The unity on policy seems to come from two directions. First, there is the disaster of the Biden regime policies (Susan Rice, we know what you did), and then more recently Ron Johnson has been working behind the scenes to get a consensus on what Republicans stand for going into both the Presidential and Congressional elections. If there is agreement on policy objectives, appointments and legislation has to follow if an individual doesn’t want to be outed as a traitor to the party.
To be honest, I trust very few nowadays.

IMO any VP coming from Congress is a liability due to the possibility traitorous tainted ties to Congress.
