President Donald J Trump has selected Ohio Senator JD Vance to be his Vice-Presidential running mate.

Cliff Notes – On the upside JD Vance brings with him the full support of Silicon Valley and unites the various social media clans and venture capitalists (Musk, Ackerman, Thiel, etc.). This means a big boost to the financial position of the Trump campaign, support from half the banking community, and also the absence of internet protocols that would restrict or oppose his 2024 campaign platform.
Additionally, on a geopolitical level, Vance will be unlikely to interfere too much on the global peace initiative; that’s important. Also, Vance will likely not interfere too much with MAGAnomic policy other than oppose tariffs that align against the aforementioned Vance benefactors. JD Vance was heavily pushed by Donald Trump Jr.
On the downside the ‘never trust a Never-Trumper’ axiom was never more true than it is today. The IC-aligned DHS network behind JD Vance opens a Trump administration to the scorpions within the deepest part of the intelligence apparatus. We can easily predict the decade of 2030-2040 now that JD Vance has been selected. The IC silos will predictably go dormant now as things settle in with Vance, at least for a while. I’ll have much more on these granular aspects in days and weeks to come.
This selection also guarantees a prominent position for Vivek Ramaswamy in the cabinet.

I did have serious concerns about the “disqualification” of all in favor of one. More than that, some of the comments against any poster that disagreed with another’s Favorite or even suggestion were out of line.
When all but 1 are considered a bad choice — Odds are not good that the Candidate chosen will get a good response on THIS very influential website.

If President Trump serves a full four years (barring another Deep State hit), then Vance’s pick will matter less then than his ability to help deliver Ohio will matter now. When and if Vance decides to run for the presidency, he’ll have to make the case for himself. If it were DeSantis at the top of the ticket, I’d be more worried about Vance because DeSantis is totally beholden to anti-American interests and how would Vance balance that? But Trump isn’t so beholden so I care less about Vance’s “balance” than I do about his draw of Ohio voters to lean toward Trump.
And it doesn’t hurt that Vance is young, a family man, and he’s good in front of a microphone, and is about as fearless as Trump. This pick can work for the Republican ticket and has more positives up front than negatives. Biden cannot remotely say the same, given that both he and Kamala are drags on that ticket.

I don’t have the facts that President Trump has about these candidates. Nobody knows what occurred in the private conversations between him, Dr. Carson, or any of the other candidates we’d like to see as the pick for V.P. It’s possible some on the list may have turned down the offer for personal reasons and we don’t know that either. That’s something the Trump campaign would also want to keep private.
I’m not thrilled by this pick today, but I know that if it turns out to be the wrong pick, we’ll know early. For now I’m going to hope and pray that Vance is a MAGA convert without any reservation.

I have no idea how good a puck this is, but:
1. For those who say he’s inexperienced, so was Lincoln (one or two terms in house of rep), so was Theo Roosevelt, so was Eisenhower. So was Trump, in 2016, in a way.
2. For those who say he’s young, CLEARLY he carries himself like a Grown-Arse Man. There used to be a thing called “Mental Age” or “Emotional Age.” We all know it when we’re around it — someone who behaves “more mature than most others of same chronological age.” Kobe Bryant and Moses Malone and Derek Jeter handled pro stardom at age 19. Many, many others couldn’t. didn’t. We’ve all seen this kind of thing in all walks of life. It is beyond dispute that the guy is bright—much brighter than probably 90+ % of humanity, objectively.
3. No pick FOR ANY THING!!! can ever be perfect. We do not know whether Carson was offered but declined. Trump is not perfect. I am not perfect. Sundance (omg!!) isn’t perfect. No one reading this is perfect.

Looking at the matter straightforward, Vance is one of the few figures in Congress who support Trump on two key issues that divide the party: 1) he is against the interventionism of the Neocons/Neolibs and 2) he is for nationalist economic policies that keep and return jobs to average Americans. It appears President Trump is looking to pick a standard bearer to continue the transformation of the party into an America First platform after he serves his 2nd term.
I do worry that it weakens his strength in the Senate by taking him out. If DeWine gets to pick his successor, it will surely be a RINO.

I think you are right. I love Dr. Carson and he would make a wonderful VP. However I do not think he would have done well on the campaign trail. He is too nice! I too do not like the Vance pick, don’t trust him. My pick would have been Byron Donalds. Articulate, smart, young, no wallflower and he is Black. He would have had better optics in a debate against Kamala.
