Should Trump have accepted the proposal to debate Biden before the conventions, or should he have waited until Biden/Harris was set in stone?

I’ve thought…had President Trump failed to survive the assassination attempt, would Biden have been asked to drop out?
Assassinating Trump was probably Plan A. That failed due to the incompetence of the USSS. With the post-shooting bump in the polls for Trump, it was only a matter of time before Biden had to go. The person who emerges from the DNC convention will demonstrate how winnable the party bigwigs believe the 2024 election. If it is Kamala, that will indicate that there’s no way for them to win, no matter how much ballot cheating they do, so they send her out to lose while protecting as many House and Senate seats as possible. Once she’s defeated, they can push her aside for 2028. If it is anyone else, if it isn’t Michelle Obama, they are really surrendering temporarily to purge all of the non-Marxists in the Democrat Party due to the historic blowout.
The Democrat bench is empty! No one can get enough votes! Then again, the Repubs may not be cure for the disease, but the Dems are the cause of it! Time has come to get rid of the UniParty! Trump IS THAT ANSWER! How about a new Right wing Party called MAGA Party! A true Conservative Party!

I’m told by a source that Joe Biden didn’t even write this letter.
Source tells me that Steve Ricchetti, the Counselor to
@JoeBiden actually wrote the letter and Biden Senior Advisor and campaign chair Mike Donilon was present as a witness while Ricchetti wrote the letter because Biden is too cognitively damaged to write a letter or comprehend what is going on.
This means the signature is likely forged on the letter as well.
Notice it’s not on official campaign or presidential letterhead.
