SUSAN CRABTREE – “During a Donald Trump visit to North Carolina yesterday, a woman Secret Service special agent abandoned her post to breastfeed with no permission/warning to the event site agent, according to three sources in the Secret Service community.
Shortly before Trump’s motorcade arrival — I’m told five minutes beforehand — the site agent was getting ready for the arrival. (The site agent is the person in charge of the entire event’s security.)
The site agent went to do one final sweep of the walking route and found the agent breast-feeding her child in a room that is supposed to be set aside for important Secret Service official work, i.e. a potential emergency related to the president.
A working agent on duty cannot bring a child to a protective assignment. The woman was out of the Atlanta Field Office. The woman agent was in the room with two other family members.
The agent and her family members bypassed the Uniformed Division checkpoint and were escorted by an unpinned event staff into the room to breastfeed, the sources said. Unpinned means they have not been cleared by the Secret Service to be there.
When contacted about the incident, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the incident did not have an impact on the event. and it’s under review.
“All employees of the U.S. Secret Service are held to the highest standards,” he said. “While there was no impact to the North Carolina event, the specifics of this incident are being examined. Given this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further.” (source)

Absolutely disgusting. Even leaving aside the “breastfeeding” aspect, how can an agent be allowed to bring their kid when they’re on duty?! That’s totally beyond belief! I mean even the most ordinary “unimportant” job doesn’t allow that.

So it makes sense that these (2) family members brought the baby to her to feed as opposed to her bringing the baby to work with her.

Back in the day, SS agents were considered almost robots. That always felt sort of insulting at the time… but now I realize it was actually a weird sort of compliment. I think we need to get back to that.

Most working mothers pump so they can fulfill their job duties as best they can. Many have done this so there is no excuse by an agent to not be able to do what female marketing executives do everyday.
This is just crazy! The woman should have been on maternity leave or at the very least should have pumped( breast pumped) for the day to feed her child while she was on duty. SHE was only protecting THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES !(sarcasm) Unbelieveable!

Under no circumstances should a woman with minor children be a SS Agent. There is no way that she is going to put herself in potential mortal danger to protect a stranger at the detriment to her children, let alone herself. In fact, most women would not psychologically qualify. See the research.

The shot from 400 yards is a puzzler. If you use Google Earth at the Butler, PA site; you will find that there are very few elevated sites that were 400-yards away from the shooter’s location and that have a clear line of site to the shooter.

The shut down includes cyclists and pedestrians. The only way for Trump’s neighbors to come and go is through a checkpoint on the north end of the barrier island that is a major inconvenience and detour that residents simply cannot, nor should they have to deal with.
While we understand the enhanced need to protect Pres. Trump the road closures are excessive and overkill, completely unwarranted, unnecessary. So much so it could only have been imposed with the express intent to piss off Trump’s (very wealthy) neighbors.
My wife and I would often ride our bicycles past Mar-a-Lago before the closures, there is plenty of security nearby that will shoo you along if you linger more than a minute outside the compound. That happened to us the week before the Mar-a-Lago raid when we stopped to take a picture of the sign outside the gate that says ‘no trespassing, federally protected site.’ We got about four or five pics in before we were met by police telling us to move along. That’s all they need. They had it covered. We last rode by there when he had his “Republican billionaires” fundraiser in April as they were shuttling attendees from parking at Mar-a-Lago to John Paulson’s nearby mansion. Worth noting that it’s not just the homeowners who need to come and go. It’s their service and staff. Lot and lots of massive mansions and compounds that require attendants to work. Caterers, cooks, nannies, tutors, maids, landscaping/lawn service, pools, repairmen, valets, laundry, courier services, their families and guests. Construction workers building new homes along the beach – there are several remodels and scrape and builds ongoing along the closed route.
For the USSS to block it off is unprecedented, disruptive, to the point of (justifiably) angering neighbors. Which is the entire intention behind the closures. They had it secured. At most all they needed was one or two more uniformed police to patrol the perimeter, so they could interdict lingerers within thirty seconds instead of the sixty seconds it took them before.
