I’d reached similar conclusions. There was, I am convinced, much planning for the events last weekend. And not just for the assassination either. The timing of it has always struck me as deliberate, happening as it did two days before the RNC. I can’t shake the feeling that, in fact, no one has so far considered the importance of it for the reasons outlined in this article, though I had no vision of who would have been nominated by proclamation.
It is a God sent miracle, and I will not be dissuaded from believing it.

In the event, my point was a tactical one. The term working class does not include a lotta folks. And PDJT (and MAGA for that matter) have emphasized they stand for all Americans. The reality of the situation is that a very smart statistician approached PDJT (a billionaire) in 2015 and noted “hey, look at one of the traditional bases of the Dem party – blue collar workers. They’re losing ground in terms of their standard-of-living. They represent a disaffected component of that Party. We can claim that bloc. This is a big deal.” It was fundamentally a political assessment.
I am well aware of the analysis Sundance presented on this several years ago. I am well aware of his nostrum that if the working class doesn’t show up, society can’t function. No one is disavowing those conclusions.
Reality is that the core political construct has morphed over time. It had to once it escalated into MAGA. It wasn’t PR’d as MWCGA (Make Working Class Great Again). It encompasses all Americans and logically all classes. It doesn’t specifically target the rich as an ideological goal. It targets the usurpations of democratic process, the attenuation/destruction of founding principles, the bastardization and outright war against of the Constitution. It seeks to restore the intent of the Constitution and rule of law. It believes in merit based outcomes with due allowance for a safety net. It does not support unfettered capitalism. It supports individual self determination and accountable individual freedom.
Locating this within the working class structure is historically correct in terms of the genesis. But it’s bad strategy in the larger context of what one hopes to be the ultimate outcome. MAGA, one hopes, is about making America great for everyone. There will always be economic classes in a capitalist economy – not a bad thing as long as the machine produces wealth for all and distributes according to the framework laid down by the Constitution, Amendments and Bill of Rights. There will always be uber wealthy. There will always be elites. The game here is to restore “the rules of the game” (as it were) as conceived by the founding fathers.
If you chose to define this as working class only and class warfare exclusively – have at it. You will have undercut a key magnetic force propelling convergence behind PDJT and MAGA.

Were people to actually look at the data they would see that while the West has tubed itself with anti-carbon policies irt to coal consumption and coal driven power plants, the same forces operating in the opposite direction (in China, India, Indonesia, and parts of Asia) have actually exceeded any net decreases attributable to Western country efforts.
They might even see reports from American electrical companies that electrical consumption has increased at historical highs which are close to absorbing the peak load capabilities of the generation and, more importantly, the distribution (the grid) systems. Projected increases in demand, particularly data center driven, will far exceed current generation and transport capabilities – new capacity that solar and wind cannot meet (on-demand requirements), hydro and geothermal are capped, nuclear (which I think will return) takes 10 or more years to move from funding to initial operational capability.

This Space X launch was chosen because useful webcam footage of the exhaust gases was available. One of the “biggest surprises” they found is that in the first stage of the rocket launch around 116 tons of CO2 was emitted in 165 seconds. “That is quite significant,” says Drikakis. “Yes, we don’t know the actual impact on the atmosphere because atmospheric chemistry is a very complicated matter, but when you have the cumulative effect of more launches, it is going to get interesting.”

Correlation is a statistical association between/among variables. The association may be causal or it may not be.
I don’t know if Marxists claim causation does not require correlation or not (assuming you mean correlation as actual test evidence/stats). Probably not, if they follow post-modernist liturgy, since that “epistemology” is rooted in the notion that all concepts are rooted in culture – specifically whichever “tribe” holds the balance of power.
In the event, my understanding is that causation (ultimately knowledge, truth whatever one wants to call it) lies in theory (based ultimately on axioms and assumptions) from which one derives conclusions, corollaries, predictions that can be tested. The broader the scope in terms of explained phenomena the better the theory.
If one examines actual science, the dirty secret is that science (i.e., knowledge) often just makes stuff up (e.g., dark energy) to fill causal gaps until such time as experiment (i.e., technology) can catch up to the math. Some theory remains forever outside the realm of proof – yup, the Universe started as a singleton of infinite density, no mass, pure energy and just erupted one non-day. No accepted laws of physics applied. Kinda like the Gemini capsule lost in the ocean “it just blew”!!

But, it the debate is going to be open to all perspectives, then it is important that someone point out that more CO2 is more food for plants which enables more food production (Just like the intelligent creator designed).
Again, I am not so concerned about a public debate on ideas. I am more concerned about dumb ideas getting more consideration based on who says it. Electric vehicles have potential and should continue to be developed, but mandating the transition when the technology, infrastructure, and stand alone economics does not make is sustainable will only lead to many being left behind widening the social divide.
While Elon may be an impressive maverick, his worldview perspective is clouded by blindness to the challenges of the bottom half of the economic spectrum. I am by no means anywhere close to the 1% in American terms, but I am definitely in the 1% in world terms.
I recently had the opportunity to see up close the challenges of a single mom and was shocked by the obstacles the government and society puts in front of those with the least capacity to push back (For example, when the bank where we both have accounts ran all the debits and then the credits from overnight to create an insufficient funds scenario for just a few seconds, I called an raised bloody hell about the devious strategy. In my case, the bank apologized and reversed the fees, but the single mom was not given the same accommodation. It seems; if you have money, fees are negotiable, but if you are poor they are non-negotiable).
Sadly; even though my life experiences have not been easy, I had no idea there is an actual heirarchy of treatment and behavior by society based on economic status. While this should not be, I had no idea such a thing even existed until I was able to watch it happen to someone in a lower economic class. I was aware that government does it, but did not know that the behavior had spread to the private sector and not just in business, but also in churches.
This is why getting access to input from all levels is so important for positive government policy. This I believe is one of Trump’s strengths, since he is accustom to going to the street and talking directly to the working men and women to hear their perspective. That makes Trump different than all other politicians.
