SUSAN CRABTREE – “During a Donald Trump visit to North Carolina yesterday, a woman Secret Service special agent abandoned her post to breastfeed with no permission/warning to the event site agent, according to three sources in the Secret Service community.
Shortly before Trump’s motorcade arrival — I’m told five minutes beforehand — the site agent was getting ready for the arrival. (The site agent is the person in charge of the entire event’s security.)
The site agent went to do one final sweep of the walking route and found the agent breast-feeding her child in a room that is supposed to be set aside for important Secret Service official work, i.e. a potential emergency related to the president.
A working agent on duty cannot bring a child to a protective assignment. The woman was out of the Atlanta Field Office. The woman agent was in the room with two other family members.
The agent and her family members bypassed the Uniformed Division checkpoint and were escorted by an unpinned event staff into the room to breastfeed, the sources said. Unpinned means they have not been cleared by the Secret Service to be there.
When contacted about the incident, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the incident did not have an impact on the event. and it’s under review.
“All employees of the U.S. Secret Service are held to the highest standards,” he said. “While there was no impact to the North Carolina event, the specifics of this incident are being examined. Given this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further.” (source)

I am sorry but I can’t keep from visualizing this in the context of a James Bond Movie. Goldfinger and his henchmen attacks MI6 and breaks into M’s office and Miss Moneypenny is breast feeding her baby. When they stop to stare James bond hits them up with a citation for violation of DEI regulations. Then they slink away in shame. This would be totally ridiculous as a movie plot and yet it could have happened with the SS for real.

Probably part of the DEI effort that former Director Cheadle was working so hard to accomplish. The non-SS event staffer who brought the SS agent, baby and family members to the room was probably deathly afraid being called a dirty name/losing her/his job for questioning their right to enter that secured space. Not sure that “breast” feeding was what was taking place. A certain ethnicity avoids doing that b/c there’s more status in getting $$ to purchase infant formula. Middle/upper class women are the ones who nurse their babies themselves, at least for a few months, avoiding ingesting foods, alcohol, cigs, drugs etc. which would harm the nursing child.
I’ve known many women who decide not to breastfeed who are middle or upper class women. They don’t want to feel tied down, they don’t have a good place at work to pump or they just can’t get the hang of it, so give up. Lots of reasons.
I don’t get the status of receiving more money to buy formula. It’s way cheaper to breastfeed. If women on public assistance want to play the system, they’ll breastfeed and pocket the money for formula to use elsewhere.

They still follow the same unified chain of command as any other enforcer org. If the order comes down, in their case from A.G. I am truly saddened by this. I remember my mom having to get a 2nd shift job to help make ends meet in the early 70’s. That left me and my sister to care for our baby brother after school and to make dinner for all of us, including my dad.
I was having my children 20 yrs ago. I was very jealous of the stay at home moms in my neighborhood (at least 50% did not work). I have a professional degree and you really can’t stop working, because the assumption is you forget everything you ever knew. (Irritating.)
So I had to listen of the stay at home moms talk about taking their kids to museums, petting zoos, playgrounds, beaches, etc., and feel just awful I couldn’t do the same for my kids.
Years later, they were complaining that their kids didn’t remember any of it, and I felt infinitely better! My kids didn’t remember too much about daycare either.
Government officials and the public in general have been watching to many Hollywood movies staring pencil armed women tossing around 250 lb men with ease. Why did she not get a replacement at her post, leave the site, and do what she needed to do? I’m ignoring that she could have likely prepared better for that eventuality. Did she not talk to her supervisor about it? I retail store worker or waitress could have handled this better.
This is a cultural barometer reading. These people aren’t serious, and the story about the agency having a 9/11 moment… Maybe a few close to the president, but not these field offices of feds in deep blue cities. I hear others talk about their Fed co-workers saying they’ll quit if Trump is confirmed. The USSS won’t turn around overnight because personnel is policy. So if someone wants to take a shot (I’m not advocating anyone attempt an assassination) this is the time, between now and election day outside of DC, because they are weak.

As someone who not only worked full-time in a male dominated field, breastfed 3 children for years each, w/o flex time, a designated area, or a salary that allowed extended time away from work, this is silly, dangerous to all involved, and belies common sense, imo.
There are better ways.
I designed some of these designated spaces for business in my job. Not opposed to the idea, but there must be better solutions for accommodating women in in security roles. As a minimum who was covering her position?
This behavior is a result of no consequences for agents for leaving their posts. You would think they know they are being watched and scrutinized, yet this happens. He really does need his own security team.
No accountability for anything. No one has any accountability from local police, to the act of assassinating. There has to be consequences or nothing will ever change period…
Congratulations to all the working mothers out there who had to pump to fulfill a work assignment. You are tougher than a SS agent, or at least an Atlanta SS agent. My guess is you had better discernment abilities and work ethic. Well done!

Someone working in a security field would be nuts to bring a baby into the operation then think it was okay to attend this child while getting paid to do something else.. these people are very irresponsible and a threat to any security required situation.. The management owes the taxpayer an explanation for this grievous breach in security protocols..
If an agent can’t understand why he/she can’t leave their post, they must be fired. Don’t use the excuse of breastfeeding as a legitimate reason for abandoning the post she was hired to protect. This is inexcusable.
