I have call Elon’s CO2 numbers BS. According to his tweet CO2 above 1,000ppm people are noticeably impacted. Above 2,000ppm, it gets really painful.
I spent 6 years on board subs. CO2 levels are typically 2,000 – 5,000ppm. There were no noticeable impacts, let alone anything painful. There were times we were under for around 30 days straight. While you can snorkel, typically you only come up to send/receive communications which is a very short time. The worst impact from the stale air is everything stinks. To maintain O2 levels there were times we needed to use O2 canisters Other subs had O2 generators.

In the real world, carbon dioxide levels rise AFTER the temperature goes up not before, and anyone who tells you otherwise is either ignorant of the facts or is using it as an opportunity to gain something, be it money, fame, academic aclaim or something else.
