Seemingly lost amid all of the discussion of Senators John Barrasso and Marsha Blackburn confronting U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle at the RNC convention last night, is the obvious question, why was Cheatle even there?
Did she meet with President Trump and offer an apology for what the USSS is positioning as a gross collapse of simple security procedures; or was Director Cheatle simply trying to save her position. We don’t find out answers to the baseline question because the politics of the event are the paramount prism for the Barrasso and the Blackburn promotion of their confrontation. I loathe all of them.

There need be no “discussion” here. 26 seconds is easily long enough to do the deed, if indeed you are the actual “shooter,” which I consider doubtful. I think that this person was a “patsy” from beginning to end: he was supposed to be the focus of attention, while an actual (Secret Service?) sniper from a plausibly-similar position (or, maybe not …) took the actual kill shot.

SS sniper used a subsonic bullet on Crooks that’s why no splatter.. It only has to be less than 900 ft/sec. very doable.

That’s why it looked as if the barn roof counter-sniper who couldn’t keep his eye on the glass and his rig grounded managed to get cute and shoot the shooter through his mouth . . . unlikely in the extreme.

We do not know what type of projectile was used. It is possible a lower velocity subsonic bullet was used. In crowded venues, a marksmen would not want their bullet to pass through the target and hit an innocent person.
Federal Air Marshalls use frangible bullets. They are “powdered metal” that disintegrates and expends all of it’s energy quickly into the target. The use of such ammunition inside of an airplane minimizes the possibility that the cabin would be punctured and depressurized if the Marshall needed to discharge his firearm.

This would have been to left side of the podium. A completely different counter sniper than the two we see video of on the roof with tripod and kneeling.
Most counter sniper use 7.62 x 51 cartridge at under 500 meters (.308).
Given that the shooter on the roof had to have head up over peak of roof and that the picture of the dead man had teeth knocked out…..

There would seem to be enough agreement from multiple sources and reviewing the video that the two man team in the video could not lock onto and probably did not engage the target due to the tree blocking line of sight to shooters position. They likely had an obscured view through high power optics and certainly were focusing on that area. Suppressors are made for all kinds of weapons, including ARs. They are NOT non-existent.
It’s not the bullet, it’s the barrel that has the suppressor, ie silencer.
The suppressor acts to muffle the sound and limit the muzzle flash coming from the barrel. It may affect the accuracy if not sighted in with one; and it may increase back pressure thru the weapon.
The effect on the bullet is not that great.

What we do know for absolute certain, is there was only one target meant, and that was Trump.
The weapon that Crooks used was capable of killing up to 50 people dependent upon angle in those 26 seconds AFTER shooting dead Corey Comperatore. He grazed Trump on the second shot, and was allowed 26 seconds for a third bullet. Did he fire it? How many shots in total were fired?
Craziest thing IMO of all of this. I shoot a lot. Even one shot heats a barrel and affects bullet trajectory. The more bullets you put through and the hotter the barrel gets, the less accurate it becomes at distance. Even if Comperatore was the one and only shot beforehand, it makes it even less likely he’d even hit trumps ear at 150 yards if he’s as inexperienced and as bad of a shot as they make him out to be.
I primarily shoot 7.62 caliber – .300blk and .308 but I do have an old ishapore Enfield 7.62×51. Scoped inside 100 yards I can easily continue to tap a swinging target even with a hot barrel. Outside 100 yards it gets more difficult. 150+ yards and I have to count between shots. Only my best built gun with a barrel that dissipates heat more quickly can I consistently tap a moving target shot after shot without rest between.
I say all of that to really say this – I doubt the AR he was shooting was a high dollar built weapon. Making the supposed shots, taken together with the backstory of him being kicked off the shooting club just so unbelievable.

I have felt from the beginning that the real sniper was off in the distance when he took a single shot amid all the other firing, and missed. I did a little looking into it. North of the kid on the roof about 700 yards from the stage is a big gym type building easily high enough with an unobstructed view of the stage. Any well trained sniper could have made that shot with the proper military equipment. But for the grace of God.
Why was the counter sniper up on one knee with gun on a tripod? Crooks was under 200 feet away, not yards. These guys are trained to shoot an aspirin at 200 yards, according to ex-FBI sniper Chris Whitcomb.

What I have read on X is that the 2 US snipers on the building further away from the shooter did the deed. This is not clear yet, but it looks like a local Swat shooter did the original hit, and SS is claiming they did the follow up kill shot. Bongino says USSS had a 9-inch window to take the shot because there was a tree in the way.

Dan Bongino (former Secret Service agent) had a very short video clip on social media (that I don’t know how to share here) where he stated over and over that anytime the Secret Service receives a threat warning they would never allow the person they’re guarding to appear on the X spot (stage) for a speech.

Also, there were 2 ladders, Elon Musk posted a photo with the longer one closest to the shooter, but there was a smaller shorter on a lean to next to the adjacent building. If he brought the 5 foot ladder, did he carry that on his bike? None of this makes sense. The metal detectors caught his range finder, but where did he stash his rifle?
Did he really stash it? Crook’s backpack is shown on the edge of the roof, at the point where he accessed the roof and then crawled to take his kill shot(s). Is it possible his gun was dismantled and he assembled it on the roof? He had plenty of time.

Don’t you think we are accepting the premise that Crooks was the actual shooter (vs. A shooter)? It’s pretty unrealistic he made the shot given his experience and what was going on at the time. There have been reports of three different acoustic signatures from three different shots fired. The witnesses consistently refer to the water tower as a potential location. I am also not convinced the USSS counter sniper took Crooks out.
Finally, the lack of blood splatter in the aerial pics of the shooter just doesn’t make sense.
I don’t recall there ever not being others in mass-trauma/massacre events… who slipped away while the patsy/diversion was highlighted to the exclusion of all information otherwise.
