On June 3rd it was previously announced by her office that representative Sheila Jackson-Lee was battling pancreatic cancer. [I wrote about it/her here]
Today, her office announced she died. Cancer is horrible. While it is sometimes difficult to find resilient grace and appropriate words for prayer; that does not absolve us of the commands of our faith. I will pray for Mrs Sheila Jackson-Lee and her family. Understanding the path of light was fully within her control.
Dear Lord, we come to you seeking strength and grace. While we ask You to protect us from those who give no thought to the harmful consequences of their irresponsible actions, we also beg for grace -and forgiveness- within our prayers for those who blindly trespass. Shield us from the injurious situations they cause, let their malicious intents be hindered and target our prayers when comeuppance arrives.
As we earnestly try to live in peace with everyone, keep us away from contentious people who might incite us to react without pause or grace. Provide us with gracious, strong yet gentle words for healing that may help pacify the troubled hearts of the malicious. We make effort to glorify You and give testimony of our faith at every opportunity.
Guide and comfort the family of Mrs. Sheila Jackson Lee. During this time of loss and sorrow, bring them closer to You. We beg You to wrap Your wing of love around them, in the way that only Your purity can provide. In Your name of mercy, we pray.

We have an option between a government with law and order or no government with anarchy. That is why Christians are instructed to pray for those in authority. That is why Paul also wrote to the Christians in Rome to be subject to the governing authorities. He described the God given responsibility of the authorities to protect those whose lives are characterized by good conduct and punish bad conduct.
Christians support law and order and pray that the authorities will uphold law and order. However, when the authorites protect criminals and punish innocent citizens, when they call evil good and good evil, Christians should pray for God’s judgement on these authorities and call their rulers to repent. There is a clear moral bankruptcy among the American policians in both parties. As Jesus taught, you can tell a tree by its fruit, you can tell by the words and actions of a person. Changing the government does not address this problem. There is no fear of God in the hearts of most politicians and so there is no respect for his law and his creation order.
Well said. The church has been lacking in the battle for our culture. Our nation is in need of repentance and revival. 2 Chronicles 7:14. No one man or political party will save us.
It’s supposed to be the most painful cancer and among the most painful ways to die. For her sake, I hope she got right with God.
My great-aunt died of bone cancer…excruciating.
My cousin died of ovarian cancer at age 54…she went through hell on this earth.

I read she had been with diagnosed breast cancer and in 2012 was declared cancer free. Have no idea if she was a woman of faith – for her sake I hope she repented and found peace before leaving this world.

While I am profoundly sorry for any person who is afflicted with cancer, I am not sorry that she is no longer in congress.
I remember when she said Trayvon Martin was shot “while simply walking down the street” which was only marginally better than Frederica Wilson’s “hunted down like a rabid dog” description of the event. They and so many of the other race baiters completely misled the public. I have never forgiven them for it.
Yeah, I never did understand why we always had to have grace and pause in these situations and ‘the left’ gets away with atrocious public displays ‘roast in hell b&*#!’. Just sayin’. I guess I’m not there yet. Isn’t this the time to document for history what she did and the suffering she caused?

Well, 2 Machabees 14:44-46 does address the concept of Purgatory. I realize many Christians don’t believe 2 Machabees among other books are part of the Bible. But that means the issue here is the canon of the Bible, not Catholics making up the doctrine of Purgatory.
But everyone will pay for that opinion that doesn’t align with the Bible. People who add to it will increase their torment in hell, people who take away from it prove their lost condition. The only proper response to God’s inspired, inerrant, infallible, eternally preserved Word is to tremble and obey. I explained my mom on this very day July 19,2021 died of pancreatic cancer, she lasted about 10 months she had a surgery. We thought there was hope. The most brutal awful death u could ever know. I told others you wouldn’t want to wish this on anyone. I am most furious about how dc has wasted trillions of dollars on climate scams war s. Pure crap nothing on cancer. I have had breast ca more available. They have done nothing. It is private donors , that raise money to find cures. Than drug cos , insurance co ( that was Obama take loans help, As dc pads their damn pockets with total waste. How dare they
Most real cancer cures are relatively cheap. Not sure about the US but here in southern Africa, cancer is a huge industry, lots of money given to the Cancer Association but never any report of how the money is utilised. Big scam.

Pancreatic cancer along with other cancers is way up among the vaccinated. Even people who had managed to keep their cancer in abeyance for a good while have seen it came back. Just saying.

Once dead a person’s fate is sealed. Either eternal jubilation resulting from repentant faith in Jesus Christ or eternal anguish and torment for rejecting God’s gift of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ.

She was not a nice person. Among the worst persons to work for in Congress. Second most turnover in 2023. Might have been mayor of Houston but was recorded belittling two staffers. It was very damning and hard to listen to. Released during campaign.
She’s on a well-deserved trip to burn in Hell alongside Elijah Cummings, John Lewis, George Floyd, Trayvon Martin and, hopefully soon, Jim Clyburn, Maxine Waters and Al Sharpton.

There is much evil in the world and people choose their pathway in life…at death, we are told, if one believes…that Satan harasses us in order to make one final attempt to claim our souls for the Lake of Fire and that our Lord gives us a chance for final redemption as he suffered for all of us, to achieve that gift of redemption, I pray she was able to pass with the light of redemption shining upon her.
