President Donald J Trump has selected Ohio Senator JD Vance to be his Vice-Presidential running mate.

Cliff Notes – On the upside JD Vance brings with him the full support of Silicon Valley and unites the various social media clans and venture capitalists (Musk, Ackerman, Thiel, etc.). This means a big boost to the financial position of the Trump campaign, support from half the banking community, and also the absence of internet protocols that would restrict or oppose his 2024 campaign platform.
Additionally, on a geopolitical level, Vance will be unlikely to interfere too much on the global peace initiative; that’s important. Also, Vance will likely not interfere too much with MAGAnomic policy other than oppose tariffs that align against the aforementioned Vance benefactors. JD Vance was heavily pushed by Donald Trump Jr.
On the downside the ‘never trust a Never-Trumper’ axiom was never more true than it is today. The IC-aligned DHS network behind JD Vance opens a Trump administration to the scorpions within the deepest part of the intelligence apparatus. We can easily predict the decade of 2030-2040 now that JD Vance has been selected. The IC silos will predictably go dormant now as things settle in with Vance, at least for a while. Catholics are a big part of the Democrats constituency, and this will make big inroads with them and with the pro-life evangelicals that are worried Trump is going soft on them. From what I can gather Senator Vance sits on the following committees: Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, the Joint Economic Committee, and the Special Committee on Aging

I feel that Rubio wasn’t strong enough and there were too many RINOs that wanted Burgum, which smelled of Pence. Of the 3, I think Vance is the best pick. At least he’s not afraid of voicing his opinion. He’s also been open about why he was anti trump in the past, and I’m hoping he was sincere. And, the fact that the Dems hate him didn’t hurt. I think that (1) blew its wad last Saturday… they already had some serious political issues with Biden and a very difficult path to steal this election.
(2) Perhaps didn’t care about (1) anymore. They got most of what they wanted.
(3) Might be fed up with (1) and also fed up with (2). The break up with BRICS is not good for business when you are in a growth industry.
IMHO, the intentions of (3) are not political nor power… they want to make money. So, it’s very possible they remember how much money they made with Trump and are ready to dump (1) and (2).

I tend to agree, that’s the only reason I wasn’t keen on Carson, but it wasn’t because he was soft spoken and I certainly believe he is a trusted friend to Trump, I just thought he wasn’t what was needed in the campaign right now.
I saw Dr. Carson in a video where he went on “The View” with all the lying cows. He was magnificent. He knew exactly what to say and how to say it. It was very impressive.
All President Trump needs is a warning about Vance’s associates to handle things in office, as long as we can keep him protected for long enough to ensure that.
Personally I hope Vivek is no where near the President and I hope he never gets into public office. I worry much more about him than I do Vance, “for now”. The record of first generation Indians in public office in Ireland and England does not bode well for any country putting them into a high office where they can effect immigration policy. In Ireland and England their efforts seemed to be to turn those countries into another India and they certainly have the immigration numbers from India to succeed, if left unchecked. I find that just as scary as allowing more Muslims to immigrate here.
Yes, Dr Carson is impressive indeed, but as you say, maybe not what is needed right now. The label of two elderly men (or three if Biden is the candidate) could be a drag on the ticket.

Another positive about Vance is that he is very good at messaging. He is a fighter…yet still has a statesman quality when he debates things with the media.

He has been a senator for less than two years, and he was never in politics at all before that. It’s not like he has a lot of experience or an enormous amount of clout in the Senate.

I’m neutral about Vance because I don’t know much about him. The choice of Vance isn’t going to affect my vote in November, I’m still all-in for Trump and all-in for GOP majorities in Congress. To those of you who hate the choice, can you explain why? I see claims of “RINO” and “snake”. I’m aware he made some critical statements about Trump in early 2016, I was a Trump backer since late 2015 but I can understand why others were wary of him then. What has he said or done during or after Trump’s first term that makes any of you so concerned? This is an honest question by the way, I’m seeking clarification and extra information.

I think age was also a factor in his selection. Trump knows we need to look past 2025, with that in mind, he likely chose a younger man, as future VP.
