof under the guise of free speech; only to conceal the fact that back doors exist intentionally for ICs to exploit?
Anything is possible…and Elon is someone that resides in my highly suspicious basket of humans due to his past statements and actions. Rumble is no better and in some ways worse IMO as a result of their decision to require identification to submit anything, even comments, to their site.
Somewhere, years back …. I read somewhere online that the end goal in the future was merged all three:
Truth Social
TwitterX
Rumble
I have NO idea if this is still the plan
That would make sense, but it doesn’t seem to be working. It is hard to find anyone I know who actually has a Twitter account.
Communications will be traced from the DoJ & State Department to the french authorities just like with Snowden.
It is all theatre. The governments, here or abroad, rip through the encryption like a hot knife through butter. Think about it. I can send a known payload to be encrypted in their products and see the end result of the encryption. I can run their app on a virtual processor and see the app de-encrypt the payload.
This is only theatre to take away rights. That is all and that is all it ever shall be. The deep state is brilliant.
The deep state is anything but brilliant and understanding the method of encryption does absolutely nothing for you in and of itself. I can give you the decryption source code and send you a message and laugh for a long, long time as you try to decrypt it without the keys if I use a properly sized set of keys. The fact that the encrypted data is itself contained within an encrypted stream of packets for transmission provides further obfuscation and lowers the probability of your success even further if you don’t have a man in the middle view of the transmission.
Is Telegram really secure from snooping by intelligence services, or is it just secure from snooping by Western intelligence services?
Interesting question you proposed (“just secure from Western IC”). You basically raise the possibility that Telegram is a Russian government application and that Pavel is a government agent provided with a cover story in order to enable large scale adoption of the application. I would wager it unlikely – but possible.
Setting that aside, there isn’t any way to know for absolute certainty whether or not it is compromised or able to be decrypted by any entity – western or otherwise – short of using it to send an irresistible sequence of messages for which they would expose their abilities by knowing the contents (of course one would need to have ample proof stashed away that it was a test to smoke out the government in the advent that they took the bait) – and even then they would have to take the bait.
For myself, if I were of a mind to do something nefarious, would take absolutely nothing for granted. Note that simply freely speaking my mind doesn’t fall within those parameters – but it would if I was currently a citizen of the UK and planned on speaking freely about the totalitarian government populated by WEF puppets that were allowing the country to be invaded by massive numbers of people who don’t share the culture or ideals of the native citizens and are intentionally allowing the Islamic cretins to attack, rape, and kill the non-Islamic citizens while simultaneously charging and imprisoning those same non-Islamic citizens for daring to speak the truth or share their personal opinions.
Seriously, everybody!
Nothing is secure nowadays, with the one possible exception being a military grade skiff
⚖️ Telegram abides by EU laws, including the Digital Services Act — its moderation is within industry standards and constantly improving.
✈️ Telegram’s CEO Pavel Durov has nothing to hide and travels frequently in Europe.
😵💫 It is absurd to claim that a platform or its owner are responsible for abuse of that platform.
🌐 Almost a billion users globally use Telegram as means of communication and as a source of vital information.
💙 We’re awaiting a prompt resolution of this situation. Telegram is with you all.
“its moderation is within industry standards and constantly improving” – if that is TRUE, then telegram is most definitely NOT secure as the ONLY way to moderate something is to be able to see it…
Telegram is headquartered in Dubai, although the company appointed a Belgian legal representative earlier this year to manage its compliance with EU law. Telegram has also complied with the bloc’s anti-Russian sanctions by blocking access to Russian news outlets, including RT.
However, Durov has consistently refused to hand over user data to law enforcement agencies, or to install so-called ‘backdoors’ so that these agencies can surveil conversations on the app. Speaking to RT on Sunday, Durov’s former spokesman suggested that French authorities could have made the arrest on behalf of the US, after Durov publicly accused American intelligence agencies of pressuring him into giving them access to Telegram user data.
US trampling on free speech – David Sacks on Durov’s arrest
Washington specifically used France to bypass its First Amendment in cracking down on Telegram’s founder, the renowned investor has suggested
The US has violated its own constitutional freedoms by forcing its NATO ally France to arrest Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, American investor David Sacks has suggested.
Sacks was a co-founder of PayPal, and the platform’s Chief Operating Officer for some 18 years. He is a member of the so-called ‘PayPal Mafia’ who founded a series of other successful tech companies, and has been an angel investor in Facebook, Uber, Rumble, Scribd, Slack and SpaceX.
In April, Sacks denounced a US law that would ban the video-sharing platform TikTok if its China-based developer ByteDance refused to sell it within 12 months. At the time, the investor suggested that after the crackdown on TikTok, Telegram, X and the video platform Rumble could end up in Washington’s crosshairs.

I’m guessing, ‘swallow’
Moscow calls out Western human rights groups over Durov arrest
When the Telegram messaging app had legal issues in Russia, its founder remained free, the foreign ministry’s spokeswoman noted
Zakharova, who took to Telegram on Sunday, recalled how in 2018 a group of 28 NGOs, including Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Freedom House and Reporters Without Borders, condemned a Russian court decision to block Telegram in the country.
Those NGOs demanded that Moscow “stop creating obstacles to Telegram’s operations” at the time and guarantee the rights of users to publish and anonymously consume information online, she wrote.
They called upon the UN, the Council of Europe, the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe), the EU, the US and other governments to resist Russia’s move and protect the fundamental rights of freedom of expression and privacy, the spokeswoman recalled.
Zakharova reminded the NGOs that Moscow had legal issues with Telegram over the technical parameters of its encryption system, like many other countries. “Meanwhile, Durov remained free all this time, continuing to develop Telegram,” she stressed.
“What do you think, will they [the NGOs] appeal to Paris this time and demand Durov’s release, or will they swallow their tongues?” the spokeswoman asked her audience.
Is Trump aware of this? “Elon Musk controls Twitter. Elon Musk was talking about the importance of user privacy and security at the exact same time he was secretly complying with the DOJ to give the metadata of all Donald Trump supporters from his platform. “
What about that bill of rights amendment that states no unlawful searches and seizures? Get a damn search warrant.
Doesn’t apply worldwide, only here in the good old FUSSA. Unless it’s a Nation Security issue, in which case – all bets are off.
Everything is a NSI, its time this was tested in the courts. Contrary to popular belief, we can handle the truth.
It is my understanding that the Founding Fathers anticipated “national security issues” when they wrote out the 4th Amendment.
Durov founded Telegram after he was ousted from VK for refusing to hand user data over to the Russian government. Now, he is once again being targeted for the same reason, this time by the French government.
Durov has proven himself to be man of principles. He will not bend to demands for censorship, no matter which government is the one making them.
May God protect him.

In later information from Telegram channel Rybar:
“The operation to “tame” Telegram, apparently, was pre-agreed and planned, since a few days before Durov’s arrest, large American conservative channels faced bans in mobile apps and blocking of personal accounts of the owners.
Due to the most likely temporary problem with the lack of messenger keys, the following scheme was used: “troll farms” were massively hired (mostly consisting of volunteers from various left-liberal organizations that flooded Twitter), through which reports were thrown at one or another channel/account.
There are also big questions about what the moderators who satisfied such suspicious and massive complaints were guided by.
It is noteworthy that this was happening not only in the USA: inconvenient channels are being eliminated in the same way in Great Britain.

They want to control Durovs and Telegram.
I was quite alarmed to learn that the US Navy radio operators were no longer using Morse Code – they communicated through the computers!
I don’t know how long that has been going on -I learned about it from a neighbor whose husband was a radio operator (on a submarine) for the US Navy – not sure if she meant that was happening as far back as when he was, I think he retired in 1983 – or if that is a relatively new thing – I guess I could look it up on Google – okay! Good grief, 1999 Morse Code was no longer used by the US Navy.
my Dad was a radio operator/CPO on an ocean-going tug during WWII in the South Pacific – he was already a HAM operator at home, growing up – he was actually getting my grandmother to take him to the radio store when he was five years old, to buy parts to build his own radio – as to Morse Code, he did not learn that in school, he was self-taught. My grandmother was a mathematics major and I think “home schooled” him in that and everything else he knew before he even got to school.
No more Morse Code, no more cursive . . . I think I am detecting a pattern here!
My Dad was born in 1924, Grandmother started taking him to the radio store when he was 5 – 1929 – so he was really into radio all that time before the war started for us after Pearl Harbor in 1941 – having learned Morse Code of course already and everything else he could learn about radio communications and building radios.
I wrote my Rep this morning. If you are similarly inclined, feel free to use any of this if you think it helpful…

World Wars I and II began in Europe and thankfully for freedom, the U.S. got involved. A new war has begun in Europe. It is an even greater threat to freedom, so we’d better get involved.
The legacy corporate media has become mere shills for leftism, enabling the socialists in our government to deceive the public with great effect. Which means that the First Amendment, to survive, must live among the people. It lives there through platforms like X, Rumble and Telegram.
Totalitarians have always known that perception is the key to their survival, and that perception is shaped by communication, so communication must be controlled. That effort is well underway in the U.K., France and the U.S. Those who piously claim that the public must be “protected” from mis-, dis- and mal- information are simply saying that they must be protected from having their lies called out as what they are. Should they succeed, we will be North Korea writ large.
Unless the Freedom Caucus gave itself that name as part of the PsyOps operation against the people, by week’s end I will see a resolution condemning France’s arrest of Pavel Durov and stating that no U.S. citizen will ever be extradited for criticism of government policy. Please work to make that happen. To have any chance of defeating cancer, treatments must be aggressive and immediate.
I personally do not trust musk!! I think he is a more polished dorset still controlled by the u.s. intelligence agencies which have sold out our country completely.
assange and sbowden and their kind are the real heroes.
